"Todd Minor, co-owner of Nana’s Southern Kitchen in Kent, Washington. Minor serves fried chicken and other Southern staples in a takeout format, and he says the community supported the restaurant in the first half of the year despite the statewide stay at home order. Then, in the first week of June, his customer pool increased significantly. By the end of 2020, its first full year of operation, the restaurant had far surpassed expectations, serving 35,000 customers." - Brittany Hutson

The fried catfish, greens, cornbread, and mac and cheese were amazing! 💯 On the next trip, I'll try the pork chop! Excellent service! 🫡 Unfortunately, I'm sorry to report that there is no beer... 😔The fish would've gone nice with an ice-cold lager!!

I usually never write reviews unless it was extremely good or absolutely awful. The food was overall just terrible. The catfish made me nauseous while I was eating, but it didn't taste expired and I never get stomach aches from food, so that was new. I paid 51$ for two plates and had like 8 catfish nuggets..... For 22$. My plate was so light I almost thought nothing was in it. Even after adding my sides it didn't amount to much compared to the amount I can get from other places. My wife kept finding skin in her yams constantly and I've never seen that before. For the same price elsewhere I can leave with a heavy plate that is so filling I will still have it the next day. I'm so disappointed, I had so many people recommend this place just for my wife and I to not even want to finish our food. Considering the amount and quality of everything it should've been at least 25$ with a tip. The portions are terrible. Panda Express gives you WAY more food for 10$. The value is not here, won't be coming back and I really just need a refund.

The food is delicious. The customer service was not the best from the cashier. It was 9:02 PM and I was told that the dining room closes at nine so when I asked for them to make an accommodation because I’ve been in line for 10 minutes, they said yes, but she had an attitude

Nana’s Kitchen absolutely blew us away! The food was hands down the best—every single dish was bursting with flavor, like true Southern comfort made with love. The portions were incredibly generous, perfect for sharing (or taking home for later because you will want more). The service was out of this world. The lady at the front of house was so kind and welcoming—it really felt like walking into someone’s home. She made the whole experience even more special. We will definitely be back! If you’re craving delicious, soulful Southern cooking, Nana’s Kitchen is the place to go.

Google
You can never go wrong at Nana’s … you can always expect a friendly greeting at the door with the lovely smells of southern cooking floating in the air ! Everything was fried tooooo perfection. You can tell they changed the grease out regularly! Def probably one the best places in Washington to get fried catfish !! I also took an order of oxtails home and banana pudding 10 out of 10 !! And will be back again .. Everyone is welcome so don’t miss out and stop in I

Went here for dinner back on July 15th, 2024 the day before our 7 day Alaska cruise. I was not disappointed. I ordered the pork chop meal with macaroni and green beans. My Wife ordered the veggie dinner with collard greens, cabbage, sweet potatoes, and macaroni. The pork chops was so tender, and seasoned to perfection. I like to make macaroni myself, and it couldn't touch mine, but it was still good. My Wife enjoyed all her veggies. I should have known when we walked in and heard the southern gospel music playing, it was going to be some good eating. I think they are carrying on the tradition of their Nana, and it has a lot family history on the walls. Staff was so nice. I left my jacket, and they hung it up for me until I got back to pick it up. I highly recommend Nana's Southern Kitchen if you're in the area or visiting.

I hate to do this but I have to be honest. The past two times that I've purchased meals from this restaurant, I've been less than satisfied. Yesterday, I picked up a meal to-go. I got fried pork chops, candied yams, collards, & mac & cheese and a slice of lemon cake. The pork chops, hot and great in size, lacked flavor. I'm talking completely tasteless. The candied yams were straight mush!!! Almost an over mixed souffle consistency. The mac & cheese, had the best flavor but very evident it wasn't made fresh that morning. Now let's talk about the collard greens. These were the most tasteless, undercooked collards I've ever eaten in all of my life. I also grabbed a slice of cake which unbeknownst to me is $10 (dessert prices blacked out on the menu). The cake was so small and just wasn't that appetizing. $35 and not being satisfied is so disappointing. It's been several months since I've gone until yesterday and I remember getting cabbage that time and they were so salty, that they were beyond edible. I can't keep throwing my money away trying to continuing to support this restaurant.

