"You can find mandu at many of the Korean restaurants in the Seattle area, but you’ll find a slew of different dumplings at Korean-Chinese MyungIn Dumplings in Federal Way. There are a variety of steamed and fried dumplings, including a spicy steam roll dumpling with pork and shrimp, but the specialty of the house are the “King” steamed dumplings filled with pork and vegetables or the tantalizing pork and kimchi." - Meg van Huygen, Jay Friedman, Eater Staff

Amazing food and even better services. We ordered a bit of everything from their menu: steamed pork buns, dumplings, soups and fried chicken. Everything was delicious but especially the spicy beef soup and spicy steamed roll pork and shrimp dumplings 😋. Their banchans were phenomenal- some of the best kimchis and picked radish I’ve had! We also got some frozen dumplings to go. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

Well made food that was brought out at the correct times with good texture and simplicity. This was an absolute gem. The portions were awesome, but the most important thing about this place is how much flavor is in each item. The menu is simple with the offerings of bao, fried rice, dumplings, etc, BUT each thing came out so delicate and warm and when paired with the kimchi, which had this nice umami, excellent. Super recommend for an outing with the family or just finding a great hole in the wall with well made food.

Recently, we dine at the Myungln Dumpling that served a variety of dishes that truly captured the flavors of South Korea. The Half and Half - Original Fried & Soy Garlic combo was an absolute standout with its crispy and juicy chicken, and the contrasting flavors of the Original Fried and Soy Garlic chicken were a real treat. The Shaomai steam dumplings with pork were tender and juicy. The Spicy Steam roll dumplings with pork were also noteworthy, providing a great kick of heat that was balanced out by the savory filling. The Pancake with green onion was a perfect side dish, with its crispy-flaky texture and the subtle flavors of green onion. Finally, the King steam dumplings with Pork & Veg were a hearty and satisfying, but just a bit doughy for my liking. Overall, the dishes at this restaurant were truly delicious and well-priced. The flavors transported me back to my recent trip to South Korea, and I would definitely come back for more.

Google
We were looking for a big order of fried chicken to take on a Lake Union Hot tub boat. Federal Way has some incredible off the beaten path restaurants and this one is at the top of my list now and we will be back! We ordered a 1/2 Chicken order of all four flavors of their fried chicken. It was cut into convenient pieces and totally fed 11 full grown adults with just a few pieces left after. Everybody went nuts over the chicken, total crowd pleaser on ALL FOUR flavors. It was easy to order, pick up, and carry on board. We saw that their dumplings were the main star so we ordered a few bags of their frozen dumplings to eat at home. (Update: I forgot to put a parchment paper liner in my steam basket (you need one) the first time and they were much better when I used one. I thought they had an underwhelming flavor but dips helped and my friends kids LOVED them) Looking forward to updating my review as I eat through the menu. Fried Chicken: Sweet and Spicy: Anyone could handle the spice, a good zingy sweet mix Original: Classic, crunchy, delicious Soy Garlic: Flavor packed and addictive Kang Jung: A delicious, intoxicating blend of sweet and savory flavors SECOND TRIP: Finally got pictures before we devoured it! We got the Soy Garlic and Sweet and Spicy chicken, DELICIOUS thick fried dumplings (make the perfect dipping mix with soy sauce/rice vinegar/fresh ginger). We also got the Korean Green Onion pancake and WOW it was rich, thick and oh so CRUNCHY! Went great with those phenomenal picked veggies. Already planning my next order…

Google
This place was excellent. We tried a variety of foods, dimsum, fried dumplings, steamed dumplings and soup and we loved all of it. The only bummer about this place is when it says spicy you do not get a choice of what degree spiciness you would like lol. But that's okay, you certainly don't leave there with any sinus issues. And the decor is outdated but we don't care about stuff like that so long as the food is good, which it was. While you're waiting for your food, they bring out an appetizer of pickled radish and a side salad, little tip; eat them together, they are absolutely wonderful. And the service was excellent as well. He even apologized for a busy dinner rush lol. Who does that?! And I was impressed that it was an excellent rating by the health department. 🥰👍🏽

Google
Never had Korean dumplings before and these were excellent and HUGE. We got the veggie and pork and kimchi buns, which were softball size! The shaomai and pork and kimchi dumplings were well filled! The beef soup was light and would be great as a stand-alone meal also. Will need to come back and try the fried chicken next. Service was great, and while the decor is old, the place is quite clean.

