Salt duck egg yolk tofu with pork floss is the best!! Deep fried pork intestines is fire🔥

As someone from Hunan, this is the most authentic Hunan cuisine I've ever had in the U.S.! It's incredibly delicious! One bite and it feels like being back in my hometown! It definitely deserves a five-star review!

I recently ordered takeout from my happy hunan kitchen and it was outstanding. The food was incredibly delicious, with fresh ingredients and perfect seasoning. The portion sizes were generous, and everything arrived hot and well-packaged. Which was flavorful and satisfying. My Happy Hu Nan Kitchen exceeded my expectations with their excellent takeout service. I highly recommend them for a fantastic meal.

Google
The best dish was the green pepper and eggplant with century egg. The hot braised beef noodle soup was warm and not hot like I’m used to, but the flavor was spicy and very yummy overall. The sweet and sour short ribs were as expected. All the dishes were warm but not piping hot. The Sichuan sliced beef was spicy and a little numbing but had good flavor and paired well with the noodles and rice. The sweet and spicy crispy chicken was really yummy and the peanuts were very crispy. Thin-sliced beef in golden soup was tangy, spicy and paired well with the noodles and rice, although if the beef was hot it would have been better. Portion size was standard. The service was good, they came once in a while to give us more water, but nothing more than that. They also charge 20% gratuity for any groups larger than 6, at least they let us know before we put a lot more on top than we intended.

Google
Best Hunan restaurant in all of Boston, and I have tried many if not all. Very authentic flavours! The spice level has been moderated to suit more people (vs Hunan death level). My favourite dish is stir fried chicken gizzard with pickled beans. The pumpkin cake and duck neck is also surprisingly addictive. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.

Google
Food is decent and not overwhelmingly spicy. There are a lot of specialty dishes. It's a good spot to share dishes with a group if you want to sample different flavors.

Google
Presentation of the dishes may give patrons an initial feeling of authenticity of Hunan cuisine. Upon tasting each dish, the star ratings starts to drop. Just to give a few examples, the Hunan special fried rice is a very delicious dish made with pickled long beans and Chinese ham along with fresh chili 🌶, but the one we ordered failed on all accords miserably, tasting just like pre-cooked fried rice mixed with some pork belly meat. Even the easiest green veggie dish, the veggie wasn’t the most fresh because the stems were hard to chew on. Perhaps we didn’t order their chef’s special dishes, but I was fairly disappointed in its mediocrity and lack of authentic taste.

Google
Ordered the chicken feet, Mao’s Braised Pork Belly, and lo mein with lapcheong. Everything came out fast and was delicious. Service was attentive and friendly. While the food is on the pricey side, it is worth it if you want to treat yourself/the family. Bathrooms were surprisingly clean. Music was a little bit too loud for me.

Yelp
Brought our clients here and we had essentially the same dishes we enjoyed from the previous experiences and they enjoyed just as much, from the pork belly and baked shrimp to the eggplant with century egg. A few other dishes we ordered this time were the stinky tofu (which I guess needed more stinkiness?), salivating chicken (literal Chinese translation, not too certain about the actual euphemism) which was very tender with lots of chilis, and the xiao long baos, which were very savory and pleasing from its not-too-thick, not-too-thin skin and its proportions as a one-biter. This is something they started offering more recently and you need to get at least one if not more! Very consistent execution in their dishes and professional in their service.

Yelp
Been here twice now with my family and we've enjoyed both times. Service can be a bit slow and waitresses can get distracted unless you flag them down but I feel this is quite typical of any classic Chinese place. Decor and ambiance is nice and they also have larger, private rooms on the side for any large dinner parties. Food comes out relatively quick. Typically will get 4 plates plus rice for 4 of us. We've tried a variety of dishes here and my absolute favorite is the cumin beef plate, which I will always get. It's probably pretty unhealthy and filled with MSG but it's so good and it's a big portion. Salted egg potato strips is also quite interesting and is good for those who enjoy salted egg dishes. I wasn't too fond of the pan seared tofu and found it to be very bland, likely due to most of the flavor getting lost in the soup. I would not get this again. It's an easy pick for dinner and I'd come back and try more dishes. Parking is right outside but can get busy around dinner so you may have to do a few circles before finding a spot.

