Narcisse Restaurant

I’m sad to see this place with such little people and such little reviews. As soon as I arrived here I took photos of the aesthetics and decorations it was magical and looks exactly like the pictures that are shown on Google. I’m writing this because on November 4th I had the absolute best time of my life and the owner made it that way, he was so friendly and kind, his son was adorable aswell and made everything so much more comforting than a busy restaurant you usually find at soho. He made sure that we got everything we needed and made sure we were comfortable. I had a brunch meal and usually the food is just boring salads but.. the food.. the food! It was so very exquisite, I had the chicken burger+fries, a couple of my friends had the Mac n cheese, steak w/ potatoes, and spaghetti, my friend offered me a piece of steak and that was probably the moment I fell in love with this place. The steak was 25 dollars too. How do you serve such an amazing piece of meat and call that 25 dollars?? I’m so upset at myself for not taking enough photos of the food 🤦‍♀️.. At the end when we had my birthday cake, the owner was kind enough to give us a knife since we forgot to bring one and had plates and silverware ready for us. There’s no reason I would even give up half a star for this obvious 5 star place. Please for your own sake, come here.

Not gonna lie - I was embarrassed to take my friend Jon here (my 2nd visit), only to agree when he said, "I'll never come back here." My first review was enthusiastic because I got great attention from the only waiter, Carlos. My steak salad wasn't drenched in dressing (sad that the least expected standard is worth a star) but the sirloin, while cooked to the right temperature, was chewy and tough (which is why I'm not a fan of sirloin). I met some nice people, had a little wine. Hence the good review. This time, not even close. The steak tartare was roughly-ground sirloin. Bland, nothing to provide interest. The 2-minute boiled egg on top was runny-yolk excellence but that was it. My $40 branzino was cooked to be still moist, but again flavorless. Jon bit into a hot piece of grilled salmon asked for a quick water refill. Carlos got distracted (because he doesn't shark the room and ensure that he carries water as he checks the tables -- I think there are 28 seats and 6 or 8 bar stools in this tiny bistro). I had to go to the bar to get Jon's glass refilled after waiting a very long time. Carlos suddenly appeared and said, "I was going to get that for you." Um .... when? The chocolate lava cake we ordered was never ticketed to the kitchen (beware - based on what we saw dropped at the next table we think they're from Trader Joe's, which cost under $5 for a two-pack). Half an hour later, we realized Carlos had left for the night without checking on our desert or telling us the bartender would complete our experience (which she did but even that was less than optimal--she meant well ...). We left. I am fully-supportive of new restaurants that are working out the kinks. But Narcisse lacks nightly management. A compartmentalizing waiter who can't flow with ALL of his tables, a mediocre menu that is executed without inspiration or love for the food, and a new bartender who is a self-proclaimed expert in restaurant management yet doesn't know when to stop talking about themselves and move on back to their duties, just make this place WORK in a bad way. And a waste of money on overpriced dishes relative to the chef's talent. It's too bad because the location is great, the space is dark, cozy and attractive, and they play decent music over the speakers. But don't judge this book by its sophisticated cover -- inside is pulp. 😰

Pleasant and attentive service. The cuisine was delectable and the vibe was just right. Hope to try dessert next time. The owner is nice.

I had dinner with my friends last week at this restaurant, and the food was amazing. The ambiance and customer service is top notch. I've been back there twice for a solo lunch. I think this is my newly found spot and I highly recommend it. Loved it.

Dined here over the weekend (12/16/2023) and was overall disappointed. Ordered the bruschetta to start - tomatoes were BAD, or starting to go bad, very mushy; then the steak salad was my entree - dry steak and not cooked to my liking (a med rare), boring salad. My mom got the Gnocchi and the sauce was good but the Gnocci itself was too mushy - this seems to be the theme! Our server wasn't every attentive and gave us the wrong order of cocktails - I ordered a french 75 and my mom got an old fashioned. We were given two Martinis! We reminded the server of our order but waited at least another 20 minutes for them.

Had the crab cakes, salmon and bread pudding. Amazing food from start to finish. Also had drinks with appetizers and they were not weak and served in a good-sized glass. Service is impeccable. Carlos and Heather made sure we were happy and full. Very professional, but they were friendly and fun. Would definitely dine in this relaxingly beautiful restaurant.

If you’re in east 59 of Manhattan then you should make a stop at Narcisse! This chic restaurant has a vibe of its own. The decor, food, drinks and service are TOP TIER. The vegetarian lasagna was full of flavors and the drinks were perfection. If you’re into a refreshing drink with fresh strawberries try the Imán. Into something dark with a tase of coffee liquor, then go for the Amber. Won’t go wrong with either one.

