Nando's PERi-PERi

This was our first time visiting a Nando's location and the staff were very friendly and made sure we understood the workings of their menu. I got the Peri Chicken Rainbow Bowl with Chicken Breast (Medium Spice) and it was phenomenal. All the flavors and spices came together so nicely in a scrumptious bowl. Their restaurant has a fantastic vibe to it and is very clean. I suggest taking a few of the sauces in a cup to try with your meal. It was very helpful for me to know the spice level before I added it to my bowl. My favorite are the Lemon & Herb and Peri Medium with Garlic. This location is across from the Rosslyn metro station so it is very convenient for those walking or taking metro. There is limited to no street parking available.

Stopped here for take out lunch with few friends. Host/greater was welcoming and helpful. Cashier seemed a little rude. Chicken bowl and fries were good! Food was quick and tasty. I would return!

A TOTAL RIP-OFF: Bought 2 orders of chicken sandwich with sides. one dine-in and one to-go $35+. I wish I'd only ordered the dine-in, and I'd never ordered the other, but made the mistake of ordering both at the same time. The chicken sandwiches were All bun. little triangle patties of chicken were inside. One little triangle per half. thin and small. I expected chicken to be sticking out the edges, but nowhere near. And the buns weren't big EITHER! When I showed the two guys running the place, they said they "hate that they have to serve it like that and that "they" (whoever "they" are) used to let them serve larger sizes, but not anymore. eating area bar/table near window was not wiped down at any of the seats also. A TOTAL RIP-OFF

I love nando's and wish they are available in NorCal where I'm from. I knew about Nando's when I first tried it in Australia. I looked it up and I believe the chain started in South Africa. I love the way chicken is grilled and how they kept the dark meat, fat, and skin which is exactly how foodies want their chickens. I also love the sauce and even for the extra hot it's really not that spicy but very flavorful. However I do recommend first timers to try medium or hot not extra hot. The chicken is extremely tender just like how El Pollo Loco grills the chicken except it's even more grilled so some parts are charred which is just perfect. Africans know their chickens and I concur wholeheartedly. In Australia the restaurant is mostly fast food style but here it's slightly a cross between fast food and sit down. The decors are simple with some African influence but very welcoming. Personally I'd prefer this is more fast food like because sit-down always seems to give too serious a vibe for a quick meal but it's just a personal preference so doesn't matter. My favorite is the 2 legs which include the thighs and also the wings. If they open up in NorCal I'll eat it every week as this is literally the second meal in two different nando's I've had within 3 days. Oh this is right next to McDonald's so it's perfect for those with kids to order McDonald's for kids and order Nando's for themselves.

Good food, friendly service, and fun atmosphere. I go here frequently and it is consistently a good experience. The chicken is juicy yet charred. On some occasions, parts of the chicken breast on the whole chicken platter has been dry, but that hasn’t stopped me from coming back. The staff here does a good job. I appreciate having this place in the neighborhood.

The chicken was outstanding. The sides were good but not great. The atmosphere in this location is warm. The music is fun & upbeat. My favorite thing about this location is the staff, they are not only professional and courteous but, warm and welcoming. I stopped by a different location yesterday but didn't stay to eat. I'm so glad that I came here.

Just ordered a normal rainbow salad online, which they managed to completely mess up. The salad was super freaking spicy and was also missing avocado. For what they charge the order should be correct. Not coming back to this location.

The chicken sandwich was really delicious. It was my first time to try chicken sandwich with pineapple and it was really nice surprise.

It's been years since I've had Nandos and it turns out that it's still just as good as before. This location is metro accessible with street and garage parking nearby. There is some seating inside and the inside is clean. I ended up ordering the 1/4 chicken leg (mango and lime) combo with a side of coleslaw for dine in. Note that there is a charge for dining in. It was surprising, but nice to see that you are using real utensils and cups instead of plastic ones. The food came out quickly and was delicious. The chicken was moist and flavorful. The coleslaw was light and good. This is a solid choice if you are in the area.

