My Neighbours The Dumplings in Victoria Park is a charming dim sum haven serving up innovative dumplings and drinks in a trendy, half-outdoor space.
"You wouldn’t expect that the Victoria Park location of My Neighbours The Dumplings has an outside area and that’s because, well, sometimes it doesn’t. The interior patio of this buzzy dim sum spot has a roof in winter but in warmer months they whip it off. It makes for a lovely in between on sunny days. Not quite totally outside, nor totally inside either. Basically, it’s perfect for a British summer." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak, sinead cranna
"Candles are the key to surviving the winter blues. At least that’s what we like to tell ourselves while investing in our 12th cinnamon spice candle of the season. You’ll find a whole lot of long candles jammed into old wine bottles at this cool, dim sum parlour in Clapton and importantly, great har gau, siu mai, and crispy wontons too. Be sure to order the steamed cake with banoffee sauce before you leave. Caramel sauce is critical for your energy levels to manage the freezing bus ride home, right? " - Heidi Lauth Beasley, Rianne Shlebak, Sinead Cranna
"It may shock you to hear this, but My Neighbours The Dumplings specialises in dumplings, and they are absolutely what you should be spending 20-odd quid on for Thursday night dinner if you’re around Victoria Park. The prawn har gau and pork and prawn siu mai are essentials: lump and packed, like a carry on suitcase with a month’s worth of clothes inside. Plus they’re only £5 a portion." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak, eileen twum
"Technically, your friend has lived in over 30 different countries in less than three decades of living. Yes, that two hour stopover in Seoul does grant resident status, apparently. Don’t overthink it. Just head to My Neighbours The Dumplings in Victoria Park to celebrate their latest (month-long) home instead. The walk-in only policy makes this tastefully trendy Chinese spot perfect for fluctuating numbers, while steamed prawn dumplings and sake are a brilliant sharing and kind-of-caring meal." - jake missing, rianne shlebak
"Delivery to surrounding areas from Clapton and Victoria Park. Your search history is filled with tutorials on ‘how to fold a dumpling’, and montages of floating bamboo steamers. But you can actually see some dim sum IRL by ordering from this Chinese spot in Hackney. They’re delivering sui gok, potstickers, and rice boxes from both their Victoria Park and Clapton locations, or you can click and collect if you’re passing by." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak
