It's a nice place to have a quick dessert and hang out with friends in Ktown. The kiosk is easy to order from. I love the matcha one; Hojicha is a bit bland for me.

I love their Mach’s cheese cake. I normally don’t enjoy cheese cake that much but my friend recommended me to try. It’s so tasty! The drink is good as well. However, all desserts and drinks are pricey.

A Japanese dessert spot centered around matcha, hojicha, and black sesame with a variety of latte and parfait options. We tried the Hojicha Warabimochi Parfait, and it was so decadent with multiple layers of jellies and ice creams - the hojicha jelly and mochi were particular standouts. The store itself is spacious with plenty of tables, but it can still get quite busy in the afternoon where you may have to wait for tables to open up.

Nana’s Green Tea is the best and definitely one of the best matcha lattes in New York City. Their matcha lattes are super concentrated and very strong but also slightly sweet. I recommend getting more sweetness than the default if you want a tea that has similar sugar to bubble tea. The inside space is very spacious and bright. It is perfect for a date or a hangout spot with friends. If have been here so many times already. The prices are also very good!

Overall a clean self-service dessert-centric cafe with a lot of seating and nice blond wood decor. The orders are accepted via a screen, you pickup your stuff when your number is on the screen /announced (like DMV). My matcha parfait was ok, melted a bit too quickly and was too sweet for my taste which is unusual for an Asia-inspired place. I was spoiled by creative multi-ingredient parfaits in Japan and it is very far from it. It is a shame all lattes come iced but there is an option of hot teapot (quite small for $7).

As a lover of all things matcha, I had to try this place out. After coming here a handful of times, I’d give this place 4 stars out of 5. To start, this is a dessert placed centered around matcha, hojicha, and black sesame drinks and desserts. I’ve tried most of their matcha things and their iced hojicha latte. The latte was well mixed but could use more hojicha flavor. Not too sweet. Their iced matcha latte and their hot matcha latte was pretty good! I’d say better than the hojicha one. Although, the hot matcha latte with oat milk did take about 20 or so minutes for them to make. We received everything else first. The matcha cheesecake was better than most cheesecakes- which comes moderately highly rated since I don’t like cheesecakes. My friend who does like cheesecakes though wasn’t a fan. So I guess that’s to your preference. I would say it was more of a dense cake than cheesecake which is probably why I liked it. The flavor was also great and condensed into each bite. The matcha mochi parfait and the matcha soft serve with warabimochi was better than the cheesecake! The parfait itself came with cornflakes, mochi, a scoop of green tea, red bean paste and jelly on the bottom. Of all these things, the star was the scoop of green tea. The green tea ice cream was more authentic as it was slightly bitter. Pair this with the cheesecake for the ultimate bite! The soft serve was sweeter in flavor than the scoop of matcha ice cream from the parfait. I can see how some people might enjoy that sweeter matcha taste. It was good but I personally liked the scoop for a sweet but slightly bitter matcha taste. If you come here, chances are there will be a crowd. Every time I’ve been here, we had to wait in line to place the order on one of 3 kiosks, then wait for the food to be made and your order number called. While there are many seats inside, they do fill up quickly and you’ll have to politely fight for a table. Be quick or you’ll end up standing outside sharing (or not sharing) your desserts with your friends/family. Also fyi, there’s one single person bathroom here so if you need to go during your dessert stay here, don’t wait til the last minute to go because on occasion, the bathroom line does get long. If you haven’t been here, I’d say give it a try. The desserts are yummy. But I wouldn’t go out of my way to come back here. I’d come here if I was in the area and wanting a place to go to catch up with friends over desserts and drinks.

Although food was pricy it is well worth the price! The matcha is really really good- tastes like high quality matcha and they definitely don't skimp on the amount. The black sesame latter was nutty, sweet, and very very good (highly recommend if you are looking for something new to try). The parfait was a great way to try a variety of textures and flavors. If you want it to be halal they can replace the jelly with more ice cream! It's a bright, modern atmosphere with lots of people working. It was pretty full when we arrived so expect to struggle for a seat after working hours. The food came out fast and they have a self order kiosk with pictures of the items which made choosing things very easy!