Back again and brought my family so we shared some chicken and sides. The chicken here is still 10/10! And bone in is definitely the way to go - the skewers were good but the chicken thighs were AMAZING. My family loved the sweet potatoes too but we all thought the mac and cheese was on the saltier/watery side.

Standard Nando's. I ordered a chicken breast sandwich but after placing my order was informed that they were out, and was offered a switch to the chicken thigh sandwich. I enjoyed my sandwich and fries. Nothing to write home about but the lunch deals at least let you have your money's worth. I feel that the regular prices are a bit too high for the amount of food you get. The layout of the restaurant is a bit weird - the FOH staff sort of stand with their backs to you because the kitchen counter is directly opposite the door and there is no table for them to use. Can be awkward getting so close to them when getting drinks or sauce.

Nandos has yummy sauces that go with just about anything. The menu has choices for meat eaters and vegetarians. Great care goes into preparing the chicken. The veggie sandwich was good. It tasted home made instead of a Boca Burger. The wraps are convenient. The bowls are huge. The restaurant is busier during peak hours and there weren't many employees. There were a few hiccups (miscommunication about condiments, but corrected) but the booths are comfy. We enjoyed an unrushed meal. It is challenging for one person to buss everything by herself. Friendly & quick service, great ambience, and YUM. Woohoo!: I used to go to Nando's in DC almost once a month at least. but then they cut the chocolate spoon cake from the menu. Then they cut the bottomless self-soft serve sorbet machine. But when they cut the chicken livers, that was the last straw. If I went at all it was because my choices were very limited. But today, I discovered that they brought back the chicken livers!!!!!!!!!! I now again have a big reason to return more than once a year or 3. If they brought back the sorbet machine you'd see me back super regularly. also, the manager told me they are 86ing the Borges Lelo Portugal (red) wine. NOOOOOO! this is one of my favorite wines of all time.Period. And it is not easy to find in wine stores. Please keep!

Naaaaandooos!! I always love going to nandos whenever I am in the DMV area. I like to think that even though nandos is considered "fast"/convenience food, it is still quite healthy and everything tasted good compared to many other fast food restaurants. This nandos location has some outdoor seating which is nice and the interior is quite big. Prompt service on a weekend day as well.

This is the first time I've ever written a review. What a waste of money. I thought a place specializing in chicken would make some good chicken, but I was mistaken. My "chicken" bowl came with a tiny, dry, and bland piece of chicken breast. As you can see in the picture, it is tiny compared to my hand (I'm not a big guy at 5 foot 5). They gave a decent portion of rice and greens, but my rice will filled with hard and undercooked pieces. I will not be back again. Sad first and only experience with nandos.

Very friendly and attentive service! Everyone is super nice and helpful :) The place is clean and music is good as well! The food tastes great as well, awesome place.

If you're into chicken of all kinds, head to Nando's. Located just off the Rosslyn Metro, it's a spacious location that serves quick food. Customer service is usually friendly and efficient. My go-to order is the garlic chicken breast sandwich with fries and their flavored mayo. Many sauces are available for free off to the side.

Nando's was so good. I'm on a mission to eat every foreign cuisine and I wanted to try Nando's since it's Mozambique and Portuguese Cuisine. I ordered the Chicken "Burger" with the PERiance sauce and it was my top 3 favorite foreign cuisine. The service was outstanding, the staff was extremely nice. Lastly, the vibe and feel here was great!

What a disappointment for a chicken specialty restaurant. The chicken thigh was so dry I could hardly cut it. UNDERWHELMING salad which was also missing croutons. How do you mess up a salad and your own chicken?? Been before and wasn't like this so hoping this is a one off but for $16 we should expect better!

I've slept on reviewing this nandos but have to give it it's due - consistently solid food, helpful staff, and good vibes. Food always comes out quick and the condiments station is well maintained and clean. Love getting the grilled halloumi as an option on most dishes. Prices have gone up a bit in the last year or two but I guess that's the new norm.

