17 Satisfying Soups to Keep You Cozy in Los Angeles

"Haejangguk, or literally hangover soup, is part of the name of this trio of Korean restaurants located in Gardena, La Cañada-Flintridge, and Arcadia. Myung Ga’s sparse, brightly lit interiors also help combat hangovers or slow mornings, but inside the stone bowl, an umami-riddled beef broth holds in chopped cabbage, brisket, and cubes of pig’s blood, making this soup one of the most aggressively flavored in the Korean cuisine canon. Don’t fear the blood though, they’re actually mild and taste almost like earthy, irony tofu whose minerals and nutrition will give anyone a burst of energy." - Eater Staff

The 16 Best Hangover Meals In LA

"When a dish is literally named “hangover soup,” you know it’s going to be good for what ails you. And at soup specialist Myung Ga, which has locations in Gardena and Arcadia, the spicy haejanguk—a crimson-colored soup made with bean sprouts, radish, cabbage, ox blood cubes, and beef brisket—is practically a life-giving tonic on days when that brain fog won’t lift. Alternate sips of the rich beef stock with bites of white rice and kimchi, and you’ll be back to your soju-sipping ways in no time. Be sure to ask for refills of their free iced barley tea, too—we’ll take it over a bottle of Pedialyte any day. " - kat hong, brant cox, sylvio martins, garrett snyder

I was really craving the jokbal I used to eat in Korea, and this place delivered exactly that taste! The meat was tender and chewy, perfectly seasoned—just like back home. The kind and considerate service from the staff made the experience even more enjoyable. The kongguksu (soybean noodle soup) had a rather mild flavor, not particularly rich, but it was decent and ordinary.

Love the pork Cutlet. Lots of side dishes. Flavor is really good. Love the kimchi. Cabbage is nicely cut. Mash potato is good as well. Over all I give this dish a 5 stars. Really good customer service.

Wow! The store was spacious and clean, so my first impression was good. I tried the hangover soup that was recommended to me, and it tasted similar to what I used to eat in Korea. In Korea, people eat a lot of hangover soup or soup with rice to ease their stomachs the day after drinking. It was delicious. The haejangguk had a broth base with just the right amount of cabbage and meat, so it was spicy and not too spicy. This is a restaurant where you can eat the Seonjihaejangguk and Sundae that you saw in Korean dramas. Go and try it once!! I always want to visit again. I got the feeling that the store was clean, and as expected, the food was also prepared cleanly and well.

Spicy Sundaeguk tastes so good! Yukgaejang has great portions. I can’t finish in one meal. Side dishes are tasty as well. Very clean and organized dining experience.

Great addition to the South Bay! They offer traditional Korean hearty soups that are both generously sized and delicious. As fall and winter rolls around, everything they offer here will hit the spot. They offer complimentary kimchi, radishes, rice, and even give you a giant bowl of scallion to kick your soup up another notch. No longer will you need to go deep into Gardena or K-Town to satisfy your cravings. Service is fast and so friendly that it felt like I was eating home cooked meals at my friends. Utensils are stored on the side of each table just like the restaurants in Korea. They have a simple menu of 15 main items, but everything looked so appetizing that I had analysis paralysis. Plenty of free parking in the strip mall. I will be coming back to try new items! Expect to pay $25-35 per person (tax + tip included).

