Usually my pup & I have a great time here. I struggled to leave one star review. However, today, my pup picked up a toy a guy kept throwing at Mutt's, an off leash dog park. After picking up the toy, my pup was smacked across the head & elbowed by an unprovoked Caucasian, heavier set male. My pup is not aggressive, very obedient, & playful. After observing the cruelty to my pup, I told this man to never hit my pup! The Narcissistic man acted as if he was the attacked "victim" & had the audacity to insult me as if I was in the wrong. A Mutt's employee approached the loser & I to de-escalate the situation. I was informed that this guy was nasty & condescending towards others at Mutt's, prior to this incident. However, the manager had NOT asked him to leave. The guy called me "little girl", told me to "shut the f up", etc. Even antagonized me to assault him. I did not retaliate & neither did my pup.
I asked the Mutt's employee to please ask the manager to come over. The manager, Bri, did nothing & told me her job was just to deescalate the interaction?? 2 witnesses offered their numbers & names as well explanations of the unprovoked cruelty & disrespect my pup & I experienced.
However, Bri, the manager did NOT care & Mutt's obviously doesn't care if dogs are assaulted, unprovoked, on their property. Bri did NOT ask the man to leave. ZERO consequences were given to this "man". "Statements" were taken & that was it.
Bri, the manger went on to treat herself to shots of liquor, on the clock, with a male customer at the bar as she discussed trying to get a job at Happiest Hour. Never mind the safety & moral treatment of dogs at Mutt's...I sat at the bar & observed this before quietly leaving with my pup, in disgust & sadness.
Another thing, Bri has previously told me Mutt's accepts Apple Pay. Today, when I first arrived at Mutt's & tried to order my pup food & such, Bri told me Mutt's does not accept Apple Pay. That is fine but please be consistent because it's confusing otherwise.
I called the police to report the "man's" unprovoked excessive cruelty to my pup. DPD not only took several hours to respond...but, too, went on to explain to me that the Texas Penal Code doesn't consider the "man's" behavior "criminal"...considering my pup did not sustain critical/serious injury...???? That can't be right. Where are the laws to protect beloved 4 legged family members? I bet if someone smack & elbowed their dogs, they'd be a bit more motivated to do something about this.
