Wow what an incredible experience! If you like very good quality bourbon, whiskey and even tequila this is the place you want to go to! Imagine being able to taste Bourbon that dates back to the 1960s. There's a wide variety of old dusties that are absolutely amazing at reasonable prices

What a great experience! I was very impressed by the selection, the interior, the service, and the prices. A bartender recommended a Four Roses from the 1980’s that was outstanding in every way. I also loved to see the bottle from the 1940’s. It made me wish I could buy a shot of it for my late father, who was born in the 1940’s. He would have loved this place. It’s everything that’s great about Louisville and bourbon culture. I will be back soon!

I've been to Neat a couple of times. Both times my service was quick and friendly. Unique drink selection for a middleground budget. A great lounging area for a satisfactory classy experience. I will be back again.

Best bourbon in Bardstown! What I love is the fact they offer drinks other than bourbon. Made the best dirt martini. The atmosphere is great. They have couches that you can sit on and communicate. The decor is fabulous. The owners are so friendly. Can’t beat it!

Our wonderful bartender, Amanda, was very knowledgeable in all things bourbon. We trusted her suggestions on vintage bourbons and they were all great. She definitely gave a class to us and we thoroughly enjoyed her company. 1991 Blantons, 1971 Old Fitz, Rebecca, Wild Turkey 12, The Boot, and Virgin Bourbon were a few of those we enjoyed. We also purchased a few bottles next door based on her suggestions. We look forward to our next visit. Bourbon Underground South Mississippi.

We found this gem looking for a cigar lounge to relax. OH MY DEAR GOD how is this place not just packed to the gills with people. A large variety and eclectic bourbon. Friendly staff. You can buy hard to find bottles at damn near MSRP. Of this isn't on your list of to see places your missing out. We had a bourbon from 1940 and it was fantastic.

Overall, it's a great bourbon bar. The space is well decorated and is quiet, which allows for conversation.

Love this cocktail bar! The mixologist was very nice and friendly. Old fashion was amazing…super well balanced. Good vibes. Plus they have vintage bourbon to try or buy back from the store next door!

If you love bourbon and want to try some rare pours for favorable prices, this is a phenomenal place to go. Neat is not only a favorite place for us to take visitors, my wife and I also will pop in for a glass before a date night. This latest time, we were with some of my best friends who I met in Lexington and now live in Nashville. The husband loves bourbon, but the wife does not. She's more into wines, seltzers, and the occasional cocktail. Luckily there are options for every palette. I got the Sunny Glen for my first pour, which had a nice bite to it. I'm a huge bourbon enthusiast, so when I come here, I always try to get something new. I had never heard of this label, but it was so cool to get a pour of a 1989 bourbon that was only $16! My second was a Blanton's Takara Red that was only $15. There are not many places you can get a pour of Blantons for that price, and here you have options! They also have plenty of bottles for sale that you can check out. Whether you are a bourbon expert, curious with questions, or anything but...there's something here for you. The bartenders are knowledgeable and patient with customers who come armed with questions. This should be on anyone's short list if you're in Louisville for a weekend. It's also located right on Bardstown Road in the iconic Highlands. Could not recommend this place enough.

This spot is like biting into a piece of decadent dark chocolate. It's sexy and dark in the best ways possible. The atmosphere alone is something to marvel at, they have vintage bourbon themed decor along with plush chairs, leather couches, and intricate carpets.

Giving 2 stars for cleanliness and selection. The bar tenders were some of the rudest I've ever encountered. There were 3 working tonight when we came in. Two of them acted like it was a chore that others existed let alone were patrons. I'm so bummed as we drove far to come here and we are from the west coast. Follow up: the GM contacted me and we discussed the incidents in detail. He was kind, professional, and diligent.

Neat is a fantastic cocktail bar and one I wish I had near me. I absolutely loved the low-key, chill vibes. It's dark, warm, and cozy with a great playlist and friendly service. We all loved our drinks. I got the Campfire Epiphany (bourbon, rum, passion fruit, lime, barolo, Scotch) because it had passion fruit, which I don't often see in bourbon drinks. Regretfully, I did not have room for another cocktail, but I'm excited to return on my next Louisville trip.

Good drinks, great ambiance. But the bartender was the rudest I've ever met. It was 2/25/25 at 6:30 pm. It was my gf's birthday. He was amazingly rude to us to the point we were commenting on it and purposefully moved away from him. I asked what butter washed rye was and he said "It's rye that's washed with butter". We were literally the only people in the bar, you don't have a second to explain butter washing?? Good venue, massive jerk at the bar. It was my gfs birthday and she insisted we leave bc of the bartender. Would not recommend Edit: The owner responded and was kind... I will give it another chance and update.