Google
Nice spot for delicious dumplings and fried chicken. The small dishes are really good too, and the staff refilled when we ate all the kimchi and radish. The portion sizes are quite big so you will probably be bringing home extra food. Unfortunately they were out of green onion pancakes when we were there. Overall a very good experience and definitely a place to eat at if you are in the area.

Google
If you haven't been go. Fresh handmade dumplings. You can even order them frozen to go. Everything was delicious. We got Korean fried chicken, kimchi pork dumplings, pork and chicken dumplings, banchan (side dish), and fried rice. THEY DO SELL OUT. This was out second attempt trying to come here. Definitely worth it.

Yelp
Birthday weekend trip up to Seattle!!! I'm posting reviews on our foodie trip up north as one of the main reasons we drive up there is for great eats! We headed up from Camas in the AM and stopped here for Korean dumplings and fried chicken. This restaurant did not disappoint! The only thing was we were going to eat more in Chinatown so we didn't want to order too much. All the servers were really nice and made us feel welcome. The kimchi dumplings were huge and had glass noodles inside, I ate mine quickly with no sauce and it was delicious but not too spicy. The fried chicken was super tender, we got the half order and even the breast pieces (I'm a dark meat gal) were super tender and flavorful. We will def come back here again!

Eun C.

Yelp
Delicious!! Love the breading and fillings. Fried chicken is must. We got half but should've gotten whole. Good service and casual indoor. We did take out and it was still yummy. With tax and tip, less than $

Leilani Q.

Yelp
Generous portion sizes, great service, chill vibe, and didn't feel rushed. I wanted to try different dishes and take the rest of the food home. Man, I was so stuffed and ended up taking a lot of food home too! The dumplings are filled to the brim and are so tasty on their own and with the sauce they serve Banchan: great amount of pickled veg, goes perfect with the fried chicken! Fried chicken: my favorite flavor is always soy garlic, but both soy garlic and sweet/spicy were so yum! Such a good amount of chicken, very good crunch and tasty sauces I would definitely recommend coming here to try all the dumplings and chicken!!

Tyler H.

Yelp
Great food and excellent service! I was in the area and heard there is great Korean food in Federal Way. A quick search led me here and it was a hit! Tried the Korean style steamed dumplings with pork and kimchi, the spicy beef soup with vegetables, and the Kang Jung fried chicken. The meal came with banchan to accompany the food. The dumplings were large and packed with filling. The soup was spicy with tender shredded beef. The Kang Jung fried chicken was sweet, a bit spicy, and very crispy; this was my favorite dish. I would definitely return when in the area!

Thom W.

Yelp
Food is good, sometimes a little greasy, portions are huge so don't over order! Staff is always friendly and prompt. Inside is like most Korean restaurants in the area.

Cassandra H.

Yelp
The dumplings were quite large. I preferred number 3, the spicy steam roll dumplings because they were filled with meat and the flavor was really good. They definitely had a kick to them, and the sauce provided enhanced the flavor. The king dumplings were so large, i think, compared to the steam roll dumplings they were a little more bland but still good. Just probably should have eaten them before the steam roll dumplings. It was pretty quiet in the restaurant but they were really attentive and always offering more tea.

Belldandy O.

Yelp
My friend suggested we grab dinner together at some other Korean restaurant in Federal Way, but later found out that the placee was not open that day. So, she made another suggestion to come to MyungIn Dumplings, which was not too far from the first place we were planning to go to originally. There is free parking where the restaurant is located. I was able to park right in front! Also, there is a restroom. Do not underestimate how big the steam dumplings are. There is a reason in the description it is referred to as a "king steam dumpling". We shared an order of the Pork & Vegetables King Steam Dumplings and Half and Half Chicken. The portions of the chicken dish we ordered was also HUGE, so after we were full, we ended up taking food leftover to go.