Yelp
Where do I start? Everything is a 10 out of 10 . I got the oxtails and rice with mac & cheese and yams and the first thing that super impressive is the massive portion of oxtails . When you dig in, everything is wonderfully seasoned. You don't find good cooking like this. Seriously, this is a hidden gem in plain sight . I lived up here. I would eat this every single day. Service was great . It makes me feel at home. I travel all over and I will say that this restaurant is the best that I have been to on the west coast in 2 years.

Yelp
My last experience was about a year and a half ago. I had a not so good experience and just left matters there after a review. Kyan, immediately reached out to me and wanted to address my concerns. Fast forward more than a year later, I followed up with the conversation and we had a conversation about my previous experience. I stopped by today and picked up a replacement meal in an effort to make things right. I got home after some rough traffic about 1.5 hours later and reheated my meal. I'm a creature of habit and chose something else. I got the pork chop since they no longer sell catfish filets. I'm not much of a catfish nuggets person. I got two pork chops, corn bread, Mac and cheese, yams, potato salad and a lemonade. ($29.73 normally, complimentary this visit). The pork chop is simple and not too thick. The yams are always a favorite. The potato salad does have a different taste than I remember, and the Mac and cheese is pretty standard. This experience is on par to my previous experiences with Nana's and I'm happy to have given them another chance. The yams were even better the next day. Kyan made a wonderful point, it's important to let businesses know when they're doing both good and bad so they have an opportunity to fix whatever needs fixing. Best of luck with your future endeavors, the company is in good hands!

Yelp
Had been wanting to try Nana's for awhile. Came from the Rainier Beach area for lunch. Split a two side one main with my dad. probably would do the two main next time and skip adding the cornbread. We had the catfish with potato salad and collard greens. I always get greens if it's available my dad chose the potato salad as the other. I'm usually fairly picky about pitas salad cause my mom used ti make a really good theirs was very good. The catfish was moist and the coating stuck well which says a lot we got it with the Nana's sauce. The sides come generously portioned. The service was very friendly. And helpful when I asked questions about the menu and her favorites. The server is very good about using your name when serving you. Space is well lit lots of natural lighting and clean. Would definitely visit again if in the area

Yelp
This is some of the best food you'll ever have on this side of the state. The menu is simple because every one of the choices offered is great. However, the ox tail here has a next level kick of flavor and texture unlike anything I've ever tasted. That is something worth driving an hour (or more) to get. They don't call it a southern kitchen for nothing also; aside from the great food, the loving southern hospitality makes you feel like you stepped into a portal to have dinner with your auntie from Georgia that you've known all your life. The restaurant does not seat many people so call ahead or plan for take out.

Koa B.

Yelp
I've been craving for some good fried chicken, so we finally came here. Been wanting to come here for some time now & I'm glad I did. The menu is simple, not a bad thing, I came for fried chicken & that's what I got! 1 main & 2 sides...It came with 4 pcs of chicken wings, a bowl of mac & cheese and collards with a piece of cornbread. The chicken had a nice crisp and was perfectly seasoned, as were the sides. Everything was delicious. They seem to have a lot of regulars come to pick up their orders.

Yelp
Came back again after a long time and the food just seems better when you dine in. The catfish was juicy and flavorful. The service is always good the staff always make sure to be communicative and chat with their customer. They have a way to customers and definitely make people feel welcomed. The mac and cheese was cheesy but not enough salt for me but I think it's because you can add your own incase there's someone who needs to watch their sodium intake. My husband and I were the only ones inside the restaurant eating usually I see a lot of people doing take out only. We actually enjoyed sitting there.