Decent dessert spot at the edge of Ktown! There's a lot of seating with decent space. You can order via kiosks. Just make sure to check your phone since they will text you when the order is ready if you want to find a seat as you wait. I have enjoyed their parfaits. I recently tried the matcha with soft serve as well, and the matcha drink tasted a bit diluted and the soft serve wasn't very creamy and was icey instead.

I came here for dessert after dinner one evening and it was a good time! The inside of the cafe is very spacious and has lots of seating, but is pretty busy so it might be a bit difficult to find a seat. You order at a kiosk and pick up your order at a counter when it's ready. I got the matcha parfait and hojicha when I went and it was not bad. The drinks were pretty standard, and I thought that the parfait was pretty decent. The matcha is definitely good, but I wish it was just a bit stronger. Overall, not a bad spot for matcha desserts.

Been here a handful of times since the first time. Tried the ice cream once and it was good and better quality than the tea but worse than the pretty close fujiissa. Anyway, I was here early enough on a Sunday to have a Matcha Espresso which is $6.50 +tax. This drink also listed as a matcha shot refers to koicha or thick matcha which is essentially matcha with less water whisked in. The color was virtually identical which was a bad sign and it had 0 mouth coating or any high quality feel. I wouldn't recommend at all. As the previous review was really closer to a 4 than a 5, I'll bump it down 1 star.

Nana's green tea was really good - their matcha was strong and deep. I liked their parfaits a lot and it had a lot of variety of toppings for extra texture. Only downside was how expensive it was - it's good for a once in a while treat.

Awesome interior here. Came in on an extremely busy Saturday afternoon and placed my order for an iced matcha latte and matcha soft serve. It came out within 5 minutes and was delicious. Great matcha spot!

Been to this chain in Seattle- I def missed the parfaits and cake! Easy to order and pay at the kiosk. Pickup numbers are called out but also on the screen. I got the green tea frappe and hojicha cake. My partner got the green tea, very good tea.

Looking for a place to fit your Japanese cravings in the heart of ktown? Been meaning to visit this place since they first opened up last spring in NYC. Nana's Green Tea specializes in matcha drinks and desserts. This place does not disappoint. The one that I wanted to try had been sold out (Ube soft serve) but they were still serving the Ube latte at the time which my cousin ordered. (They opt for Ube flavoring and vanilla soft serve for it). I like the concept of the latte. They placed soft serve in the latte to account for its sweetness. It is pretty pricey so I'd probably would only come here one more time to try it out. My cousins throughly enjoyed what they purchased but Personally, I'm not a fan of the matcha soft serve since I tasted more of the cream then the matcha. I felt like the quality doesn't quite justify the cost. Psst- for a higher quality, I'd recommend the matcha soft serve from Matcha Cafe Maiko! My cousins ordered the Matcha Mochi Parfait, Ube Iced Latte and the Hojicha Nama Chocolate Parfait. Please note, although this place is HUGE, seating is limited!! There really isn't no time limit as I see people with laptops. It's a cute cafe but it's too overcrowded. Because it's such a popular place, everyone is waiting to pounce on a table when customers are finished! Interior is kinda cute. It's definitely instagram picture worthy!

Came here on a weekday, line was fairly short and didnt have to wait. Once you walk in there are three kisoks where you can order. If you have cash I believe you can pay through the counter. The first time I got their Hojicha latte. 3/5- their hojicha was overwhelming sweet. The downside is that you cant adjust the sweetness to this drink. I personally would not get this again. Second time I got their Black Sesame Latte. 5/5-The sesame wasn't grainy-a plus! It wasn't overwhelmingly sweet and it was just right! They really did it delicious this time! I would get this again. Service was fast which I liked. Only one bathroom, the first time I went was out of order.. second time had a wait. They have alot of seating but people usually don't take along time sitting since it is a tourist spot. Overall, I would go back for their other drinks and try their parfaits!

Pros: I came back to try the green tea soft serve and added chocolate. The ice cream was as expected, creamy and potent with matcha flavors which is what I prefer. The portion is generous, you could probably share with another person for 1 order. Cons: the seating is limited here. Every time I visit, I typically need to scramble to find a spot. When I come with another friend, we try to split up so that one person orders while the other scopes out seating. I wouldn't recommend coming here with a big party.