Eve S.

Yelp
DEFINITELY try the chicken! The chicken was so crispy and flavorful... I'd come here just for the chicken. This was my second visit and every dumpling I've tried, I've liked. The kimchi stuffed steam buns have a surprising texture as well as a spicy kick. This is now my go-to for small groups of 4+ people, to order several dishes and eat family style (everyone samples each dish).

Ben C.

Yelp
In the heart of the Korean strip of Federal Way, handmade dumplings are made fresh daily. Nothing fancy inside ~ quiet, dated decor with a silent tv on the golf channel. A small assortment of banchan to pair with the dumplings. The lady owner hardened face shows the long hours she puts in everyday. Delish dumplings, steamed hot to burn your tongue so careful to let them cool down for a minute ;) *Celebrity chef visit photo on the wall.

Yelp
The best dumplings!! We love this place. Our favorite is #3 the steamed rolled dumpling with shrimp and pork. It's spicy! And the chewiness and the bite of the shrimp and pork is so delicious. We also love #7,8 the steamed and the fried dumpling. The want mandu #9 and kimchi wang mandu #10 are so so delicious. Also the jjnppang - steamed bun with red bean paste is absolutely amazing. Fluffy spongy bread wrapping the sweet creamy red bean- this is what we get for dessert. Somehow we still have room for this after eating all the food. We always buy bags of frozen dumplings to take home and enjoy. Highly recommend them!!

Yelp
Rating: 3.0/5.0 We came here on a Saturday, a little after 5pm. The restaurant was relatively empty, and it was concerning that the majority of the customers were non-Korean. After all, the customer base for good Chinese restaurants is overwhelmingly Chinese; the same applies for good Korean restaurants. But we wanted dumplings and fried chicken so we sat ourselves at a table near the television. We ordered two items: boiled dumpling with pork and kimchi (12 pieces) and soy sauce and garlic based fried chicken (half). The pork and kimchi dumplings were much smaller than expected and were honestly a letdown tastewise. Where was the kimchi in these dumplings?! Fortunately, the soy sauce and garlic based fried chicken was yummy. The chicken was fried well, and the batter was light and crispy. The soy garlic sauce was so good, we packed the leftover sauce to bring home. Enough said. Our dinner came with three banchan (side dishes): kimchi, pickled radish, and a shredded cabbage "salad". They were okay, but I was hoping for more (banchan is usually one of the highlights of my meal when I dine at Korean restaurants so I was a bit disappointed). To be honest, I doubt I will be a repeat customer given the pork and kimchi dumplings (a 2.0/5.0 - even frozen dumplings from the grocery store would fare better than these!), the soy garlic fried chicken (a 4.0/5.0), and the limited banchan selections here.

Yelp
Overwhelming amazing foooood. Parking lot is a bit hectic and packed but that's how I knew this place was going to be good!! It sits within a a small Asian strip mall with many different Asian businesses. Straight to the point: get the fried chicken #16 (half or whole). We ordered the delicious boneless in a whole order with 2 sauces for $30. And order the spicy steamed roll dumplings for $15. You will NOT be disappointed. Very very good! I will definitely order these again. Boy oh boy did that chicken have a ton of flavor without heavy breading. Quality item for sure!! That sauce is one of a kind. And Both sauces were phenomenal. The spicy dumplings were obviously homemade with love. No 2 are made alike. These 2 items just simply blew my mind. I'd skip the soup and shaomai next time. They were good but not not mind blowing. The king dumplings were HUGE but lacked flavor in my opinion. Packed with a good amount of filling. But I think I'm not a king bun fan to begin with. Too much dough for me in one bite. The Korean Beer was a delightful accompaniment. And service was great. No complaints at all. Waitress was knowledgeable and friendly. Food came within 10min. She didn't even get annoyed when I asked for a fork!!

