I first visited this place a long time ago with family and I remember it started my love for Korean food. I know business is slower for them since a lot of other Korean and Asian restaurants of opened nearby, but this is still an amazing place. The restaurant was clean and the staff was kind, attentive, and very helpful. The menu is missing some items but the food is still delicious. The side dishes (banchan) were very flavorful and savory, and some were served warm which was a nice change from all the cold dishes we are used to always getting. Not a single one tasted bad and my family ate every single bit. The lunches were delicious and were large, filling portions. We had the beef and pork bulgogi. The meat was well marinated and tender, sliced thinner than some other places, which made it tastier and easy to many with just a fork or chopsticks. My family ordered one dinner dish, Kkanpunggi, and the portion was huge! And the staff had no trouble making it spicier when requested. My family liked it so much more than our regular Korean restaurant that now it'll have to be our go to. Highly recommend this place! (Excuse the messiness of the plates in the photos, my family couldn't wait to eat)

This was my first time at this restaurant and I have to say the food and service was incredible. I ordered the kan pung gi which was deliciously crispy and full of flavor with the perfect amount of spicy. My boyfriend ordered the daeji bulgogi and usually he's not the type to eat kimchi but this place made it so perfectly that he ate everything. The prices match the portion you're getting and the quality as well. The server was so kind and attentive I didn't catch his name but he was really nice. I wish this restaurant got more attention instead of the chain k bbq places

Google
We were in Texas for the Seventeen concert and saw this place. Super good and amazing prices!!! Will come again if I’m in town again. We got the lunch special - beef bulgogi and it was so worth it. The portions were a decent size. The gentleman working was super sweet!

Google
This is one of the best Korean Mom/Pops restaurant I've been too. Being station in Korea this place brought back many memories from back then. Food is delicious and well portioned. The host is nice and polite, very respectful. Great place to get an authentic bite to eat. Will definitely be coming back..

Google
I just had the greatest meal I have experienced in quite a while. I’m still sitting outside after my lunch and I am in awe as to how good the meal was. Had the Beef Bulgogi lunch special, and when I tell you I cleaned up that plate, AND the sides plates, I had to pull back from licking them clean. The kind gentleman that served me was attentive and checked up on me regularly and I could not stop smiling while eating. If you need to travel, or go a little out of your way to eat here DO IT!!!

Google
My photos were taking while we were eating. This place is amazing. Taste GREAT! Service is great and very polite. Gave us small plates of everything we ordered so we could taste. Even the restrooms were spotless. Tables very clean and restaurant clean with good smell. Great place to eat. Ask for Kevin. He'll set you up good. Enjoy the food!

Google
Amazing food packed with lots of flavor! Great service and a cozy atmosphere. Would definitely go back. Both my friend and I decided on this place and we’re so glad we did. It was our first time eating at a Korean restaurant and it was such a wonderful experience. Our server, who I think I was the owner, treated us so nice and even packed our leftovers for us. Highly recommend! I got the chicken and broccoli lunch special with the tteokbokki appetizer

Google
I come here for lunch turns out pretty good. They have lunch special price which all come in a box. Food was delicious and the owner was really friendly. Best calamari I had from a restaurant so far. I just wish they served more side dishes and variety I would have given a 5 star.

Yelp
Thank goodness for delivery! We ordered from here and the food came nice and hot! I ordered the tofu soup (sundubu jjigae), kan pun gi (fried chicken), yaki mandu (fried dumplings) and LA Galbi for my little. The soup was spicy and had great flavor. I definitely needed that and enjoyed all of it! The yakimandu was ok. I was expecting it to be triangle shaped like Korean style. The LA galbi was good. Child approved. The side dish variety...5/5. Love when there is a variety of banchan. I will definitely come back to get soup or try another dish.

Yelp
I ordered delivery and food was perfect packed! The kimchi stew was 100% amazing, I loved how pickled the kimchi was and the rice was cooked well also! As for the bean sauce noodles, it was tasty too, though I wish there was more pork, it was still super yummy. But the star was their side dishes *ban chan! It was incredible and I wish I ordered more. I can't wait to order from here again or go by sometime !

Olivia J.