This place is a must stop for any whiskey/ bourbon fan visiting Louisville. So much fun and nice service. Prices are good and there are a ton of options you won't see everywhere. Bartender was very helpful and gave a lot of suggestions for things to do around town. Interior is very nice and cosy. They have bottle shop next door as well

I have been to Neat multiple times. Their offerings for bourbon and cocktails never disappoint. The bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable and I have a great experience every time I darken the doors.

If you are serious about your bourbon, like a true bourbon nerd then you need to come here. What an awesome collection and some amazing old dusty. Well priced and they have things you will never see again. Please don't be the guy or gal that walks in and orders a Four Roses, which happened while we were they and not look at the menu or at least what's right in your face. This place is a gem. But don't tell everyone

This was a cool place to check out: Great drinks, a fun place to try different bourbons, and a chance to see some rare bourbons as well. They had a few cocktails made without bourbon as well (gin, tequila, etc.) for those that want to stick to clear liquors. Cool vibes that would be fun on a date night.

What a special experience. Neat. Bourbon bar is exceptional. The ambience is everything you would expect in an exceptional bourbon bar with tons of selections and educated and courteous staff willing to make wonderful recommendations. A destination for bourbon enthusiast. If you enjoy bourbon, and you're anywhere near Louisville, you owe it to yourself to get to Bardstown and check it out.

Popped in here for a night cap after a family dinner. The menu will satisfy anyone. I loved the atmosphere, awesome for an intimate group setting. There were a lot of people but the staff was fast and attentive.

What a cool spot! Tried the Ancient Age 1977 bourbon last night and I can honestly say you can't get a selection like this anywhere else! The owner Owen has the best collection of whiskey and is super personable with customers. Will was a great bartender and made me feel welcomed when I walked in the door! Best bourbon bar in Kentucky as far as I'm concerned. Cheers!

Cute place to grab a drink or two!!! Street parking was easy. Plenty of room at the bar. Two separate areas for seating looked cozy- some with low sofa chairs and tables, other side more traditional. Three people behind the bar helping to get us situated with waters and cocktails. Every little detail was fun- including the water carafe. Just gorgeous. Lots of bourbon on display including some closed cases that had expensive stuff like Pappy. Perfectly sized cocktail menu, many things I would enjoy. I opted for a "bourbon drop" which is basically a whiskey sour. I wished for egg white; they did not have it. A friend had the "Kentucky breakfast" which came with bacon and my date had the Looavul. All crafted right before us and fairly quickly. The bar had small hooks for your purse and the seat backs were well enough to hold our jackets. Perfection. Reasonably priced cocktails and excellent service. We will be back! I would return

Wow. I really don't have enough great things to say about Neat. It's been open since January and absolutely cannot be missed! The selection is huge and Court, the bartender, as absolutely amazing with the recommendations. He seemed to be having as much fun helping us decide what "dusties" to try as we did tasting them! If cocktails are more your speed, absolutely go for the Raspberry Yum Yum. Oh man, it was so so good. Neat also has a courtyard attached the the bar to rent airbnbs - how much cooler can a trip to Louisville get?! Seriously, Neat was the highlight of our trip. Loved every second of it.

If you are looking for some incredible pours of some fine and unique hooch...look no further. A beautiful array of old dusties and current favs are available for consumption at reasonable prices. There is a definite dark and eerie "Shining Bar" feel w/ shades of Peaky Blinders Garrison vibes. The well thought out vintage and nostalgic decor tie the whole bar together and is well designed. I was able to grab a few vintage pours on an unassuming Monday night and ended up in some great conversation w/ one of the owners, a couple of out of towners and the local folk as well. Rad times at this Highlands gem.

Yes please! Do you enjoy a good to great bourbon served in a comfortable well appointed environment be it with a few friends or a client from work? Well you found that place. Me and a few friends decided to check out Neat and found quite a few familiar faces! and few of them not even bottles of bourbon We had Old fashions ( make sure you request a a brand I suggest Old forester, or eagle rare if your feeling fancy) but the house is Benchmark judge not harshly for I'm told it will be changed.) Regardless of your poison, Neat is a great environment to take it and wonderful staff that provide it. Great selection of most any whisky I can conceive of decent and obscure. Atmosphere 5 star Service 3.5 Price $$$

This place has a great bourbon selection including some really nice dustys. We grabbed a few seats at the bar. Vines were on point. They sell bottles but didn't have anything interesting in my price range. Cocktails were well balanced. Bourbon prices were normal to high. Bartender was friendly. Would go back.

Came to this bar with friends from out of town who wanted to check it out. I am more of a cocktail girl so I tried the Paloma which was incredible! The atmosphere and music were really nice and we had a really great time here. Will definitely come back!

