"For a quick, casual breakfast or lunch on Las Olas, go to this small French bakery. We like the jambon beurre that comes on a crunchy baguette, but there are plenty of egg dishes and various viennoiserie (including some pretty great croissants). If it’s nice outside, skip the unremarkable dining room and walk your sandwich or pain au chocolat two blocks east to eat on the sand of Fort Lauderdale beach while you try to ignore the mayhem happening across the street at Elbo Room." - ryan pfeffer

Really enjoyed this place! It’s got a cozy, relaxed vibe that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled into a little bistro in Paris. The decor is charming without trying too hard, and the music and atmosphere were just right for a chill breakfast. The food was delicious—breakfast done really well. I had the ham and Swiss croissant. My boyfriend got the Tinton and was content with the portion . Service was friendly, though things moved a little slow once it got busy. Nothing major, but something to keep in mind if you’re in a rush. Overall, a solid spot for a relaxed night out with great French food. I would come back—especially for the nanouccino and the fresh squeezed orange juice. Worth it.

Google
We ordered French toast, bacon, eggs, and potatoes. The potatoes and bacon were burnt & French toast could have been cooked a little longer. I believe this place is more for (maybe) coffee & and muffin, not actual breakfast food. But that is my opinion.

Google
Five stars all around. The vibe was on it. The staff was super sweet. I'm talking about opening doors for me, chatting, and smiling. You could tell they loved what they were doing. The Avocado toast was so good we ordered another. The coffee was delicious.

Google
Super cute bakery! We went here for breakfast during our vacation as it was a short walk from our hotel. My personal favorites were the Nanouccino and French toast (see photos). The croissants were also delicious! Do not recommend the avocado toast, though. It was basically a salad on top of mushy brown avocado and baguette.

Google
Wish I lived closer!!! Was SOOOOO good and friendly people. We ordered the Nutella strawberry crepe, swiss and ham croissant and some lattes and all were excellent.

Google
Hidden French gem in Fort Lauderdale, a little piece of Paris with French servers, good breakfast food and a nice service and atmosphere. Overall it's in the pricer side but good enough for a good experience. I would come back for some of the pastries and maybe the macarrons

Google
Logan is such a sweetheart! Such a kind warm spirit that lights up the place. He was very accommodating and conversational. You can tell that he sincerely wants to make every customer feel welcome. Really kind young man. I hope he always stays the same! Would definitely come back when I’m in Fort Lauderdale ☺️☕️

Google
I had the savory crepe with mushrooms, tomatoes and ham and my husband had the Le Tonton.. each with black coffee. It was everything we wanted. Light but flavorful. Depth of flavor but not overfilling. Wow. Owner and her husband are a charming French couple, who were pleasant and engaging. Was expensive for breakfast but worth it for a splurge experience.

Yelp
I was in town for 24 hours staying at a hotel near by for a funeral. Came in around 11:45 on a Sunday before my flight to grab a drink and some food. I received 5 star service from the second I walked in. The gentleman at the counter was SO nice, kind, and so caring. I wish I would've gotten his name, but he's dark haired, cool tattoos, an earring and the most warm smile. I have some stupid crazy allergies and when I tell you I've never had anyone as attentive and willing to not only accommodate, but make suggestions for how to still get a great meal- he was AMAZING. He was also so freaking kind, and in 2024 in the restaurant industry unfortunately that's harder to come by these days. The nanouccino was delicious, I literally scraped the glass with my spoon. The sandwich was perfect, the flavors were wonderful and I didn't leave a speck of those delicious potatoes on the plate. You can tell that the owners and staff here are running this place with love and care and I felt that from the second I walked in to the second I left. When I come back to FLL I will definitely make this a permanent stop on my list, 10/10 the highlight of my entire solo trip!

Yelp
Croissants are delicious. Fresh and flaky. Chocolate croissants are delicious too. Everything looks so good. We only had croissants this time. We will be back.

Stephan H.