Yelp
One of my favorite Chinese restaurants in Boston and frequently come here for dinner. Have tried a lot of items from the menu and have liked everything! Highly recommend the stewed tofu with salted egg yolk, the cold noodles, and the lamb! Ambience is quite nice, very clean and decorated well.

Yelp
Nice and simple decor. Servers were nice but not as attentive and oblivious at times when customers came through the door as they were still talking to each other. Maybe they could use a ringer on the door, a glass wall, or just walk around to be more aware of the surroundings. The main dish came first before apps, no biggie. Sweet and spicy fried chicken was good with fried onion and garlic pieces. Didn't realize any sweetness, but it was not needed for my tastebuds since it was still tasty. Steamed chicken with chili was good but thought it might of been white meat or had some white meat, not all dark meat. Sticky rice and mushrooms shumai didn't have much mushroom flavor and had pork. Did not know it did have pork since it wasn't listed in the menu and that is an important main ingredient to list since some people don't eat pork (like me) and would not have ordered it if I knew that it did contain pork. Asked the server to confirm there was pork in the shumai and asked me if I don't eat pork. Told her I don't and suggested maybe it should be listed as an ingredient in the menu. She said she would let someone know and that was it.

Yelp
A very happy Hunan kitchen indeed! Clean and hip spot on the outskirts of Boston College right next to Cleveland Circle stop. We came in as a party of 2 on a Friday evening and didn't have to wait - we must have come early enough because the place was packed as we left the door. We ordered a stir fried beef with pepper dish and a fish dish in a pickled, sour-like soup. Both delicious, wonderfully spicy, very Hunan. Definitely order a bowl of rice if you get something spicy, helps cut the grease and pace the eating experience. The price is fair, and their portions are generous. The only other place I feel competes with this level of authentic Hunan cuisine is Sumiao in Kendall (which has smaller portions and is more expensive). tldr; great spot for your Hunan fix or if you're craving (authentic) spicy Chinese

MN P.

Yelp
You can tell the food was microwaved and not really cooked because the middle of the food is still cold. You can also tell that some food items, such as their ribs, have been reheated multiple times, as the outskirts of the meat are extremely dry, and the color looks vastly different from different pieces. When we kindly raised the issue, the waitress was very rude to us and didn't even want to respond. I used to like this restaurant, even tho it is on the pricy side. but this latest experience definitely make us change our mind.

Yelp
It was ok. Went for birthday dinner during Chinese new year. I think my preference is for schezuan style Chinese. Staff were okay. Sweet and sour fish filet were good but not on menu. I saw on table next to me.
google avatar

Ammy T.

Yelp
Very authentic menu. Staff was not helpful in explaining what some dishes are. Portions are generous, but prices are on the high side. Service is slow and not professional. I hate when a server reaches over my plate to put something on the table.
google avatar

David V.

Yelp
I thought the food here was okay. I got the spicy beef stir fry and it needed to be more spicy and savory. I had to ask for extra chili and soy sauce because it was lacking in flavor. I really liked the sizzling calamari dish with the rice. again, it needs a little more salty flavor ------------------- My Star Rating Scale: 5 Stars: Blew my mind, had a wow factor, will come back 4 Stars: I liked it but didn't love it, no wow factor, will still come back 3 Stars: It was okay, I didn't hate it but didn't like it either; would not voluntarily come back 2 Stars: I did not like it, I would not come back 1 Star: Absolutely hated it, I would not come back here

Yelp
By far the best Chinese restaurant in and around Boston! I was giving up on the Boston food scene until I found this gem during my last week in the city. Brought my Chinese parents who came to visit from Canada and everyone loved it. My favorite dish was the mouth-watering chicken. So tender, juicy and flavorful. But careful, it's pretty spicy (like must Hunan food)! The pumpkin cakes are great too. The pig feet meeeelts in your mouth. The stir fry pea shoots could have used more garlic, but was still fresh and enjoyable. The price is reasonable for Boston standards and the portions are big. The atmosphere and decorations are great. Service is fast. I will definitely return on my next visit to Boston.