Brenda S.

Yelp
Where do I start other than WOW. when we came in, we were greeted with friendly waitress. We went in the afternoon which was perfect time to go because it got really pact when we left. The establishment looked brand new. As for the food, I am lost for words. We ordered three things on the menu. The fried dumpling, chicken, and the Korean style steamed dumpling which was recommended by the waitress. It is also their most popular on the menu. Our first bite on the steamed dumpling was 10 out of 10. The juiciness of the filling was spot on and I can see why it's their most popular. The fried dumpling had so much flavor. The fried chicken was cooked perfect and it was crispy. Overall, I would recommend because you can tell that they make these per order based on the quality of the food. It was the perfect meal.

Jenny B.

Yelp
If you enjoy light and savory Korean soup, this is one I would suggest. Had this with their Korean fried chicken and I almost levitated ;)

Maggie L.

Yelp
Similar experience for lunch on a weekday. We were the only customers the entire time. 3 banchans - kimchi, pickled radish, and shredded cabbage with dressing. For two people, we got: #3 Spicy Steamed Roll Dumpling with Pork & Shrimp $14.99 - these dumplings are spicy. I can taste the shrimp inside, but the pork was a bit hard. #22 Kang Jung Fried Chicken (half) $17.99 - sauce was sweet and has a kick to it (spicier than the Sweet & Spicy according to the waiter). The chicken was well- battered & well-fried and came out piping out. We ordered enough to have 1 dumpling and 1 piece of fried chicken for leftover.

Sherry W.

Yelp
The food here is really good - I came here with a friend after work one day and we were seated right away. We ordered an assortment of things and all the bao and dumplings were great. My favorite was the king steam dumpling with pork and vegetables - they're were huge, fluffy, and had an amazing flavor that I couldn't stop eating!

Sean K.

Yelp
Excellent food and friendly service. Soy and Ginger Chicken was phenomenal. Just the right amount of flavor, super crispy on outside, and perfectly cooked on inside, temperature very hot. Just delicious and I highly recommend. Shumai also was delicious. Fried dumplings were very good but did not standout compared to the chicken and shumai. Also - the kimchi and radish and small provided shredded cabbage salad were excellent. The restaurant atmosphere is that of a small family run place. But it's the food that really shines here. Definitely recommend.

Jeanee V.

Yelp
I found this place via Yelp (thank you reviewers) and was excited to try it out! When I arrived to the location I thought to myself, this looks to be a sketchy location in Federal Way... From the outside it looked like a hole in the wall but decided to not judge a book by its cover and gave it a try. So glad I did! Service was outstanding! Prices, outstanding! The food, outstanding! The food was so delicious I was in shock! Everything I tasted had layers of complexity and had a perfect level of heat to bring excitement to each dish. Loved the pork kimchi dumplings!! They're much bigger than your average dumpling and really packed filling with beautiful ingredients. Loved all the sides too - the radishes in a beautiful sauce, the dumpling sauce, even the little salad that comes with the meal was great. I brought someone with me to this meal and we were stuffed for only around $28. The servings and prices are very generous for the quality. I'm def going back!

Rebecca L.

Yelp
Great value for high quality dumplings! Food: We got the shaomai, king steamed buns with pork and kimchi, Korean dumplings with pork and vegetables and the jang kung fried chicken. All of the food we got were HUGE and super delicious. Absolutely worth the price which is cheaper than din tai fung for more food. I would absolutely get the shaomai and king steamed buns again if I had to only choose two things. Parking: Free parking as they share a lot with other businesses. Interior: The inside was clean and empty at 11:30am on a Sunday so no wait! And the staff wore masks.

Elizabeth L.

Yelp
I love the dumplings and especially their kimchi here. Truly reminds me of my Korean grandmas handmade dumplings. The service is great, very kind and attentive. There's also free WiFi. I love coming here on my lunch break

Maria H.

