This place has the best food, hands down! This isn't your normal cheap asian food buffet either. I loved the atmosphere. The staff was friendly and informative. I will definitely be coming back 😃.

Google
Excellent service! The food was good . The seafood I wish was cooked a little longer till white inside. The vegetableswere fresh. All in all I would recommendthis establishment. See you there!

Google
Highly disappointed with this meal. I ordered based on the great reviews, but it was definitely not worth the money. The crab rangoons had a bitter aftertaste, the chicken was soggy instead of crispy, and even the fried rice lacked flavor and came out bland. The chicken looked pale and unappetizing, nothing like what you’d expect from a proper fried dish. Overall, a letdown. I won’t be ordering again.

Google
Foods pretty good. I go there for the spicy shrimp

Google
Excellent place. They've gone through changes over the years, and I was sad to see the buffet go, but their food has remained consistent. Delicious options for meat lovers, vegetarians, vegans, those not eating sugar, and those who are gluten-free. Highly recommend.

Google
We enjoyed superb vegan options here during a company dinner. The most important thing to know is the vegan chicken; they can transform any chicken dish into a top notch vegan version. I recommend it and I am excited to visit again.

I've been a loyal customer at Nancy Chang's for 20 years, and the food and service have consistently been outstanding. However, my experience last Friday was a bit of a letdown. While the food and drinks came out fine, my server seemed to lack any enthusiasm or warmth, which made the meal feel less enjoyable. To make matters worse, I was seated next to a table with a variety of duck sauces, so I grabbed two for my meal. A few minutes later, I overheard my servers discussing something just a few feet away, and then they moved all the condiments to a table just three feet from me. It felt a bit like I was being treated as though I'd done something wrong. What stood out was how unprofessional it was to have a conversation so close to a customer, and then to move the condiments only a few feet away for no real reason. It was a minor annoyance, but when I dine out, I expect to feel respected and valued. I usually tip 20%, but because of this experience, I left just 10%. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be dining at Nancy Chang’s again anytime soon.

The food was alright not a wow factor, but good. The waitress was amazing, great hospitality and atmosphere. Im from NYC so sorry if I gave you 3 stars.

Yelp
Nancy Chang is...fine. The space is clean and the menu has a lot of options, including vegan dishes, which is a plus. Some of the apps like the crab Rangoon and Peking ravioli are solid. But overall, the food is hit or miss. Sauces can be overly sweet, and some dishes just feel flat or overcooked. It's the kind of place where one visit is decent, and the next is disappointing. Takeout can be soggy, and the buffet feels tired if you don't hit it early. Service ranges from friendly to forgetful. Nothing was bad enough to keep me from going back if I'm nearby--but it's not a spot I'd go out of my way for either.

Luisa C.

Yelp
We loved all food we ordered; Crab Rangoon, Peking ravioli, Wonton soup, lo me-in, Beef and vegetables, food presentation was great. Each element of the dish was precisely placed. Our server was Cassia very friendly & attentive. She answered all questions about the menu. We sat out in the Patio area, the weather was perfect.

Yelp
We went for a sis get together for my two nephews birthdays. It was during the day and we were already running late. The restaurant itself is located down the side of the building, towards the back. Something to keep in mind if you are handicapped. We walked in and were told everyone was seated in the back. We were having the Buffett. Apparently the staff was very, very shorthanded and pretty much chose to be rude to us whenever anyone asked a question. They would spin around and snap at us. Food was tasty enough, however there were slim pickings'. Believe it or not, I would like to go back and try it again. Maybe this time during dinner hours

Tin T.

Yelp
Rip off They have poor quality food for the buffets and they will not tell you that soup is a part of the buffet and you need to ask for it. Are we suppose to dream about that m Very disappointed

Tanya E.

Yelp
The vegan chicken options are absolutely amazing! The Sizzling (vegan) Chicken with the caramelized onions and tappanyaki sauce and a side of rice is my favorite meal. Highly recommend!