Yelp
We flew into Boston this evening, and after checking into our hotel were ready for something warm and hearty for dinner. This place hit the spot. Our dinner consisted of: Smashed Cucumber Salad Steamed Chicken in Chili Sauce (some bites were very spicy) Pork Bao Soup Dumplings Shumai Dumplings Eggplant and Greenbean stir fry Rice I can't believe the two of us ate almost all of this! It was so good we couldn't help ourselves. This is definitely a must try if you are in the area, whether to eat there or takeout.

Yelp
It was ok just kinda pricey on ubereats for the amount of food I received. Might be because they need to pay the delivery app costs?
google avatar

Norm C.

Yelp
Good ambiance and definitely authentic Hunan cuisine. I can eat a little spicy but some dishes can be quite intense. The team was very accommodating and didn't pressure us even though we were the few tables left while they closed. I would go again and try their other dishes.
google avatar

Andrew C.

Yelp
Excellent place to get Hunan food as well as other Chinese-American dishes but ideally you would want to stick to Hunan for the ideal dining experience. Hunan cuisine is typically spicy and the standard spiciness level is probably a little higher on the heat spectrum. Came here on a weeknight and made reservations. While probably not needed on non-peak times, it's probably best practice because they may be understaffed for service. If you don't mind a leisurely paced meal this is a great to enjoy a nice meal and enjoy company of others or time with yourself.

Yelp
If spicy food, especially Hunan style, is your favor, this is definitely the place for you. They offer so many authenticate Hunan dishes. We selected cold & rice noodles, stinky tofu, steamed pork with rice powder, stir-fried pork liver with leeks, tofu stew with duck yolk, mushrooms & chicken soup, sizzling vermicelli & pork, eggplant with century egg, and Hunan fried rice. This barely touches their entire selection. They were all very delicious. We will definitely go back for more, and highly recommend everyone to give it a try.

Yelp
As somebody who spent her childhood in Hunan, I can attest to the authenticity of this restaurant's dishes. The head chef has experience in a successful hotel chain located in Changsha, and he has brought a taste of home overseas. My all time favorites are: Kang Xi Beef. This is a signature dish and must have. The beef cubes are fried slightly crispy and tossed in fried onion, peanuts, dried chili, and seasoning. Green Pepper and Eggplant with Century Egg: This is normally mostly green pepper and a lot spicier, but it has been adapted to an American palette by adding lots of eggplant to balance the taste. Still super yummy. Stir Fry Pepper Pork: This is a dish that always tastes better in restaurants, despite its minimal ingredients. The peppers are cooked in high heat so the inside is soft and slightly sweet. Rice Noodle with Minced Pork and Pickled Green Bean. Tastes just like what I used to get from hole in the wall restaurants in Hunan. Absolutely addicting. The only miss I've encountered was the steamed rice powder and pork with potato. The pork is similar to Char Siu pork, too sweet for my taste. I was expecting something more savory. If you're a fan of peppers, I would also ask for a side of chopped chili. The flavor elevates the entire dining experience. The environment is spacious and well lit, and there are usually booths available. Overall an incredible experience!

Yelp
More accurately 4.5/5 I ordered the hot braised dish combo with beef shank+tripe with smoked tofu and edamame, the steamed sliced sole fillet with chili, and chicken feet. The chicken feet was tasted like it was flavored with more soy sauce than what I was used to. Otherwise, it was still good. The sliced sole was unusual when I first tried it, but I started to enjoy the dish more as time went on, especially over some rice. The hot braised dish combo had good flavor and a nice amount of heat. For me personally, getting it with tripe made the entire dish really enjoyable. The main reason I have difficulty giving a 5/5 is due to the price and how much I received as the total came to around $60-70 despite a fairly small amount of food and the quality of the food being good rather than great. If you are craving particularly Hunan food, the food will likely fill that craving but it is by no means a cheap place to go.

