Yelp
After a thousand apparently very positive reviews, like this one I am writing here, there is nothing I am going to add here that has not already been said. With that then I am going to hone in one thing....their quiche.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!? Our experience enjoying their "quiche of the day" on this one visit is quite possible the best quiche eating experience we have ever had. I mean that. Mic drop...we walk away.
When I think of quiche, I think of the Americanized version of quiche that is served in this country. Often dense and packed with too much stuff, with a crust that is equally dense and often lard like perfectly solid, this is what I am anticipating getting as I order. Often the eggs can barely be detected, because they are really the glue holding the too many ingredients inside of it together and get lost in the recipe. We get use to this, because we know no different. But with the "quiche of the day" being spinach and not containing red meat, I order it.
This quiche I am consuming is exactly as a quiche should be. It is blowing my mind. Not only has it been served up by a French person who is part attitude by looking down at me a bit because I am a tourist and an American (as the French can be, lets be honest), but they are serving me what will be the most delicious piece of quiche I know that I have ever consumed (outside France, of course). The lightest most fluffy eggs are what are most dominate and then there is some spinach that is clearly taking a backseat to the foundational egg part. And the crust, I am smitten, irregularly shaped for it has been made from scratch and by hand. The crust is light, flakey and a touch buttery. I loved this moment with this slice of quiche so much, it gets its very own Yelp review.
Thank you Nanou Las Olas....you have raised my quiche bar and I will now compare all future quiches to this delicious moment in time I had at your establishment. Thank you!