Yelp
GRINCHED AND SCREWWWGED!!! I accompanied my friend and his family to Nancy Chang for dinner on Christmas -today 12,25,24. When we were ordering 5 wanted the buffet and 2 had food restriction and wanted to order from the menu. We were told that "violated their policy "all of us had to order the buffet or we all had to order off the menu. They had pulled a table over to accommodate our group and my friend suggest That the two (his 88-year-old father with Alzheimer's, and his brother-in-law would Sit apart from the table retuning it to its location but still keeping them close enough To have dinner semi together. That request was denied saying again it was against policy. By now his father was becoming agitated. Anyone who knows Alzheimer's patients knows how challenging it can be to take them out publicity let alone when they become aware of turmoil. The manager could not have been more difficult to deal with and showed no regard In keeping us together on a day we chose to gather for dinner. She only complained about how rude his father was even though she was told he was not well. I was disgusted at the lack of common sense and curtesy. If we had walked in as a group of 5 and a second group of 2, she would have allowed us to sit down together with the tables in their original place. Her reasoning was she knew we were together and somehow that violated her policy! Her inability to see the senselessness of her actions and how it was upsetting all of us not just his father, required us to leave and go to another place in auburn who treated us with respect and consideration providing wonderful service. Nancy Chang's manager should be ashamed of herself but instead she commented on how she had to be there on Christmas! So, I guess she was so miserable herself she wanted to spread the misery. She has no business being in a service position if she doesn't know how to conduct herself. I would NEVER recommend or return there again. Mind you his family had frequented this place and did take out too. I don't see that happening anytime soon either. :(

Yelp
Went there in beginning of August around 7:00pm. Bar was full. Dining room around1/2 full or less. Service was very good and friendly. We got chicken wings (must order) Mooshi pork with extra pancakes, spicy dried green string beans and an order of steamed rice. Oh yeah, don't forget the 2 Mai Thais. Everything was delicious. Like mine spicy, so I asked for some hot chili oil and spicy mustard. They make their own (no packets!) The Mooshi was very crispy, smoky and delicious. I will be back - soon.

Gj K.

Yelp
Always our first pick for our Chinese food! Fresh and great tasting. Always on top of nut allergy prep. Will continue to use this great restaurant!

Roger B.

Yelp
We had Nancy Chang do a large carry out order for our Christmas dinners Three pu pu platters, orange chicken, shrimp dish, chicken fingers and sweet and sour chicken. We weren't allowed to order the more complex entrees like salmon or duck which was disappointing. Our meals were ready on time and were hot, so they just came out of the kitchen. Everyone was satisfied with their meal choice except me. I was the one that ordered the sweet and sour chicken with white rice. The chicken had a strong aftertaste like it was deep fried in a cooking oil that was either old, or the oil had been burned or something in the oil was burned. The sweet and sour sauce was about as Panda Express as it comes. It was not what I would expect from Nancy Chang. It was a heavy thick overly sweet red sauce with no tartness. It was like red corn syrup.... As I said, the rest of the orders were ok. I would not suggest using Nancy Chang again unless they offered their full menu for the holiday.

Stu B.

Yelp
Yes I recommend but the service has declined over the past 10 years that I have been going. For example when you order a meal it may not include all the ingredients listed on the menu which can effect the overall meals taste. This has happened several times recently. But the downside is when you complain to the restaurant for a fix or a new meal they refuse to make good or correct their mistakes. In one instance I spoke with Nancy the owner and she flatly refused to correct the situation.

Bledi M.

Yelp
Nancy Chang's has been solid for years. Even though it not Mr Chang who opens it (I believe under new management) it's still great food and great service.

Yelp
Finally a decent Chinese takeout place in the Worcester county. I'm a vegetarian and I had a tough time finding a Chinese place that separates egg items from meat and seafood items. Nancy does a really good job at this. I also love the vegan options. The portion sizes are plenty for two. Spring rolls were crisp. Overall, very good Chinese takeout spot!

Siena M.

Yelp
The woman could've cared less about the fact my entire order was wrong. Not could she confirm if the incorrect order was actually gluten free. Supposedly how the food can look, varies. Because that makes sense. But you tell me.... The fact that the customer service was shit and the care about gluten free or not was of zero concern is what upsets me most. Always ordered from here but yeah I'm good. Not worth the price nor lack of care.

Joey C.

Yelp
Paid 24 dollars (20.63 before delivery charge) for a single chicken dish delivered.. no rice.. not even enough for a dinner. Won't ever order from here again. 6' 195 pounds.

Jafar S.

Yelp
Comsider visiting a nearby American-style Chinese restaurant where you can enjoy similar or better meals for half the price. The hostess was less than welcoming, but the server made up for it with their kindness. The restaurant's interior is nicely decorated and features a bar area.