Our go to pho place in this plaza was closed and so we were walking around hoping for some soup based food. Saw this new restaurant and decided to check it out Food/Taste/Flavor: 4/5 - the to go food does come very well packaged with single use plastic topper that's sealed on top. Ensures the food doesn't spill but was tough to store leftovers #1: Sunji Haejangguk (ox bone broth with ox blood and beef brisket) was spicy and a tad bit sour. The ox blood was earthy with a soft and slightly bouncy texture. It was a bit overwhelming in flavor so we wished there was a bit more rice. 3/5 #10: Galbitung (beef short rib soup) was the recommendation and it was absolutely amazing!!! The meat was tender and pretty much falling off the rib but still has a nice bite. The soup was flavored nicely with a nice savoriness without it being too queasy. The soup does come salted already but we thought it was well seasoned. 5/5 The kimchi doesn't seem like it was marinated long enough as it was more on the bland side but the radish was really good.... We actually mixed the kimchi into the haejangguk to have better flavors :x Ambience: N/A - ordered food to go. Really bright fluorescent light. Spacious and well ventilated. No decorations on the wall and the tables and chairs look brand new Service: 5/5 - slight communication difficulties but the auntie was really nice and tried her best. We were able to get everything ordered and she invited us to sit while we waited for the food Value for price: 4/5 - on the pricier side but good soup and a very healthy serving

Google
It is always excited to see new authentic Korean soup place opened in the Gardena area. They have one of the best Sunji and Soondaeguk in Gardena or even LA! They are very authentic, and the food quality is very good. The staffs are all Korean and they are very friendly. However, the price is on an expensive side and the portion size of the soup is very standard. I wish they can provide more variety of side dishes other than radish and kimchi. Quick tips: The restaurant is located between a tobacco/liquor and con laundry from the most far east (near Carl’s Jr) of the plaza. There are plenty of parking spots.

Yelp
Delicious food. Quickly made. I love to get a soup here. Straightforward. I take my mom here and she loves it.

Yelp
Spicy soondaeguk 4/5 A tad bit more spicy than expected, in a good way $20+/person after tax and tip for gukbap (soup) is very pricey ($25 bowl of soup)

Yelp
One of my favorite spots for Galbi-tang! I've been to the locations in Arcadia and La Canada and they have been consistently good, so I'm glad to have found another one of their locations in Gardena! This small restaurant serves authentic, comforting Korean soups and dishes that hit the spot whenever I'm craving a comforting meal. They don't give much banchan but their kimchi cabbage is delicious. Their galbitang is a pretty large portion that comes with several tender beef short ribs with glass noodles in a comforting broth. The servers are attentive and the restaurant itself is pretty spacious and good for large groups. I would definitely recommend checking out and supporting this hidden spot!

Yelp
Casual Korean eating in Gardena! The business seems mostly takeout from people on the way home, but service is great, and the specials are amazing! We've been here twice to enjoy some tofu pork belly stew, bossam, and a Seolleongtang so far. Portions are huge, prices are reasonable for the size. Definitely recommend stopping by for some jjigae.

Yelp
Not acquired to Korean cuisine. My friend wanted to come here and I was open to try new things. Myung Ga Haejangguk has plenty of parking and lots of seatings inside. It was empty on Saturday night during dinner time which I felt bad for the business owner. I ordered the brisket soup. My friend ordered the dangmyun soondae which they described to me as blood sausage. I tried a slice of it and it wasn't for me. You must have an acquired taste for that sausage. My soup came as well as korean side dishes. My soup also came with a bowl of rice. I thought the soup was very light. I personally like strong flavors so I couldn't taste anything. For the brisket, I thought they didn't put much brisket inside my soup. I saw my friends' soup and they got large chunks of meat. My soup was mostly liquid and few slices of brisket and little bit of noodle. In the end, I thought my portion size was little and I actually went to fast food afterwards. For the amount of food I got, I thought it was a bit pricey but you are paying for them for this business to survive. My friend loves korean food and she enjoyed it. I don't eat too much Korean food so didn't enjoy it as much as my friend. This business pretty much targets Korean customers. Would love to see their food adjusted to cater to more wider audience to attract more diverse customers. That's just my personal opinion and should be taken with a grain of salt.

