Google
The BEST 100% gluten free cafe. It’s so hard feeling safe going out to eat as someone with celiac disease, and this place absolutely delivers on the safety aspects as well as killing it with their food! They have the BEST gluten free croissants I have ever had (I maybe ordered one…and then another to go). SO GOOD!! Cannot recommend enough!

Florence Nault

Google
I only had the cinnamon roll- which looked fantastically fluffy and full of flavor… and it was overwhelmingly disappointing. It had the taste of uncooked bread and was so solid that my knife could hardly cut through it without making a loud clunking sound when it finally went through. Hopefully their other pastries are more promising.

Google
Croissants. Real. Croissants. If that wasn't enough of a review, I'll try again... CHOCOLATE croissants. Real, soft, layered, buttery, giant, warm, fresh, chocolate croissants. The kind that will spike your blood sugar and happy hormones over the edge. I've so far, over two visits, have also tried two of their quiches, their "hostess cupcake," and their cinnamon roll. Their pastry case is where life begins. Go, eat, get a little chubbier, and be blissfully ignorant of what gluten is. This is a 100% dedicated gluten free bakery and you'll not have to worry about cross-contamination here. Many of their items are also lactose free. They have an outdoor patio with seating that is ramp accessible.

Google
Hands down, the best gluten-free croissant I’ve ever had in my life—and I’ve tried more than I can count! I drove 20 minutes out of my way just to get here, and it was worth every drop of gas and every extra minute on the road. The croissant was flaky, buttery, perfectly golden, and honestly so good I was speechless. I called ahead to ask if they had any left, and they were kind enough to save me the last one of the day. That extra level of service paired with such incredible quality? Chef’s kiss. I’ll definitely be back—and next time, I’m grabbing a few more!

Google
A 100% gluten-free cafe!!! The food is amazing! The service is top-notch! Natasha went above and beyond! She really impressed me, which is not easy to do! The atmosphere is very comfortable and relaxed! Easy parking. Clean. I will definitely return many times! Thank you for such an incredible experience! The breakfast sandwich with turkey sausage on a brioche bun was the best breakfast sandwich I'd ever had! 😍 I also had the orange sea moss Creamsicle smoothie (with collagen added) and orange blueberry scone! I am very impressed by everything!

Google
I love this place so much! After having to go gluten free recently due to health issues, it’s been really hard finding a place where I can eat out and be at ease. Everything here is gluten free, but doesn’t taste like it! The gluten free croissants are the real stars though. Croissants are notoriously difficult to make, and even harder when gluten free. These are the only GF croissants in Southern California (I’ve searched far and wide), and they are really good too. I’m a croissant snob and these are buttery, flaky and airy, though denser than regular croissants. Consider me a lifelong customer, just for this! Got the breakfast sandwich and the bread was awesome (like a savory biscuit). I tried the cinnamon roll too, but I would not recommend it. It was rock hard and gave me stomach upset. But still, 5/5 for this restaurant for all the other magic they work!

Google
A must visit if you’re gluten free! The best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had. Coffee was perfection. And the chocolate croissant was unbelievable

Kendall Whitbeck

Google
prosciutto and fig sandwich was good in flavor but the bread was a little tough. The bakehouse breakfast was filling but under seasoned, the jam made up for it though. I liked the variety of health drinks available and wish I had tried a smoothie or butter coffee.

Yelp
Nice local place with friendly staff despite tough crowds :- Food is fresh, healthy and portions are very good. The smoothy was also excellent as well. Great informal spot!

Yelp
You had me a spicy Mayan mocha! Nectarine Grove Cafe is so great! I'm so obsessed with the menu! I came here to meet a friend and ordered the spicy Mayan mocha, which is a butter latte made mushrooms, collagen, and so many wonderful things to support brain function. I loved my coffee so much, I came back 2 more times while I was in Del Mar. On my third visit, I ordered breakfast which I was excited to try. Nectarine Grove is so mindful of different diets. We ordered a cinnamon roll, salmon toast, donuts, and kid's breakfast (bacon, eggs, a small fruit cup, and egg muffin). I recommend getting the cinnamon roll warmed with frosting on top. It's a little hard at room temperature. The salmon toast was delish! Lots of salmon which was so fresh! The donuts were made in avocado oil. The healthier donuts I have tried which were great! Staff was kind too!

