"Redondo Beach’s Nanas notes a similar drop in business in March and April. Co-owner Jonathan Anzaldi says his receipts are down by 25 percent for the month of April compared to the beginning of the year. Anzaldi opened his South Bay ghost kitchen with fiance George Torres in early January. The couple quickly found a following in Redondo Beach, where Torres combines recipes from their Mexican and Italian grandmothers." - Mona Holmes

The story of Jonathan and George is super sweet and I wish them the best on their journey to a brick and motar space!! So glad I was able to make it to this event! They are currently located in an industrial plaza in Redondo Beach, but are making food that deserves it's own places in a bustling area. Their Signature Meatballs are definitely a highlight! So delish and perfect cooked filled with flavors all throughout. The sauce is light, but so bold and flavorful. The meatball itself is savory and super juicy!! Definitely some of the most pristine and well-balanced meatballs I have ever eaten. I also added their Shrimp Ceviche to-go as well. While I enjoyed it, I felt it was more of a slaw than a ceviche dish. I wish there was more shrimp throughout, but it was still good. There were a lot of savory and herbal elements with some sweet notes and spicy hits. You definitely want to eat this as fresh as possible otherwise you're fresh tortilla chips will get soggy. All in all, I'm excited for them to continue to expand and next time around I gotta try out one of their pasta dishes!!

Italian/Mexican restaurant in Redondo thats LGBTQ-friendly. Came here on Wednesday with a friend around 5:30pm. If you plug in the restaurant name into Google Maps, you’ll be taken to the right place. It’s located inside a shared kitchen but there’s a GrubHub sign in the door that shows you’re at NANAS. No indoor or outdoor dining is currently available, it’s pickup/takeout. Just walk through the doors and head towards the open kitchen/counter at the back to order/pick up your items. We met Jonathan, one of the owners, who is super sweet and affable. You taste the care that’s put into the food (the cavatappi pasta in the spicy tomato sauce is something you won’t regret!). I got the jalapeño pesto with the bucatini pasta (you have the option of selecting your pasta - rigatoni, cavatappi (a spiral) and the aforementioned bucatini. Free parking is available in the lot. Note that there was construction happening. They do take credit cards. Portion sizes are generous and I had leftovers for sizable lunch the next day. Enjoy!

Completely cashless and only takeout orders for now. The only way to order food is to place an order via their website online. I was amazed at how cool the website was; I could even use Apple Pay via my phone! I like how they have cool pasta options with all the ridges to hold all the sauce. I chose cavatappi to get some fun twists with NANAS tomato sauce. The turkey meatballs are AMAZING. Such great flavor and nice and dense. Portions are huge and sized for sharing. Super friendly service.

Fantastic food plus it was super easy to order and pick up. We tried the Jalapeno Pesto Pasta, Chicken parmesan, Caesar salad, and the deconstructed elote. Everything was really flavorful and very generous portions. It was packed nicely for take out, with each item labeled, hot and cold food packed separately, and a lovely handwritten note from the owners. The chicken parm was excellent - the chicken tasted really fresh and juicy. The Jalepeno pesto was a little spicy for me but I have a very low spice tolerance. My husband thought it was the perfect spiciness. We had plenty of food left over too! We love Mexican and Italian food and we're thrilled to have both cuisines represented at one restaurant! We are already planning our next meal, we can't wait!

When I heard Mexican AND Italian I was already sold! Add a tribute to Nana’s home cooking and I’m over the moon. Lucky for me they were running an LA WEEK special so we could try several preselected menu items from 3 food categories for only $40. Very generous portions could easily feed 3 people. I got the gluten-free pasta with Nanas Marinara sauce as my choice of pasta and sauce. For my entree I chose Calabrian Shrimp Tacos and for my side I ordered Inside Out Loaded Quesadilla. All three were out of this world. The flavors did not stop after the first few bites. My only dilemma now is how to try other items when I want to re-order the three I already tried. The owners, George and Jonathan, couldn’t be nicer and welcome each guest when you pick up your food, which I would highly recommend, so you can meet them. They are located in a Ghost Kitchen in the small Industrial Park off Manhattan Beach Blvd, near Inglewood Ave. Good signage makes them easy to find. If you love amazing flavors, this place is for you!

It’s always great trying new up and coming places in the area. We were looking for some pasta to fix our cravings and they did not disappoint! We ordered the Deconstructed Elote (it’s a must!), Turkey Meatballs, Chicken Chimichurri, and Jalapeño Pesto which was by far our favorite. The pesto was perfectly blanched with the amount of spice to each bite. You keep wanting to go back for more. Everything was great and the portions were perfect to share. I’m excited to try more from their menu.

Love their food! The lemon parsley pasta is delicious and the chicken chimichurri is flavorful & spicy. All the side dishes are delicious and VERY generous! meatballs are tasty & huge, broccoli was fresh and cooked perfectly.

Feels like home cooking. High quality ingredients, awesome combination of flavors, and everything is super fresh. Chicken parmesan: Moist, juicy, super fragrant tomato sauce, and wonderfully charred edges. Creamy tomato pasta: Very rich and decadent, I definitely felt guilty/spoiled eating this. The sauce was the perfect consistency (freshness of onions really cut through!) and beautifully coated the rigatoni. Jalapeño pesto pasta: Also very decadent, but the surprise was that there was the true flavor of the jalapeño without the heat. Really enjoyable and I could really feel the Mexican-Italian fusion of flavors. Chicken chimichurri: Perfectly tender and moist chicken, which is so hard to do with the breast meat! Also super fresh lemon flavor. Caesar salad was also super fresh, deconstructed elotes were FULL of flavor, and the inside-out quesadilla was perfectly crisp. I’d highly recommend you give this hidden gem a shot. We’ll definitely be ordering again!
