The Best Middle Eastern Restaurants to Try in Chicago’s Southwest Suburbs | Eater Chicago

"At Palestinian Jordanian-owned restaurant Nariman, find a rotating selection of Arab comfort food favorites like molokhia (an Egyptian stew of molokhia greens with roasted chicken and lemon on the side), freekeh (green durum wheat with meat or vegetable toppings), mansaf (lamb stewed in yogurt), bamia (stewed okra with lamb), maqlubeh (an upside-down rice dish made of meat and vegetables), and bokhare (a traditional Saudi rice dish). The Arab comfort spot’s selection changes daily, so check its online menu if you’re looking for a specific dish." - Nylah Iqbal Muhammad

I just had an incredible experience at this place! The food was phenomenal - their Sunday menu was clearly prepped to perfection, the chicken was so tender it practically fell off the bone. The waiter was super friendly and attentive. Don't expect fancy decor, but totally worth it. Would absolutely recommend!

It was my first time trying this restaurant, and I had had enough junk food, so I was looking for something that felt like a home-cooked meal. This was it! I’m glad I gave it a try because I genuinely enjoyed every bite. The spices were on point, the salad and pickled vegetables were fresh and flavorful, and the hospitality was excellent. I’d definitely recommend this spot, especially if you’re craving homemade-style food. Pay attention to the daily menus as they change. New food is added everyday but they also maintain some dishes throughout the week on a daily basis. The prices are also very reasonable compared to other restaurants nearby.

Everyday has a different menu apparently. We came on a Monday and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. The owner checked on us frequently to make sure everything was good. You could tell he genuinely cared about our opinions. We will definitely come back and highly recommend.

A new “homy” way of serving Arabic food (Palestinian). The place is noisy. The servant was focused on socializing with a girl from another shop. It was a bit too much chatting and loud The food was average at best. Mansaf was below average, the rice was too oily. The yogurt soup was too watery and made from instant package. Stuffed zucchini was average. Meat quality is questionable. Fatoush salad was bad, dressing was missing. No taste and came with deep fried thick greasy pita. Kibbi was a home run in flavor but was cooked in low temperature oil, hence it was oil spongy. The bathroom was dirty. The food reminds me with old country local neighborhood restaurants. Overall, checked the box. I might give it another chance but not in the near term.

The mansaf was very bad and the meat pieces were small. In addition, the soup was also very bad. If you want to succeed and keep your customers, you must cook and serve the meals in a better way. After this meal, I will not repeat the mistake of buying from you again

Absolutely loved this place! The staff were so welcoming and attentive, and the food was full of flavor. Everything came out fresh and beautifully presented. You can tell they care about quality and customer experience. Highly recommend and will definitely be coming back soon!

The only middle eastern restaurant in all of Chicagoland where one gets to experience true home style Arabic/Middle Eastern food. The food here is absolutely amazing and the prices are extremely reasonable! Everyone at the table loved every dish - which is rare amongst a group of 6 people! And Mo, who was serving us, was truly one of the best hosts we had ever experienced in dining out. This place is a true gem and we will be going back to this place often especially because the menu changes everyday! Mo is either going to be my new best friend or going to get sick of us - either way we are going to be savoring some of the best Arabic food Chicago has to offer.

Great food at a great price! Went in a Sunday and they had a full chicken or beef meal for $17! It was enough food for two meals! First time going and would come back again :)

Yelp
Came back for meal number two and three! I got the Molokhia with chicken. Delicious! Loved that the chicken was baked and they even gave me a plate of olives and pickles to go with my meal. Third trip I ordered the magloubeh with lamb and it was also a winner in my book. Very generous potions and meat was cooked to perfection!

Yelp
I've been ordering from this restaurant a few times, but the last few times was horrible, I ordered the rice with the vegetables and it was super salty. There was hardly any vegetables and it was a small portion and the chicken was so dry. Then today I ordered grape leaves and zucchini. I only got the grape leaves, and when I called to tell the man on the phone that I only got grape leaves, he didn't offer to refund or credit me for the zucchini. He said it was probably just a mistake then he asked what do I want. That's not good. Customer service at all. When you tell a customer what do you want? You should have the resolution I shouldn't have to tell you what I want. I decided anyways to go ahead and just eat the grape leaves because I already paid such a high price for a little bit of grape leaves. The leaves were extremely salty. I could hardly eat them and had no flavor at all. This place is so pricey they charge you so much give you little portions and they don't taste their food before they make it or they have a cook. Cook in there the ants extra salt and no other flavoring. These were the most disgusting grape leaves I've ever tasted in my whole life, this restaurant is a disgrace to Middle Eastern and a disgrace to humans, if someone calls you as a customer stating they are not satisfied with the order because you guys made the mistake you offer the resolution not say what do you want me to do. I still have the nasty taste of those salty grape leaves in my mouth please if you want good middleEastern food do not order from this place