Been wanting to stop by ever since they've opened and finally did recently! Nana's green tea specializes in matcha drinks and desserts. While the matcha is good, it's on the pricier end with non-dairy options costing $1.25 extra. I wish the oat milk change was cheaper. I got the matcha float with mochi and I really liked the ice cream that came with it but thought the mochi was just ok. The mochi didn't have much flavor at all. I thought the matcha was strong and tasted more on the bitter end, so if you're looking for strong matcha this is a spot you might want to try! The interior has an ample amount of seating but during the weekend the seats fill up fast. I'd recommend coming earlier rather than later in the afternoon because it can get quite packed. A good spot to check out if you're a matcha lover!

Finally had a chance to try out this dessert café. I think it used to be Matcha Café Maiko, so I thought it's a bit interesting that it basically stayed the same thematically. I ordered a matcha soft serve latte. The drink itself was OK. It felt a bit light, without the characteristic richness I've come to expect from high-quality matcha power, but to a certain extent I think the slight natural bitter/savoury flavours were covered up by the sweetener and the soft serve. (For what it's worth, the soft serve was quite yummy. I ate part of it with a spoon and then mixed the rest in to drink with the matcha.) I'd say overall that I wouldn't come here for the quality of the matcha necessarily, but as a dessert, it was pretty good and not too pricey, and it's a nice place to spend some time chatting with friends after a meal, for example. I really liked the spacious setup (lots of seats available) and the airy, well-lit ambience.

I ordered the Hojicha Latte (roasted green tea w/milk). The hojicha was grainy/clumpy and needed to be whisked more. The latte didn't have a lot of milk and tasted watery. The drink was also lukewarm and I expected it to be hot for a latte. I would stick to their desserts and pass on their drinks. In addition, the tables and chairs were very low. If you're a tall person, you may not find the seating comfortable.

Nana's Green Tea is a great spot to hang out with friends. The desserts are delicious, but the $13 parfait feels overpriced, as the quality doesn't quite justify the cost. While the $7 almost $8 teas are refillable, it's worth noting that they don't offer water.

I visited this late on a late afternoon on a Saturday. It was surprisingly packed for a brisk November with many people getting ice creams and parfaits. There was a long line that stretched just barely out the door that day. Despite the crowd, the line moved at a pretty decent pace, thanks to two ordering kiosks that were straight forward to use. Unfortunately, find a seating was a big challenge. The place was so busy that seating was rare and there were plenty of groups waiting like vultures for a spot. I managed to snag a small table for two, but if you're coming here on a weekend, be prepared to stand. We ordered a warm matcha latte and a matcha ice cream in a waffle cone. Both were really fantastic. The matcha flavor was rice and relatively authentic, not overly sweetened or powdery, which I really appreciated. The latte felt true to Asian matcha flavors, and the matcha ice cream was incredibly smooth and not overly sweet. Overall, this spot is a nice treat in a great location. I'd definitely recommend giving it a try even if there is a small wait.

Amazing spot to stop by for dessert or a quick drink. Perfect location in heralds square near the PATH and MTA and also near Penn station. Service is so quick - you order on the tablets located near the door and they will text you when it is ready. Plenty of seating. The mochi parfait (sesame or matcha or hojicha) is a MUST order. We also got a hojicha soft serve latte and the hojicha gateau chocolate cake. This is my second time coming and will definitely be back! I dont go to the city often but have always wanted to try Nana's for a while and finally had the chance to right before the new year! On a cold day, this spot was super packed with people ordering various things from hot tea, matcha lattes to ice cream! I came for their sundae so that was exactly what I got! The order itself was $12+ but there was a lot of components to it which was interesting. It came with matcha ice cream, red bean, mochi, matcha jello??, bran flakes, and soft serve ice cream in the middle I believe. Honestly did not know where to begin, but all I know was that it was finished and it was very good! Will be back for more!

