"There are plenty of spots in Durham to get a great steak, but only one place combines a dedication to the American steakhouse with top notch service and some of the quirky cuisine that has made the Bull City one of North Carolina’s premier dining towns. The hand cut chop options options include ribeye, NY strip, filet mignon, a huge Duroc pork chop, and a criminally tender slow-roasted prime rib. Other menu standouts include the crispy pork rinds with a kimchi-esque slaw, Brussels sprouts with apple balsamic and Fresno chilies, and fries fried in tallow with a side of Bernaise. Its dark wood paneling, deep green tiles, crushed blue velvet seats in the bar area, and plaid carpet running the length of the dining room might evoke memories of Grandma’s living room. The menu features Italian and French-inspired comfort food, such as shrimp risotto and chicken liver mousse, as well as groan-worthy buttermilk rolls.