Yelp
I am happy this place opened - really like how they offer many authentic as well as Chinese American options. It looks the same as the previous restaurant that was here which is fine. The food was alright but they have such an extensive menu that I would like to go back and try different dishes! We got 3 different things: 1. Sticky rice with ribs and corn - this was only ok. I found this on other reviews but it just wasnt for me. I felt like the ribs were a bit bland and the corn didn't add very much either so it was just a lot of plain sticky rice. 2. Califlower with pork - this was my FAVORITE. Definitely going to reorder this. 3. Crispy sweet and spicy chicken - this was good but definitely extremely heavy in oil. It was one of those dishes you need to share with others... a few bites and you're good. Definitely crispy though so A+ for texture. Will definitely get takeout next time instead of dining in and try other dishes!

Yelp
Boiled fish with purple perilla. It was great eating first time, second time within several weeks, Shiso was not there like first time I ate, Vishal can see they may put 1 leaf shredded unlike last time I ate, it had a lot more Shiso flavor as well as leaves itself...

Yelp
Excellent food. Try the green pepper eggplant with century egg. Ask for it spicy, mash it up, and eat it with rice. It's amazing every time. Mao's red braised pork and soup bao are also very good.

Patrick M.

Yelp
How has it taken so long for me to get here?? I live in the area and have heard good things about the food and I have to admit I wasn't disappointed! The General Gao's chicken is probably the best in the area so I imagine I'll be ordering from there for pickup in the future. And the ambience for a Friday night was PERFECT and not too rowdy. One thing I found funny was I was with two of my friends and none of us are of Asian descent and it seemed like almost all other patrons were, so the staff asked us twice if we wanted cutlery instead of chopsticks and we said we were fine. But we found it funny because it felt like we were being called out for how white we are

Yelp
I'm from Hunan-Changsha. This is very authentic Hunan dish restaurant !! Probably one of the best in the U.S!. I'm visiting Boston this time, I wish I could have it everyday. This helps my food homesick I strongly recommend this place and please support their business

Pear B.

Yelp
Nice atmosphere. Different textures and flavors. Would go back. Order the eggplant with pa dan and fish in broth.

Yelp
I have been here 3 times. This is my 4th visit and may be the last visit. Every time I come here, the food quality becomes lower. The first visit really impressed me, the food was really Hunan style and authentic. The spicy level, dry crispy taste were very rich. Now the food are barely around average. The stinky tofu I had today was watery and even didn't get fried properly. It's not stinky and spicy at all. Fried clams were stuffed with sands in clam meat. They even use bell pepper instead of traditional spicy Chinese pepper. I really hope they can go back and acquire what they possessed.

Yelp
This is near BC campus and I heard this restaurant is a hit amongst BC Chinese students. Overall a great but expensive place for Hunan Food, as 2 appetizers and a main dish for 3 came up to around $70 - something total. The cold noodles are just ma, no la, but it's amazing. The flavors were bursting even though it's ma and paralyzes my tongue and it's so refreshing. I really liked the cucumbers (I usually hate cucumbers). 5/5 The mochi is warm and chewy, served alongside a flavorful brown sugar sauce. I wish I could bring the sauce home so I can make brown sugar milk tea at home. It's great, I wish the actual mochi was more flavorful because I need to cut it into little pieces and drown them in the sauce. 4/5 The beef in the golden sour soup was amazing. It was extremely flavorful and just the perfect thing to end off the night. The portion of this is also giant. My only complaint is that it isn't spicy enough. 5/5 The ambiance is great, service is great. The decor is really nice. They had a mini table ordering thing that doesn't work :( it would have been great if it did. I can't vouch for the authenticity of the food because I have never been to Hunan but my international Chinese friend said it is authentic. I can wholeheartedly say that it is one of the best Chinese, especially Hunan, restaurants in the Boston area.