Cute casual dessert place that specializes in Matcha, Hojicha and Sesame. There are parfaits, soft serve, and hot teas related to these flavors. We got the yuzu soft serve, matcha soft serve with matcha chocolate and a hot hojicha tea. (No sugar) The yuzu was refreshing and slightly tarty while the matcha was nice creamy and flavorful. Neither felt too heavy. The hochija hot tea was nice to drink while eating ice cream and you can ask for hot water refills. I just be old now that I like this combination. Simple and easy! Order at machine and find seat. Will be back because I love sesame flavored items, and portions are good and not a super heavy dessert.

I rarely visit K-town when I'm in the city, so I was surprised to see a matcha spot had opened up. If I remember correctly, this location used to be a bank. Regardless, we stopped by at night, and it was quite busy. It took a while to find seating since the place was packed. We ordered green tea, ice cream, and their parfait, sharing everything as a group. I was shocked that I couldn't finish it all, but everything was delicious. You could really taste the potency of the matcha in each item.

My friend is a matcha lover, so we finally made our way to Nana's Green Tea. We ordered the Matcha Green Tea (sugar free), Hojicha Latte, Yuzu Soft Serve, and Matcha Mochi Parfait. Matcha Green Tea ($5.50) - this is a matcha espresso diluted with water. My friend ordered it cold, but since there is no sugar, I think I would have preferred drinking it hot. There is a strong premium matcha taste. Hojicha Latte ($6.25) - this is roasted green tea with milk. I ordered it cold and liked that it had a strong hojicha taste Matcha Mochi Parfait ($12.45) - included matcha pudding, one scoop of ice-cream, red bean paste, corm flakes, and 3 mochi Yuzu Soft Serve ($8.45) - there was a good yuzu flavor in the ice cream, and I enjoyed the additional yuzu drizzle on top. I came in August and this was their seasonal ice cream flavor. There is a decent amount of seating and turnover is not very long, so it does not seem to be too much of an issue finding a seat.

Omg this place is amazing! I wish they had more locations because this one gets insanely busy. You order at a kiosk and even though the space is big, there is barely any where to sit because it gets so packed. The plus side is that the workers make your order super quick. I came here 3 times in the past month and tried the matcha, sakura, and hojicha parfaits. Each was so good!! I loved the ice cream and the jelly and the mochi balls. I honestly wish there was more mochi. Definitely will keep coming back here.

I must say I don't do well with caffeine but the way that matcha keeps me up is insane. First of all what a delicious silky smooth iced matcha. Secondly the service is quick and staff is friendly and the place is perfect for a little break at any hour of the day. I came back again the following week for an iced roasted matcha and it held on a little better than the strong caffeine of the plain matcha. Still delicious but the original is perfection. Have to come back to try the ice cream and parfait!!

Coming at night, when is this place not crowded? The store is actually very spacious, but always crowded at night. You order by the kiosk and retrieve them by the counter. I got the Matcha Soft Serve w/ Warabimochi ($7.95) and the matcha was so creamy and rich without being bitter. The warabimochi was kind of chalky on its own, but luckily they give 2 and it tasted fantastic blended with the ice cream. I would come back for their parfaits.

It's my like 4th time here because I love matcha so much! The space is big and is usually really crowded but it doesnt take that long to get a seat if you a quick to react! The matcha flavor is good and the waiting time isnt long. I have been to a few other matcha places and the price is quite reasonable compared to others. Would definitely be back!

I always see a long line out the door here when I pass by after having dinner in the area. Decided to check it out one day before dinner time and was surprised to find no line! and open seats! I shared the matcha warabimochi parfait with a friend. They also got a cold brew ujicha, which I didn't try so can't comment on that. The parfait was absolutely delicious and was the perfect size for two. I loved the different components and textures with the red bean paste, mochi, ice cream, corn flakes, and jelly. I'll definitely be back during non peak hours to try their other parfait options. Very solid dessert spot in the area!!