Yelp
I got a take out order today from Nancy Changs. The food was awful. The pupu platter had shrimp that was over battered and tasted way too sweet I couldn't eat them, the chicken fingers were old, the teriyaki beef was tough and tasteless. The crab Rangoons were somewhat undercooked but still tasted pretty good. The rest of the order, General Chows chicken, chicken fried rice and chicken lo mein were sub par. Their quality has gone way done and we won't be back unfortunately. They used to be good.
google avatar

Bill M.

Yelp
Used to be amazing. Prices have doubled and portions have shrank. They use trendy serviceware to fool the eye with forced perspective to hide the smaller amounts. I find that insulting. New owners. Boooo!

Michael P.

Yelp
upsets me to post this review... two weeks ago we ordered teriyaki chicken and beef (separate dishes) chicken Lo Mein...rice large and1/2pint duck sauce ..,approximately $80 dollars ... beef/chicken was so tough ...management definitely has a side business.... owners please want your help...they are not looking out for your family

Judy P.

Yelp
Excellent food. Lots of gluten free options. We enjoyed the Hunan Chicken and the Malaysian Rice Noodles. Friendly staff. I will definitely recommend this restaurant and plan to return when in the Worcester area.
google avatar

Sarah M.

Yelp
One star. Wish we could have tried the food. Made a reservation there last weekend, went in and were told there was a wait and our reservation was not honored. Why even have reservations to begin with if you aren't going to honor them? Hostess didn't seem to care like this happens all the time. Understandable if it was like 10 min or something but they quoted us over an hour. Worst customer service ever.
google avatar

Amaris A.

Yelp
Pretty good food. I love their general Taos chicken, if you healthy options, which is a plus!
google avatar

Ricky J.

Yelp
This review is based on takeout only. We've tried Chang's twice since we moved to the area, but we are not big fans. Nearly every item we ordered had an unusual taste, both times. I don't know if it's some type of ginger or curry they use in their cooking, but it seems whatever it is, it's in many of their dishes. I'm by no means saying the food is bad but it's just not our taste. It doesn't taste like traditional Chinese food to us, but maybe that's just us.
google avatar

Clayton M.

Yelp
I can tell you that the cooks (at least 2 of them) smoke cigarettes while preparing the food. I have a lung disease and can't be anywhere near cigarette smoke. When I voiced my concern, I was yelled at and dealt with rudely. Not only is this a serious health code violation subject to heavy fines if they get caught, it is grossly disrespectful to their patrons and to those who service the business.

donna m.

Yelp
This was the worst Chinese food I have ever had!! Lo Mein was greasy with no flavor ,, Pu Pu platter came with dry leathery teriyaki, rock hard inedible spare ribs, tasteless dry chicken.. DRY DRY DRY!! WAY TOO OVERCOOKED!! DID I MENTION DRY??!!! The won ton soup has a nice flavor and the wontons were decent but there were no vegetables at all in it and it also had a bunch of overcooked ribs floating around.. The crab rangoon were good, Thank god!! At least there was something I could actually digest... With these prices and this quality I honestly dont know how they stay in business.. Maybe the food eaten in is better but I definitely would not recommend getting take out.. Oh and the they give you those little mustard packets like at panda express instead of real mustard sauce!! Horrible!!
google avatar

Brenda M.

Yelp
The best spare ribs on the BONE...in the city. They are delicious. Also triple green with chicken. Sooo good. I eat there at least once a week . The wonton soup is loaded. It's a meal on its own. My husband loves it. If u havnt eaten there, u should....

Lisa F.

Yelp
I called at 3pm on New Year's Eve. I got a 7pm pick up time. $197.00 order. They were 45 behind and the food was terrible! No soy sauce given and we asked for extra duck sauce and didn't get that. Pork fried rice was sweet and gross. Lo mein and Wonton soup were both very salty. I was given this restaurant by a friend who swore it was the best ever. I live in Auburn, Yong Shin is right around the corner. I should have stuck to them. This food was very disappointing and barely edible. I will never spend my money here again.

Yelp
Went to Nancy Chang's for dinner on a week night. The food was really tasty, the crab ragoons were good! My favorite: the sizzling beef. The Nancy Spicy chicken was good as well. Overall, Nancy Chang's is a solid quality food American-Chinese place without it being too fancy. Parking is available which makes it really easy to stop by.

Al C.

Yelp
Impressive service as usual, however the place is not the same without the elaborate buffet

Joann A.

Yelp
Did takeout today. The crab Rangoon and the coconut shrimp were not even worth eating. Everything else was just ok. I don't think we will be back again.
google avatar

Jocelyne T.