Yelp
Nectarine Grove is an absolute standout--everything on the menu is 100% gluten-free and incredibly delicious. From their fresh bowls and satisfying sandwiches to wraps and baked goods, every item is thoughtfully made and bursting with flavor. You'd never guess it's all gluten-free--because nothing feels like a compromise. And then there's Angela. She's kind, considerate, and genuinely cares about the people she serves. She goes above and beyond to make sure you feel welcomed, comfortable, and taken care of. Her warmth and attention to detail turn a great meal into a meaningful experience. The food at Nectarine Grove fills your body with goodness, but Angela fills the place with heart. A beautiful spot made even better by people like her. Let me know if you'd like to add a personal anecdote or a "Don't miss this dish!" line!

Yelp
I was able to try the chicken salad toast and it was pretty good. I wasn't sure if the dressing was for the side salad or the toast but I felt the chicken salad toast would have had more of a tang if a lemon was squeezed over it. I ended up pouring the dressing over the salad so if it was meant for the toast that could have added the tang because it was a lemony dressing. The toast bread was flavorful, soft so it wasn't hard to bite into. I didn't order the food so not sure how service is but I've driven by it a few times and it's a cute little place tucked on the side of the plaza building on the right.

Yelp
The Bakehouse Breakfast was BAD. Ordered scrambled eggs and they were like two chewy and tasteless patties - the explanation was as ridiculous as the eggs ("we are using small egg pan.."). The sweet potatoes looked like bird food (see picture) and the butter came as small (very) cold cubes that were hard to spread... Oh, have a mentioned the bacon? Yes, two skinny, soft (!!) and fat pieces of bacon. Maybe the drinks are good - because the breakfast food, is very low quality. Very disappointing

Yelp
Love this place. Especially for the service. The food and drinks never disappoint, but I'm always very focused on customer service when I go to pricey places like this and I must say I've never had a bad experience here and I come very often, a couple days a month. The staff at this particular location is so wonderful. I think the young gentleman who is a manager and consistently there working, is absolutely spectacular. There's nothing like being greeted with a warm smile and there has never been any issues with receiving food or drinks on time which is great, since this place does get busy! I think there was one time where the drinks took a while, but it honestly wasn't that big of a deal, and we weren't in a rush. If you need a quick bite/drink on a weekend, this might not be the place for you. All seating is outdoor, which is good to keep in mind. We love to bring our dog here and get one of the mini sweet treats which are all amazing, especially the cinnamon roll. We also love the breakfast sandwich and the spicy mocha.

Yelp
Nectarine Grove is my favorite place for gluten free treats. Their breakfast is so good as welll. I love their breakfast tacos. The reason I come to this specific location is for their gluten free croissants. I have not been able to find any other gluten free croissants that even come close to living up to these. Every time I'm in this area I have to stop here to grab one.

Yelp
Nectarine Grove's bakery in Del Mar has absolutely delicious gluten free pastries! Their croissants are unbelievably amazing, as are their cinnamon rolls. This location is a cute little cafe with great takeout vibes in a convenient location, I absolutely love popping in for a tasty gluten free treat!

Yelp
WOW. I got the prosciutto and fig sandwich on a croissant and I think it's the best thing I've eaten this year. I'm going to dream about this meal. Highly recommend!

Yelp
We found this cute cafe after eating lunch in the mall. The overall atmosphere was cute and laid back. Sorry to say, it was just another average cafe to me. The place was small and relatively crowded. We found a couple of tables, but they were not clean. The hot drink came out lukewarm. The music was too loud to have conversations. We had some pastries. They looked good in the showcase, but they were pretty stale. The lemon bar had a weird eggy taste, and the cinnamon roll was stale and bitter with too much cinnamon. People who took the order and who made the drink were nice.