Yelp
This is a tough one...more of a 3.5 stars. I am going to start off with the positive, which is...holy hospitality! The ladies who work here are super friendly, attentive, and courteous! Amazing!!! (5 star hospitality!) The place is non-pretentious and holds a lot of the restaurant's history, pride, and glory. Absolutely love that! The food took a bit longer, but they let us know as soon as we ordered cause they make em FRESH! For an entrée of fried chicken and 2 sides, it was $22. You do get 4 whole chicken wings! Here is where I'm a bit torn...I thought the fry/crispiness was great on the wings, but the fries could've used another minute or 2. The flavor was also good, but could've used a tad bit more salt. (Disclaimer - I didn't use any sauce). The chicken was not the juiciest, but it was still good. The potatoes had great flavor and the Mac & cheese was not to my personal liking as this is a drier Mac and cheese and I prefer a creamier, saucier, Mac. So overall, the food was good. My personal fave was surprisingly the cornbread and their can't miss sweet tea! Would I come back? Absolutely! I will probably try to fried catfish the next time.

Adia R.

Yelp
Food: the fried foods were fried well and seasoned well. The sides were passable. Yams way too sweet, Mac n cheese was mushy and disintegrated in my mouth. My homegirl had the string beans and potato salad and said they were ok. I've tried here before and wasn't impressed but came for a ladies day so thought I'd try it again. Service: the service was great everyone was extremely friendly and accommodating. Ambiance: I like how they have a tribute table for Nana. The atmosphere is diner style.

Tyron C.

Yelp
Food was absolutely amazing! Everything was perfectly seasoned and the customer service was phenomenal.

Mirna C.

Yelp
The food felt like a warm hug. The lady that helped me was so sweet, I felt right at home

Yelp
On my way back from the Tacoma RV show, wanted to try a new place since I don't come this far south very often. Nana's Southern Kitchen was a fantastic choice! It's the first time I've ever had proper catfish & the first collard greens I've ever had. Both were perfectly prepared & the mac & cheese was awesome too! The service was extraordinary. This place is a must try if you like southern fare.

Yelp
Another beautiful day for a food adventure! We wanted to try Nana's Southern Kitchen this week, so we made a short drive to Kent. Upon arriving, we ordered our food at the front. We got 2 mains (chicken wings and catfish), 2 sides (mac & cheese and fries), corn bread, and Nana's special sauce for $33 total. We asked to do take out, so we waited in our car for them to bring out the food. Right away, I noticed how much food was in the boxes. I appreciated the big portion sizes of each food. The fries were seasoned well and had a fluffy interior. The chicken wings and catfish outer coating had a satisfying crunch to it, and the inside was juicy. You could tell that they had a few different cheeses in the mac and cheese, which made the flavor more complex. One thing I noticed was that the catfish and chicken breading didn't have much flavor/seasoning to them, and it made me wishing for something more. If the protein had as much seasonings as the fries, they would be on point!

Shameka B.

Yelp
I am glad I tried this Black owned business after visiting Seattle. The restaurant has a small seating capacity. The place is clean. The food portion size is plenty and cooked to order. I tried the oxtail. The flavor was mouth watering but small in size.

Kathy N.

Yelp
Really good. I been wanting to go here for years but kept putting it off and now I wish I went sooner! I got the 2 mains + 2 sides option with fried chicken, catfish nuggets, macaroni and cheese, and greens for $30 ($33 after tax). I also added on cornbread. I got it to-go and the order was nicely brought out to my car after only a 10 minute wait. The food was super hot. I thought the chicken was delicious and the catfish nuggets were just ok. I didn't love the catfish as much as I thought I would because it wasn't very well seasoned and was quite oily (like bite into it and feel enough oil come out that you can spit out the oil--not a great image, I know, but it happened). For me, the real stars were the sides. The sides were packed with flavor, literally some of the best macaroni and cheese and greens I've ever had. Next time I think I'd get the option for 1 main + 2 or 3 sides which is a little cheaper and won't be as heavy, since all of the main items are fried. The cornbread was delicious in terms of flavor but texture-wise was incredibly crumbly. This meal was enough to split between me and my sister so I thought it was well priced for what you get.

Joe S.