Yelp
Nanou was very good. My fiancé got an omelet while I had the breakfast bun. Both were good. The most impressive part was the Nutella croissant - which was the best croissant I have ever had. I would go back for just that!

Joe D.

Yelp
Fantastic French bakery cafe near the beach with great food, service and ambience 5 star ambience: tucked in a small shopping plaza, there are outdoor tables in a small alleyway and in rear. Inside is quaint and well lighted. 5 star food: my almond croissant was fantastic, with coffee freshly brewed. We shared a very good merengue too. 5 star service: service was very friendly and helpful, and provided by very informed French speaking staffers

Phylicia H.

Yelp
Hidden gem with plenty of seating indoors, outdoors and on their private patio. Absolutely beautiful and spacious inside with the friendliest service. Arrived around 10am and came at a great time because while we were eating, the line was almost out the door. Ordered drip coffee, iced drip coffee, almond croissant and the breakfast sandwich. Everything was a 10/10! The croissant was flaky and had a generous filling of the almond paste. I could eat it every single day. The breakfast sandwich took about 15min and they will bring it to your table. It was a wait but the sandwich was very delicious and fresh. The bread was thin, crispy and outstanding. I highly recommend this spot and will definitely return!

Shenouda N.

Yelp
Cute place for a breakfast/ brunch! We ordered smoked salmon sandwich and the Classic! Food was great and fresh.

Yelp
Nanou, the French bakery nestled in Fort Lauderdale, is a true gem that brings the essence of France to Florida. Their croissants are a work of art - flakey, buttery perfection that transports you to a Parisian café with every bite. And their baguettes? They are the epitome of perfection - crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, just like they should be. What truly sets Nanou apart is their exceptional service. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure every customer feels welcome and leaves with a smile. Whether you're a regular or a first-time visitor, you're treated like family here. For a taste of France right in Fort Lauderdale, look no further than Nanou. It's a culinary experience that will leave you coming back for more!

Gina M.

Yelp
Food - breakfast bun sandwich was cooked right but came to the table warm and the side of potatoes were cold. Iced latte was more ice than coffee but still good as you can taste the espresso. Service- friendly Ambiance- beachside cafe Came back to this place again for breakfast and it was not consistent with my first experience. I would still recommend this place.

Ed M.

Yelp
This is the second time visiting this beautiful French breakfast place, and the experience was equally good. For really high-quality food and excellence crepes, this is the place to visit while in Fort Lauderdale! Excellent food, excellent service, reasonable, pricing, and conveniently located on Las Olas . A+

Robert B.

Yelp
This is a very French bakery and bistro. The food is very European. But very tasty. The coffee was similarly good. It's not a huge place inside but it's comfy and well decorated. There is also outdoor seating, and it's...fine, but could definitely use some cleaning and sprucing up. Service was friendly and prompt!

Michael F.

Yelp
One of our fave breakfast spots. Wonderful little French bistro. Omelettes are the best. And the Nutella croissant is delish. Just go.

Sarah N.

Yelp
After a thousand apparently very positive reviews, like this one I am writing here, there is nothing I am going to add here that has not already been said. With that then I am going to hone in one thing....their quiche. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!? Our experience enjoying their "quiche of the day" on this one visit is quite possible the best quiche eating experience we have ever had. I mean that. Mic drop...we walk away. When I think of quiche, I think of the Americanized version of quiche that is served in this country. Often dense and packed with too much stuff, with a crust that is equally dense and often lard like perfectly solid, this is what I am anticipating getting as I order. Often the eggs can barely be detected, because they are really the glue holding the too many ingredients inside of it together and get lost in the recipe. We get use to this, because we know no different. But with the "quiche of the day" being spinach and not containing red meat, I order it. This quiche I am consuming is exactly as a quiche should be. It is blowing my mind. Not only has it been served up by a French person who is part attitude by looking down at me a bit because I am a tourist and an American (as the French can be, lets be honest), but they are serving me what will be the most delicious piece of quiche I know that I have ever consumed (outside France, of course). The lightest most fluffy eggs are what are most dominate and then there is some spinach that is clearly taking a backseat to the foundational egg part. And the crust, I am smitten, irregularly shaped for it has been made from scratch and by hand. The crust is light, flakey and a touch buttery. I loved this moment with this slice of quiche so much, it gets its very own Yelp review. Thank you Nanou Las Olas....you have raised my quiche bar and I will now compare all future quiches to this delicious moment in time I had at your establishment. Thank you!

