The 34 Best Athens Restaurants - Eater

"Inspired by a similar cafe in Scotland, Myrtillo Cafe is the first food business in Athens fully co-owned and co-operated by people living with disabilities. Among the dishes made with mostly organic ingredients, you can find homemade pies, such as the famous Sfakian cheese pie and the verdant fennel pie, along with sandwiches, baguettes, and bruschettas. The desserts are also delicious, with options including various cakes and sweet fruit pies. [$]" - Demetrios Ioannou

A Beautiful Café with a Beautiful Mission – Myrtillo Café Visiting Myrtillo Café in Athens was an absolute joy. Not only is it a cozy and welcoming spot to enjoy a great cup of coffee, but it’s also a place with real heart and purpose. I truly admire and appreciate the impact this café is making by empowering people from vulnerable social groups through meaningful employment and inclusion. The team was incredibly kind, attentive, and made the experience even more special. You can feel the positive energy the moment you walk in. The beverages were excellent—carefully prepared and served with pride—and the overall atmosphere was peaceful, creative, and uplifting. Myrtillo is more than just a café—it’s a place that nourishes both body and soul. I highly recommend stopping by not only for the great drinks, but also to support the amazing work they’re doing. A true gem in Athens! Best regards, Moldova 🇲🇩 team!

It is a excellent place combining social responsibikity and good service. They support disabled persons by hiring them and providing afgordable and cosy food and drink experience. They also have a very nice big room for arrangements.

One of my favourite places in Athens. I am happy and fortunate to live near this cafe. A quiet place to drink your coffee, to meet up with your friends and let your children to communicate with other children while playing in the park. The staff is the best part of the experience the coffee place gives you. It makes you feel that you do something to make the world a better place.

Happened across this place as we cut across a park between some apartment buildings. Stopped in for a break and a beer and there was a Doctors Without Borders meeting taking place. Learned some things, met some friendly folks, and had a decent beer. Lots of kids and parents playing in the park next door. Very relaxed simple place. Good art on the walls.

Beautiful place with rich history (past and present). It is on a quiet square so you can chill while being in the city center. Based on my experience, good selection of beers and nice food. The place where the events are held is beautiful, filled with antique machinery.

A unique place. If you haven't already visited, please do so. It offered me a life changing experience and I felt extremely proud of the staff there. Besides, they were very helpful and joyous. Prices are low and the interior minimal including handcrafted items. Ideal for studying or group meetings/projects.