Yelp
I had dinner at Nana's Southern Kitchen last night. Before I left, I told the staff that I had died and gone to heaven. I wish I was exaggerating! I got the chicken wings and catfish with mac & cheese and collard greens. Oh. My. God. This restaurant knows what its doing when it comes to some Southern cooking! Everything tasted absolutely amazing and I cannot wait to go back for more!

The Fortunate Chef O.

Yelp
The food here is great! I had the oxtails with rice and gravy, and I shared orders of greens, candied yams (One of my favorite dishes), and fried catfish. The food was great, the oxtail were tender and very flavorful, the candied yams were perfect. I wish they had some Peach cobbler or sweet potato pie for dessert but those are just preferences rather than problems. I'd definitely recommend Nana's if you want some great southern food.

Nam V.

Yelp
Ambiance: a standard dining set up. Service: excellent service. The waitress gave a story if nanas cooking and how this shop came to be. Very attentive. Food: never had southern food before but I would imagine this be pretty darn close. We had the catfish and it was crispy and juicy. I look forward to trying their other southern snacks!

Shaye P.

Yelp
food is real good & the service is short n quick one of my fav spots in kent + the location is great cuz they're real close to drink spots (that usually change every couple months lol) but I usually get both a drink nearby and nana's

Lori T.

Yelp
We ordered the catfish, fried pork chops, candied yams, potato salad, collard greens, and green beans. We all thought everything was delicious especially the catfish! While we were eating Nana's daughter or granddaughter (I can't remember the relationship to Nana) was cleaning off a table near us when she looked at our table and noticed we didn't have Nana's special house sauce for the catfish. She went and got us a few containers of Nana's special house sauce. She stopped and chatted with us. She told us we needed to come back at Christmas because that's when Nana started the tradition of feeding people for free. She said Nana believed in community and was giving. Nana sounded like a great person. Everyone who worked there was so friendly. Nana's Southern Kitchen is located in a strip mall and is easy to find. There's ample parking.

Tracy K.

Yelp
The food was spot on. I got the chicken with 2 sides. I went with the mac n cheese and the green beans. Those green beans are magic. My friend got the yams and THOSE were amazing. I didn't have room for dessert so I might start with that next time. The servings are big but not The staff was very friendly and checked in on us to make sure we didn't need anything. We did need To Go boxes because we couldn't finish our meals. The setting is welcoming. Sort of like going to your Nana's kitchen and sitting down at the table and having a comforting meal. I look forward to going back for dessert and trying some of the other menu offerings...like the oxtail meal. This perfection takes a little time so order ahead if you're in a rush.

Vanessa B.

Yelp
Wow the food blew us away! We were homesick for some real southern cooking and Nana's delivered! We ordered online and got the 2 entrees 2 sides plate, and we each got a piece of cornbread which was included in the order. My wife had the fried shrimp and dipped in hot sauce, and I had the fried chicken. The chicken was 10/10, flavorful and juicy! My only complaint was it was almost too much food haha. My wife loved her entree too, but the candied yams honestly stole the show. They were so good, sweet and heavy on the cinnamon the way I love it. The mac and cheese side was ok; a bit heavy on the black pepper for my taste but delicious alongside everything else. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
The best Soul Food In Kent Wa 253 Come check them out for yourself. Asap! They are the best!

Sharon H.

Yelp
Customer service was above and beyond the best I've experienced since pre-COVID. Food was fresh and delicious. Didn't get a chance to sample the dessert but they looked amazing as well. They don't cook it until you order it so, it's a little bit of a wait but completely worth it!

Daniel R.

Yelp
I was so disappointed with this place, I had my eye on this restaurant for 2 years and finally was able to eat it one day. I was super excited for some "good" soul food! I have lived in Alabama for more than 4 years and have experienced all the cuisines in the south east region. I don't know if it was just bad luck or bad food I ordered the fried chicken and shrimp with Mac n cheese and Candi yams. Everything besides the yams just tasted bland and unseasoned not an ounce of soul. The Mac n cheese didn't even taste cheesy it tasted like wet noodles. Leaves me nervous to go back and try anything else. Other than that the restaurant looked great and the staff was friendly

Jen R.

