The Newest Restaurants In Chicago

"Aside from their namesake arepas, this casual Venezuelan spot in Belmont Cragin has patacónes and empanadas. And for $72, you can get a gigantic sandwich loaded with beef, chicken, and pork." - john ringor, veda kilaru

Small place but very good food. Meets the expectations for the empanadas and arepas. Definitely will keep in mind to return

Hit up Naguara Arepas for lunch and was pretty satisfied. Grabbed a fried arepa with shredded beef and cheese and a side of tequeños. The arepa was crispy on the outside, cheesy and savory inside—solid comfort food. Tequeños were good, though I wish they were a bit warmer. Service was friendly and quick, and the spot had a chill vibe. Definitely coming back to try more from the menu.

Stopped by Naguara Arepas on Laramie. Ordered a fried arepa with mechada and a side of tequeños. The arepa was decent, but the meat was a bit dry, and the tequeños were lukewarm and lacked that cheesy pull I was hoping for. Spent about $24 total. Service was friendly, but the wait was longer than expected for a takeout spot. Not terrible, but not rushing back either.

My Venezuelan friend brought me here and the food was excellent! I had the arepa frita with paballon. It was absolutely mouthwatering. Will come back to try more of the menu. Good people and good food!

Hidden gem. Best arepa I’ve had in Chicago. The Reina is so fresh and the avocado is perfection. Portions are massive we got way too much food. Hanburguesa is big bough for two as was the arepa. Tres leches was delicious and these are the best cheese sticks I’ve ever had. The sauces add so much. The people were very friendly but definitely surprised to see two very white people and didn’t speak much English. Be prepared to google translate the menu if you don’t speak Spanish. Very authentic and brought me back to making arepas in college with my Venezuelan friends. Highly recommend.

I love Venezuelan and when this one opened up by my girlfriend's house I had to try it. Great food and staff is friendly. The portions are big as well!

Very good Venezuelan food, cool staff too. Still getting used to a U.S. idea of time, so they may take a little to get the food out, but the best Venezuelan food I have found in the city without the least hesitation.

Not only did they take a long time for my order to come out which it never did , went to the cashier to ask for it to go since I was already running on time but decided to cancel one dish when the cashier told me that was not possible that he couldn’t voided it, I have never been to a restaurant were you can’t cancel an item that you no longer want unbelievable