Ordered out for lunch at the office. Got the Rainbow Bowl and the Mac bowl, both were delicious. Great ingredients and quality food. Will eat here again!

Went 20 minutes before closing on a Saturday night. I was planning on take-out, but the door was locked. We waved someone down and they said they closed at 7. We pointed out it was 6:40 and we just wanted take-out. She reluctantly let us in, but a large man from the back came out and told us we had to leave because they were closed. We had the same conversation with him and he said "you can't do that" and walked back into the kitchen. This was such an unprofessional encounter on all levels and with both employees.

the first time i tried Nando's i was mind blown. It's like el pollo loco on crack. it's so zesty with the perfect amount of heat. sadly the second and third time i went the chicken breast was over cooked and that really took away from the amazing sauce/seasoning. i guess you have to get lucky who cooks it. the sides are 5/5 though. probably the best mashed potatoes i've ever had. garlicky, buttery, chunky goodness

Nice food, wonderful service. It was near the finish line of the Marine Corps Marathon, and they were slammed, yet the man who seemed in charge greeted us, made us feel welcome, warned us that they had run out of some menu items -- which was totally understandable -- the food was out surprisingly fast, was plenty, and tasted great.

Decided to try the Nando's in Rosslyn. The service to the food was pretty bad. I did get an apology for the 30 min wait. They need a good manager. Two of the employees seemed off. I am guessing they were special needs employees.

I fell in love with the spicy deliciousness of Nando's on our recent trip to London. Imagine my delight when I found out that there was a location across from Rosslyn station mere blocks from my appointment. If you go, know that the Yelp address is misleading - it's on the back of the building directly across from Nestle/the station. It's not actually facing Lynn Street. I opted for a 1/4 chicken (white meat) with Portuguese rice and macho peas. Honestly - it was great. My chicken was juicy and spicy and even better when doused with even more Nando's hot sauce. The rice had a nice kick as well. Staff is nice but spends as much time playing/chatting as working. That said, it was clean inside and my food arrived quickly. I love you, Nando's

Me and my family went here after the open embassy row. The service was really topnotch. We were checked on so many times to make sure we had a great experience for our Saturday dinner. I ordered the half chicken with mango and lime sauce along with corn on the cob and fries for sides. I got the sauce herb and lime and also the Peri with herb which I really love. My wife ordered the chicken sandwich with fries and was also delicious. She also loved it. Our service was very quick. The place is calm and clean. It is easy to access the restaurant from Rosslyn Metro. You can easily get take out too. Parking is available on the streets. We would love to come back ans highly recommend this place. Really great service!!

Went there during lunch time . Super friendly staff . Explained the menu very well . We ordered 1/4 keg mild chicken and mashed potato and four pieces of boneless chicken with mango lime dressing and Portuguese rice . The chicken was super moist . Not humongous coerced chicken leg quarters . Really good taste of chicken . Perfectly grilled . Loved both the sauces mild and mango lime . Waiter came and asked if everything was ok . Going to visit this place again .

I dined in around lunchtime on a Tuesday. There's no parking lot so I parked at a nearby garage. Luckily not too many other diners, so I was able to eat comfortably and safely in a small booth. I find the food here is best eaten on the spot and not taken to go. I got the chicken breast sandwich and one side. Their pickled onions are dee-lish-us. I got the mashed potatoes for my side. Great, tasty meal but crammed with calories! Everything was hot and tasted like it was freshly made. The cashier/server kept me updated on my food and was really kind and courteous.

Adrian the manager and Dillon the server were absolutely amazing! The ambiance was great and the food was even greater. Can't wait to come back. The picture is of the aftermath sorry we didn't get the pic before but it was delicious.