Yelp
Yum. Authentic French food right on las olas blvd. breakfast rocks from amazing baguette to all kinds of egg options. From The avocado toast to the omelette on a baguette all are delicious. It's like a taste of France right in fort Lauderdale .

Lise H.

Yelp
I stumbled upon this French bakery while exploring the Fort Lauderdale beach area. I got the Nutella croissant which was fantastic! Service was great and friendly - vibes were amazing. You can tell the locals also love this place by the number of dog owners who also came with their little ones. If only I lived here so I could come back to try their other pastries and offerings! 100% recommend.

Barbara R.

Yelp
Love Nanou. Quality products, delicious coffee, pastries are divine. Favourite of mine is their pain aux raisin. The fresh juices are incredible as well. Love the omelettes! A little taste of France!

Marleen P.

Yelp
I came to Las Olas for a morning walk on the breach and ran into this hidden gem. The nannouchino was perfect with the praline topping YUM! I got it hot and asked for less sweet which came out well. It was pretty quiet when I visited since it was the middle of the week however the person who took my order was nice. My breakfast sandwich was good, the aioli made the sandwich but I don't think I would get it with bacon again in the future however would come back again and try something else. Great place for a quick bite near the beach. The restaurant was family friendly as well with sufficient seating so I may return one weekend with my son.

Bella M.

Yelp
Avocado toast with salmon- 1/5 so lemony and peppered the avocado spread really was inedible, everyone in my party tried it and agreed. Salmon quality was really poor as well, unfortunate. Fishy smelling stringy salmon. The bread was the only good part and we had to scratch all the avocado off Crepe- 3/5 decent but not amazing, it's a thick crepe, the mushrooms inside were fried nicely but it was nothing special Omelette- 3/5 Slice of bread was better than the omelette. Overall value was poor and quality average to below average. Maybe their baked goods are better, in which case- perhaps they should stick to what they do best and skip the savory food

Robert S.

Yelp
This cute French bakery and cafe has great little treats. Croissants, pastries, sandwiches, etc. Today I just went to get a refresher drink and they have these delicious French sparking seltzers with all kinds of fun flavors. If you are in the area. Stop by, you will love all the great offerings!

Roberto B.

Yelp
Excellent service! delicious food and beautiful place, for family or friends, the best Italian restaurant

Christina M.

Yelp
The coffee was great. The location is perfect. I do like how authentic it feels. What I don't like, though was a lack of options without dairy and gluten. You are not even allowed to get eggs without dairy. I have allergies, including Gluten and lactose intolerance. I did not find many options if any at all for this issue. They did have some dairy free options for milk.

Bryan L.

Yelp
The food at Nanou is absolutely amazing. Everything is always perfect. The staff is always friendly. WONDERFUL people. If you don't mind walking in and waiting for a seat (they are very popular) you'll have a wonderful time. I mean that, 100%. Highly recommend. Carryout ordering is, unfortunately, where their system breaks down. Whether it's Accepting orders (and taking payment) on days when they happen to be closed, or orders getting missed/lost by the kitchen, it seems like they are really struggling with carry out logistics. We might start going back again someday (the food IS amazing,) but after two online order failures in one week, it's time to find a new "go to" for our mornings off.

Nancy T.

Yelp
Great little gem! I love my local coffee shops & stumbled this French delicacy. SUPER friendly service, welcoming & warm ambiance, baked goods look amazing, ...& great coffee. I got an oat milk latte, 2 eggs on sourdough & a Nutella croissant to go. The sour dough bread is amazing! Gorgeous marina views across the street. It's a family business. Nanou & her sons (Logan & unsure of other sons name) run this shop. Love supporting local businesses! Highly recommend!