I went to the location in Seattle and was obsessed with the black sesame warabi mochi parfait, so I was SO excited to find out they opened a location in NYC! It's crazy packed but they're actually able to streamline things pretty well. There are three self-serve kiosks where you can place your order, and they flash your number on a screen when your order is ready for pickup. This time I tried the hojicha warabi mochi parfait. I love how their parfaits aren't too heavy and love the crunch from the corn flakes. If you haven't had warabi mochi before, it has more of a jelly texture than regular mochi. The only problem is that it's almost impossible to find a table. There were a lot of parties just sitting there so maybe it would be helpful if they encouraged people finished eating to leave just so there aren't so many people stuck standing in a corner just trying to eat their food without bumping into everyone.

I guess the hype of Nana's Green Tea finally dies down as the line wasn't as long as before when they just opened. It is relatively rare to see hojicha dessert than matcha in NYC so I had to get it. They also have black sesame parfait which I really wanna try next time. ＊Hojicha Mochi Parfait It was a good combo with hojicha and red bean paste. We wanted the warabimochi but they ran out of it. We shared one and it was super filling! Don't drink the syrup at the end like my bf. He said it's too sweet lol. Around $13 after tax for a parfait is reasonable, but I expected more. The parfait only had a small scoop of hojicha ice cream, and was mostly dominant by whipped cream and corn flakes. The hojicha jelly on the bottom was on the bitter side. I expected more hojicha flavor...

This is a great location, particularly on a hot summer evening, because it is well air-conditioned and spacious. I've been to their Seattle location, which I prefer for several reasons, detailed later below. You order through 1 of 3 smart menu tablets in front, which shortens the wait in line. We got the Yuzu parfait, which was light and very refreshing, but I much prefer their Matcha parfaits. The desserts here are delicious! However, there are three major downsides to this place: (1) For such a big place, there is only one bathroom (code printed on receipt), so there's always a wait. (2) Unlike their Seattle location, they don't offer complimentary water (only bottled water for sale). (3) They sneakily tap on an extra 5% gratuity during your final page of checkout, which is easy to miss. Gratuity for what exactly I'm not sure, since I placed the order myself online. I also wished they offered longer spoons for the parfaits. Despite all of the above, I still like Nana's green tea. I'll just be mindful of the sneaky automatic gratuity next time, as well as use a bathroom elsewhere if I'm in a rush.

Definitely a go to spot for some great matcha dessert. The parfait was so refreshing with a little cake, whip cream, red bean, ice cream and flakes. It was super tasty. I can't say much about the service considering you order on an electronic menu and pick up your order based on your order number. The ambiance is definitely lively but from what I have seen on weekdays it does not have a line out the door. Highly recommend.

For the price, I honestly think the ambiance at this place could be a lot nicer and also some level of service, but nope, you can order from a kiosk or a person, but that's pretty much all the service you're going to get. The parfait's themselves are delicious, I highly recommend them - I've tried the black sesame and the green ones and both were very good! The drinks were good too, but way overpriced compared to the parfaits. I think I just associate places like these with a beautiful place to sit and hang out as well, but this place really feels more like a food court - the layout is not that thoughtful, I always feel like I'm packed in like a sardine. To me, a parfait is a treat, it's something special, and I like to enjoy it in a nice space and I just think this one misses the mark a bit for that type of vibe. That being said, it's got very good parfaits and I'd recommend it for that.

honestly, the matcha here is WAYYY too sweet for me. good quality matcha, but wish they did not add the sweetener so the matcha could shine. Other than that, the space is huge and a great place to catch up with someone (there will always be somewhere to sit!) and get work done.

The matcha is very high quality and delicious! The mochi in the parfait, the matcha jelly, the matcha in the icecream, everything worked perfectly together. I would definitely come back. The only downside is it can get very loud and crowded and difficult to find a seat here.

Warabimochi parfait was super yummy! Love that it came with red bean and the matcha tasted like matcha. Super, super packed inside; a lot of people standing and eating since there weren't any seats--we managed to get one as someone was leaving, thankfully. Only wish they had spoons and not just sporks so I could scoop up some of the melted ice cream parts!