Yelp
Myung Ga Haejangguk is a small restaurant, but delivers sooo much flavor. Their menu showcases traditional Korean soups and specialize in beef bone broth or pork bone broth. My favorites are the Spicy Galbitang and the Tukbaegi Bulgogi. I love that their soups come out piping hot, exactly how I love my soups! Their side dishes are very simple and they only serve pickled radish and kimchi. It's so good that they have a sign on the wall that you cannot get leftover side dishes to go! I'm sure some people tried to hack the system. Hah! -Spicy Galbitang - beef short ribs, glass noodles, garlic, scallions with spicy beef broth -Sullungtang - brisket, rice noodles, scallions with ox bone broth Fun fact: They store the utensils in a drawer on the side of the table! Talk about maximizing utilization of space! Instagram: @jessgoeat

Yelp
Food was delicious! I had the pork's belly soup. I've only had pork belly grilled so it was new to see it in a hot soup. Service was great and ambiance is nice. There's lots of seats and room for everyone to eat.

Yelp
Ambiance: it's a new Korean comfort food place opened in South Bay, shared parking lots with other merchants Service: super friendly and patient with questions, provided useful suggestion Food: simple menu items, mainly for beef soup and pork dishes Banchan - **** limited kinds daikon and cabbage, but very fresh and tasty kimchi, recommend Galbitang - ***** Beef Short ribs, Glass Noodles, Scallion with Beef Broth, slowly cooked meat and broth, highly recommend Jokbal - ***** Herbal Flavored Pork Feet and Hocks Slices, Sweet Radish Kimchi, Fresh Lettuce, Garlic, Pepper, chewy meat and tasty with sauces, highly recommend Price: generous portions and reasonable prices, about $45 per person

Very good and authentic Korean restaurant at great prices. The portions are generous and the service is attentive.

Yelp
I decided to give this new place a shot and I was pleasantly surprised. Upon entering I was welcomed by such friendly staff and a bright and clean interior. The waitress answered any questions we had regarding the different soups available and I ultimately decided on the sullungtang. When it came, it was SO hot but amazingly flavorful. It was such a comfort food and felt like a hug as I was eating it. They also provided tongs and scissors to cut the meat off of the bone which was really helpful. I'll be back for more!

Yelp
For Korean soup (gujbap, as well as yukgaejang, boiled pork, Korean tonkatsu, etc.) this has been our go-to. Sure, there are more popular places in Ktown, but the food here is just as great and parking is always available. Pork gukbap is great. I hope this restaurant does well.

Yelp
Worst Korean place I prob ever been to in a while lol. Kimchi was good but that's it. Sulungtung, sausage blood, short rib soup with noodles all were horrible. Service was bad.. it was so awful and so expensive. The rice was sooooooo bad. Like fast food cheap Chinese rice lol. Actually I think they are even better. This place is for that 3am after club place you go lol but Hodori was better. Sorry, I really wanted to like the food but everything was either way too bland or too sweet.
google avatar

Kayanne G.

Yelp
The food tastes good, and the staff is nice and polite. We got the bossam and spicy galbitang. It took a while for the food to come so I wonder if they make everything to order. It wasn't a busy night so I know it wasn't a staffing issue since the staff was just standing at the counter. The table has a drawer for utensils so you don't need to ask the staff for it. Convenient. Cons -super bright office lights for ambience -food took quite some time to come -cannot justify spending $100 for the portions or the experience

Yelp
So, I was craving some Seoul food. It's how I ended up here. Ended up with my choice of parking. It was a really early dinner for me. Seemed like the plaza was closed. If you don't know the plaza, there's tons of parking. Free too. Go there. You'll see what I mean. Walked in. I'm the only customer. So, ya know service will be excellent. It was. The staff was so friendly. Even as other customers came in, I didn't even have to gesture to get anyone's attention. I felt like I was in their home and they were making sure I was taken care. As for the food, I enjoyed it. It's not bland - don't forget to add seasoning (salt and scallions) to your taste. Comes out hot and fast. And don't be shy - ask for more banchan. It's not spicy and I don't mean Ran spice. I felt like the spices were a little muted to avoid burning anyone out. Overall, a good experience that hit the spot. I'd even go back next time I have another craving.
google avatar

Jaike L.

