However, this didn’t stop the team at Mutiny BBQ from opening up one of the state’s best BBQ options in the middle of Asbury Park. They do solid ribs, juicy hot links, and a rotating offering of brunswick stew, chili, and smoked turkey soups. The 5th Avenue location has a backyard that’s perfect for a BYOB hang with friends. Plus, you can sit just close enough to the smoker that everyone you come in contact with in the next 24 hours will know exactly what you ate recently. The team now operates Mutiny Beach, a second location at Asbury Park’s convention hall with a full bar and outdoor seating overlooking the ocean, sandwiches piled high with smoked meat—we like the brisket—and a complete menu of sides." - Michael Sinatra