Yelp
After brunch and shopping, my MeetUp Fun Diego Ladies and I stopped by for some afternoon tea and coffee. It was a bit warm out, so I ordered the white peach iced tea that came with 1 free refill. Not bad for $4. I enjoyed the mild tea flavor, unsweetened, just how I like it. The cute barista taking our order was very pleasant and helpful in answering our questions about the menu. We enjoyed the coffee and tea here. They have nice big tables outside, but what's missing is a restroom.

Yelp
First, I am here because my daughter-in-law was looking for a gluten-free croissant so we went along for the ride and to spend some time together. Arriving was greeted very warmly by all of the staff and we had our two dachshunds with us. They said it was OK to come to the counter with the dachshunds And they wouldn't be offended, and it looked like all the clientele enjoyed seeing our dachshunds as well. Every person assisting us at the counter for bakery goods drinks or coffees was exceptional and their duties. Love the cinnamon roll, which they warmed up and I had a mocha coffee. We went to a table outside because we had the dock with us and they actually brought our drink and food to us and asked if it was OK to pet our dogs as well. What an amazing and friendly atmosphere and well situated with plenty of tables not just inside but outside as well. Very cute and decorated place and I'll bet you. It is usually packed on the weekend so I'm glad we were here during the week to experience it.

Yelp
I was really excited to try out this spot and love that everything is gluten free with vegan friendly options. The baked goods looked fresh and diverse, my husband loved the quiche. The vanilla latte with coconut milk was delightful and delicious, but I was not a fan of the horse and fruit flies all around the seating areas. I ordered the morning glory bowl which was packed with lots of fresh veggies, but the avocado on top was covered with brown spots which was not edible and eating with the flies around was so unpleasant that I couldn't finish my food because they were so invasive. I think this is a cute local place with great values but there needs to be some sort of attention made towards resolving the fly issue.
google avatar

Kate F.

Yelp
I love that this place is completely gluten free with a wide variety of baked goods and sandwiches. The owner was very friendly and gave some good suggestions. Unfortunately they were out of croissants and I had wanted to try the Fig and Proscuitto Croissant. Artichoke and Goat Cheese Quiche - 5/5 great mix of flavors ; I love goat cheese in anything; it made the dish Cinnamon Roll - 4/5 - it's a bit dense but that tends to happen with gluten free options but it was full of cinnamon and they give a generous serving of icing to go with

Yelp
I came into this café just a few minutes before closing--not realizing the time--and was immediately met with a look of disgust and annoyance from the woman at the register. I paused, unsure where this energy was coming from, and politely asked if they were still open. With the same irritated expression, she replied, "You have two minutes." Despite the time, I was still a paying customer--not someone asking for a free coffee. I simply ordered one drink, which they did make, and I was still prompted to tip. While the coffee itself was excellent--top-tier in terms of flavor and quality--the overall experience left a bad taste. Customer service matters just as much as the product, and unfortunately, this interaction was enough for me to decide I won't be returning or recommending this spot to friends or family.

Yelp
Get what you pay for! The food is fresh and healthy, and overall tasted good. Got a to go order and had a couple of items missing, but the service was good and went back to pick up the missing ones. Would recommend the vegan sandwich! Can be really pricy though
google avatar

Edward F.

Yelp
I've been gluten free for 38 years and I've always dreamed of a GF croissant. Usually gluten free items cost twice as much and taste half as good. This was twice as expensive, but it was way bigger than anything I've ever seen in my life. The taste was incredible! From now on when I want to reward myself, I'm coming here!!!
google avatar

Jack K.

Yelp
Loved this place!! Best gluten free scone I've ever had! I ate the chicken salad sandwich for breakfast and it had legs!!! Really enjoyed it. I also got the prosciutto fig sandwich for later and it was amazing too. If I lived in DelMar area I would eat here all the time. Definitely give this place a try if you are GF and in the area!
google avatar

Ewa H.

Yelp
I love croissants but, until I went to the Nectarine Grove Cafe, I have not had a good one since I was diagnosed with celiac disease and could no longer eat foods with gluten. I had both the regular croissant and the chocolate croissant and both of them were very, very tasty and had the texture and taste of the standard wheat croissants.
google avatar

Shirley F.