I got the matcha chocolate parfait and I'm slightly confused because I don't think it had chocolate but also not complaining because i got a wedge of matcha gateau instead? I just wish they had longer spoons! Starting from bottom up it included chunks of matcha pudding, vanilla softserve, some matcha syrup, crunchy cereal, a scoop of matcha ice cream, a scoop of redbean, whipped cream, a wedge of matcha cake & a little more matcha syrup. I love that nothing was too sweet and it had good matcha flavor. The pudding wasnt sweet so when you had with the vanilla soft serve so it was perfect. The redbean was also not too sweet so it worked well with everything else and i loved that you could feel the texture of the beans and it wasnt too paste-y. The matcha gateau was dense, almost the texture of a dry-er brownie and had good matcha taste. I just wish the softserve was also matcha flavor! My friend got the hojicha warabi mochi parfait. I hadnt tried much of it but I did try the hojicha pudding and it was soo roasty toasty. If you like hojicha i think it had great hojicha flavor! Overall very very impressed with the balance of flavors & textured and will be back to try the black sesame!

Got an iced matcha latte which tasted smooth and delicious! I only wish I could adjust the sweetness since it was a tad too sweet for me. Ambiance was cute!

This place is honestly meh and overly packed! My friends and I came here for dessert after dinner on a Friday night and the place was so crowded. It was really difficult to find a seat as everyone was trying to hit up the spot too after dinner. The seats are first come first serve but when a table finally opens up, they would mostly be in dirty conditions and you have to clean the table yourself. We ordered the hojicha parfait to share which was alright, not really that tasty. The hojicha scoop itself was quite small and the parfait was filled with a bunch of other stuff that weren't that good either. While we were eating the dessert, the 2 seater table next to us freed up and a group of 5 people tried to squeeze into that 2 seater table next to us which was ridiculous and uncomfortable as these people have no consideration of personal space and just was practically edging us out of our seats. Would definitely avoid eating desserts there during prime time unless you're getting something to go.

As someone who's been out of the NYC food scene for a few years, I tagged along with my much hipper friends to Nana's Green Tea for a post-dinner treat. Anytime someone mentions matcha and soft serve in the same breath, I'm down. Nana's did not disappoint. We ordered one of the matcha parfaits and the soft serve itself was extremely creamy, with good matcha flavor. I also loved the other components, from the mochi to the grass jelly to the gob of red bean to the cornflakes for some nice textural crunch. Though I will say this was a good size to split with one other friend, I was getting a little sugared out by the end. You order at the kiosk at the front and then you get the order when it's ready. Our parfait came out quickly and even though there's actually quite a lot of seating and turnover wasn't bad, we still had to wait a bit for a table to clear.

Delicious matcha drinks!!! It's super spacious inside lots of tables and calming music seems like a good place to study/work but didn't see many people studying; large windows across the walls so lighting is great - matcha latte was delicious, not too sweat and strong matcha flavor and drinks came out within few minutes! There was a kiosk to self order from.

The atmosphere and decor is very modern and clean. It's a great spot for small groups to gather for a snack or dessert. The matcha parfait is very balanced with the different textures and sweetness level was perfect. I do wish the matcha was stronger. Overall it was delicious. The matcha jelly at the bottom was refreshing. The mochi was chewy and soft. My friend and I had a great time sitting at this cafe. We didnt feel rushed. The restroom is clean. There's a code for customers to use. The staff is friendly and cordial.

I've been here a handful of times now and have enjoyed the food every time. I've tried the ice cream, parfaits, iced match, and black sesame latte. The matcha flavor is pretty good. Not the best that I've had but it will do when I'm in the area and craving some matcha. Service is pretty quick, even when there is a long time. You placed your order in one of the three machines at the entrance and just wait for your number to be called. The place has a lot of seating and it's well lit. Even when it's busy, turn around time for a seat is not bad. They also do seasonal items, which keeps the menu fresh and interesting.

Decent matcha flavor but slightly thick and vaguely powdery mouthfeel, which made it a bit more filling (had already been stuffed from previous eats and was gearing up for dinner :) ) than I had planned for. I enjoyed it though! I liked the taste and sweetness level. The interior is sleek and a nice place to sit and chat--it's pretty crowded, but the spacing between the tables is appropriate and still feels comfortable. The ordering system is reasonably efficient, but I wish they had an app or text notification for when orders are complete.