Yelp
Food was pretty good. Our favorite dish was the sizzling beef. Our waiter wasn't the best, he kept forgetting our drinks and our check at the end but it could have just been an off day. I would say 7/10 overall experience

Ashley S.

Yelp
Not sure why I keep trying here. We have had no luck coming in to dine and we have even less luck ordering take out. Called and ordered $66. worth of food, that's 4 things! Sent my daughter to get it, brought it home and gave me the wrong thing. I Asked for gluten free fried rice and I got gluten free fried noodles. Didn't seem to care at all when I called to make them aware, but I guess that's what you get from a restaurant being run by teenagers.

Esau B.

Yelp
I would not recommend Nancy Changs. I worked there and was not impressed by the state of the kitchen... there are better places to eat nearby I recommend second thoughts. Sometimes food can be made too fast if that makes sense. Also workers aren't fully respected and there are behavior issues that go unchecked while other people are reprimanded. First Yelp review had to be done Im sorry
google avatar

Weiming L.

Yelp
Delicious Food and great service. Great decor everywhere. There's a bar inside the restaurant. Outdoor and indoor seating. Outdoor seating is tastefully decorated. Our waitress was friendly. We ordered beef lo mein, sizzling chicken, chicken and beef pad thai and beef fried rice. We enjoyed our time here.
google avatar

Tom L.

Yelp
The bad: very limited hours. The good: The food is amazing. Everything I have gotten has been top notch, and the chicken curry is the best I have had ANYWHERE.
google avatar

Corey C.

Yelp
Delicious food. This is my 3rd time eating here. Went for a work outing in December and had a pu pu platter, lo mein and drinks. All were good. Then we got take out a few weeks ago. All was good. Today we went for their soup dumplings. However, they were out of them. So we tried the sampler from the dim sum menu except got 2 of something else since they were out of the soup dumplings. The Crispy Beef Szechuan was delicious. And I didn't expect much with the chicken pad Thai since it's not from a Thai place but it was very good. A little spicy but delicious. I would definitely order both again. The dim sum sampler was interesting. My bf liked the one item that had shrimp in it. The rest we didn't care for. Hopefully next time we go they will have their soup dumplings.
google avatar

Yelp
Food was super mid. Not enough flavor. Service was fine, nothing special. Ambiance was alright at most.
google avatar

Abiola O.

Yelp
Large menu with something to offer everyone in your party. You'll find the typical Chinese-American and a few Thai dishes on the menu and they have an extensive cocktail and alcohol menu. If you visit here, definitely try any one of their cocktails. I heard their Mai Tai is the best so I started with that and I agree! STRONG and flavorful. Already excited to return to try another. I ordered the Singapore Rice Noodles, which is a personal favorite of mine. Although I received a large portion (enough for 2 with leftovers), the dish was dry and lacked spice. However, my dining partner was pleased with her meal, so I might not have chosen their best from the menu. I'd return to try something else, but it's not currently at the top of my list.
google avatar

Mike R.

Yelp
Ordered tonight for the first time in a long time. Haven't lost a step, might even be better than the last time (been years). Always was the best around and is still is. Very organized with what's going on and couldn't have been more professional and super aware of everything and everybody.
google avatar

Tasia C.

Yelp
I'm giving them two stars because the food was hot and the folks at the front door were nice. People rave about this place so I thought I would give it a try. I ordered the pineapple fried rice, scallion pancakes and shrimp fried rice. I'll start by saying I liked the scallion pancakes, a lot, they weren't your typical, thin, soggy, pancakes - I'll also say, my wife didn't like them for that reason. Usually, curry/fried rice has a lot of flavor but this did not; the pineapple didn't even taste like pineapple. All of it, outside of the heavy handed curry, tasted the same. I poured most of the sweet and sour sauce (duck sauce) on my food just to bring some flavor. I'm gonna assume the cook was having an off night or people in the area just don't know good food. I'd definitely think twice before going back because it wasn't cheap.
google avatar

Michael N.

Yelp
$20 meal in a $50 package. I hate bad reviews as I always try to find the lining but here it goes... Visited my daughter at college for a quick meal while I was in town. I wanted a New England style combination plate like I can't get back in Kentucky. I should have read the reviews but my daughter chose it. Two combination plates and two sodas = $51 with tip! Food was fair. Service was fair. Price was so foolishly high I would never recommend it. Obviously the owner has an inflated view of their abilities. This would have been an average 3 star review at a take out place. Paying premiums prices for basic food drove it down a notch in my book.
google avatar

Gillian W.