Yelp
The food was delicious. We got to see them making fresh dumplings while we waited. The service was great .

Jill S.

Yelp
Worth my 45min drive to indulge in Korean fried chicken, dumplings and pajeon (Korean savory pancake) ... and all the bonchon (side dishes) you can eat! I loved their spicey and wonderfully tasting kimchi as well as their pickled daikon with jalapeños. The amazing flavors! They asked me if I wanted refills and I practically screamed yes! We ordered half regular and half garlic soy fried chicken and it was so crispy, so juicy, so fresh and flavorful, it was like being back in Korea. The pajeon was light and crispy, a little different than I remember but so yummy! It was like a guilty pleasure! The dumplings were large and fresh and you can purchase them frozen to go! When you turn into the strip mall from the first entrance, it's straight back. Kinda hard to see/read the sign though. It got fairly busy in the afternoon but there's a decent size dining room. The crowd ate fast and were in and out making room for the next crowd. The server was by herself and to watch her flow between all the tables serving everyone with a friendly smile and efficiency was amazing! She had it all covered and made it look easy! I look forward to going back again soon!

Marielena R.

Yelp
Got the King Dumplings with vegetables and pork, shrimp fried rice, and the sweet and sour fried chicken. They give you a dish of spicy soy sauce, kimchi, cabbage with spicy Kewpie, and something else that is pickled. Super tasty fried chicken and the fried rice was amazing. The king dumplings were NOT what I was expecting cause I've never seen one before, it was super fluffy and soft and huge you get 4 for 12 dollars and it's a lot, BUT I wanted the soup dumplings so that was my fault. Waiter was SO nice and quick service, you can see the lady making the dumplings right there in the front too! Overall, a quiet cute little clean restaurant with an honest menu. Would come again and again:)

Jolee G.

Yelp
Dumplings are all homemade, and all of the food was Delicious! The sweet and spicy chicken was really a hit. Try it all.

Tiffany Y.

Yelp
Loved our meal here at MyungIn Dumplings. It has a very homey feel right away which makes it all that much better. We did not heed the warnings about the serving sizes so ended up ordering too much food, since we had so many dishes we wanted to try. No complaints though! The fillings in the dumplings were delicious, as were the dough. Also loved the fried chicken. Will definitely be dining here again!!

Traci J.

Yelp
First time here and Google maps lead you to a strip mall of Korean businesses. I had to look at a text to confirm where I was going. At 11:30 on a Sunday, my lunch buddy was the only one in there.... For the two of us we ordered Korean steamed buns, scallion pancake, boiled dumplings and KFC, sweet and spicy. The dough on the buns was super fluffy and the filling was similar to the boiled dumplings. Thumbs up but took a lot of stomach space. Boiled dumplings reminded me of Chinese won tons. Served with a multi-use dipping sauce. Scallion pancake was crispy and flavorful. Kind of reminded me of a savory palmier, if there is such a thing. The half chicken was crunchy and not too spicy. You have to know your chicken parts to make a good choice without flipping them all around. Banchan was kimchi, marinated daikon and shredded cabbage with 1000 Island. All this food, plenty to take home - $60!! Will definitely be back. Knocked a star because the restroom was kind of funky.

Project Pat H.

Yelp
I've stopped by here twice and they've been closed. Finally got myself here to smash some grib on a day they open. Project Pat can be hard to satisfy but y'all this place keeps it trill. No suckas at MyungIn. Bring your appetite baby. 5 stars.

Kat C.

Yelp
This place was delicious! An absolute hidden gem in Federal Way. We wanted Korean food so decided to try something new. I was first impressed with the Excellent food safety rating posted on the door! That's a big deal to me. We ordered fried dumplings, pork and shrimp shumai, shrimp fried rice, and spicy beef broth. More than enough food for 2. It all tasted amazing and we took home leftovers. Service was good and pretty fast even though they were busy. Our waitress gave great recommendations when we couldn't decide. Restaurant appeared clean. Not a spot you'd go to for an incredible ambience. An older tucked away building. But the food was on point!