I came here with a group of eight and had a great time! The ambiance was lovely and the staff were friendly and attentive. The food was well prepared, looked gorgeous, and tasted great too. For a fine dining experience it wasn't too expensive, especially considering it's NYC. One thing I will note is the the entrees vary in size quite a bit. I got the spicy rigatoni and it was quite large while my friend's scallops were quite small. I'd recommend asking the wait staff about your proportions if this would be an issue for you. That said, Narcisse was just the spot my friend's and I were looking for!

Came to the bar one early evening to meet an old friend staying nearby. Excellent ambience and decor. Great liquor selection, fantastic service, music low enough to converse.

I came here for lunch with visiting family. Narcisse is a very solid spot that executed the variety of our orders accurately, from medium salmon, medium well steak, to rare tuna, the cooks executed each internal temperature and resulting texture perfectly. The place does fall a little short of 5* for me only because I think the seasoning on the proteins were just a little too subtle, they go very light on the seasoning which is nice for a light palette, but a little too light is too light for me. For example, lacking black pepper flavor composition with the salmon or salt on the burger meat. However, I think their truffle fries and truffle Mac and cheese are must buys. Exquisite truffle flavor for a great price point and easy to share, especially the Mac and cheese. I'd happily come back here again and encourage others to visit this lowkey spot.

Super cute brunch place in midtown! Came here on a Sunday with a friend, and was pleasantly surprised to find it was quiet and a perfect spot to catch up at--it's usually impossible to find a Sunday brunch spot that isn't crazy crowded! Food was standard nyc brunch fare. We both has the eggs florentine and shared an order of truffle fries. Nothing mind blowing, but simple and well-made. Our waitress was very accommodating and I loved how bright and airy the restaurant was. Would definitely recommend for anyone in the area looking for a quiet spot to bring a friend or just to enjoy a meal alone!

Food and drinks were great. We had the chicken pot pie and is was awesome. Perfect for the weather! Service is exceptional as well.

I recently held an intimate dinner party to celebrate my mother's retirement. It was truly a special evening, made even more special and unique by Carlos' (the restaurant's co-owner) attention to detail. The table settings were understated yet elegant. The evening's guests found the service, food, and ambiance amazing and many said they would return for the great food (you must try the tiramisu, banana bread, or vegan lasagna!). We really couldn't ask for more! In homage to the former building location of the Ford modeling agency, portraits of trailblazing models line the walls of the restaurant. And don't forget to bask in the beauty that's Marcia Turnier towards the rear of the restaurant on your left side.

The ambiance here is amazing. Between the cool bar, warm lighting, and the velvet chairs, the details really make this place. The music was also great. The food was delicious - it was a mix of american with some haitian dishes. Each dish was made very eloquently and came out tasting perfect. Their lentil soup was especially good. The mac and cheese was hearty and cheesy. Brussel sprouts are not easy to make, but they were soft and flavorful.

Very nice local restaurant, just off First Avenue so it doesn't have the visibility. Good service, nice prices. Strongly recommend.

5 stars is not enough to describe what an amazing time all my family had here! From the delicious food (my favorite tuna salad, vegan lasagna, banana bread pudding and special order of lobster macaroni) the atmosphere was intimate, cozy, elegant and the whole staff so professional and friendly. Made us feel like home I highly recommend it for any of your specials occasions. This is my new hot spot! Can't wait to be back!

Beautiful ambiance, great friendly service, delicious food! I ordered the seafood linguine, my husband had the steak frites, our son in law ordered the steak salad and our daughter had the special, spicy rigatoni with burrata. All were delicious!! We will be back!

Took super long vibes were terrible. I could make a better eggs benedict in my sleep. Worst benedict ive eve Have had better brunch food at bus stations.

Came across this restaurant on Yelp. Was visiting NY, needed a place for late brunch on a weekday. Very impressed. The french fries have their own dedicated fryer (attention those with Celiac who are dying for fries) and the fries were excellent. The Twiggy cocktail was yummy and refreshing, and the bartender gladly held vermouth in the cocktail as we are not fans of vermouth. There was complementary house made bread and breadsticks (though not for those with Celiac) - luckily, that is not me and the bread and breadsticks were very good. We each had the Norwegian Eggs (smoked salmon benny), which was also delicious (potatoes instead of english muffin for those with Celiac).

Disappointing. The giveaway should have been being the sole diner during brunch service. The server was apathetic. The fish was overcooked. The server said, "Sorry." And that was that.

We love this new addition to the neighborhood that has quickly become our cool new weekend hangout: sophisticated atmosphere, cool music, beautiful cocktails, delicious food [the tomahawk and the lobster Mac and cheese are to die for], and not to mention the friendliest staff. What's not to like about Narcisse? The place brings a downtown vibe to the UES. Last night was our second visit and we were not disappointed. Felt like we were visiting an old friend's home from the minute we arrived. Jamie will host you with open arms, and share the funniest of stories. Can't wait to be back!