Yelp
Nice fresh pastries. They serve breakfast. Service breakfast sandwich s the service is good and quick. Ambience is cute and you can eat on the patio in the fresh air and sun.

Yelp
This is my second time coming here. I love the different types of lattes that they have. I have try the golden milk, the honey latte and now I am trying the chai tea. They use fresh ingredients and everything is from scratch. They bake their own pastries and croissants. My daughter loves coming here. She loves their chocolate croissants. She order and I am just picking up. That is the only way you can get them. Because they sell out very fast. They have sandwiches and avocados toast, and also salads. I saw some eggs plates coming out to the customers. I saw that they also have smoothies and açaí bowls. Different cold pressed juices and more. So sad they are very far from out town. Only when we make the drive to the south. Service is always friendly. It's just the people being smart. (:() and they crowed in front of you. Other wise it was a pleasant visit.
google avatar

Harinder K.

Yelp
This is a small eatery with lots of available tables outside. Order first, take a number, and find a spot - they will bring the food to you. Interesting menu with healthy options. I asked about the chagaccino (caffeinated or not) to be told that the gentleman was from Chile. lol. The chilaquiles were good but the egg was slightly overcooked. The service is friendly.
google avatar

Hansi S.

Yelp
Food was incredible and I'm so appreciative to be able to order gluten, dairy free and vegan right off the menu. Got the Morning Glory Bowl and every bite was savored. Service was taken seriously and approached with passion. Definitely will be sending people here and will be back next time I'm in town.

Elmira Ishmuratova L.

Yelp
Extremely overpriced cafe. I came there 2 times and both times they were out of the majority of their food. We ordered whatever was available and the food didn't even taste good, it was ok. Giving any stars just because it's all gluten free.
google avatar

Farrell B.

Yelp
This place is great if you just want to grab a coffee, tea and treat, or want to slow down and enjoy a delicious breakfast. The mellow vibe of the indoor outdoor ambiance is so refreshing. I typically order anything with sweet potato on the menu so this was easy for me. Took the suggestion of what coffee to try. The girl working the front was so nice and helpful. Can't wait to come back and try other things.
google avatar

Yelp
Another hidden and rare find. It is very hard to impress me with breakfast pastries and items. Most places just get their items from a third party, and these items nearly always taste like an afterthought. Not this place. As I asked the gentleman at the counter about the different muffins and croissants, I could tell by the level of detail that he was going into that these are not run of the mill breakfast items. I typically don't like over 95% of bakery items available at most breakfast or pasty places as they are typically way too sweet for me. I asked the gentleman his opinion, and he went into great detail (there was no one behind me). The ingredients are nearly all organic and locally sourced. I tried the pumpkin muffin, the chocolate banana muffin, and the chocolate croissant. These items were full of natural flavor and had very little added sugar. I can now see why the gentleman spoke with such enthusiasm. Too bad they are not located in Orange County, as I would end up here all the time. As I was leaving, a line started to form. I can definitely see why, and I look forward to my next visit to this rare find. Edit: this is the correct location for my review.

Kirsten K.

Yelp
Took the rare opportunity to head to the beach this morning and got breakfast on my way. I got the Turkey Avo sandwich on a croissant, a blueberry scone and a cinnamon roll. The turkey sandwich was hot and fresh. The croissant was buttery and flaky. The cinnamon roll was hard and dry even after being heated, but I've had them before and they were fantastic, so not knocking a star off. The blueberry scone was the highlight of the haul! Moist, flavorful and a touch of cinnamon in the glaze. Usually scones are dry and crumbly, but not this one!! It's my new favorite thing here!!

Andrew K.

Yelp
First time and last time here. Food took way to long. 20+ minutes into waiting a woman comes out and says they're out of sourdough bread for my daughter's avocado toast. Told them brioche instead. I ordered a turkey and pesto sandwich which comes on sourdough. It arrives on dinky brioche bun and not my sourdough or even mention they didn't have correct bread for sandwich. The sandwich alone was $18.50 which is a total ripoff. Never again
google avatar

Cristhian N.