Yelp
Slow service and mediocre food quality. Not so many customers but only two waitresses were serving. They were not able to clean up the tables after customers were gone. No reception available. Customers enter the door and stand there. They don't get introduced to a table. We waited 15 min for ordering and waited another 30 min until the food was served. I wish the quality of food were good. Not even close. (The food price is crazy. $19.00 for Sundae Soup? You have to pay $23 including tax and tip. I can't understand the price in Korean restaurants these days. ) I don't recommend this place.
google avatar

Troy D.

Yelp
Insanely good. Competitive to K Town and saves you a long trip if you're from Torrance or Gardena. The Bossam has a huge serving (see photo) and paired with the Seoulonggtang it's just perfect. Price is just right. Probably even beats Korea. A++

Yelp
Arriving from a long flight, I was craving a hot bowl of Bone Broth Dish. On the way to San Diego, I stop by in Artesia Blvd area in Torrance looking for a Korean Restaurant. Found this place and just walked in without thinking twice. A lady attended us very politely and gave us the menu. I ordered the numbers 8, Ox Knee, Scallions with Ox Bone Broth Dish. For some of us this is energy builder when we are tired or coming out of a bad cold. Any way the Broth was really great with all the ingredients. How good? Completely forgot to take the picture for here. The dish comes with out salt so you will need to add a bit of salt to adjust the flavor you desire. My way of eating is, first I eat all the meat and cartilage from the broth and then put my rice in it to make like porridge and finish the bowl. With some Kimchi and Kak-do-gi (Radish Kimchi) it makes a perfect pair. The ambiance is very common place with out anything that stand but, is maintained clean. People who does workout and physical training, I definitely recommend here to try. There are other items too that it looked pretty savory. Oh. Other thing. Their portion is pretty good size.

Yelp
Highly recommend!!! So glad to finally have an authentic Korean food place near us. This will definitely be one of our go to spots. Portions are large and price is affordable! Great for large families and crazy children! Sending through 5 stars to make sure this place never leaves us. Not sure what all the 1 star people are talking about but the food was great. Felt like home and they gave great service. We will be back!!

Yelp
1. Mixed haejangguk; (2 level spicy): mixed beef 2. Spicy soondaeguk: (4 level spicy): mixed pork Both soups were flavorful besides being spicy. Spice levels not that hot. The beef itself was a little bit tough. Only weird thing was when we were taking the rest of the food to go, they wouldn't let us take the last bits of the banchan home. It's not like they were going to reuse it so why couldn't we take it home Update: Had the nonspicy version of the above soup as takeout. The brother was not flavorful. Definitely have to add a lot of salt. Would definitely get the spicy version. The takeout containers are well packed. Comes with a little plastic tool to open them.

Yelp
I really like kalbi tang so whenever I see it on the menu I like to order it. The kalbi tang here was just ok. The flavor was a little lacking. I also tried the tukbaegi bulgogi, which was a little too greasy and sweet for me.
google avatar

Bruce L.

Yelp
This place specializes in blood sausage soup, but that's not really my jam(blood clot? Lol) so we just tried their other soups and they were really good! Kind of sounds gross but actually many cultures have their own version of blood sausage. In Korea, blood sausage soup is considered one of the premier hangover meals and doesn't taste gross at all. Their Sul lung tang(bone broth soup) was good but their kalbi tang(short rib soup) was amazing. The balance of sweet and savory was just right! And, they had four pieces of meat in there! Usually, three is standard, two is ok if they're bigger, one is just sad(and cheap). The yukgaejang(spicy fern soup) was really good as well. A little too spicy for me, im kind of a lightweight, but the flavor of the broth was spot on. I actually prefer the yukgaejang at Palsaik bbq but my wife tells me the flavor here is more on the money with what a true yukgaejang should taste like even though she likes the Palsaik one more as well. They put leeks in theirs, which we thoroughly enjoy. Also, the portion is quite generous! I have to comment on the banchans(side dishes). There are only two which is fairly standard for a soup place but the flavor is so good that I don't need 6-7 varieties. The Napa kimchi is on the fresher side which I prefer and has a nice pronounced sesame flavor. The radish kimchi was a little more ripe than I like but still very good, sweet and tangy. This place is such a welcome addition to the other Korean restaurants in the neighborhood. I hope they continue to refine their offerings and remain for a long time. Btw, the ladies are very nice and speak English as well as Korean.