David F.

Yelp
We found out the owner is from France and has owned and operated for over ten years! It's delicious. My wife got the egg white omelette and a Nutella croissant, and i got a Nutella and strawberry crepe and breakfast sandwich! All of which were amazing. The breakfast sandwich is a MUST. We'll be coming back tomorrow morning. We also got macaroons to go

Sharon H.

Yelp
Excellent food, service, coffees outdoor seating Parking is limited but great location close to beach!

Juan P.

Yelp
Great food and speedy service in a cute little cafe. Great French pastries. Freshly squeezed orange juice and great espresso. What more can you ask for?

Jordan C.

Yelp
Excellent! The raspberry tart was excellent, and the spicy tuna sandwich was really good as well. And the server at the counter was so kind and happy. A very good spot by the beach for a quick light brunch.

John B.

Yelp
Great little French bakery with all kinds of options. Definitely recommend. I had the pain au chocolate and an omelette and the hottest cup of coffee possible. Great walk to get there from the strip.

Sheena G.

Yelp
Friendly and attentive servers. Fresh baked pastries and quiche. The Nanouccinos are a must-try!! Such a charming and cozy place to dine for breakfast or lunch.

Joseph E.

Yelp
In town for the Riptide Festival and looking for a place to brunch close to our hotel we came across Nanou and glad we did. As you walk in there's a counter where you place your order then given an order number. You can then find an open table on your own and sit wherever you prefer. Luckily for us we got there early and there were plenty of tables but not 30 minutes later the play started getting packed. I decided to order the breakfast sandwich with scrambled eggs and added an iced chai tea latte with a raspberry cheesecake pastry. The chai tea was well made and was not sweetened, which is fine with me as most places over sweeten this drink. I added some stevia and it was all good. The pastry itself was nice and flaky on the outside and soft on the inside; the blend of raspberry and cheesecake filing just made it all that much better. Our server brought out my breakfast sandwich and after adding a dash of pepper and a dollop of ketchup it was go time. They use a brioche bun which is very soft, the eggs were nice and fluffy but not runny, the bacon was nice and crispy, and the arugula really complemented the protein. It was really tasty and filling. Overall, I have bookmarked this location so when I come back next year, I'll definitely stop in again. If you're visiting from out of town, be sure to stop and check out Nanou.

R D.

Yelp
I went here for coffee and got the Nanou iced coffee. Didn't realize it would be so good or I would've taken a picture prior to drink 75% of it. This has been the best iced coffee I've had in las olas this week. The service was great and the barista even double checked to make sure I liked it as I had some modifications to the ingredients. I'll definitely be coming here again tomorrow. Also their outdoor seating area in the back is cute for photos.

Sandra D.

Yelp
After a red-eye flight, I was hurting for a coffee and light breakfast, and this fit the bill. We both ordered the classic breakfast and let me tell you, these eggs just tasted better. I had a cup.of house coffee and it was perfect. The hubs ordered some fresh squeezed orange juice and let me tell you...it was DELICIOUS. It was so fresh. We weren't super hungry, so we didn't get a pastry but they did look really good. This place was perfect for a quick light breakfast.

Angela J.

Yelp
Exceptional customer service and fantastic food and beverages. The orange juice is even freshly squeezed to order.

Haley F.

Yelp
If you want to receive food you didn't order and get yelled at and undermined when you ask for the meal you paid for.......this is the place for you!! it's horrific

Malea M.

Yelp
In Ft. Lauderdale for the week and I've already been here 3 times! This place is adorable and the owners are so sweet! On top of that, the food is really good! The nutella croissant was my favorite!

Lee O.

Yelp
The place is small but very roomy it has an eating area outside & plenty of shade, from the trees. The food is ready to be eaten.

Cheryl Emily B.