Gary K.

Yelp
Been here twice in less than a week! The dishes are too large to try enough of them, and hence the 2nd trip. It may be listed as Korean-style Chinese dumplings but they are great any way you tell it. And, on top of dumplings, the Korean Fried Chicken are the bomb! No soup-filled Xiao Long Pau, but didn't miss it. Korean-style boiled dumplings are 3 times the size of the ones you get at Chinese places like Supreme Dumplings, ad just as tasty. They don't put much salt in their fillings so you can add sauce to taste. I think that is much better than some places where it could be just a tad too salty for me. The kang jung chicken is nicely spicy and sweet and stays crisp even after taking home leftovers!!

Ana L.

Yelp
This hidden gem in Federal way is a must! Took my husband for his birthday and it was so delicious! Freshly made dumplings in the open, so many options and THE FRIED CHICKEN also very clean and friendly service. If you love dumplings fried chicken and all thinks Korean, this hidden gem is for you. Also prices very reasonable

Will Q.

Yelp
The food is amazing and served in very large portions. The employees are very helpful, for example they helped us pack our to-go boxes for us.

Nancy C.

Yelp
We've been on a dumpling kick, so decided to give this place a try. We ordered steamed dumplings (pork and veggie) and fried dumplings (they were really potstickers - same filling) and Beef Soup with dumpling beef soup, We got 3 banchan (kimchi, radish and cabbage w/ "fry sauce") that were a nice starter. Also, got barley tea (which I don't love but don't hate - it does have an odd taste to it). We didn't really like either the steamed or fried dumplings (had an odd taste - definitely prefer Chinese dumpling flavor profile). However, we both really liked the Beef Soup with Dumplings and glass noodles. It was definitely enough for 2 (it is $16.99). Great flavor and lots of dumplings and noodles. Would definitely come back and have just the Soup!

Olga L.

Yelp
Highly recommend for traditional dumplings We friend almost 80% of their menu , and we too hard to choose one option, this is my honest review, TRY THIS PLACE , food was amazing , fresh and perfect . Service was fast and friendly . maybe the place need a little makeover

Tori M.

Yelp
Very good dumplings very surprisingly big and very filling. There was a billiards room by the bathrooms so that was pretty cool

Crystal H.

Yelp
I'm surprised how much I enjoyed the food! There's a lot of Korean restaurants in Federal way and I've had a lot, but this one is particularly good. You can see them making the dumplings on site too. I was pleasantly surprised to see how large the dumplings are and how much flavor was packed into them. The dumpling soup I think was a little bland and needed some spice to tie it together. The fried chicken was my favorite. It had a very nice crisp and crunch, the sauce was nice and sticky but the chicken wasn't drenched. It could be spicier, however. Service was nice. It was quite cold in the restaurant.

Thuy N.

Yelp
Came here for lunch with my sisters and it was pretty good. We ordered some dumplings and half order for the fried chicken. It also comes with some sides, like pickled veggies and cabbage with some dressing on it. The dumplings were pretty filling and moist. No boiling broth that will burn your mouth like DTF.

Angel C.

Yelp
Just my luck that there so happens to be a Myungin in Federal Way! So excited about it. It's the same Myungin in KTown LA that me and my friend frequent so I am super happy there's one in WA now haha. The dumplings are so so freaking good. The wrap, the filling, everything about them is delicious! And yes... i know spending $16 on a bowl of rice cake soup might hurt the souls of some of us Koreans, but it's totally worth it! The batch of soup I had was a little heavy on the dried anchovy side but I still ate all of it haha so so tasty. Spoke to the waitress and she was super nice and happy to hear I know about the LA one lol love it and 12/10 would recommend people try their dumplings!

Chris J.

Yelp
Fried chicken here is pretty good, I got the garlic soy which had a little too much sauce in it so maybe the dry seasoning chicken would be the way to go. For the price you get a good amount of chicken so that's a plus. I also got both the vegetarian bao and pork bao (which had japchae in it?), both of which had very little flavor and a funkiness I wasn't a huge fan of. Service was nice tho. If I could redo I'd just try the spicy chicken and hope for the best.