Yelp
Shout-out to Shannon, Natasha, and Matthew for always being so friendly and welcoming. I love the matcha and chicken salad toast at this location. Thanks for everything.

Gianna G.

Yelp
DO NOT RECOMMEND. horrible experience. wait was too long. ordered food , waited over an hour and a half for a coffee and toast. not to mention the expensive coffee price for the bad service. come here if u have time to waiste.
google avatar

Kris L.

Yelp
The menu is not extensive but they have a nice variety of breakfast, salad, sandwiches, a soup of the day, plus yummy desserts and pastries. We had the fig prosciutto and tripping vegan sandwiches. They were out of croissants so the prosciutto was on a brioche bun but still excellent. The vegan was healthy on a dense yummy sourdough with big slabs of portobello plus avocado, garlic aioli and I think sun dried tomato. We had to try dessert and really liked the magic bar. The brown bottom cake was also good, with a surprisingly light top layer that looked like a chocolate chip cookie but was light and buttery tasting. I will definitely come back and try a few more items.
google avatar

Jules F.

Yelp
We go here twice a week and have been for about 3 years. Is it good? It's phenomenal. Gluten free Mecca with vegan and veg options. We have 2 loaves of their sourdough bread at our house at any given time but spring for English muffins in weekend for the hollandaise. Eating here is delicious, and the treats are next level. My daughter loves the hostess cupcake (okay I do too) but any old cupcake or cinnamon roll or cookie are quite good here. The one thing I don't like is the croissant, go figure. They also serve up local kombucha and healthy add ons. I'm a huge fan!

Tess B.

Yelp
I have Celiac Disease, so it can be hard to find safe places to eat while traveling. When visiting my friend in San Diego, we always come to Nectarine Grove! There are so many safe gluten free options that are DELICIOUS and great portion sizes! The staff at the Del Mar location specifically is super awesome - very knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating!
google avatar

Vivian L.

Yelp
Nectarine Grove has been on my list for a while now, and I'm glad I finally tried it! This location is in the same plaza as Cucina Enoteca, so there is available parking although it can be pretty impacted. It wasn't too busy when I came on a Sunday morning, which was nice. The cashiers were super friendly, although it felt like the service was very slow albeit friendly--think, you're at Trader Joe's in a hurry but they're so friendly to every customer. Since we weren't in a hurry, I didn't mind but just something to keep in mind. The vibes here are very relaxed, SoCal ambiance so it's really not too surprising. We ordered a quiche to share, breakfast tacos, and the breakfast sandwich. Everything here is gluten free so it's great for folks with dietary restrictions, I couldn't tell a difference. Our favorite was definitely the quiche--it was the most special item we ordered and probably the only item I would come back for. The breakfast mains were good as well, but nothing overly exciting and something I feel I could replicate at home for a fraction of the cost. Not sure I would return but I'm glad to have tried it out!

Yelp
This place was #money got the pecan bar, pesto sandwich, and artichoke and goat cheese quiche #coconutcream #money

Amadeo D.

Yelp
Delicious but overpriced. Coffee was average, not great but not terrible. Food served on cute little cutting boards are visually pleasing, but not functional when you are eating toast piled high with toppings that fall all over the place when handling. Tons of GF options, didn't realize that meant everything would be more expensive. We ordered a side of fruit, it was about a half cup of strawberries and blueberries and it cost $4. Kids loved the Chocolate croissants because they were 50% chocolate. They were nice and crispy! My salmon toast was $14 and had maybe 2 oz of fish on 2 thin slices of bread. I'd skip this place unless you have celiac.
google avatar

Blake C.

Yelp
Staff is awesome. I was told that they are there 24/7 due to making all their own bakery goods. They have a coffee latte there with butter in it and maple syrup. I asked for 1/2 the maple syrup because I'm not a fan of drinking maple syrup. The drink came out great.

Alexis H.