This new Nando's chain is pleasant and sunny with big floor to ceiling windows and great service. However, we were seated at the table near the kitchen door which was really bothersome. They shouldn't even put a table there. The other tables (specifically booths) are much more pleasant. Overall the whole place was narrow and much smaller than we expected. Chicken was good, what you'd expect at a Nando. The fresh lemonade was very nice and refreshing. Came back for take out. It was 6 pm on a Friday night. The wait was longer than I expected but overall service was good. Comfy spots to sit while waiting for your order. The carry out bag comes with a sense of humor: "Let's Take It Outside!"

Was feeling greedy & didn't feel like cooking so went all out at Nando's since I haven't had it in awhile. I wasn't disappointed, as I never am. I enjoyed the chicken sandwich and the cole slaw was decent. I love the garlic sticks and always get them, no matter what I'm eating there. I didn't ask for sauce but they threw 3 in the bag, lemon pepper, hot and a dipping sauce for the bread. I can't wait for things to get back to normal so I can go in person.

$32 for this? Half a bowl of cauliflower and like 10 nuggets of chicken. You can do better Nando's!

The Marinated Tomato, Halloumi & Chicken Salad was good. The halloumi cheese was my favorite part of the salad. I ordered the chicken with medium spice but it really didn't have any flavor at all. My friend ordered the chicken sandwich with mashed potatoes and some fries for the table. It was all decent and very fast.

They do the best that they can with the busy crowd, but I don't think they've quite figured it out yet. It's so hectic and unclear where to go for pick up orders (not easily accessible because it's behind the counTer), there's always a huge line for those who order at the counter and waiting for their to go orders to come out, and staff yelling and moving back and forth. There's also no trash can visiblE which I found odd- even if servers clean up after your tables you should still have a trash can in sight.. never had a case like this before. Otherwise, the food itself is good, like any other Nando's spot. A bit pricey for though so I don't go as often. I'd give this spot a 3.5/5

Delicious, satisfying food in a convenient location for dine-in or take-out. I've ordered food to go during the lunch hour and evening, and both times I've gotten my food within 10 minutes, although during lunch, there's a slightly larger crowd. I usually get the spicy chicken leg with a few sides. I definitely prefer the dark meat and it's super juicy and tender after it's been grilled. Spicy is the perfect amount of heat as it's really flavorful, but the spice isn't overbearing at all. They also have plenty of Peri Peri sauce in all heat levels so you can adjust to your liking. I've tried the garlic bread and corn--both of which were pretty good--and macho peas, which I wasn't a huge fan of. I thought the combination of mint and peas was a bit strange for my palate, but if that's something you would like, then there wasn't anything else wrong with them. The staff there is always friendly, and it's a pretty straightforward of ordering at the counter then waiting for your food on the side, if you're ordering to go. They have little plastic cups to hold the sauce to take out as well. I like to mix a few of the different ones together! Overall, Nando's is a solid place for food. The food's tasty and it's very conveniently located right next to the metro.

This place just all around disappointing. I have been here twice to pick up for lunch during work and once after work for a sit-down meal with group of 5. I get it, it's crowded and super busy during lunch hours, but why bother if the quality of food decreases drastically? When they first opened, I ordered Peri Peri chicken bowl (one of the Nando's favorites). When I opened it, it was a box of sadness of rice and chicken and a few pieces of corn and arugula, no peppers whatsoever. The second time I order to go, it was chicken Caesar salad. I remember getting it at Navy Yard and it was amazing. But this time, the chicken was definitely not their regular grilled chicken. I'm just really annoyed at myself for kept on giving them a chance. Why not just have a lunch menu with cheaper prices if the portion is smaller and quality is lower? I will not be a fool once more and move on with better lunch options :/ I gave 2 stars because the staff are friendly and trying to be as helpful as possibly even with the chaos.

I frequent this Nando's basically every two weeks during my lunch breaks. The food has been fantastic every single time. I usually get the Nando's peri peri chicken sandwich with a side of fries, but lately I've been switching It up to mashed potatoes and they are amazing. This place gets super crowded around the 12 o clock hour, so I would avoid going right at that time unless you want to wait long for your food.

