The 18 Best Restaurants Around Bankside & Southwark - London - The Infatuation

"Being in the Bankside and Southwark area goes hand in hand with being late. Rushing for a show that starts in half an hour, a meet-up at a gallery you forgot about, or deliberately getting your family lost on the way to the London Eye. When you need food fast, Nigerian takeaway stall Naija High Street has got you. The simple menu is full of satisfying dishes—grilled chicken, and fish or beef stew with a choice of spinach, beans, plantain, and jollof rice—that you can eat while hot-footing it out of Lower Marsh Market." - heidi lauth beasley, rianne shlebak, sinead cranna

The 14 Best Restaurants In Waterloo & South Bank - London - The Infatuation

"The food of Nigeria and wider West Africa tends to be found in many neighbourhoods in London, and it's harder to find homely cooking from the region the closer you get to central London. But street food stall Naija High Street, located at Lower Marsh Market, packs a huge punch with a simple takeaway menu. Grilled chicken and fish or beef stew is served in eco-friendly trays, with a choice of spinach (usually an anglo term for egusi), beans, plantain, and jollof rice. The sides are all vegan and can be combined with the mains for a satisfying lunchtime meal." - jake missing, rianne shlebak, heidi lauth beasley, sinead cranna

First time trying Nigerian food! I was hoping to try the Elegusi and pounded yam, but it's only available Fridays 😢 The beef stew was tender and flavourful. The jollof rice and stewed spinach were the perfect sides. Service is very friendly and they have a lot of regulars for a reason

Highly recommended and absolutely will not disappoint. Amazing, fresh, authentic Nigerian street food stall. Friendly team. Vegan options available. Paper boxes, wooden cutlery, lots of places to sit out in the sun nearby with recycling bins! 🥰

Great food! Very tasty. The beef stew was perfectly spiced for my tastes, but be warned it does kick!

Amazing Nigerian food. Beef stew was fantastic. Beef was tender and flavorful. Jollof rice was perfectly cooked. Spinach was creamy and soft, but not fibrous at all. Spicy sauce was spicy with a nice kick, but still tolerable. Great prices, great value. The people were so friendly and welcoming with such great energy.

Beef curry with rice plantain and beans was lovely and fair for £12.50. Owners are very nice and it’s a good place to sit

Delicious Ayamase Stew with tender meat skin and rice. The spice level was also perfect.

My new favourite at Lower Marsh Market! Everything is fresh and reasonably priced, I had the veggie box which came packed with generous servings of jollof rice, stewed spinach, plantain, and stewed beans - all of it delicious. Super friendly service too, can't recommend them enough!

I initially wanted to eat swallow but they didn't have. I ate their jollof, spinach and protein. It was sweet, they've got options regarding how peppery you want your food😛. It was affordable too