Yelp
We were out of town and needed a good home style spot for breakfast after working out. Decided to give Nanou a shot. When we first got there there was a line but it went super quickly. There were 2 gentlemen in the front and they were knocking out orders quickly and very welcoming. I ended up getting the veggie omelet that had the choice of three toppings. I chose mushrooms, tomatoes, and onions. The mushroom on the omelet was nicely cooked and a bit charred - yum. It also was super hot and fresh so cooked right there and then. The sourdough toast it came with felt perfect on my stomach and felt like the good healthy authentic bread I needed. I took a snap of the French toast but since I didn't taste it I won't review. I will say my son loved it and ate it right up. This breakfast bakery felt nice on the eye and despite it being busy the workers did a fantastic job of maintaining it well kept. If you in the area I would say this spot is a no brainer.

Phill H.

Yelp
Wife and I were visiting Ft. Lauderdale and yelped breakfast places nearby. This place was ranked highly and so we went there and it did not disappoint. At the time Sunday morning after holidays there appeared to be a mix of college students, 20 something's girls mostly and some families. This place is French and seemed to be like a family business, the staff is definitely French. Food was good with fresh breads that were a highlight, and my chai latte was excellent I even ordered a second one. Recommend. Nice relaxing place, good to hangout.

Amir E.

Yelp
So good my wife and I had to come twice! Let me explain... We were staying at the Hotel Marin and wanted to have a a delicious breakfast. My wife is a big fan or Parisian culture so we decided on Nanou Two words, Nutella Croissant and The Breakfast Sandwich. That's all you need for an incredible meal at Nanou! The croissants are made fresh daily. The crispy but soft texture of the croissant contrasted well with the Nutella on top, yummy! The breakfast sandwich was made with brioche bread and is to die for. I literally had this sandwich two days in a row it was so good! The bacon is oven baked! The egg is a perfect balance of cooked and the yolk was perfectly runny. Other highlights were the freshly squeezed orange juice! The staff were all friendly, the vibes were pleasant and overall 10/10. I'd come to Nanou again in a heartbeat. I'm jealous that we don't have Nanou in Los Angeles!

Leonor C.

Yelp
The Best breakfast at las Olas!!! Five stars not enough!!!! Can't wait to come back!!

Kacy G.

Yelp
Service and ambiance are lovely! We may have just ordered poorly. My friend ordered the omelet on bread and admittedly though perhaps her own miscommunication wound up with strictly egg whites on a baguette. I had a breakfast sandwich, and it was fine, but I didn't finish it. A lot of hot sauce supplementation was warranted. I will say they had a lot of baked goods, and that may be where the food really shines. Again, the atmosphere inside and outside are great for a meal, and the staff were super helpful, accommodating, and friendly. Really a 3.5 overall.

Clarissa K.

Yelp
7-22-23 10:30 AM Met my friend here for breakfast today. I had this place bookmarked forever as had to go. Once I arrived they have a small parking lot out front and was able to get a space. That alone deserves a star especially being steps away from the beach. We ordered at the register where I noticed this fresh squeezed orange juice in front of me. I was so surprised it is fresh squeezed especially since the glass was so large. I skipped the usual cappuccino as it was too hot and my nerves were on edge already. Since they have such beautiful baked goods I went with the French Toast with a side of bacon. My friend got a Decaffeinated Americano and a vegetarian omelette. We were lucky to find a seat as we waited for our order to come up. It took awhile but perfection does take time. The food was delicious as was my juice. I would have liked to have given them a perfect review but there is a heatwave and this place was uncomfortable and hot. I truly feel bad for the staff especially for those in the kitchen. Other than the heat it was great. Will come in January when it's cooler.

Jessica F.

Yelp
This place is a gem!! French little bakery with moderate seating and the food is OMG orgasmic!! Everything is seasoned to exactly what your palate needs to taste! And if you are a fan of fresh bread and almond , they will blow your mind! It's a must visit here in Las Olas Ft. Lauderdale!! You won't regret it and remember me for it! Hands down best almond croissant with a creamy filling that melts in your mouth . I asked for it to be warm and it was gooey, just absolutely delightful!

Matt B.