Yelp
This is not your ordinary Chinese restaurant....everyone that works there...they are NOT CHINESE, which was quite the shocker. Food was pretty decent. I do have to critique about their rice dishes like the chicken fried rice and just a simple bowl of white rice: WAY TOO DRY. Needs more soy sauce/water. Outlook of the restaurant could be better...I would rather not be sitting on a broken cushion seat next time, please.
google avatar

Jeanna S.

Yelp
I enjoy this restaurant as a slightly healthier option for some tasty Asian cuisine. However, last night I ordered a vegetarian dish (Cashew vegetables) and was incredibly disappointed when I got home. The sauce was good, but the only vegetables in the dish were onions, celery, and baby corn. Not only was this very beige (not a good look for a vegetarian dish), but I felt like they were saving money by using mostly aromatics. I would expect at least carrots, snow peas, or maybe a pepper or broccoli. I won't be going back for awhile. :(

Pam M.

Yelp
We got take out on Christmas Eve and for the prices of their appetizer/entrees we should be more impressed. The chicken wings had very little flavor, and were dry. The chicken teriyaki was dry dry dry-inedible. The boneless spareribs were so hard we couldn't even stab them with a fork. We got 2 large platters (for 3) and most of what was in these were the rock hard spareribs. The rice was barely warm. The lo-mein was good. Definitely not going back.

Lynne M.

Yelp
We finally tried nancy Changs after many times of reading the reviews and debating if it was worth it. Some reviews were great and some not so great but we decided to try it for ourselves. I was in Rehab down the street so we had to do takeout. I had the wonton soup which I expected it to be mushy but it wasn't. The wontons were numerous and great. We also had chicken fingers, pork fried rice, and General Tse's chicken. The pork fried rice was very fresh and good and the other food was great as well. We ordered it a few times while I was in the hospital and every time it was good. I'm looking forward to when I'm well enough to be able to go in the restaurant and eat.

Yelp
Some of the best Chinese food I've had in a long time! My cousin recommended this spot for healthy and fresh Chinese food and it was just that! I decided to get my order to go as I had worked all day! As I approached the counter I was greeted by an employee who recommended their beef and broccili over the chicken with broccoli, so I decided to get that. I asked if it came with rice and she said "no" and then she guided me to the back of the menu which had the same meal options, but with rice and a side included. Also, it was less expensive that their other meal options. I decided on the vegetable fried rice with the broccoli beef and crab rangoons. My total was only $12 and it came out in about 5 minutes! Once I got my food home it was still hot and tasted delicious. The broccoli and beef was in a light brown sauce that was not super salty and coated everything very well. Also, the vegetable fried rice had thinly sliced onions, carrots, and peas. The crab rangoons were lightly fried and tasty. Everything was not too greasy or heavy. The amount of food was just right as well! I felt like I got a great deal for the price I paid and the quality of food!! From what I saw of the restaurant it is set up really nicely with a huge bar area and TVs on the wall. I definitely want to come back to actually sit in and eat. Also, I saw that they have drink specials!! I sooo will be back!

Dustin C.

Yelp
General Tso's chicken tastes like shit, and they don't stand behind their product. When I asked for a refund, they refused. What a waste of time! Don't bother. PS Did not come w rice. I thought that was pretty standard? Whatever.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing beef and broccoli but pooped bad afterwards. To be expected with Chinese food though.
google avatar

Phyllis L.

Yelp
Ordered vegetable rice noodles for delivery. It came on time and it was still warm too. Taste wise it is on point and I do love the portion. Well worth the money. I am looking forward to trying their other dishes.

Yelp
I've been told by multiple people in Worcester that Nancy Chang is their favorite Chinese restaurant in the area and that the Mai Tais are especially good. Well, the Mai Tais are certainly strong, but that's the best thing about this place. The preparation of the food is a bit better and the food might be fresher than a typical Chinese takeout. But somehow, the food is even less flavorful and its significantly more expensive. You can't even fix it with chili oil, since their "chili oil" is so weak that its also basically flavorless. Strange Flavor chicken is indistinguishable from chicken stir fried with soy sauce. You also have to pay extra for rice. If you happen to have chili oil at home (I highly recommend this practice), you can pretty easily fix the leftovers so at least there's that. The kitchen could probably put out much better food, but it seems that Nancy Chang's does just fine catering to the needs of a less adventurous clientele. Which I guess is fine, but if you've had Chinese food in Boston or New York, you probably won't like this.