Yelp
The resto just opened last week. The spaxw is large and clean. The staff friendly and efficient. The food was delicious. This place has easily La dead on our repeat list. The banchan was radish, kimchi and greens. I especially liked the radish and greens. We ordered: Sullungtang Spicy Pork Gukbop The Gukbop is definitely spicy! It has a nice kick. The sullungtang is quite the opposite. You can add salt and pepper at your discretion. We're looking forward to our next visit so we can try the other items. The table next to us ordered the Jokbal. We might try that when we next visit!

Yelp
So Ive been here about 4 times. The first two times everything was great. The food and service was great. The 3rd and 4th time the service was good and the food is good except that I found a strand of hair in my food. The first time I convinced myself it was may be my hair or my friend sitting next to me but the 4th time I visited it happened again. Who ever is cooking should wear a hair net... Both times it was just one but still. Other then thar the food is actually very tasty, you gey large portion snd its fairly priced. I wont be back though because of the mentioned reason. too bad.

Yelp
I ate gamjatang and it's so good. I don't have to drive to ktown for gamjatang when I feel like it. Their kimchi is one of the best in southbay. I will tru galbitang next.

Yelp
Authentic fire korean food Definitely coming back for more. The hospitality was one of the best I experienced

Yelp
The kalbi tang is so delicious. I like the part it came with the sauce for the beef as well. Side dishes like kimchi is delicious too, with a little sweet taste. I ordered for to go, it's good that soup and anything else are in sealed bowls, don't need to worry about spilling out.

Yelp
Was excited to try out this new Korean soup place. It was a cloudy day, prompting a visit for a warm bowl of soup. I tried the mixed haejangguk which had good flavor. Their bowls keep the soup very hot even until you're done with your meal which was a plus. Also very good radish kimchi. I would come back again and try other soups.
google avatar

Patricia L.

Yelp
I love haejangguk. It literally translates to hangover soup. The soup itself is a beef broth with some spice to wake you up and is typically served with blood cakes. This place serves one of the best haejangguk I've tried in the States. It still isn't quite at the level of my dad's favorite spot in Seoul, but it's still really good. It was flavorful, and the blood cakes were also really good. I did notice that a lot of their menu are spicy. The haejangguk wasn't too spicy for me, but I'm sure it could be too spicy for people with less of a tolerance. My husband ordered the spicy galbitang, and it was definitely spicier than the haejangguk. It wasn't too much to handle, but definitely make note that the little chili signs on the menu are there for a reason. Although we got the food as takeout, the restaurant does seem roomy, so I'd like to come back again!
google avatar

Kim T.

Yelp
My bf and I were really excited to try this new Korean restaurant in our area! And we were beyond impressed with Myung Ga Haejangguk. I have high expectations for galbitang and this restaurant knocked it out of the park!!! The flavor was perfect. I added ground pepper for some spice, but the broth was perfect! There were 4 big rib bones with lots of meat on them. The meat was so tender and fall off the bone! Oh and the radish kimchi is the best that I've ever had anywhere! Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Sunday evening ~ 5:30pm 1) mixed Sullang tang (forgot to picture!) - remember to season with THE salt and scallions they provide! 2) pollock soup DELICIOUS soups - the Adults AND our children enjoyed the soups with white rice providers. Only hubby ate the sides because we don't prefer spicy so IDK ‍ if sides are exceptional or not since it depends on your personal preference! DEFINITELY return to try other soups!!!