Yelp
We had takeout from here about a week ago. I ordered the chicken and broccoli. The Hub got sesame chicken. I loved my meal! Thanks to being stomachless ,I got 3 meals out of it. It doesn't even lose flavor when reheated. My husband got 2 meals out of his. Online ordering was easy. You register by phone number and you get a code and then a text that the order has been confirmed. You pay as you usually would on a platform. No email confirmation. Will be coming back!
google avatar

Li S.

Yelp
Food is good, but they use paper containers for my to-go food with soup and sauce. Thanks to that, my car's truck is full of oil and sauce. :)

Jeffrey E.

Yelp
If you like food from the Hunan region (known for spicy food), this food is amazing. Stick to the authentic items on the menu and the food is great. My dad tried to order once, he ordered only the stuff he recognized from Americanized chinese food, and the food was just fine for what it was, but not nearly as tasty as the authentic items on the menu. Try the pea pod stems, healthy and delicious.
google avatar

Victor K.

Yelp
Tried Happy Hunan for the first time, based on other reviews. Got takeout - pea sprouts, sesame chicken and spicy crispy chicken. After tax and 10% tip it came to $80!! I'm not sure I can justify that cost (see portion size in pic). So, pretty expensive in my view. That said, the food was good, and ready in time. ¡NO unnecessary PLASTIC! They used waxed paper boxes for the less juicy stuff, and no stupid plastic cutlery. Thank you Happy Hunan for doing what every restaurant should have been doing for at least the last 3 decades! Also, the menu is diverse and interesting, and appears authentic to this admittedly unfamiliar patron. Lastly, the dining room was surprisingly large and inviting.

Yelp
A group of us stopped in before a BC football game and picked 3 different main dishes and shared them among our group. We got a beef, a pork and a chicken dish and some fried rice and they were all great, the crispy chicken was perfect and there was plenty for everyone. We'd be glad to go back and try some of the exotic items they had just to see what they were like.

Chuck L.

Yelp
Happy Hunan Kitchen: Delicious! From the service to the ambiance to the food itself, this place has it all! I got the steamed pork belly with mustard green, pepper and pork stir fry, golden beef soup, cauliflower and the spicy wings. With the exception of the wings, everything was super delicious. The pork was melt in your mouth tasty and the peppers and pork was spicy yet flavorful; both of these dishes made me eat three bowls of rice! The only thing I wouldn't recommend is the chicken wings. It was crispy and spicy, but the spice was a little overwhelming and it was a stranger spice than I was used to. But this could have just been due to personal preference. Overall, would highly recommend Happy Hunan Kitchen! Absolutely delicious and would come back.

Susan B.

Yelp
Very disappointed. Based on the reviews, expected so much more. Ribs were not outstanding, as they say in menu. Tough. Gristle in steak. Big globs of chicken in the Gaos.

Milan W.

Yelp
Very impressed by this restaurant. Food tasted like home cooked goodness without the typical grease one finds in some Chinese restaurants. We had the Shaomai (not the tiny "shumai" known by Americans but a Hunan specialty). My grandmother was from Hunan and used to make them when I was growing up. We also had the Mao red braised pork, stir fried Chinese lettuce and stir fried lotus roots. All were delicious. Can't wait to come back to explore the menu!
google avatar

Lucia M.

Yelp
The ordering and delivery of the meal was easy but the food definitely lacking. We ordered 4 dishes, and three were pretty flavorless, the 4th just barely better. Chicken and broccoli was the best, good quality ingredients but the sauce very plain. Scallion pancakes just tasted like fried dough, no real flavor, a noodle dish pretty greasy and a bit more spices and taste, and the smoked tofu really boring too. No veggies, not much taste. Disappointing.
google avatar

Adam G.

Yelp
Excellent spicy food. Favorite dishes are the eggplant with century egg, the fried green beans, and the noodles with pork.
google avatar

Yifei W.