I really love Nando's and am so satisfied by my meals every time. I typically order the quarter chicken breast (hot), along with two sides. Today I ordered the seasonal veggies and mashed potatoes, which were both delicious. Other favorites of mine are the garlic bread, which is to die for, and the rice. The chicken is always perfectly cooked and the sides are flavorful and have a range of options. I like that there are healthy options to choose from as well! The sauces are always a yummy addition - I typically use the garlic and some more hot sauce! This particular Nando's had really good service and a cozy ambiance. I was impressed at how relaxing and enjoyable it was during a busy lunch hour.

Took me forever to find this stupid location. The address is not even correct - it is not on N Lynn St. I did not appreciate having to wander around for 20 mins outside when it's 30 degrees. And when I finally got the order and went home, I discover it is missing one of my two sides. I paid extra for that second side, you thieves. This place is a stupid joke.

Excellent chicken, wide range of tasty side dishes. Nando's is a welcome addition to Rosslyn. Although it's a chain, this is the first Nando's I've been to, and I have to say I quite like it. My go-to order here is the flame-grilled 1/4 chicken with sides, which has been consistently good. The meat is well seasoned, and the dark meat in particular is moist and juicy. The skin isn't quite as crispy as it can be at the best places (Peruvian chicken joints like Don Pollo, for example), but it's not bad. And the signature dipping sauces are don't-miss, one of the hallmarks of the place that set it apart. They offer a range of hot sauces with varying levels of heat and complex flavor, as well as other choices (lemon-herb, garlic, etc.) if heat isn't your thing. Sides are also a highlight here. I enjoy and would recommend the mashed potatoes (pleasingly garlicky), the cucumber salad (nicely dressed, with a tangy poppy seed vinaigrette), the roasted vegetables, the cole slaw (creamy and surprisingly flavorful, from the welcome addition of some herbs), and the mashed peas (fresh, unique, and maybe my favorite, flavored with mint and chiles). The brand-new dining area is clean, comfortable, modern, and vibrantly colored. Service is generally friendly, although I would agree with some of the other reviewers who noted a bit of awkwardness in the initial hostess' greeting. That one nit-pick aside, this is tasty, healthy food at a reasonable price, definitely worth a visit.

YUM. This location recently opened and it is my new go-to spot in Rosslyn. The food is fresh and always very flavorful. For it being "fast-food", they do a great job making you feel welcome and attending to you after you have received your order. While the menu can get pricey at times, it outweighs how good the food actually is. This isn't just another sandwich shop. You can order a chicken breast with decently healthy sides for $13 and be out the door in 15 minutes total. I'm glad they opened one around the Rossalyn area. Certainly needed.

Great location in Rosslyn with beautiful interior and tall windows for people watching. The sauces are delicious and it's fun to try all the different flavors! People were friendly, helpful, and patiently answered questions. The chicken was so great! I'd skip the fries as they were normal but get another side to try. The salad was fresh. Definitely check it out if you want some tasty chicken!

I really enjoyed the food. Mashed potatoes and corn were amazing. Chicken was awesome too but not are pieces are equal. Brownies are also very good. I would highly recommend.

Really really good food, reminded me of the Nando's back in South Africa. The restaurant played South African music which I really enjoyed. I had the chicken livers which were so soft and soo good! The quarter chicken grilled to perfection not dry but yet so flavorful.

