This Portland Coffee Company Highlights Rescued Dogs on Its Labels | Eater Portland

"I found that Jaclyn Leedy and Mark Wilcox combined their backgrounds in coffee and dog rescue to create Mutt’s Coffee, a roaster that highlights specific rescue dogs and donates 25 percent of its profits to Free State Four Paws, an Alabama-based dog rescue and advocacy group. When they release a roast they feature an actual rescued dog on the cover and tell the dog’s story on social channels; for example, Jada was rescued from a cable in 2020, sent to a rescue in New York, and was featured on a Guatemalan light roast to highlight the dangers of tethering (which can be very dangerous and is against the law in states like Oregon). They post each dog’s story on their website so people can read about past dogs after a roast sells out, allow customers to choose their own cover art or featured dog, and offer merch like stickers and mugs. The roasts often use beans from countries like Vietnam, Guatemala, and Columbia, are available for local delivery and nationwide shipping, and the founders plan to begin appearing at farmers markets—check their social channels for updates." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

You could never go wrong with a dog-themed café, and the drinks happened to be stellar as well! A friend recommended this place to me after seeing it on social media, so I went in around lunchtime. I got the seasonal blended blackberry mocha, and I'm 70% sure I just had real blackberries in my drink? Absolutely stellar. The inside is cozy but not too cramped and featured lots of different seating options, including outdoor spots. I wish I had brought my laptop or a book when I went in to just hang out, because it really is just that kind of spot. Nice and tucked away to not get too slammed but also close enough to downtown to be a great walking destination! Loved this place and am definitely coming back.

Mutts is the absolute best! Ignore the negative remark.. I have been going to Mutts weekly (sometimes a few times a week) for the last few months as a lil treat. The staff is great. They’re all so friendly and amazing to chat with as I usually do. My kiddos love to play with the games in the shop and I’ve attempted to crochet with their in-store knitting area. The artwork is spot on. The vibes and compassion is my number one for returning- besides my favorite coffee and vegan breakfast sandwich. I love that they feature other vendors for their pastries and products for sale. I buy the coffee beans from there knowing a portion of the proceeds goes to pets in need. I promote them all the time and will continue to support them! Jaclyn, Mark and the team are awesome.

Baristas are the most friendly people we've encountered in a while in this area- they get lots of business for good reason! would be nice to have a small puzzle to do while there! (Maybe like 200 pieces or less, they make mini ones) Got a really good matcha latte here, highly recommend (not too sweet)

I had an iced white mocha that was tasty and bought a bag of their freshly roasted coffee beans featuring Pokey to take home. Amazing atmosphere, the owners have such a large heart for animals and it really shines with this adorable coffee shop. While I was there one of the rescues they’re partnered with Angels With Misplaced Wings Animal Sanctuary was also there with some of their dogs. They also have a dedicated space to feature local dogs needing forever home. Between their tasty coffee and love for dogs, I can’t recommend Mutts enough.

This place is incredible! I'm not from here but I wish there was a location like this in my city. First off, I eat a bagel nearly everyday. I had a vegan bagel deluxe with spinach asiago cream cheese on an everything bagel. Now THIS was a proper bagel sandwich...the flavors within blew me away! The bagel was perfectly toasty on the outside and I was appreciative of the vegan options like the sausage and egg. The vegetables were fresh and the sandwich was made to order. I will be craving this bagel sandwich every day to come. Now to the coffee... I got a seasonal latte, the peach cobbler iced with oat milk. My goodness. What a treat! It was topped with a cardamom foam that was absolutely magical. The espresso coming through was delicious. They know what they are doing here! The owners are fully passionate on their mission of Mutts, helping both dogs and their community. I love their slogan "misfits make the best fits" as I have rescued my two dogs. The art around the Cafe is like a gallery and I love that they offer local handmade goods. This place is amazing, and while you can get coffee and bagels many places, majority of those places do not compare to this one! And...you help dogs! Thanks for the wonderful experience.

We always leave Mutts with a smile! The owners are so incredibly nice and we love that a portion of every drip order gets donated to Free State Four Paws! Coffee is delicious and the bagel and schmear was perfectly toasted. Highly recommend this exact order as a great way to kick off a Sunday morning! :)

Me and a group of friends decided to do a Secret Santa thing here because it just looked so cute. The service was wonderful, the drinks were amazing, and had low prices. One of my friends bumped a plate and cup off the table and the plate broke. I offered to pay but they said no. I can't tell you how nice it was and they had the best matcha latte I've ever had, so I bought two. Some dogs came in and out and everyone was very friendly. 10/10 will be back.

Yelp
Very cute local coffee shop! Great selection of pastries, small foods, and great drinks. So happy that they had some vegan and gluten free options too. I'm also a bit for a coffee snob, and I have to say this place had a great black coffee. Also great ice cream! Employees are also so kind. I don't have a dog. I'm actually allergic. But I found this place so charming my husband and I have come back multiple times! Prefect place to work or take a kid... or take a dog!

Yelp
Great coffee spot that's close to the busyness of Central Beaverton but not smack in the middle. It's definitely a nice place to grab coffee as you walk your dog on a nice morning. It's roomier than I thought inside. From the outside it looks like there's enough room for 1 table. Latte was great and tasty. Appreciate the treats for my dog. Will definitely need to come back to get me a sandwich too.

Yelp
Loved finding this cafe!! We missed our pups on our road trip and felt closer to them at this place. Such a cute vibe and helping dogs get adopted is a wonderful mission. The bagel sandwiches are delicious and the coffee is really tasty as well. The woman working was so kind and friendly. All in all we loved it!

Yelp
Coffee drinks are delicious, sandos are also amazing! Super friendly staff and I can bring my dogs, what more could you want from a coffee shop!?

Yelp
Delicious coffee and wonderful bagels (and other tasty treats) in a cozy shop, AND benefitting dog rescue?! Yes please! Try Mutts, you'll be back! I don't think their hours are posted on their website, but the sign on the door says 8am-4pm daily.