Yelp
Delicious and great service! Will visit again. The chicken is seasoned and cooked to perfection and the green beans were amazing. We ended with some lemon cake

Victoria D.

Yelp
I got the catfish nuggets and mac and cheese. Everything was fresh and well seasoned. The catfish was nice and crispy, yet soft and delicate inside. I got take out and they brought my food out to my car which was so nice. Great quick spot for all the yummy southern food.

Edward M.

Yelp
Good food. Has limited menu selection and high price for the southern food served. Service was good however the ambiance/ environment did not have a comfy cozy feel.

Kahin O.

Yelp
I was terribly underwhelmed with the quality of the food today. I went in with very high hopes of getting a taste of home being from the south but to my dismay all I found was tasteless Mac and cheese with random hard pieces scattered throughout. Although the "Jumbo Shrimp" was seasoned well nothing about it was jumbo. I cannot say anything about the service because I took it to go but the man up front seemed nice enough. Ambiance was fairly welcoming other than the large crack in the window from what I can only assume was an attempted break in. Overall I wouldn't see myself coming here again unless there's some sort of change.

C B.

Yelp
Yummy homemade Southern Fried Chicken! I was looking for good fried chicken and this came up on the search. If you're looking for a legit fried chicken that's made fresh, this is it! My husband was a fan of the pork chops and the fries are really good too! Corn bread is light and fluffy. It's just food from your grandma's kitchen. Ms Cayenne is lovely and sweet lady.

Luis R.

Yelp
Ain't no souther kitchen like Nana's kitchen! Go check this out if you're craving southern food!

Marie B.

Yelp
The College Friend and I wandered over to Nana's Southern Kitchen (forgot to do a Yelp check-in) from Tasty Doux (6/8/22). Make a mental note from the Tasty Doux person about her fried chicken recommendation at Nana's. This is located in a small strip mall, next door to Starbucks. No onsite dining observed. After placing and paying for a takeout order, one waits outside and your name is called out after a brief wait. The College Friend ordered Two Items (fried chicken & pork chops) and Two Sides (potato salad & green beans). I ordered One Item (fried chicken = 4 whole chicken wings) and Two Sides (potato salad & mac and cheese) for $18. I opted for no sauce, beverage, or flatware...received disposable utensils and napkin anyways. Later back home in Shoreline, I ate one wing, sampled a bite of each selected side, and ate the complimentary cornbread. Decent, the majority will be gobbled up later by The Homie. I appreciated the compostable container lined with foil which kept the chicken hot and crispy in transit, plus noted the generous sides in recyclable containers. Base price of $18, plus tax, 20% tip, and a 7% service charge came out to under $25. There is no mention of the latter service charge at the ordering counter. See added Yelp tip I added with a screenshot. Just saying as an fyi. Good to give it a first try for lunch while visiting Kent. I'll stick to my fried chicken favorites in Seattle though: Cookie's Country Chicken (Ballard), The Chicken Supply (Phinney Ridge), and S/T Hooligans (Frelard/Balmont).

Takara N.

Yelp
The food was phenomenal reminded my husband and I of our families old-time cooking that you don't find here. He's from the New York I'm from Texas. Staff were so friendly, kind and passionate about their food and keeping it how nana would have it. The atmosphere was so welcoming with lovely music playing which was perfect for a Sunday lunch.

Sergey L.

Yelp
Incredibly generous portions that are well priced! The catfish nuggets was perfectly cooked and seasoned and tasted phenomenal with the house tartar sauce. I had a side of potato salad and string beans that made for a delicious combo with the sweetness of the potatoes and the saltiness of the beans. KC and his older cousin are top notch. KC gave me fantastic suggestions and made me feel right at home, and his older cousin was the chef behind all the magic. Their recipes have been handed down from their great aunt "Nana", not some corporate office. So you know it'll be good :) The walls are filled with accolades and pictures of Nana, as well as a small corner dedicated to celebrating their successful first anniversary. The southern urban playlists keep the space lively, as well as all the happy customers that seem to know KC on a personal level. I could see that he is a very humble and hard working man. I will be coming back anytime I'm in town. Thank you!

