First time at Nasfi with my family! The history and cultural influence was enough for us to WANT to be here!!! Let's start with the service I received after booking... top tier! We drove from the Northside ( Evanston ) and traffic was heavy. I called to inform that we would be late and the hostess reassured me that there was no problem, take my time and arrive safely. I let her know I was about 20 mins late and she edited the booking for me! When we get to Nasfi, the atmosphere was a VIBE!!!! Excellent customer service.. from the host, waitress ( can't remember her name short dreds ), to the mixologist who has us eager for the fall drink menu!!! The oxtail empanadas so good. The white bean Hummus, best I've ever had!! The seafood platter and the GRILLED SNAPPER soooooooo good! Worth every penny!!! Family enjoyed their meals as well. Fried and Blackened Catfish perfect! Grits creamy delicious, dirty rice seasoned and cooked well! Peri Peri chicken.. not a hit. Chicken cooked well and great portion size, but it just wasn't IT. Lions Mane steak... was good but was small. Possibly a heavy starch to add and make dish hearty? The Brussel sprouts deserve and honorable mention with the wilted greens. All drink were definitely a hit!!! We will be back!!!!! ( Cream corn was not available that night )

I was excited to try this place so maybe my hopes were a lil too high. Nonetheless, I came, I saw, I tried. But I don’t have to rush back anytime soon. My biggest issue was the service. I ordered an appetizer and side as my main meal and my partner ordered an entree. Well my app came first and it was a long time before the other dishes came and because I didn’t want to eat without him, my food got cold. I know that’s my choice but kind of defeats the purpose of having dinner together. It would have been nice if the server let the kitchen know to bring everything out at once. We also ordered a separate app to start that I asked for without sauce and it came to the table with sauce so had to send it back. And that ended up coming with the entree. All to say, the communication and timing could be better. And while we were waiting for the food, our server was sitting down at a table chatting with other patrons. I understand a lil friendly chat, but it comes across as unprofessional when you have other tables around you. That said, the food was good but nowadays you need more than just good food. IMO.

I wanted to give a 5 but for the reasons listed I could not. My food was good except my Creole Shakshuka was very salty. The atmosphere is a WHOLE VIBE! Our server was very friendly but service was extremely slow. My great aunt did not receive her meal until we were packing up. Its almost as if they were short staff and he had an abundance of large parties

Our server Jason was really, really great. Super attentive, great recommendations. I’ve been to some of the best restaurants in Chicago, and this is one of the best in my opinion. For the price, you get really good portions of extremely high quality food. Every single dish I had went crazy. The service was amazing. The artichoke dip is OFF THE CHAIN and is served with really delicious, crispy homemade tortilla chips. Also loved the Brussel Sprouts. They’re seasoned really well. The blackened catfish is great. We tried a seafood special with jumbo grilled shrimp that was phenomenal. The ambiance was awesome, there was a DJ playing live music and the beach is literally right there. You won’t be disappointed!!! Worth the money perfect for date night.

We went to happy hour. Doomonique was our server and she was very attentive. The food and drinks were delicious, ambiance was nice. I highly recommend that you go and ask for her if she’s working that day!! Oan the Brussels sprouts and Butter cake stole the show!

The food was absolutely delicious and they pour generously on the drinks. I had the vegan sliders that were soooo good it didn’t matter that they were vegan. They weren’t just good for vegan they were just GOOD PERIOD! The calamari was cooked to perfection and the breading was light but crispy. The sauces took it over the top. Who knew a house made, spicy brown mustard would be so good. Now, I’m not much of a drinker and my husband always orders me a sidecar, which I really like. When I told my server Domini, she said “I got you.” She came back with the peaches and herb sidecar! My goodness! It was delicious and, make sure you drink with your loved ones and sip slow, cuz this drink isn’t for lightweights. The atmosphere is beautiful and you can’t beat looking out a Chicago’s gorgeous Lake Michigan. Can’t wait to go back.

Update-Yesterday I made my second visit to Nafsi. Was excited to come back because they serve brunch only on Sundays, so I ordered The Black Tiger Grilled Shrimp & Grits and they were good. My cocktail of choice was the Water Tower, it was kind of disappointing. R&B music is playing in the background which is cool. The crowd noise definitely was much louder from our last visit. My friend ordered Salmon Croquette Eggs Benedict, and a side of Herbs Roasted Red Potatoes. She wasn’t satisfied with the cook on the Salmon, she enjoyed the potatoes though. A friend suggested we visit this establishment, after seeing a video on social media. So last Sunday we finally stopped through. I chose to dine on the patio which was cool. For appetizers my friend ordered the pita bread and hummus. She enjoyed it, but didn’t care for the all the veggies on top of the hummus. My choice was the Caesar salad, it was decent. Could have went without the garlic bread. We both ordered the pan seared Atlantic Salmon w/broccolini and wild rice for the entrees. Salmon was seasoned well, and cooked well done like we liked. Our choice for dessert was Bread Pudding to go. It was good my first time ever eating it.

We arrived and had reservations. We were seated immediately. Dominique was our server and she was Fantastic! We had catfish and grits, brussel sprouts, arancinis, cabbage, creamed corn, calamari, mardi wings, hush puppies, oxtails empanadas, & lamb chops. My favs were the brussel sprouts, catfish and grits, and cabbage. My least fav was the creamed corn. Everything was tasty. The atmosphere was bright and fun. The establishment was very organized and clean.
