Yelp
Recently visited and left thoroughly disappointed. Ordered the catfish bites, bairdi crab, shrimp, and sausage. The catfish bites, though over-seasoned, were the highlight of an otherwise forgettable meal. The crab was overcooked and devoid of flavor, the shrimp were uninspired, and the sausage tasted industrial and overly processed. The ambience was lively and dark, with a vibe reminiscent of a late-night bar.
I requested melted butter to pair with our crab. Ace, our server, returned swiftly with what appeared to be a dish of oil. One taste confirmed it--margarine. Ace admitted he had a guest bring their own butter that he would bring back to the kitchen to melt since the restaurant only serves margarine, a result of management's corner-cutting measures. Manager Carrie confirmed this, citing rising prices and the "high cost" of quality ingredients. The food, cooked with what tasted like low-grade oil, reflected these poor choices.
A $120 bill, plus tip, was an insult given the experience. Management did nothing to remedy our dissatisfaction. For better quality and real butter, go to Red Lobster--which feels like five-star dining compared to this place--or any other seafood restaurant. Needless to say, I won't be back, and neither should you.