What a cool and unique space. You truly feel like you've stepped back into time, in the 1920s or so! Rich velvet curtains and great pours.

We love stopping into Neat when we are in town. You never know what vintage pours will be available. We always stop to see what they have because they have pours you can't get them anywhere else. We have tried many vintage pours from Neat and it is always a fun stop in the. Bourbon Trail.

To finish off a night out, my better half and I decided to grab a nightcap. I searched for cocktail bars, and of the options near us, Neat looked the most enticing. My first impression was positive as they have a parking lot (very nice for being off Bardstown Rd). We walked around to the bar itself and I immediately loved the cozy but sophisticated vibe. We both stepped right up for an Old Fashioned, and the bartender poured us a generous shot of bourbon over a perfect cube of ice, then garnished the drink with a cherry and a twist of orange. The place was full but not overcrowded, and we were able to snag seating in some comfy chairs. We sipped our drinks and admired some of the decor (I was intrigued by the lamp next to us that looked like an old lawn jockey and had "Old Taylor" written on the base). In the background I also got mesmerized by a video playing on a loop of an astronaut treading water in a glittery pink ocean with a sky full of stars above. We popped into the bottle shop on our way out, and I loved seeing the beautiful selection of old vintage bottles and labels, many of them in mint condition. Overall Neat was a perfect way to end our night out.

We were staying at an Airbnb nearby and wanted to grab a drink since it was still pretty early in the evening. This bar was far enough from the "main" bar street so we were pleasantly surprised at the lower noise level. We ordered the once pecan a time (twice!) and the bungalou before calling it a night. Our drinks came out quickly (it was a weekday night) and the seating was spaced out. It was exactly what we were looking for in a bourbon bar.

Nice area, great inside we're here from out of town have my 4 month old son granted I am not drinking but my husband wanted to stop inside while we wait for a dinner reservation elsewhere. It's January, cold just trying to find a warm place to relax while we wait. After sitting for a few minutes i was then told that I was unable to have my son, who was sleeping in the establishment due to the rule, no one under the age of 21. Understandable as this is a bourbon / cocktail bar but for an establishment being listed as "women owned," it was highly distasteful, there wasn't anything listed on the website or the posting on yelp. Didn't think anything of it as no other establishment had any issues - it was 530/6PM, There was barely anyone in there unfortunately will not be returning.

Bottle shop guy was surprisingly not knowledgeable for selling $500 bottles of vintage bourbon but bartender next door more than made up for it.

Finally got a chance to check out Neat this past weekend and really enjoyed it! My boyfriend got the King's Court and I tried the Once Pecan a Time. Both were delicious, especially the King's Court. If you're new to bourbon either drink would be good choices. Only giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because service was kind of slow and the seating was very limited. It was extremely busy on a Saturday night.

Showed up to Neat on a Friday night whilst looking for a bourbon bar that we could sample the local offerings in Louisville. The selection here was perfect and there is definitely something for everyone. Obviously based on their namesake, where they shine is serving whiskey the way God drinks it - neat. If you are looking for some older bottles chances are they might have it. They had Wild Turkeys going back to the '90s and '80s. They have your full assortment of tater juice - blantons, weller, BTAC, pappys if you're into that kind of thing. But what really made me enjoy is the amazing bartenders there that helped steer my palate through a variety of selections instead of just your average bourbon or hype pour. Not only this but they were great people to talk to while sipping a drink. They also have cocktails that were very solid and were a great deal. Highly recommend anyone in the Highlands to stop by Neat. It was so good we came back the next night for a few more pours.

This is must stop for anyone visiting Louisville Kentucky. The selection is huge, staff is awesome, and the prices are good! They even have a small bottle shop where you can pick up a bottle of some of the things you've tried.

It was Valentine's Day and we had missed our downtown fancy steakhouse reservation, so a cocktail was in order and we were in the Highlands. I had been wanting to check this place out and it just came to mind, we were down the block so off we went. I had no idea what to expect. As soon as we walked in, I was blown away by the beautiful woodsy decor and the upscale vibe. Is this Louisville, Kentucky still? I felt like I was somewhere very cosmopolitan like NYC or Atlanta. I'm actually not a bourbon drinker but I am willing to learn. As I was checking out the place, I saw a really good looking couple drinking a little martini glass of something that looked appealing. I asked the bartender- who has a sexy Australian accent- what was this couple drinking, please? When she told me it was an espresso martini with bourbon, I said yes yes yes! Later, I noticed this delicious, rather strong drink was not on the menu. It turned out to be one of the VERY best cocktails I've ever had. This says a lot considering I've been imbibing my way through life. We settled down in a beautiful little couch area as people trickled in throughout the evening, it was quite lovely. I cannot wait to go back!