Terrible food. Very weird vibes. Struggled the make the most basic of breakfast foods correctly. Feeling ripped off.

Narcisse is a hidden gem (and less than 1/2 block away from the first avenue corner)! Delicious and creative food but also the cocktails are sublime. The owner is a mixologist and asks what you like and delivers a concoction - it feels like a customized experience from start to finish. I originally found this spot meeting up with a friend after work for a drink and returned with my husband after shopping at Trader Joe's for a few things (very close by) . The ambiance is also lovely. You will not be disappointed with your experience

Such a nice little restaurant! My friend and I came in for dinner and had an amazing experience. We ordered burrata, mac n cheese (to die for!), truffle french fries, gnocchi w chicken and lollipop ribs. Food was delicious! Portions are generous. Its BYOB until they get liquor license which should very soon! But hey, liquor store is a block away and we were perfectly fine with that! Very nice ambiance. Super friendly staff.

We now have a new favorite restaurant in the Sutton Place area, Narcisse. Whether it is a delicious weekend brunch or a beautiful dinner, we are consistently served delicious meals made to order (my wife has food allergies and I eat gluten free). Carlos and Jamie are so gracious and accommodating to our needs and the dishes are fabulous. Welcome to the neighborhood!

We stepped into this nice restaurant right next to the bridge as we are two blocks away. We were surprised with the tender and juicy steak frites and steak salad. Talked to owner Carlos a bit and learnt they are very careful and selective on the vendor. Not surprising! Have been to great steakhouse and know what good meat tastes like. The place is cozy, quiet and inviting with relaxing music. Also the dinner started with their house made strawberry and mushroom butter. A happy meal with my kid.

One of the best dining experiences I have had in a long time. Absolutely amazing!!! We ordered the Burrata and Bronzino, both were 10/10. They brought us complimentary guacamole for Cinco de Mayo weekend, and that was equally superb. The atmosphere is comforting and classy at the same time- not pretentious or snobby in the least. The owner was welcoming, helpful and so kind. We felt like we were visiting an old friend. The quality of food and service is unmatched. I will be back here again ... and again... and again!

All I'm going to say as the place has potential. Give the place a few more months as they are having some growing pains. I will give them a second try but in the future.

Visited this new restaurant last night. Really nice Parisian vibe to the decor. We ate mixed olives, Branzino, and carrots. All were excellent. Just as importantly, everyone who worked at Narcisse was friendly and excited to be there. We will be back shortly to sample the rest of the menu.

Narcisse is really terrific! A dear friend and I ate there yesterday, and we absolutely loved the food, which was both interesting in its variety and quite delicious; and the service was truly excellent. Moreover, Narcisse has a really nice, comfortable, yet chic, atmosphere and good vibes. I highly recommend it.

Last minute, late night dinner on a Friday near closing time (14-Oct-22). Owner Carlos was gracious enough to accept our party of 3 and made sure we weren't rushed. We brought a bottle of wine (BYOB for now, no corkage fee; liquor license on the way) which was promptly served. Ordered an appetizer special to share, filet mignon, gnocchi with chicken, and red snapper special but unfortunately snapper was 86. So, "settled" for the branzino instead. Pleasantly surprised by the fish, best dish of the night although food was good overall. The branzino was fresh, moist, and perfectly seasoned not overly dressed - a bit messy to eat since we ordered the whole fish, but it was worth the extra work to debone it. It's a great neighborhood joint we hope to return to soon and often.

Lovely little spot. The food was absolutely delicious, the atmosphere is intimate and charming, and the service was great. Will go again if I'm in the area!

Food is great, the owner Carlos is so friendly and inviting. I can't wait for them to get their liquor license in a few weeks because when we've brought our own liquor and he brings the mix to make the drinks with they are incredible. Lovely spot!

Had a great meal here with my wife over the weekend! The attention to detail in the food and decor is spot on. An excellent addition to the neighborhood.

This place is a one of a kind gem!!Everything was absolutely delicious, and the freshness and quality of the ingredients really stand out. Beyond that, what really makes Narcisse unique is the French-Caribbean twist on the food. If you love or ever wanted to try Haitian food, this will definitely hit the spot. The flavor is unreal!! Also, great ambiance and service. Very upscale look balanced out by an intimate and welcoming feel. Good for date night, small group gathering, or even just to try some delicious food that stands out in a city full of options. Highly recommend!

Wonderful Mother's Day lunch at Narcisse. Norwegian eggs Benedict was delish. We will be back.