Yelp
Just look at the picture. This restaurant is a hidden gem in Gardena. I have been here two times and ordered the same items on both visit and they do not disappoint. Yukgaejang is a traditional Korean spicy beef soup with scallions and glass noodles. As a Korea American I've tried many Yukgaejang's in my time and this place is at the top of my list. The spice level is just right and all the ingredients inside make it just the perfect bite. The bossam is a Korean cuisine that consists of pork shoulder that is boiled in spices and cut thinly. The quality of the pork here is great and the price that they charge here is way less compared to other restaurants in LA. Their bossam comes with jalapeño slices, garlic, cabbage, and spicy radish. The ladies who work here are so sweet and very hospitable. Every time I come here I feel like my aunt is serving me a home cooked meal. If you are in the area and are looking for good Korean food, come here!

Yelp
Little spicy but it was good Steff is really friendly Barley tea is plus I would come here again

Yelp
Good food good service. Just cause i went there at 12:30 (peak lunch time, of course) the food came out a lil slow but the soup was still bubbling from the heat and radish kimchi had the right texture so was napa kimchi. I am planning to bring my folks next time.

Yelp
Hello citizens I want to share my experience at Myung Ga Korean Cuusine. It was delicious . We had the Galbutang, The Ganjatang and the wooguji Galbutang. It was all so fresh and delicious. It came with their delicious kimchi. We did take out and it was packaged perfect. The service was friendly and quick. The Ambience was just all right. It was clean . And there were Koreans dining in and they seem to be completely content and enjoying the food. I will be back for sure.

Yelp
Brand new authentic Korean soup place at South Bay. The side dishes are so delicious, the place is so clean with traditional flavors. The Korean auntie here is so sweet and nice! Definitely running here for hangover soup when I have a big night out.

Lyanne M.

Yelp
The restaurant was a little difficult to locate since it's tucked away in a plaza. I've been to the Arcadia location before and this location is actually closer to where I live. Parking was easy, thankfully. I am absolutely obsessed with the spicy galbitang here! It is so flavorful and delicious with an amazing portion size. I love how they serve it to you steaming hot and boiling! I am also a sucker for bossam, and I really enjoyed it here! Serrano peppers are a nice touch. The service is so wonderful as well, with the servers checking in often and assisting with packaging leftovers. They are so sweet. I enjoyed the peaceful ambience of this restaurant as well; they had some K-pop playing on their TV but it wasn't super loud or anything. I am definitely coming back again and again for that spicy galbitang; I am always thinking about it LOL.

Esther C.

Yelp
Came here craving something warm and spicy and this hit the spot. The soup was good and large portions, but more than that I was so impressed with the service. I've had my fair share of bad experiences with service in K-Town so I'm always a bit weary about Korean restaurants. However, the server here was so attentive and friendly. She was cracking jokes about my husbands sweater, and she came by frequently to ask if we needed anything, and she even brought me a to-go container without me asking for one. She had a really good sense of what we needed and was warm and friendly throughout our time there. I would highly recommend this place!

Yelp
We came here on a quiet Friday night. The lights were super bright inside. It was early in the evening and there was only one table with people in the entire restaurant. I noticed they were Koreans. So we were brave enough to try out this new place, knowing that Koreans do eat here. It didn't disappoint. We ordered one bossam and one spicy pork bone soup with potato. I asked for not so spicy. The soup came out perfect. The three of us were really full and with some leftover bossam for the next day. Yum! By the time we were leaving, a lot more people came to enjoy their dinner. Interestingly they had a sign about not taking the leftover banchan home. They were generous with the refills. But I guess they didn't want you to abuse it and take them home. That's fair. We will be back again for more yummy soup and bossam for sure!