Yelp
One of the better breakfast places close to the strip. The best thing of course is the free range eggs in all of their breakfast plates. Their custom omelet is a great portion at a great price. They have a great selection of their homemade, craft coffee and tea. While parking isn't great, it's easy to walk to if you're staying on Ocean Avenue. On a side note, it's a super kid friendly place.

Josh P.

Yelp
A quaint spot on Las Olas Blvd! The presentation of food was well thought out and the pastries were not bad. The Eggs Benedict with salmon was an interesting variation from my usual expectation of Eggs Benedict. I also had the chance to try the Caprese sandwich which was great and may be my go to if I were to visit again. In terms of pastries the passionfruit pastry was full of flavor albeit a little too sweet for my taste. On the other hand the Opera was semisweet but again a little bit dry. Decor was very interesting and unique. As for seasonal decorations, they had Halloween decorations during my visit.

Frances B.

Yelp
My ladies and I went on a girl's trip to Ft Lauderdale and ate at Nanou. The food was excellent as was the ambiance. We sat in the outdoor seating area which was very quaint and shaded. All this was made even better by the level of service provided. We did not get his name unfortunately but the young gentleman that works there is awesome! He is on top of people's order and very friendly and kind. By our third day in a row going there for breakfast he greeted us like family with a warm smile and hug. This place is phenomenal as is this young man! You should definitely stop and enjoy one of their many pastries, coffees etc. you will not be disappointed. Can't wait for our next trip back there.

Jenna M.

Yelp
Food excellent. Coffee excellent. Service excellent. Wait: uuuggghhhhh. Takes forever. Very very busy place. If you're in a hurry, don't come here. BUT... I was happy with my avocado toast add 2 eggs over medium. Raspberry tart yummy as well. One thing I really appreciated is when the police officer walked in they stopped the line and served the officers first we tried to offer to pay for the police officer, but the owner refused. She was determined she was going to pay for it. Love them for that. Will be back.

Nancy S.

Yelp
While walking we discovered this gem. Delicious fresh food, wonderful atmosphere and lovely owners. Highly recommend!

Karen P.

Yelp
Chocolate croissant - best part of our visit. I would go back for just that. My husband and I came here the day after July 4th to get breakfast. It's a cute little bakery in a small plaza, but it has parking! Just not many spots. Inside it's super welcoming. They have indoor and outdoor seating. They also sell small jars of jelly and honey and other items. He got the classic breakfast which came with eggs, potatoes, a meat, and bread. He enjoyed all of it. I thought the potatoes were especially good. I got the French toast, which was good but not great. I definitely enjoyed the fresh strawberries and whipped cream with it though. My husband also really liked his coffee. I also bought a chocolate croissant to take home for later, but I took a bite just to try it while we were waiting for our food. We ended up eating the whole thing before our food even arrived. It was that good!

Yelp
Wow! Where to begin? I will first say I am from Paris originally. So, I had huge expectations for an authentic place and drove 30 MINUTES to try based on the reviews and BOY it was WORTH IT!!! The owner and entire staff are French. Even before I said a word, they were the warmest hosts. I say 'host' because it did not feel like a business. It truly brought me back to the family bakery in the street I grew up with in Paris, where the son of the owners and I were classmates in elementary school! Important detail because I always felt like I was visiting their home instead of a store. Somehow, they replicated that atmosphere within MINUTES before they even knew I spoke French. As for the food: let's just say there are few places in the United States I make mandatory stops to when I want to feel like home without a six hour flight and jet lag. This became one of them INSTANTLY! The croque madame and crepe were to DIE for! The ingredients were fresh and flavorful. The crepe itself was not too sweet so the sugar complimented it perfectly. What some may consider a "simple" meal was done PERFECTLY. I am a tough critic when it comes to food from home. Leaving me impressed is not an easy task, especially since I have been disappointed in many so-called "fine French dining" venues (some with Michelin stars) in New York, LA, Boston and more. If none of what I said convinced you, try it out for yourself. I promise you you'll come back to this review and agree once you have Five stars WELL EARNED!