I'm honestly such a fan of the whole Nando's franchise. One of my favorites, and this location is just so convenient. It's right near the subway, hotels, and is a popular location for many office workers during lunch. That being said it does get busy during lunch, but the wait time is not that bad unless you're in a large group. I love the sauces here, especially the spicy ones! I definitely recommend using those and getting a chicken wing platter - my favorite. There's also a roulette option which is so fun when you're in a group and there's people who can't eat spicy foods. The staff here are efficient and so nice. I got a free drink cup last time I was here. There's also an app available, so I recommend downloading and collecting points, because I imagine you'll end up going there again :)

When I first heard about Nando's was on instagram through some of my international followers. Before the actual restaurant came here they sold the nando peri peri sauces my favorite was the garlic and the spicy one. When the finally came here I was extremely excited but i never had time to visit it because I was rarely in the ballston area. Now since they have another one in Rosslyn and I visit my mom at her work more than my own. I was bound to eat there for lunch. I was impressed, the restaurant was beautiful and the atmosphere was casual, fast pace and fun. Sadly I only had time to order for to-go. But from what I can assume for a dine-in experience is that you order up front or with the hostess and you're given a stand. They bring out your food to wherever you're seating. In addition they have a lot of extra sauces for you to use. I ordered the 1/4 chicken breast with a medium spice level with 2 sides the fire roasted corn and rice. It was pretty dang good. But since I'm pretty spice-tolerant it was a mild spice level to me. Aside from that the chicken was seasoned to perfection, it wasn't dry at all and the sides were good too! I love chicken in all its glory and in all kinds of preparation like fried, grilled, baked, braised, even poached (but mostly in olive oil). Nandos takes fast casual dining chicken to a new level and I'm so grateful to they came to the US.

SO YUM!!!!! first time having Nando's and def was impressed by their chicken! Got extra spicy sauce and turns out it was just the spicy I want! And their egg tart was just amazing! Small in size though. Def would go again!! Hope they can open branches in NY :D

Came here with a coworker for lunch. I've been to Nando's before, but this was my first time at this location. I had the quarter chicken breast with a side of Peri chips (fries). The burner/fryer was messed up, so the manager came by and said the fries would take longer and offered us a choice of another side. We decided to take he chicken first and wait for the fries. Food was okay, and fries were good. I'm giving a 4 Star because of the issue with the delayed fries.

Really excellent comfort food, ESPECIALLY their chicken which of course they are known for! I usually just to the regular, no additional spice. It is plenty flavorful! I am also a huge fan of their sides including mashed potatoes, garlic bread, cole slaw. They have a really nice interior, super nice staff, and the location is conveniently located in downtown Rosslyn with Metro Access. When I'm craving a good amount of food, Nando's is a really excellent choice.

Just got to another nandos ... the kids that's running the store is alittle over bearing. Change def needed in this location. Literally had to ask for a refund that I doubt they added back to my card. Why hire someone that don't want to be at work

Great consistent food as all the other locations of Nando's. They dont have the kabobs which was a major buzzkill for me but their friendly staff kept me smiling and were exceptionally helpful! It's also very clean location. I'll be back soon and I hope they will have the kabobs!

Pretty disappointed with the food. I ordered a half chicken with fries. Fries were soft and didn't have much taste, the chicken was very burnt and dry in most places. I ordered it to go and unfortunately didn't check for sauce before arriving home...unlike other rotisserie chicken spots, this place doesn't give you dipping sauces with the chicken. So I had to order some bbq sauce from a grocery store just so I could keep eating this. Definitely much better chicken places out there.

Omg! One of the best chicken, ever! We are visiting from CA, so glad that we found this place by accident. Super super friendly staff, she was very helpful to guide us with the menu.

Love the food. I want to make it clear that Nando's good tastes really good. My review is for this particular restaurant's service. I've ordered here 5+ times, and I've had an issue every single time. I keep ordering here because it's so close to my apartment and the issues are usually minor, but I've had enough so I'm posting a bad review to hopefully get some attention to address these issues. Today they did not receive my online order even though the app said it went through Previous issues listed below. 1. Rude service. Fairly frequent 2. Missing salad dressing. Almost every time 3. Missing half chicken order. Once. Though they did make up for it with an extra half chicken, but it took me a half hour to correct the issue. 4. Missing mashed potatoes. Once 5. Missing garlic bread. Once Please correct these issues before I give up for good at this restaurant