Yelp
The food is great, but the main problem is the guy server here who is very rude. I am writing this review for my family members. They tried to order for takeout and he responded that he cannot take the order because he is "too busy." Another time he said he can't take their order because "there is no rice." They told him they will wait and that's when he checked with the kitchen and told them it will take 5 minutes. That's the response he should've told them from the beginning not just say he cannot take the order. Another rude thing he does is that when my family members talk to him in Korean he responds in English when he clearly speaks Korean. All Korean restaurants will speak to older people in Korean so I don't know why he is being a dick about that when my family members can hear him talk to other employees in Korean, super rude. And when asked if he speaks Korean he straight up ignored them. We gave this restaurant many chances because of the food and the lady server who was wonderful, but will no longer be supporting this establishment because of that guy server. If the management can see this, please train him better or let him go because he is ruining your business!

Yelp
I've ordered pick up the first time and all the employees were welcoming and nice. I'm not the biggest fan of Korean food but I really enjoyed the food here and the broth was good! People complain about the banchan being sweet but I personally enjoy that. Now, my most recent visit, I ate inside and the vibes were off. The younger girl (she wasn't that young, just compared to everyone else, she would've been the youngest) working wasnt very friendly and mind you, the place wasn't busy either. For someone who also works in customer service, I know we all have bad days, but there was nothing friendly about her and the way she took our order was abrupt and she just turned around and left as soon as we gave her the order. No "thank you" or an "okay" or any acknowledgment. She obviously didn't want to be there. The service just sucked. Such a shame cause the food is good, but the bad service turns me off. Not sure if I'll be coming back

Yelp
Naaaah! Fail. Wrong slices of meat and full of MSG in sulungtang. Worst in recent memory. You see, this is all about the right palate. They just can't pull if off. Totally off on their flavor. Do not recommend.

Yelp
Wow. First bite I took, I knew it was going to be good. But it gets better. I have really high standards for gookbab. I have had tons of it before in Korea and went around in Korea searching for the best gookbab. I think this place is really good and you won't regret it. Other places have their broth very meaty and greasy but this place has their broth to a perfect balance just the way I like it. Their service is friendly and fast. I'm sure I'll be coming here a lot more.

Yelp
Great food and great service for a very good price :)) I had the gamjatang and there was plenty of potatoes and beef (some places skimp out on beef or have an overbearing amount of beef compared to potatoes). Kimchi here is also very good. Great place to stop by for lunch or dinner. Best hospitality and service among Korean restaurants in the South Bay in my 20+ years living here!

Yelp
Soft opening may be the reason... Not sure but the order was all wrong.... Got the wrong soup... just ate it because I didn't want to wait longer.... Ordered Soondae soup and it was nothing special where i would go out of my way to visit again... Was so excited to see a new restaurant open up but wish it was better... High ratings makes me wonder if it was written by friends of the restaurant because it really was NOT the BEST Spicy Soondae place... from ratings of 1-10 it was more like 5... it wasn't bad but it wasn't good either.. Place is clean and large so you are not so close to other people eating.

Yelp
Cabbage kimchi is sour with a bit sweetness to it, which I love. Kkakdugi was also good with hint of sugar. Combination haegangguk was spicy enough (I can handle spicy), so I would probably not going with dishes that is hotter than the 2-chili sign. I like pork blood and this is my first time trying the cow blood and like it. Cow knee soup was on the light side, not sure if this is just their style, so I will try it again or try the galbi tang. Also want to try the jokbal or busam.

Yelp
Serving sizes were huge! I'm still full from this meal as I write this. Everything was delicious and our waiter was really nice. He explained everything and recommended how to eat our soup with the seasonings given to us on the side. A really lovely experience and my first time trying soondaeguk! I've been wanting to try it for so long. I'm glad I waited until I came here.

Yelp
Went to their soft opening and I was excited to try this new Korean restaurant nearby. It's in a plaza with plenty of parking available so that's a plus. The staff is very friendly. You get free banchan and barley tea which is nice. The food is really good and satisfying. Definitely worth the visit. I would come here again!