Yelp
This place is just awesome. They carry a completely gluten free menu and on top of that, it's DELICIOUS. I cannot wait to return (because I absolutely will be) and to eventually try every single menu item. I ate my prosciutto fig croissant sammy so fast I didn't even get the chance to snap a pic BUT - it was divine
google avatar

Mark C.

Yelp
Tried this place over the weekend and it was very good. My breakfast sandwich was very good but it does have a slightly spicy aioli on it. So, if you hate spicy food, ask for it without. The bacon was really good and crisp, the egg was yummy and the bread was fresh, soft and awesome. I will return!
google avatar

Ron G.

Yelp
That gluten free cinnamon roll- wow Delicious chicken salad on sourdough Prices what you'd expect at a nice gluten free bakery
google avatar

Michelle C.

Yelp
Cute place. Everything is gluten-free. I felt good after eating here. My daughter got the parfait bowl and loved it. She liked the lemon drizzle on it.
google avatar

Lori R.

Yelp
Very pleased I found a new 100% gluten free restaurant to add to my repertoire. I always get overwhelmed with so many choices and it's nice to have a full menu to pick from. The food here is pretty good, they lean heavily on "healthy" so the texture isn't always the best, very dense breads and not enough fats to get the food moist. So this is really selling the healthy aspect rather than making GF foods that taste like their gluteny counter parts. I always enjoy a good breakfast so I ordered the bake house breakfast. The jelly was very good and I enjoyed the meal. Their baked goods were pretty good, but the texture was a little lacking. The staff was very nice, and very patient with some rude customers in front of me. They had service with a smile and was impressed at how they handled the brusk woman in front of me. Good for them. I'll be back, it was nice to sit outside and enjoy some reliable GF meals.

Yelp
"I'm in love with a butter latte" - Susan, upon first sip Oh my goodness! When I travel for work, I try to take the edge off missing my fam by finding fab places to eat. This place popped up as a "gluten free cafe" and I had to try it! It's got so many options for eating: Dairy free, paleo, vegan, gluten free, egg free, and nut free. So many amazing choices! I'm trying the Bakehouse Brekkie, side of avocado, a slice of apple cinnamon coffee cake and a butter latte! My food hasn't come yet and I'm not being very patient. My latte came tho and it's fabulous!!! Edit: food came! It's good. I did order my eggs over easy and they came sunny side up yet still over cooked. That's okay tho, the food is fab, staff is super nice and service is great!

Diana R.

Yelp
You order & pay first from their small cafe then find a table in their outdoor seating area. The gentleman that helped us (possibly the owner or manager) was very nice and personable. The yogurt parfait is simple and delicious and comes in a big bowl with fresh fruit and housemade granola. I ordered the quiche but they forgot to put it in the oven so I had to take it to go cold since we didn't have time to wait for it. The gentleman was very apologetic and offered us a dessert item from their case of yummy looking desserts but I declined. Mistakes happen and the fact that he tried to make it right was all I needed and appreciated. The iced matcha latte was good. The Mayan Mocha was good if you like cinnamon and spices. We'd definitely come back when in the area.

Caroline M.

Yelp
food took 50 minutes to come. asked multiple times to see if it was almost ready and they kept saying yes only a few minutes but that was obviously incorrect. also very understaffed

Linson H.

Yelp
The hot pesto and turkey sandwich and mint chip smoothie were excellent. Definitely on the pricey side, but that's most places nowadays. At least I know that I'm paying for something healthy and tasty here. Service was great as well. The gentleman who took my order was very personable and optimistic. On a more random note, I was a fan of the music playlist that was playing when I visited. Quite a few throwbacks to 2000s pop songs.

Tatiana S.

Yelp
Our new favorite place! I liked everything I have tried there so far! It's healthy and tastes great! So many great drinks too. The only thing I wish they had an option to add deserts for online orders.

Sandy S.

Yelp
I love this place for lunch and eat here a couple times a week! The chicken salad avocado toast is amazing as well as the breakfast tacos. Im sure the other choices are great as well! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. One of the employees named Mathew is the most pleasant employee! He is always in a great mood! He really makes the day brighter! They definitely hire very nice people!
