A friend of mine suggested this restaurant as a date night spot. My fiancé and I decided to try it out on last Friday. I called and made a reservation prior to, which I highly recommend doing. Otherwise, it will definitely be a wait or you will be unable to dine altogether. When we first got there, I valet parked. While I was waiting on valet, my fiancé went inside to check in. He was seated by the hostess at our reserved table that had our names on it. Shortly after, a waitress, came up to him and questioned if he had a reservation and did he seat himself because she was trying to seat someone else at our table. Luckily, he was there or they would have tried to give away our reserved table, very shady. Once I was able to valet and go inside of the restaurant, he updated me on the confusion. Such a mess *eye roll*.
Savannah, our waitress, came to our table to take our drink order. We both ordered two speciality cocktails. Unfortunately, I am unable to remember the names of the cocktails and tried to look on the restaurant's website for the menu, only to find the website is expired. I called the restaurant to make them aware of this situation, as I was just able to look on the website prior to dining. Oddly, the manager told me she was aware of the situation and they haven't updated their website in awhile. She also stated she would "text" me the menu, which I am still waiting on. This is one flaw of this entire establishment, which is the service. They could be a 5-star restaurant, but due to the service, I have major deductions for these reasons. They truly do lack, big time in this area.
Savannah brought our drinks to the table, which were really good. We decided to go ahead and order our appetizers. We ordered the hamachi, which was a yellowtail dish with cilantro and jalapeños, topped with truffle oil. In addition, we ordered the Shrimp Tempura roll. Both dishes were very delicious. I highly recommend trying them both if you dine here. After we finished our appetizers, we placed our entree order. Had we known the kitchen would be backed up, we would have put in our entree order, along with our appetizers, as it took a while for our food to come out. We ordered the Spicy Lemongrass-Shrimp and the Claypot-Shrimp. Both entrees came with a side of jasmine rice, carrots, cucumbers, and green tomatoes. The sides were really good and fresh tasting. The Spicy Lemongrass-Shrimp was good, but I don't think I would order it again. My fiancé's entree, the Claypot-Shrimp, was much better. I highly recommend ordering that dish instead. While we were eating, we ordered another round of drinks. It took so long for our drinks to come, I tried to cancel the order. Our waitress informed us that our drinks were already being made and she couldn't cancel the order. Well it still took some time for our drinks to come out. At this point, we were done eating and ready for our check. Unfortunately, I wanted to change up my drink and ordered a spicy drink. This drink was absolutely awful. I'm a fan of spicy, but this drink did not taste good at all. After having to wait for my drink then it came out nasty, I was highly irritated. I mentioned it to Savannah and she stated, "she understood my concerns and would take care of it." I literally took two sips of the drink and did not like it. She took the drink away and brought the receipt. When she brought the receipt, it still had the drink on it. My fiancé didn't want to complain and was just ready to go, as it had already been a long dining experience, but I thought that was pretty tacky.
Overall, the atmosphere is great and I think this place is good in the food/drink department, but has some major issues in the service department. I also think it is a little overpriced as well. I hope they can get it together, as I have high hopes for this restaurant. If you do decide to dine here, just know the service maybe slow and lackluster. Otherwise, you'll be good to go, just don't order the spicy drink! Everything else is good to go!