Yelp
Really delicious and authentic Human food. One of my favorite Chinese restaurants in the area. Every dish is a highlight - the eggplant with century egg is extremely tasty (probably the best that I've ever had), the steamed fish fillet is very well-cooked and served in a impressive iron container, and the two other dishes are equally great. Would definitely love to visit again or order delivery.
google avatar

Sissi W.

Yelp
We ordered another delivery. This time we ordered the less spicy dishes, as sweet and sour short ribs糖醋排骨,stir-fried pork tripe葱香肚丝,scallion chicken 葱香鸡,thin-sliced beef in golden soup 酸汤肥牛, pepper eggplant and century egg (again)擂青椒茄子皮蛋. I typically did not order Chinese food in Boston as I have been quite picky about the taste of nostalgia. It's the first time I tired pig tripe but that has blown my mind! This restaurant did change my miserable life of not being able to go back home during the Covid pandemic...the other thing is, although items seems pricy in terms of Chinese food, the portion size is generous (even for appetizers) and the food is always high quality.
google avatar

Rebecca M.

Yelp
We ordered with Uber eats. Food came warm and well packed. The wings were excellent - spicy and tasty even after next day. The fish was packed nicely. My boyfriend really liked the pork and mustard but I didn't quite like the flavor. I generally did not like Chinese food delivery because it got oily and greasy but this was very nicely packed.
google avatar

Frank W.

Yelp
The food here is super authentic and delicious! Have greatly enjoyed every takeout so far! Fantastic work and service! 超级正宗!非常好吃!
google avatar

David S.

Yelp
Great food and atmosphere! Authentic food. Nice staff. Yea we liked it a lot. Will come back.
google avatar

Dani F.

Yelp
The food here is really high-quality. Very authentic and cooked with quality and taste in mind. Service is good too. Not those Chinese restaurants that make you wonder about their oil or leave your stomach feeling sick. Everything tastes so good. My favorite dishes are actually vegetable ones. For someone who doesn't like eating vegetables much, I can't stop eating their veggie dishes, esp the eggplant and string beans. Highly recommend!

Barbara Z.

Yelp
I rarely write any review, but I really can't help this time. My daughter loves a few dishes from this restaurant. When she came back from the college, she recommended to order the take out for here. Maybe due to the inflation, dishes are overpriced. A beef stew is $29!.95. Besides the price, I was so disappointed by a dish that I ordered to try something new- stir-fry tanyuan, it was completely different from what the had shown. For a few tanyuan(sticky rice balls), it was 25.95! What a ripoff!

Yelp
3 stars for now BUT I feel they can do much better, I see the potential, and will return to try other dishes at this restaurant. Things that went right Steamed Meat Bao Bao ( I like the cute name) - the bf said the filling taste really good but dough to meat ratio is off. Too much of the former although the steamed buns are light and fluffy. Need more meat game. Juicy Pork Dumplings - the family said filling taste great. Our bad since it's takeout and dumplings were cold when they got it. The skin tasted doughy when cold Chairman Mao Braised Pork - ordered less spicy for the nieces. They said it's flavorful Underwhelming dishes Stinky Tofu - Where is the stink? Seriously! Tasted more like regular tofu in a cumin flavored sauce Chef Hua's pan fried tofu - We asked for Hunan Spicy and were underwhelmed. We can see the pickled peppers in the broth but really, it was so mild that my nieces who can't eat spicy food said it's not spicy Service is friendly. Waited for a little while even though we ordered it online and arrived 5 mins after the pick up time. Minor flaw. Will return and try other dishes. We see potential with the steamed buns and would love to try their sticky rice dumplings.

Tina L.

Yelp
This is a restaurant that my family regularly goes to when we crave for authentic, spicy Chinese food. There are some great dishes, like steam fish and stir fry. The ambiance is pretty great (we love the music). Last night, they messed up our order and made us wait for 30+ mins, but they were honest and polite, giving us a 15% discount at the end. So we didn't leave feeling unsatisfied or angry.

Sue D. N.