My wife came here for an after-dinner drink. We both ordered a couple of drinks. The bartender offered a couple of recommendations. I got a paper plane which was incredible. If there is a bourbon or whiskey out there, this place has it.

Great little bar and hard working bar tenders. They make a number of cocktails or if you would like you can have a neat pour of a vintage or allocated whiskey. If you're in search of trying one of the different Blantons releases they pretty much have them all. Also there is plenty of seating. One unique opportunity offered here is the bottles for sale. To the left of the bar are two cases with hard to find allocated whiskies as well as a number of vintage whiskies, however the price point is very high.

Such a lovely place to get a nice pour of some "dusty" bourbons! When I found this place on Instagram, I figured it would be pretty pricy given how old some of the bourbons are. When I finally got to visit, I saw how affordable each pour was! ranging from an average of $10-$60, this is a great spot to try some delicious and old bourbons. The staff is super friendly and the service is great! I even had the pleasure of meeting Owen, one of the owners, one of the nights I was there. He is very knowledgeable and passionate towards bourbon, so if you ever run into him there, be prepared to talk some serious bourbon!

Service, ambiance and sheer knowledge of the craft and appreciation of the bourbon they serve there. My first visited I was greeted at the door and told that it was the best bourbon bar in Louisville. I chuckled and replied," yeah everyone in town says their place is the best bourbon spot in town". They have definitely captured my attention and loyalty. They have the dustiest bottles in town. Prefire Heaven Hill among others. A definite must on your stop in the heart of Bourbon Country.

Neat is located in a perfect locations on bardstown road, accessible to other nearby restaurants and bars. I wish I would have taken photos. The atmosphere was stylish and cozy with vintage-inspired decor. Love. The staff were friendly and provided me a water immediately as I waited for a friend and decided on my order. They don't offer food, as they focus more on their bourbon selections and cocktails. I had the kings court and it was delicious. It reminded me of a paper plane in a way but a little bit sweeter. Met some friends here and it was a great start to our evening. I'd like to come back and try their bourbon selection. Great place to get a night cap!

Excellent upscale, speakeasy type spot that serves great drinks. Service could be a tad bit more attentive but was well intentioned. Drinks are great at any level, definitely something for everyone. Extensive bourbon collection, if you can't find something here, you should just get a new liquor to drink. Great seating at the bar and couches around as well.

Great little spot for bourbon drinkers or any kind of drinker! They have a full bar of liquors, wine and some limited beers. The feel is upscale but also super laid back. You could go for a special occasion or just meet up with friends after work. Service is friendly and fast. Looks like there is an outdoor area up top but not sure how to get there. I'll have to venture around more on my next trip.

Welp... if I based my visit on the bourbon selection alone they would have received 5 stars no problem. They have lots of allocated bourbon and other bourbons no longer in production! The first bartender an African American male was extremely nice and greeted me. I left to go wash my hands and when I returned he was in the supply room. I returned from washing my hands and sat up at the bar for five minutes and the other male and the female behind the bar never greeted me to take my order so I left but they literally were by me several times. The other guy restocked the square ice cubes right in front of me and the lady made a drink - I could have touched both of them. Based on the reviews I am going to assume that is not the norm but... so. Not Cool.

Great spot! Cool to grab a few old school drinks and current day drink and compare. The selections can get a bit overwhelming hence why the bartenders are really important here. They really know their stuff - ask them what you are looking for and i bet they have it

This is another hidden gem in Louisville. We planned a Kentucky Bourbon Trail trip and visited Neat for happy hour. Owen was very welcoming as well as his staff, Kingsley & Craig. They had a wonderful selection of vintage bourbons and the pours were very reasonably priced. We also ordered two of their signature cocktails, the Louisville Mule & Bourbon Drop.

Bartender was extremely nice when I walked in period I would not recommend buying bottles here, because they're overpriced. But I Would recommend coming here and buying a drink.!

We were in town exploring some of the local distilleries and Neat was recommended as solid spot to enjoy a good pour for a reasonable price. We stopped in to find a dimly lit bar with an exceptional selection of bourbon. They offered just about anything you wanted and the prices were not tourist pricing. They had a decent selection of cocktails as well. We enjoyed a few pours and a few cocktails. Everything was exceptional. We really enjoyed our visit. Highly recommend.

As someone who has seen a hundred whiskey bars across the country, this one stands out as one of my favorite. You can take a seat in a speakeasy vibe that is dimly lit and drink a piece of history for about $15.

We stopped in at the bottleshop and talked with the GM for a good bit and had some special pours. They have a really great selection hard to find and rare bottles. We then went in the cocktail bar which is attached to the shop and had a few cocktails. We end up buying a reasonably priced Blantons Gold label. Defintely recommend this place and will stop in next time in town.