Yelp
Food is amazing!! very flavorful and authentic. I highly recommend getting the rice cake appetizer its flavor is so unique. Service was wonderful, my glass of water never got below half because there was always someone to refill it. 10/10 I will definitely be returning :) the environment feels cozy as well

Yelp
Good Korean food. There's a few choices in the inner northeast side of town for Korean food. myung Ga Won is one of them. It's not very popular, but the food is made competently and it comes out quickly. Like most places they won't charge you extra for side dish (banchan) refills. On cold days I go for the jiggaes...kimchi jiggaes, in particular. It comes out boiling hot. On hot days, which is most days in San Antonio, I also go for a hot soup, solentang. I've had their dolsot bibimbap which is delicious. Their dokbokki (spicy rice dumplings) is generously portioned. Unfortunately, some items have fallen off the menu. Too bad, there were some that were delicious. The location is easy to find right near the interstate. If you're looking for an quiet place, this place may be it.

Yelp
Awesome restaurant! Great food regardless of what you order and the service is fantastic; they treat you like family.

Yelp
I moved from LA, so I was badly craving some good Korean-Chinese food. I ordered it through Uber Eats. The jajangmyeon was pretty good. The tangsuyuk was disappointing. It was just batter. There was barely any pork, literally almost non-existent.

Tyla C.

Yelp
Such an underrated gem for a quite night and great food. Service is probably the kindest in all of San Antonio.

Yelp
My wife and I really enjoy this restaurant's food. We have stopped in for lunch at least a dozen times. The beef bulgogi is so delicious. Although not on the lunch menu, my wife orders the beef bimbimbap from the dinner menu. Yes, it is a little pricey....but we'll worth it. Yum. Yum. Kam sa ham ni da.

Yelp
Not sure what happened. But I am traveling. Took an Uber here $18. They were closed. Wednesday 4-3-24 at 7pm. All before you head out

Yelp
My son and I had been looking for a Korean restaurant to go to here in San Antonio and found this gem based on Yelp. It did not disappointment!! The owner was so nice and the food was delicious! I was stationed in Korea and have had Korean food there and in the U.S. The food was served hot and with a few Korean sides....kichee, cucumber kimchee, Korean pancake and noodles. I had the beef bulgogi and yaki man do whilst my son has the beef kalbi. Both of our dishes came with rice. We will definitely be back. I highly recommend this place if you love Korean food or want to try it.

Yelp
Amazing food, amazing service, comfortable environment, what more is there to say! Loved this place!

Yelp
Great and delicious food that came out in a good timely manner, I recommend their lunch specials or kimchi pancake it was amazing and the servers and owner are very friendly with great service It's a small local restaurant but is one of my go to places, and it's a hidden treasure

Yelp
The place was empty on a Saturday, but don't let that fool you! The ubiquitous place that doesn't pop out at you packs a real punch in flavorful food!! We had an array of plates and the owner was very kind and educated us on the cuisine. I'm always wanting to support small businesses and this place definitely deserves tons of recognition. 100% recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
I have a conflicted heart when it come to this place, but then theirs my biased love for all Asian cuisine. That being said I can say the food is pretty good. What they really need to work on is there restaurant ambiance tho, it's super dark, dated and just old looking. It needs some brightening up big time and it would make a world of difference! Low lighting always has me questioning the restaurants overall cleanliness due to the fact that you need light to see dirt! The decor needs some help too. As far as what's important, the food was good! It didn't blow my mind and I'm not obsessing over it, but it's a good place to get your Korean fix. The fried chicken dish we had seemed more like a Chinese general Tso's chicken to me, but was still good just not what I was expecting. The pork belly bbq we got was ok but wasn't marinated or anything special, could've made it at home on a cast iron skillet. Seafood soup was by far the best thing, tons of seafoood and good to split between two or three people. I do wish they gave you more banchan (Korean side dishes) they were kinda minuscule portions and not much variety. Maybe it changes day to day? But I don't personably like having to ask for refills every 5 seconds because their banchan is small. Would I come back? Yes, but when is no telling it's kinda one of those places youre satisfies with but forget in your day to day.

Yelp
Driving by and was looking for something new and took a random chance on this place and it did not disappoint. Great food, good prices, the owner was so nice. My lunch companion said she loves bolgogi and said this place was "amazing" by her standard. So eat here

Yelp
Korean food is my absolute favorite cuisine and this place fulfilled my cravings for savory ban chan and spicy tofu soup. The service was outstanding. The nice older man who served me was super friendly and attentive. My food came out promptly and boiling hot in the stone pot they cook the soup in. Let me tell you, if you order soup from a Korean place and it doesn't come out still boiling, run far far away! I lived in Korea for 2 years so I feel I am somewhat of an expert on all things Korean . But seriously, you have to check this place out. I honestly didn't really pay attention to the reviews before trying this place but I'm glad I gave it a blind chance. The prices were super fair also!