Yelp
Best Hunan food in Boston. This is really a 4.5 star review with the added caveat because some dishes are hit or miss (for dishes that are more regional specialities outside of Hunan, for example) and can be a bit pricey. However, the actual Hunan food is amazing - I am obsessed with the chicken gizzard w/ green beans. They have an online ordering system that's pretty convenient (with some UX improvements needed) and while I've only ever ordered takeout, the staff has been really friendly every time I've gone to pick up my order.

Tara T.

Yelp
This place is awesome! I don't know about what used to be here -- sushi??? -- but this place is super legit, delicious Hunan food. (If you've never had it, you've gotta try it -- you might be forgiven if you mistake it for Sichuan cuisine but just because it's spicy doesn't mean it's the same! Hunan cuisine is one of the great 8 sub-cuisines of China and it's excellent: spicy, yes, but also really complex; plays with sour, savory flavors much more often.) We got takeout via Doordash (COVID, hooray) and it came on time, hot, and delicious. We got the sticky rice with steamed ribs and corn ($22), the sauteed Chinese cauliflower with pork belly ($16ish), the chicken gizzards with pickled longbeans, and the pork lard fried rice. Everything was excellent. The fried rice was rich and aromatic without relying overly on salt. The gizzards were great -- the longbeans do a lot to offset the gamey taste and texture of gizzards. The cauliflower was to die for, and the ribs were also beautifully tender and flavorful. Total, we paid $85 after tip (delivery was free). Portions were generous; if the food weren't so delicious, we probably would've had enough for 5 meals (2 people)... I can't wait to order takeout from this place again, and visit in person after all this is over! Hunan cuisine is going to be the next hot thing in the same way Sichuan was 5 years ago, and I'm here for it.

Yelp
Sad to see this place doesn't have more reviews! I don't know what Hunan food is supposed to be like, but everything I've gotten from here has been super tasty, and also a nice departure from typical Chinese-American takeout. My fav dish from here has been the steamed pork ribs over sticky rice and corn. The porky flavor infuses the rice and sweet corn and it's soooo good. The corn almost tastes like sweet cornbread thanks to all the fat and sticky rice surrounding it. We also got the spicy chicken gizzards. For the record, I'm a wimp and ordered everything on the "less spicy" scale, which turned out to be the perfect spice level for me. I'm glad they offer like real deal spicy for heat-lovers, but also respect kinda wimpy folks like me :) Gizzards sounds weird, but combined with rice reminded me a lot of a southern dirty rice, except a little more acidic and spicy. The cauliflower dish was fantastic because they were stir fried with bacon. Reminded me of a lighter, crunchier version of collard greens and lardons. I guess I don't know anything about Hunan food, but the strong, fatty and smoky flavors kinda reminds of American southern food. Anyway, this place has proven itself to me. I'd feel confident ordering any dish, even though I don't know what any of them are supposed to be like. But I'm sure they'll all be fun and delicious surprises!

Yelp
Foods are great but the girl answering phone is not helpful and unnecessarily arrogant.

Yelp
I tried My Happy Hunan Kitchen through Doordash and it was fantastic! I ordered the Chicken Gizzard with Pickled Greens ($17.95) with Hunan Level spice. I love Chicken Gizzards but I haven't tried it this way. The gizzards were thinly cut so that it wasnt overly chewy. The pickled greens were spicy and tangy. The flavors were so robust. It was quite oily but I think it is inevitable when it comes to dishes like this. It was also an easy fix to drain it out! The hunan level spice definitely got me sweating and eating ice cream afterwards. I highly suggest this level if you love spicy food. The price is pretty steep but I think that the quality and generous portions make up for it. I was only able to eat 1/4 of it and I froze the leftovers to enjoy in the future.

Yelp
Ordered from this place tonight after walking past it every day. Got the pork dumplings, fried string beans and eggplant, and sesame chicken. Holy cow, this place is delicious. The quality of the food is really high. The produce is fresh and the meat is choice cuts. Will be coming back constantly.
