25 Best Affordable All-Inclusive Resorts Around the World

"If you’ve heard of Rethymno, it may be because the town is home to one of the best-preserved castles in Crete, Fortezza Castle. Old Town (where you’ll find the 17th-century structure) is only 2.5 miles from Nautilux Rethymno — so you can experience the Venetian Renaissance and Ottoman architecture and the relaxing resort atmosphere. When you’re on the property, expect to lounge by the pool, swim in the Sea of Crete, and dance the night away at the beach club. Activities like boat rentals, city tours, and helicopter sightseeing can be arranged for additional costs." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Twelve Hotels With Sights Set on Sustainability

"Rethymno, on the north coast of Crete, is a small city, but it’s large enough to lend Nautilux something of a dual aspect: this is a proper beach resort with direct access to the Aegean, but it’s also a quick walk from the vibrant little town center. At the hotel, best practices promote sustainability with a particular focus on solar energy and local, seasonal cuisine." - Mark Fedeli

The Cheapest Nicest All-Inclusive Resorts, From Crete to Cancun

"While the term “all-inclusive” typically conjures images of Caribbean resorts, spots along Europe’s Mediterranean coast also offer similar packages at relatively low prices. The newly-constructed Nautilux Rethymno on Crete has all the trappings of the best Greek resorts—clean white exteriors, quiet modern design, and a vast swimming pool all overlooking the sea. Add the all-inclusive option, and you no longer need to fret over where to hit for dinner each night."

A Perfect Getaway with Stunning Beachfront Location I had an incredible stay at this hotel, which boasts a beautiful, beachfront location with direct access to a pristine and stunning beach. The cleanliness of the beach is remarkable, making it a perfect place to relax and unwind. The staff here truly stands out—they are extremely welcoming, attentive to guests' needs, and always available to help with a smile. The breakfast is absolutely delicious, and if you're not on an all-inclusive package, I highly recommend trying dinner at the hotel at least once. The food is phenomenal, with a mix of traditional Cretan dishes, fresh and flavorful salads, an abundance of vegetables and fruits, and a wide variety of desserts. Every meal was a delightful experience. The rooms are spacious and immaculately clean, equipped with all necessary toiletries. A major highlight for me was the large hairdryer with a diffuser, which was a great addition. The room also had a coffee machine, towels, bathrobes, and slippers for extra comfort. Fresh beach towels were provided daily for the sunbeds, which was a nice touch. For those who enjoy staying active, the hotel offers dedicated areas for spa treatments and exercise. Additionally, there are nearby souvenir shops with reasonable prices, as well as supermarkets, pharmacies, restaurants, and plenty of attractions for those who wish to explore beyond the beach. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for its excellent service, stunning location, and exceptional dining experience!

My partner and I have just returned home from a brilliant stay at the Nautilux in Rethymnon. We stayed in the split level deluxe room with the private jacuzzi and it was fabulous!! The rooms are very clean, modern, and tech-smart! |We made use of the two pools, the private beach, and spa!|Before arriving to the hotel, I arranged with the staff to decorate the room for my partners birthday, and it was perfect! The staff were great and took care of everything!! |The area itself is beautiful, the old town was a 5 minute drive or a 30 minute walk, however there are lots of bars/restaurants along the way! |We would highly recommend!!

The hotel was beautiful, and I really enjoyed my stay—especially since it’s an adults-only hotel. My room had a private jacuzzi, which was fantastic. However, there were a few things that could’ve been better. When I asked the reception for a room upgrade (and was willing to pay for it), they weren’t helpful, even though the hotel was half empty. It wasn’t about getting a free upgrade; I just wanted to book a higher-class room, but the reception wasn’t accommodating at all. Our first room had a lot of ants, so we had to switch, but the second room was spotless and very nice. Also, at the beach, there’s a button for service, but each time we pressed it, we had to wait around 30 minutes for someone to take our order, which felt too long. A 15-minute wait would’ve been more reasonable. Overall, it’s a lovely place, but there’s room for improvement in service. I would definitely go back if i ever travel to Crete.

We've had a pleasure to stay in Nautilux while attending a wedding in Rethymno for 5 nights. We got super lucky and have received an upgraded maisonette room with jacuzzi on the balcony, which has added a lot to our romantic getaway. The staff is very friendly and helpful. For the price you pay the experience is great as long as you have the nicer room. Our friends got a room in the basement for which the price cannot be justified in my opinion, but other than that we were extremely pleased to stay at Nautilux and would love to come back again in the future

A belated review from July. Absolutely amazing hotel! The staff are incredibly friendly and always go the extra mile to ensure a fantastic experience. The hotel is spotlessly clean, including the terrace and balcony, and the high-quality materials used throughout show no shortcuts were taken. Direct access to the beach is a major plus, unlike many nearby hotels where you have to cross a road. The gourmet dinner buffet is exceptional, easily the best I've had in Europe in years, with a dedicated gluten-free menu available all day. The staff even go out of their way to check the buffet and prepare gluten-free options like pasta and desserts when needed. The only downside is the gym, which is a bit small and doesn't match the high standard of the rest of the hotel. Overall, highly recommended!

Review of Nautilux Hotel||We’re here just now and absolutely loving it! The hotel is absolutely gorgeous, with stunning design and luxurious touches throughout. The beds are so comfortable – I’ve been sleeping like a baby. The pool area and beach are both fantastic, with the best sunbeds ever, complete with thick, plush mattresses. Plenty of towels are provided, which is a nice touch.||Special thanks to Leanna in guest relations – she’s been a pleasure to deal with and has great local knowledge, really helping us make the most of our stay.||Parking is €9 a day, though we’ve been lucky a couple of times finding free spaces outside. It’s a bit of a walk to the Old Town, but taxis are only €6, so it’s easy to get around.||The only tiny negative is that our patio room doesn’t have anywhere to hang or dry clothes, which would be helpful. But overall, we’re having an amazing time and will definitely return!

One of the best parts of the stay was live music every night—particularly Vintage Mode Trio the jazz trio that performed Thursdays. Jazz violin and amazing jazz standards under the stars by the pool. If you didn’t feel like going into town, you could still have a bit of night life! Hotel staff, facility, and amenities all great. Was there 2 weeks, would recommend.

The hotel itself is great. The staff was very welcoming and helpful, food was excellent, the architecture and design very coherent and timeless. A thing I would think of is: heated pool (they are not). And we got very small room with a balcony just right under AC units outside, so it was very noisy at night, we couldn’t sleep with our door open despite very cool temperature outside - we and up using AC which gave me sinus infection, and mussel pain.
