However, on my recent visit, the espresso was just okay. Given that they roast their own beans on-site, I was expecting a shot with a bit more depth, crema, and a more distinct flavor profile. Instead, the drink felt fairly standard and didn't really stand out compared to other specialty coffee shops in downtown Napa. It certainly provided the "cup" I needed to get through the afternoon, but it wasn't the kind of high-end espresso experience that would make me go out of my way to visit again. It’s a reliable choice if you just need a basic caffeine fix, but it didn’t quite reach the level of "best" in the valley for me. ⏳ Service Delays and Staff Interaction One of the most disappointing aspects of the visit was the wait time before ordering. I stopped by during the late afternoon, and the place was pretty empty at the time. I expected to be served almost immediately, but instead, I found myself standing at the counter for quite a while before any of the staff acknowledged me or was ready to take my order. It’s always a bit frustrating when a cafe is quiet yet the service feels slow or inattentive. In a specialty shop like this, you generally hope for a more welcoming and efficient interaction, especially when there isn't a long line of customers ahead of you. The delay felt unnecessary and significantly brought down the overall quality of the experience. 🏢 Atmosphere and Neighborhood Vibe The cafe itself has a very classic, "neighborhood coffee shop" feel that fits perfectly into the downtown Napa aesthetic. It’s housed in a charming building and offers a comfortable space that feels authentic and unpretentious. Classic Decor: The interior has a traditional vibe that many long-time locals clearly appreciate, making it a good spot for a casual sit-down if you aren't in a hurry. Great Location: Being right on Main St makes it very accessible if you are already walking around the downtown area or visiting nearby shops. Bean Selection: They do offer a wide variety of whole beans for sale, which seems to be a major draw for their regular customers who enjoy brewing at home. Late Afternoon Availability: While many independent shops close early, this location stays open until 5:00 PM, which is helpful if you need a late-day cup, even if the service speed might vary. 👍 Final Verdict: A Hit-or-Miss Stop I am rating Napa Valley Coffee Roasting Co 3 stars on Google. While it is a staple of the Napa community and offers a wide range of roasts, my specific experience with the slow service and mediocre espresso was a bit of a letdown. If you have plenty of time to spare and just need a place to sit and relax, the atmosphere is perfectly pleasant. However, if you are looking for quick service or the absolute best crafted espresso in town, you might find yourself feeling a little impatient here. It’s worth a stop to see if your experience with the staff is better than mine, but based on this visit, I’ll likely be trying some of the other nearby roasters next time I’m in the neighborhood.

They were closed by the time I made it up the first night after a 90-minute drive. I went back a few days later and drove another hour just to be able to pick up some fresh roasted coffee and one of the best lattes you can get anywhere in the United States.

Ordered an iced pumpkin spice latte. Doesn’t matter the size, they all only come with one shot of espresso according to the barista. My coffee was bland couldn’t taste the pumpkin spice nor the espresso. Waste of $6.50. There is only one bathroom stall. Not sure why they only have hot water for the faucet to wash your hands. It wasn’t just hot, it was scalding.

While visiting Napa, I could’ve gone to Starbucks—but I always prefer supporting local spots when I travel. Napa Valley Coffee Roasting Company did not disappoint! The coffee was absolutely delicious, and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The shop was clean, cozy, and had a great variety of coffee options available for purchase—perfect for bringing a little Napa flavor home. Bonus points: the restrooms were clean and easily accessible, which is always appreciated. Whether you’re craving a refreshing cold drink or a piping hot cup of coffee, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommend!

Beware: if you order a Cappuccino here, it’ll be pretty much an Italian style cappuccino. Not like in other coffee shops. It’s more mundane, more simple, but it’s okay if you know that beforehand. For me, it was too milky. But not much of a problem, as there is a large menu from which you can choose your favorite coffee. And the staff is quite friendly if you are a regular customer.

Great quality coffee in a clean upscale setting. This establishment roasts their own beans and offers a broad selection for sale including a generously discounted weekly selection. The staff is friendly and barista Mika delivered an Italian flavored cappuccino and cortado with strong coffee notes, rich foam and excellent crema. What a difference from Le Paris Artisan Cafe I visited right before. At Napa Valley Coffee Roastery I requested double shots for each beverage which yielded 2 exceptionally strong cups made from dark French roasted espresso beans. I may have overreached due to the weak, underflavored cortado at Le Paris Artisan cafe. Adding half and half to each and a bit of honey solved that quickly. Pricing is modest compared to Bay Area coffee prices which added to the experience. This was my second visit and quality has been consistent. This 4 star establishment deserves your business and I plan to visit again whenever in town.

First time visit today. Mondays and Wednesdays I try to visit local coffee shops. I check in and alert my social media followers they can join me for some coffee, meet and greet and business chat. It's a great way to support local while introducing folks to a great business. Today was Napa Valley Coffee Roasting. First, the atmosphere was great. Friendly greeting, cute decor, great banter. Super cute and clean. Lavender Vanilla Latte - was great. Pretty and delicious 😋 I added a photo. Lots of local traffic from the various professional businesses in the vicinity as well as regulars. Adding to the wonderful atmosphere. It was really a comfortable spot. I'm considering it as my regular Wednesday spot just because it was so just right.

The atmosphere is way better than their coffee. I had the cinnamon coffee (I think it was flavored syrup). There was virtually no cinnamon taste and way too sweet for my taste;hence why I think it was syrup. My husband had their self-serve coffee - HORRIBLE. And why is it that they don’t have light or medium roast. Don’t waste your money.
