"Black, white and orange are the tricolore of ‘Watanabe-ism.’ Black represents faith that cannot be tainted; white, the freedom to become any colour; and orange, the flame manipulated by the chef. On offer here is a fusion of French and Edo food cultures. Sobagaki is emulsified using French techniques; local Japanese elements include kaminari-okoshi, a roasted and flavoured mochi cracker; and monaka, a sweet of azuki bean paste sandwiched between crisp wafers. Watanabe-ism has deep roots in Asakusa-Komagata." - Michelin Inspector

Had a wonderful dinner hosted by Kanda San. The cuisine by Chef Watanabe is simply sublime. Its says 1 star Michelin, but I feel it should at least 2 or 3 stars. Do not forget to take a romantic walk along the River just behind the restaurant and view Skytree.

An amazing fine dining experience of French Japanese cuisine. Chef Watanabe’s love and passion can be felt in every dish. All his dishes are meticulously crafted and taste amazing. The restaurant is located near Asakusa station and has stunning views of Sumida river, Tokyo tower and Tokyo city! Highly recommend if you’re a lover of French cuisine or if you’re looking for lovely fine dining experience in Tokyo!

Stunning service, view and, of course, food! Starting with the service, the waiters are all impeccably dressed, professional and attentive. The head chief himself (Watanabe-san) came to ask how everything was and even gave me a little gift before I left. The dishes combined visuals with novel textures and flavors, with only the best ingredients used. The common complaint that fancy restaurants serve tiny portions holds true here, but that just allowed me to experience all the dishes without feeling bloated. At the end of the experience I was left full and more than satisfied.

Google
Highly recommend. We had a wonderful night in Nabeno-Ism. The food was very impressive. The chef combined Japanese ingredients and French fine dining very well. And, the service was also quite warm and friendly. I can feel and realize Japanese culture "一期一會 One Encounter, one chance" through their hospitality.

Visited here for lunch. The outlook was cute and humble. Interior is very sophisticated but cozy. Dishes are fantastic, and so many new amusing ideas are making each plate distinguished from ordinary ones. Highly recommended place, and you won't get disappointed. Both dishes and stuff's manner are high level.

Great dining experience! Loved the food, the ambience and the service. It was everything one could ask for on a special occasion. The chef was so kind and lovely!

Google
A beautiful place. The meal was a melody in my mouth from beginning to end. Luxury ingredients like caviar and black truffle were paired with traditional Japanese flavors and seasonal vegetables to create truly inspired food. If you will eat anywhere in Tokyo - it should be here. The chef is incredibly kind and welcoming and we enjoyed speaking to him about the meal.

Google
The cheapest five wines on the menu are “out of stock” mysteriously, with the sommelier guiding us to order wines that cost twice that range. I just find that behavior rude and exploitative. They publish their wine list on the internet and as such, should have those wines or at least similarly priced ones available.

Yelp
A way better than what the Michelin two stars are suggesting. A great fusion with Japanese and French. Watanabe-san has been the number two under late Joel Robouchon for many years and led the restaurants opening globally until he returned to Asakusa to open his own restaurants a few years ago.