Mia K.

Yelp
The successful parent restaurant in LA's Ktown, which was featured in Anthony Bourdaine's show "Parts Unknown," has opened this restaurant last month. Everything we tried was very good! Food came out in reasonable time. Service was great. Best when eaten in-dining, especially to enjoy fried food crispiness 5* ToGos placed fried food in styrofoam containers (boo! bad for environment). Had holes made on top but had covered the food with a sheet of aluminum so it still steamed on the way home. Next time will keep the fried food completely uncovered in the car to prevent steaming. Portion Size each order or 1/2 portion option was enough for each 1 person. Food & Price #2 King Steam Dumpling with pork & kimchi. The Bao is spongy $10.99 4 pcs 5* #3 Spicy Steam Roll Dumplings with pork & shrimp. Says spicy but barely was $13.49 8pcs. 5* #9 Korean Style Steamed Dumplings with pork & veg. Filling is seasoned well $10.99 for 6 pcs 5* #9A Korean Style Steamed Dumpling with pork & kimchi. Med spicy $10.99 for 6 pcs 5* #19 Fried Wing Chicken has great crisp but wished it was a bit more seasoned 10pcs for $14.99 20pcs for $26.99. 4.5* #22 Kang Jung Fried Chicken has a tasty spicy sweet soy sauce coating 1/2 $15.99 whole $27.99. 5* Service attentive and friendly no outdoor dining option Located -toward the back southeast corner of an older Korean strip mall at 333rd St & Pacific Hwy 99

Yelp
Solid choice. Tried two menu items: Original fried chicken. Nice and crispy and not overly greasy. Steamed Pork and Kimchi dumplings. Bigger than expected and tasted great. Also had appetizers of kimchi, cabbage salad, and what may have been pickled daikon radish in jalapeños the latter being my favorite. Service very nice. Clean restaurant. Nice decoration. Will happily eat here again. :)

Kelly S.

Yelp
I had tried the LA version so I was looking forward to trying it in town. I ordered: 1) mandoo ddukgook (rice cake soup) - 4/5. Simple but good flavors. Helps that the mandoo is good. 2) shrimp, pork, and veggie boiled mandoo - 3/5. Light on the shrimp and generally, I've decided boiling mandoo takes away some of the flavors. Steamed is best! 3) kimchee wang mandoo - 4/5. Kimchee has almost a smoky flavor and it has a nice kick. A better alternative to the bready version of this. I also took home the pork wang mandoo (bready kind) and red bean bun. The first was 3/5, but I enjoyed the red bean one 4/5.

Yelp
Went here late night and must say it was overall a good experience. The spicy beef soup had a decent amount of flavor and spice, did hit the spot for the spicy korean soup cravings. The dumplings were pretty good, nice and simple. Exactly what youd expect and nothing more. Their simplicity is appreciated. Their service was very friendly despite coming close to closing time and would love to be back here again!

Yelp
The reviews were there and we were looking for a big order of fried chicken to take on a Lake Union Hot tub boat. Federal Way has some incredible off the beaten path restaurants and this one is at the top of my list now and we will be back. Looking forward to updating my review as I eat through the menu. Fried Chicken: Sweet and Spicy: Anyone could handle the spice, a good zingy mix Original: Classic, crunchy, delicious Soy Garlic: Flavor packed and addictive Kang Jung: A delicious, intoxicating blend of sweet and savory flavors

Yelp
My friend and I came for lunch. Service is quick and food was delightful. We had the shumai and soy fried chicken. Shumai was more like Xiao long bao, which I loved. It was piping hot so be careful. I probably burned my tongue on the first bite, was too excited to taste it. The fried chicken was super crunchy. It was served with a sweet, garlicky glaze. Half a chicken was too much for us so I took the rest home. Tip: you could properly ask the server to serve the glaze and chicken separately so the leftover won't be soggy. I'll definitely go back and try the other stuff on the menu. P.S. I think this place is a franchise and the late Anthony Bourdain has a picture on the wall with the staff in CA.