Yelp
Another Korean restaurant on Korean row. Not a great location, but the food was good.

Yelp
A hole in the wall, blink and you'll miss it kind of place that you definitely don't want to sleep on. The portions are definitely shareable with delicious additions to enjoy with your dish

Yelp
Food and service was wonderful! Thank you for a great meal. They have an A rating as well!!

Yelp
I was hoofing it back to SA from Austin when the craving hit me upside the head! One of my favorite foods would be the Korean, Chinese noodle dish called Jajangmyeon. Black bean sauce- delish and hard to find the right flavor. This came really close and I will be back for more! I also got the tang su yuk which is the Korean, Chinese version of sweet and sour pork. This too was very good. The only negative I can point out, hence the 4 stars- noodles were a little over cooked and the pork to breading ratio was off. Can't wait to try the other dishes!
google avatar

Azucena R.

Yelp
Came in with friends, Kevin tended to us and the customer service was excellent! We purchased the Mo-Dum-Gu-Lee combination BBQ and it was immaculate! Delicious! Scrumptious! PERIOD. The pork was juicy, tender, thinly sliced---perfectly portioned. The beef was well seasoned and juicy! The chicken wasn't my favorite but for sure on the starting line. All of the sides were fresh and perfectly fermented! The kimchi was mouth watering. We are declaring Myung Ga Won our new spot for Korean BBQ!

Yelp
Delicious! We can't seem to stay away from this place. I have family in town so we decided to treat them to some really good Korean food. We did a to-go order and got beef bulgogi, squid stir fry, jap chae, grilled atka mackerel, and Korean style fried chicken. Everything was so delicious. It came with plenty of white rice and banchan. The owner, Kevin, is very welcoming. This place is one of my favorite places to eat in town. Yum!

Yelp
My family really enjoyed the Korean BBQ, Seafood pancake and Kimchi soup. It was all so very good. Our waiter was knowledgeable and friendly.

Yelp
Amazing service. Amazing food. Some of the most authentic Korean dishes I've had. I believe the owner served us, he was amazing.

Yelp
When i use to live here 2002 through 2006 I would eat at this place all the time. Then I would drive from Del Rio to eat here from 2008 through 2013. I really enjoy their food. Very authentic flavor to all of the food and the people are so nice. The kimbap was amazing I been looking for some for a while but can't find any on my side of town the NW side (so if you know a good place let me know). But it taste just like it did when I use to eat here and just like Korea. The bibimbap was delicious as well. Now being in Korea I always notice some place put it in a hot bowl to cook the vegetables and stuff...other just have it in a regular metal bowl. Both ways are great this has to be one of my favorite Korean dishes. The only thing I didn't like is that there isn't a lot of customers there. The customer service and food were both amazing...top notch. Wish it had more people. They deserve it. So if you are in there area this is a must go place. I will be back for sure!!!

Mandie M.

Yelp
Wonderful service Quick service even when told it would be a wait Delicious cuisine Owner happily encouraged us to try new things while asking us our falcon preferences 10/10 would come back

Yelp
We had a great meal here last night. Because of the pandemic, the place was empty for early dinner. The place was clean and the food was excellent. We ordered the beef bulgogi which came on a hot plate. The seafood pancake was lacking some squid but the flavors were excellent. The Kimbob was yummy. Then the soups! Wow the soups were amazing. Especially the rice cake soup with clear broth and seaweed was out of this world. I also had the fish egg kimchi soup which was spicy and lots of umami. We will definitely be back again

Yelp
Lived in South Korea for nearly 3 years and since being back in the states I've searched San Antonio far and wide to find AUTHENTIC Korean food/BQQ, and let me tell you.... THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO!!!!! Everything tasted the exact same as when I was in South Korea, the food was phenomenal! This place will have my heart and business forever. The yaki mon doo took me back to my time overseas with a single bite. I will recommend this place to everyone I know that's looking for amazing Korean BBQ.

Victoria H.