Titus B.

Yelp
I had an issue and was contacted by the HR and problem was fixed. Item was left off order and it was compensated x's 2 by owner along with a lunch meal!

Yelp
I randomly stumbled on Nana's Southern Kitchen while scrolling on Yelp this morning & maaaan it did NOT disappoint! First off - spectacular service. I forgot the cashier's name but she was the sweetest, super personable, & gave great recommendations. She is also the one who bakes the cornbread & man she didn't play!! So good! They have a few delicious entrees & sides to choose from. Of course I had to try the Catfish Nuggets first & they were delicious. I decided to get the 1 entree & 3 sides combo, I chose double collars greens (so glad I did bc they were fire so I was happy to take some as left overs) & the mac & cheese which also was delicious! I had some vanilla pound cake for dessert bc they didn't have any banana pudding today but it also was so good! The restaurant was more of a café setting, small & more intimate with enough seating. It was pretty quiet. The restaurant was very clean & again I have to mention the service was wonderful!! I'll definitely be back. If you're in Kent you have to check out this gem - you'll be happy you did!

C A.

Yelp
Well, I decided to try them again even though I didn't get to take advantage of their offer of a replacement meal. The reason being is they seem to be argumentative, as seen on these responses by the owner, and I didn't feel like going back and forth with anyone today. They said my name was in a book for the future, but that was a year or so ago so I paid for my meal today. ANYWAYS, very lackluster and disappointing still. I would've given a full 3-3.5 had I received a bit more warm greeting regardless of the food. Ordered the Porkchops: Seasoned fairly well, could've used a bit more salt, but hot sauce saved it. However, holy cow, it was filled with copious amounts of oil and grease!!! I'm not trying to check out that soon. I mean it literally oozed out of the chop and the oil sat in the box, so much so, that I had to take the napkins that I grabbed fortunately, and sop it up before consuming. This is unacceptable to me and an easy fix. Although they were fresh and right out of the fryer, it would be a better option to leave them on a rack and let some of that oil drain, and then also consider using a piece of parchment paper to the box and put the pork chops on as well as lining the rest of the food. Greens: surprisingly the most flavorful thing, but overly spiced. If you don't like like really spicy greens, I wouldn't opt for these. Didn't really get that big portion also. Yams: very sweet literally mush. I thought it looked like sweet potato filling, but it had a nice taste to it. Were very hot, I enjoyed these for the most part! Mac and cheese: I happen to like a dryer mac & cheese vs. What I assume most people actually like. So the mac & cheese is pretty good to me, although it has a slight curdle to it, had some pretty good flavor and cheese pull here and there. Chicken wings: were not good to me and they lacked flavor, which was very disappointing. They were also very yellow in color, as if they used turmeric or mustard maybe? Great coating fried pretty well, but was lacking salt. And I'm not a salt heavy person whatsoever. It lacked other seasonings as well. Cornbread: Tasted fresher today, but no sweet component that most people go for in cornbread which is usually why I don't like cornbread I don't wanna eat cake for cornbread. However, this one could've used a tiny bit of sweetness, maybe. What I don't understand is why it was placed in the same container of chicken wings? Again with no parchment paper or lining to separate it. Just haphazardly thrown in there. Napkins and silverware: how am I supposed to use my napkin if it is wrapped and taped around one piece of napkin? I was not able to use it because it was taped. The tape is unnecessary and you should offer napkins. I'm glad I grab the ones I did to up all of that oil that I mentioned pork chops. So this time around, I decided to give a more detailed review and to try them again and give them a fair shot, even though I did not get a chance to take advantage of their offer for me to return and have a free meal. But I'm still not sure if I would return unless all of the things that I mentioned were addressed, considered, and changed.

Big D.

Yelp
All I can say is, I wish I could give them 10 stars! The food was everything that I expect when eating soulful food. The service was welcoming and informative. The Ambiance of the restaurant was clean and decorated nicely. My cashier was so nice and helpful. I forgot her name but I remember she is Nana's oldest granddaughter. When I come back to Seattle, this will be my first stop. Thank you so much.

