8 Best Miami Gay Bars & LGBTQ-Friendly Bars

"Nathan’s is a gay bar right on Washington Ave. and 12th Street—one of the beach’s busiest strips. This place has undergone a few changes in its life, and is now calling itself Nathan's Beach Club. So you can expect DJs, loud music, and dancing. But there's still a pretty robust lineup of weekly events like RuPaul's Drag Race viewing parties, and "Latin night" with $8 margaritas. You can see what's coming up on their Instagram." - isabel maza

Nathan’s Bar Review - South Beach - Miami - The Infatuation

"Nathan’s is a gay bar right on Washington Ave and 12th street, one of the beach’s busiest strips, with a decor based on nostalgic TV favorites with a twist - like a giant portrait of the Pink Panther requesting you “send nudes.” Grab a seat on a plush couch and check out their cocktail menu, which will be much more diverse than that cast photo of Friends you’re sitting under. They’ve got clever themes for pretty much every night of the week, including Pop Culture Mondays and Wednesday Sing-Alongs, and with well-priced drink specials and plenty of small bites, it’s an easy spot to spend most of a night at." - Isabel Maza

Such a nice atmosphere, good music and energy. Very nice customer service. Nathan, the owned is a very nice person. The best mojito I’ve drank, omg!

Stopped by for a few hours last night and had a great time! The bar was very clean and well decorated (loved the discos balls and hanging vines on the ceiling). It took us a while to realize that there were additional rooms in the back, but i particularly loved the red-lighted room. Such a fun vibe! Bartenders were very friendly and made our drinks fast. Definitely worth stopping by if you’re in the area!

Nice atmosphere and excellent bartenders but it'll be slow, be ready to be deafened by the music and to be trapped in the men's room (no door knob on the inside of the door).

Didn’t even spend 10 minutes in this bar. Bartenders come across with attitude, especially the tall Cuban guy. In the service industry, being friendly and approachable to customers is essential, but it feels like he really dislikes his job.

Fun place but karaoke host does not know how to run things. You’re supposed to intersperse new people with people who have already gone up before. Don’t just keep bringing the same people up over and over again!

Even on a Monday, Norman's, errr I mean NATHAN'S, is a great local watering hole for people who just wanna drink and have a good time without the intensity that Twist and/or The Palace requires. If you luck out with a phenomenal bartender (Lucas or Richard) you're in amazing hands, but even the non-amazing ones (truth be told, I didn't go to them) are good! And the owner Nathan, is one of the most congenial and knowledgeable owners of a gay bar I've ever met. This is a place to visit in South Beach!

You know a place is going downhill when they’re as expensive as a quality Brickell restaurant like Komodo. $40 for 2 margaritas served in plastic cups full of ice is outrageous. Nathan’s also adds an auto-gratuity of 18%, so you don’t double tip them. The burning sensation we both had after sipping on our drinks makes us suspect they’re refilling the Casamigos bottles with cheaper well tequila and serving it. Yuck.

Place was empty on a Saturday 11 pm . The comments about the bartenders are true . The tall latino guy got an atitude because I asked if my tab was closed since he didn’t ask me if I wanted open or closed .all he wanted to do vape and not be bothered lol .