Yelp
Food was delicious, a relaxing evening with delicious authentic tasting food. Highly recommend for anyone looking for some delicious Korean food

Yelp
What should have tipped me off about this place was that it was 12:30 on a Saturday and it was completely empty. The second tip should have been when we looked at the menu and half of it was crossed out due to food not being available. But, I gave it the benefit of the doubt. I asked for dolsot bibimbap but with tofu instead of bulgogi. I was told they couldn't do that which was fine, I then asked if I could just get the bulgogi on the side so my mother could pick at it. The owner(?) or server said that without the bulgogi my food wouldn't have any flavor because meat is the only thing that gives flavor! So he basically talked me out of getting what I wanted to order because now I am under the impression that if he thinks that the bibimbap is bland without beef I should order something else. I ordered the tofu stew instead and was highly disappointed. The stew tasted like water and was mainly onion (no wonder he said the food has no flavor). My mother got the bibimbap I was going to order, with bulgogi, and guess what? Also flavorless. Her bean paste was pre-portioned and obviously watered down. The baanchans were okay however were room temperature and portions were small. Overall we will not be back and I'm surprised this place is still open.

Yelp
This place looks small on the outside but it's actually really spacious. We went for lunch during the week and there was nobody to greet us or get our order for a good 10-15 minutes. It seemed like they were setting up and prepping in the kitchen. At least there was tv with kpop music program to entertain us. The menu was very broad and it had almost anything korean dish you can imagine. From the name of the place, I thought it would be a Chinese korean restaurant but it was just korean food in general. They did have what I was craving, jja jang myun or black bean noodles. Once there was someone to get our order, the food came out really fast. I'm thinking they felt bad so they were trying to make up for it. The portions were large and the food was good. Definitely not a place I'll come during the week since I only have an hour lunch.

Jojo C.

Yelp
Food is really good, but the serving is really small! Paid $28 for one slice of LA Galbi embedded in onion slices and the same thing with the grilled squid. I usually take of pictures of what we eat, but I'm too embarrassed to post the pictures from this establishment.
google avatar

Shae L.

Yelp
I've eaten here several times, every time is incredible, they have such high quality and authentic Korean food. Their service is fast and friendly, and the prices are very reasonable. Definitely a must-try!

Yelp
Don't let looks deceive you. My husband and I were craving Korean food on Memorial Day and while all other Korean restaurants we closed, we stopped by the spot by chance as it was open. Yes, it is very dated looking. It has a giant old TV right in the middle so old you can see the backlighting right through the screen. And dimly light to the point that you wonder if the restaurant is even open. But the owner is so so nice and greets you with a smile. He was attentive to us and made us feel at home. You can tell it is a family owned restaurant with the kind of service he gives. Very nice and humble. There is enough space inside for large parties, but not sure about how busy it usually gets in there as it was not a high peak time when we checked it out so can't speak on the speed of the service during crowded times. But we got our food within about 20 minutes and there were about 2 order parties there. We ordered the kimchi jjigae and the spicy pork (daeji/dwaeji) bulgogi. The owner recommended we only order one kimchi jjigae even though we both had ordered one. He said one would be enough for both of us, especially with the meat we ordered, and he was so completely right! The spicy pork bulgogi and the kimchi jjigae did not taste like what I am used to for these orders BUT they were so delicious in their own way and very spicy if it's your thing! I didn't try the egg roll but finished all the pork and most of the stew. I did feel sad I had not try this place sooner as I pass it by so often on my way to Seoul Asian Market, but excited to have another place to eat some good spicy food!

Mike H.

Yelp
The food was very good. Staff was friendly and helpful. Pork bulgogi was spicy and seared just right. Kimchi, and side dishes come standard, and were delicious. The service was excellent, quick, and attentive. Overall had a great experience and will definitely come again.

Becca R.

Yelp
Some of the best Korean food I've had!! Customer service was great. Regardless of what people say, the Korean lady isn't so mean. ;) I think she appreciates when you're cultured. Keep that in mind people.
google avatar

Shelzey W.

Yelp
Unfortunately... this place was not what I had expected. I put 2 stars because the owners were extremely caring and nice. The kimchi jjigae tasted like water and kimchi boiled down to such softness that it was mush and blandness all in one bowl; no flavoring. The "pork belly" was as thin as bacon slices and cooked like it too. I was really confused bc usually pork belly is nice and thick but when they brought it out it was already precooked, bland, and extremely dry. I, personally, didn't have a good experience but I hope yours is different!

Cody T.

Yelp
Service was incredible. They are so friendly. I didn't give it 5 because of the cleanliness, or rather a lack of cleanliness. All of the dishes were dirty and even the water cups. With that being said, the food here is delicious. Everything was above average

Aleynah N.