Sue K.

Yelp
I had a not feeling good review. But the owner herself reached out to me, and we had a great conversation. We are on the same page. Some young people could not only use a leg up, but need a chance to learn business and customer service. I'm all for that. So please forgive my not so good rating and complaint. Thx Ms K! I can't wait to go back now. You are a 5 Star lady.

Liyah S.

Yelp
Great service by Kyan & the kitchen crew! Beautiful & clean place! Felt like I was visiting relatives! Food was amazing! Would definitely come back! Portions are well worth the bill!

Yelp
Come early in the day otherwise by evening time they will run out of a few menu items. I've had my fair share of southern eats and Nana's will cure a craving but I wouldn't go as far as hitting the spot. When I want southern eats, the first thing is eating with your eyes, then the flavors just have to really get you to savor every bite. You want to feel the "i'tis" afterwards and just sit there recontemplating your life choices. All plating looked pretty sparse for the dollar amount paid but I can live with that considering I understand inflation - but presentation was boring and the food was okay at best. The shrimp was like fried shrimp. The mac and cheese was neither here nor there in flavor. The greens was pretty decent but didn't have that "wow factor" My friend had the pork chop which was juicy but again smaller portions and nothing to rave about. Overall - again, good to cure a hankering for southern eats but I wouldn't say it's my first choice for soul food.

Yelp
I had not eaten here in over a year. I remember it being really good. I came in today for catfish dinner. I got the catfish nuggets, greens and potato salad. The catfish was too seasoned and the skin was left on it. The potato salad is sweet Not a fan. The greens and cornbread was really all I ate it was good.

Yelp
1st time at Nana's, and 1st time trying Southern food... I had Catfish, collards, Mac & cheese and the banana pudding!! Everyone at Nana's, so nice and attentive to your needs whether eating in or picking up your order.. very clean and has many informative clippings on the business to read, while listening to great music. All amazing! Will definitely come back..

Yelp
Meh..... The food is so so except for the potato salad, expensive for what you get, and the service is bad. A real attitude from the staff.

Yelp
This food spot was alright , definitely expected better. We spent $30 for the oxtail combo and it was put in a very tiny container maybe 8 ounce , wasn't very much in it . The oxtails were good though . The catfish was okay , it's more of catfish bites but was decent . Cornbread was an overall No . The macaroni cheese is probably my favorite from this place .

Yelp
Everything was amazing!! Food, staff, and atmosphere. It felt like a big warm hug. Made with love and with God's blessings. I wasn't the only who agreed because my boyfriend was nodding his head and usually when that happens, it meant the food was hitting LOL.

Yelp
TERRIBLE. I placed an order with them through Doordash. Easily one of the worst orders I've received. The chicken was very dry and seemingly unseasoned. The rice wasn't cooked properly it was soggy mush. Half of my Mac and cheese was burnt as if it was scrapings out the bottom of the pan. MULTIPLE missing items. I did not receive my sweet tea, I did not receive my Collard greens, nor did I receive my potato salad. The side sauces I paid extra for were also missing. I'm in disbelief of the terrible service and quality of this place. And with the prices skyrocketing for delivery it's just completely unacceptable. I will never order from this place again.

Yelp
Let me break it down for you. I've got one good thing to say and that's the customer service. The customer service was exceptional. I felt very welcomed. Now to the food: I ordered one of their combo options and two pieces of pie. Pie was bland and did not taste like sweet potato pie but more like a can of yams. The crust tasted like play dough and yes I said play dough. Greens had a thick consistency and tasted like vinegar. This is an acquired taste. To be fair I am used to smoked ham hock/shank for flavor etc. so this is a preference opinion. Cabbage: completely bland and I purchased for my mom. My mom didn't like them either and she's from the Caucasus persuasion so that says a lot. She continued to eat them because she wanted to get her vegetable intake. I didn't want to tell her that there's not much nutrients. Fried chicken. Purchased for my son. The color was too light. It may or may not have been cooked completely IDK. No one ate it. I will not be returning but I did appreciate the great customer service.