Yelp
Fantastic food at a very reasonable price. The service was exceptional, and the servers were very generous with the Korean banchan. Highly recommended, and I'll definitely be returning with friends and family!.

Yelp
Seeing as how dumplings reside in my top 3 list of favorite comfort foods, I was more than intrigued to road-trip down to Federal Way to try California, Anthony Bourdain approved MyungIn Dumplings. Side note, I felt like I was transported to Ktown in LA with how many Korean restaurants there are abound in Fed. My overall take- I loved the authentic vibes of the restaurant, and hospitable service from the Korean aunties. The food was clearly handmade with authentic and fresh ingredients. And with all of that said, the food was solid, and nothing mind blowing. My assessment may be partly due to being less used to Korean style dumplings which include kimchi, and we didn't order their famous fried chicken because summer is coming. I was glad I gave this place a try, and wouldn't discourage anyone from going, and I'm not in a rush to drive 30min to have it again. We ordered: 1. Kimchi Steamed Dumplings (3/5 Stars) $11.99- Although these suckers are MASSIVE, it left me wanting more and was a bit bland to me. 2. Spicy Shrimp Dumplings (5/5 Stars) $13.99- These were everything- spicy and flavorful. 3. Dumpling Beef Soup with Rice Cake (4/5 Stars) $14.99- Loved this light and flavorful broth. 4. Chive Pancake (3/5 Stars) $7.99- A little too oily and salty for me, but I'm also Taiwanese Tip: There's additional parking in the back of the plaza.

Yelp
Love this place. Fried chicken is excellent and the dumplings are made with love. You get kimchi with free refills. It's a lot of food in each order.

Yelp
DoorDash orders come better than ordering take out via phone. Woman at register, who was the one on the call and is very possibly the owner, caught an attitude when clarifying the total when she was the one who misspoke. That entire conversation felt like I was asking for standard information the shop should already be providing like pick up time. Unsurprisingly, the order wasn't ready on arrival when the restaurant was practically empty and the fried chicken was soggy and tasted of old frying oil. We also definitely received significantly less food than our previous experience ordering online. When the food's done properly, it's solid, but the inconsistency's stark and I can't make sense of supporting a business that doesn't stand behind their product depending on how management feels, especially when they're the source of error. Without a doubt, the franchise's SoCal locations are better, so I'll be sticking to Underground Kitchen when in town. Needless to say, this spot's lost a customer and future customers' ought to set their expectations accordingly.

Yelp
I drove 24 miles to try this place because it was David Choe's choice in Parts Unknown Koreatown LA episode, I have been wanting to try it in LA for years but It finally comes to Federal Way. It is a lot closer than LA! The place is in a strip mall with a huge sign. The place is not big, but pretty clean. There were only 3 tables on a Sunday night. Small one page menu with steam bao, steam/boiled/pan fried dumplings. We ordered one of each and Fried chicken, and the beef soup. Lots of leftover for 3 people, but that's part of my plan. Bao is wonderful to re-heat for lunch the next day. Food is really good. I come here for big, good, fluffy boa and I am happy to report the kimchi bao is awesome. Dumplings are huge. Come hungry. And forget about keto diet. My mother was born in northern part of China close to Korea. This place reminds me my mom's cooking. TV on the wall was playing crush landing on you. I feel I am crush landing in Korea. Price is a little high. But for the amount of leftover, it's really for 2 meals. Con: only 3 banchans. See photos for more comments.

Yelp
Originally meant to go to a different restaurant in the same plaza but they were taking forever so we decided to eat here. Best. Choice. Ever! We got the sweet and spicy KFC, pork buns, and beef rib soup with rice. The combo of KFC with soup was so delicious, I was too full to eat the buns. Legit hole in the wall place with simple yet authenticly delicious Korean food. Small menu with great prices for what you get.