Yelp
This place is great! The service was A-MAZ-ING, and the food was spectacular. Walked in and it was alarmingly empty but I was not complaining, I got treated great by the server. I got the Korean bbq, specifically the sirloin, and that SLAPED. Perfect portion for a reasonable price.

Yelp
Came here for the first time and Korean food was pretty good. Customer service is amazing
google avatar

Yelp
We had the LA Gal Bee, Jam Bong noodles and Ja Jang Myun noodles and they were all delicious! Great customer service too. Definitely will be coming back.
google avatar

Donna D.

Yelp
This was one of my go-to spots for Korean food but I think new management took over and I was not pleased with the food on this visit. Service was spectacular but I wish I could say the same for my bland and super water Yukgaejang. Maybe they had a bad night, but I always order this dish and it taste great along with the variety of kimchi. The soup was not spicy and the broth tasted like dirty water, it was actually indescribable. I couldn't even finish it because I lost my appetite. This was my first time back since new management and all of it including the barley water was a disappointment. I will come back and give it a try again because I work nearby and I hope it will be like old times.

Lyn F.

Yelp
This used to be one of my favorites, but it has gone way down hill. Maybe change of ownership or something. Many of the menu items are no longer available. I ordered kan pung gi, a deep fried chicken with chili sauce. What I got was little chunks of extra, extra crispy, black chicken. They burnt the sauce and over cooked the chicken. I also have never been to a Korean restaurant that only served 3 side dishes.

Danyell R.

Yelp
Doesn't look like much but this place is so good! Their customers service is off the chart! The food is just as good. Will keep coming back for all the yummy food and great service!

Yelp
OMG! This is so yummy, I was sobering while I was eating ! Pictures in the studio too ))) But hey - my son was singing while he was eating they chow mein with beef (meat tasted like bulgogi, if not better), with a little dancing too )) I have NEVER seen him SO excited about his food! He ate everything on his plate and asked for more - and I know my child - this boy is so hard to feed )) We have ordered also Bulgogi with rice and egg rolls )) The food was absolutely delicious - we told our waitress at least 10 times how YUMMY the food was. We are from LA and I thought I have had a good korean food (and very expensive) - but this - was very unexpectedly GOOD. Btw their bathrooms were surprisingly clean, nice mirror, toilet paper was present XD and even paper towels lol (I am so used to this places not to have these things ))) PS They do not accept AMEX, but the apologized like trillion times for that XD And also they have a 5% MILITARY DISCOUNT. Don't forget to remind them!
google avatar

Lee T.

Yelp
With tip $55 is kinda expensive but it is good food. You can cook your own meat even. Only bad thing is no handicap ramp for the disabled.
google avatar

Peeeraaah L.

Yelp
Service is super slow (waited an hr for food), short staff, waitress was rude(old lady looked miserable and angered) felt rushed when taking orders, bulgogi was charred and wasn't worth $18.95 plus tx!!! The energy and atmosphere was not inviting. We had to sit ourselves down because all the staff were in the back. Food is expensive and very low quality, I came home and rushed to the restroom (stomach flu from the food here)! The lunch specials don't apply on Independence Day and most holidays on weekdays (it shouldn't matter in my opinion if customers dine-in on a holiday of the weekday)! Recap: horrible service, low quality food, unreasonable prices, and poor atmosphere!!! Avoid this place at all costs!!! I'm never coming back to this shady place!!

Yelp
OMG. This is terrible Korean restaurant that I have ever been. The most worst Korean restaurant of the World.. Horrible place.Taste was terrible, not seasoned at all, terrible customer service, Lady owner was so rude. Also, so surprised that the prices was higher than other Korean restaurant. We were little bit hesitated to order or not but we didn't have any choice because we were so hungry. When food is came out it was looks so weird, noodle was not fresh at all and when I tasted it not seasoned at all. So I asked for her salt and sesame oil. OMG!!! I think she is mentally something wrong, no reason at all, she started to get mad and yell at me and my husband, suddenly, she said she doesn't like Korean customers at all. She said she wants to have business only American customers. She is racist. I think she knew already herself that not confidence of her KOREAN cook. I am so wonder how she can put named Korean restaurant , her cook is not correct taste of KOREAN FOOD AT ALL. It was terrible experience. We ate only 1/10 of the food because taste was so horrible. , stopped eating. Paid full price. We want to rate of this restaurant MINUS 10 star. Terrible, Horrible.
