This is my second time here and tried their charcuterie option along with their spritz du jour. Was a great place to hangout and enjoy.

Google
We love the selection of charcuterie and cheese platters. The house pickles were delicious. Everything we tried was fresh, paired well with our beverages, and all delivered with the nicest staff. Shopped the market after. It's a great relaxing nibbles stop to re-energize.

Google
A nice small shop that has plenty of wine, cheeses, small snacks, and also some simple food. We came here for a quick and small snack. We ordered an Italian salami sandwich and a Bresaola salad. The salad was very refreshing, and the sandwich was good. It's a good place to come and hang out for a bit.

The food, the wine, the music, and decor of Nègociant makes a vibe that is not only unique for the Nob Hill neighborhood but is an absolute delight to experience. We tried the sparkling and rose wines with our sandwiches and they were absolutely amazing. Enjoying our food with the jazz playing in the background made it such a cozy dinner. Nègociant is definitely a must visit in Portland, and I will continue to come back just for that tuna melt alone. Highly recommend!!

Google
Really nice place to hang out and just enjoy a sunny day! The food was good but in my opinion quite pricey. They charge $2 for butter for your bread, was not disclosed until the bill came.

Negotian is the ideal spot for a laid-back Saturday afternoon when all you want to do is unwind with a good glass of wine. The atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious, perfect for those moments when you just want to sit back, sip, and do absolutely nothing. With a fantastic selection of wines and cozy seating, it’s the perfect escape from a busy week. Whether you’re alone or with friends, Negotian provides a calming space to enjoy wine at your own pace.

Google
Negociant is the neighborhood cafe of my dreams. Open all day and through the evening it’s a place to meet friends or hang out on your own. The food is exceptional as are the wine options. We’re so lucky to have Negociant in the neighborhood.

Google
Best gluten free bread and salami sandwich in Portland. The bread is delicious, the sandwich is packed full of meat, greens and cheese, and their selections of wine is always different and refreshing. Highly recommend, especially if you need to grab some extra wine, snacks or GF cookies for home.

Yelp
Absolutely loved our surprise visit to this charming Market and Cafe! The atmosphere is delightfully reminiscent of a European cafe, making it the perfect spot for a cozy gathering. Super friendly staff. We enjoyed a private social, complete with mouthwatering platters of Charcuterie and Le Fromage that were simply divine. The drink selection is fantastic, featuring everything from a refreshing Margarita to a delightful Blackberry Whiskey Smash. Plus, the outdoor seating and private room with a full bar add a special touch to the experience. If you're a fan of wine, beer, and cider, this place is a must-visit! Cheers to great times and delicious bites!

Yelp
Negociant is a fantastic place to catch-up with friends, have a long lunch, and take yourself or others on a date. They offer a wide selection of wine by the glass, meat and cheese plates, and delicious sandwiches and salads. On Wednesdays, they host events centered on showcasing a type of wine or winemaker. There you are able to try wines in a flight or by the glass. I love these events and have discovered some great new wines and learned so much! Additionally, they have a great wine selection with bottle selection from new and old world, traditional and natural, and varied price ranges. The staff recommendations have never led me astray.

Yelp
If you are dreaming of your time in Europe at a cafe where you were eating exceptional food, relaxing, and loving life, you now know where to go in Portland. We had the nicest server. Everything we ordered was fantastic. The smell wafting from inside was mouthwatering. Such a large selection of wines, cheeses, meats, butters, drinks, anything you would want to either purchase and enjoy at home or eat there. There are also menu items so you don't have to do the work, just enjoy! Seating options are one of their indoor tables or outdoor bistro tables.

Yelp
What a cute little spot ! We stopped to have a glass of wine and were thoroughly impressed by the food and service. We sat outside at the patio which is where I saw all the other customers seated as well. They also had plenty of seating inside as well . One of the drawbacks of sitting outside was the constant yelling by some of the unhoused who were hanging out right next to us and at times directly yelled to our faces .I wouldn't say it was particularly unsafe but the proximity did make me be on edge for the entirety of my visit. I got a glass of Bordeaux and the hubby got a pinot noir. We got the two cheese n two meet combo which they let you guide them on your preference . We also had burrata with tomatoes and squash which was just divine . Everything was fresh and delectable and the wine just right for the food. Service was attentive without being too overbearing .

Yelp
This is my favorite spot when I want a delicious cheeseboard, a dozen oysters and a bottle of wine. I like that you can pick your own meats and cheeses out of their case or you can let the staff curate a board for you. We were seated in a cute little corner nook, but their patio seating is also great.

Yelp
We ONLY popped in to grab hydration after being INCREDIBLY thirsty. A gentleman walked up to us and asked if he could help us find anything (my daughter and I,) and he directed us to the sparkling and still water which also had some CBD water, Kombucha etc. But most importantly WATER to hydrate us. I got a Sparkling water plain and a can of Satsuma sparkling water (both unsweetened,) and she got an Aqua Panna. I also got a can of Dram Apothecary Holy Basil & Lemon CBD. (also unsweetened.) I saved the Dram but CHUGGED the waters after we left. The staff was kind and attentive in the short timeframe we were there. I was SUPER surprised that they were so quiet with so few customers for a Saturday night. It is an adorable set up with snacks and non alcohol drinks while at the same time being a wine bar. It IS a deli but I feel that almost demeans the atmosphere and set up. It is classy but not pretentious. It feels very European to me. I'm definitely going to pop in for wine with a friend one night. The location is cute and feels safe and quiet on a weekend night, it's clean and cute with great drinks and service. Also that DRAM was PHENOMENAL!!!

Yelp
Wowzer what a sweet spot for all your wines and goodies!!! Located next to Bar Diane down the street from Ken's Artisan bakery!! All you need to relax and people watch from the outside seating area with plenty of food menu options...Jamon from Spain or even Duck prosciutto!! Amazing meaty oysters and the Italian sandwich options are unreal!! Did I mention an extensive wine list and options? Definitely recommended...Obviously but the welcoming well versed staff take this spot over the top!! Don't sleep on the Wednesday night special rear alley entry way and special flight menu!!
google avatar

Yelp
Light (read: small), simple, tasty sandwiches, overpriced to a level verging on the cynical

Yelp
Super cute cafe! Very European style. Good variety of foods if you're wanting a small cheap snack or something a bit more involved. The service was good. The selection in store: amazing butter like you would find in France, lots of tinned fish and a good meat selection
google avatar

Yelp
This place is great. I'm only giving it a 4 star because they charge a $15 corkage fee for a bottle that you buy in house. WTF?! The 3-cheese plate was fantastic. I'd reconsider going back, but I did enjoy my time there. My $50 giftcard paid for the sparkling rosé and corkage fee.

Yelp
If I were to - in my limited capacity as a mere mortal - design the perfect location within which to dine before seeing a movie at Portland's own Cinema 21, I imagine it would look a LOT like Négociant. This spot is amazing! They have a wonderful variety of drinks, all that you could dream of for the creation of charcuterie boards, a fun and kind staff, AND they are right across the street from one of my favorite theatres. The atmosphere is light and well decorated and they have a variety of books and merchandise for your perusal as you dine. While I did not eat much of their food and cannot speak to its quality, I can tell you this is worth a stop regardless. And while I have spoken ad nauseam regarding Négociant's proximity to Cinema 21, I assure you book lovers that this is a spot worth a stop regardless of the presence of a film on your calendar.

Letty P.

Yelp
I am deeply disappointed by my experience with this establishment. What should have been a pleasant family outing turned into an upsetting and humiliating ordeal. While the food was passable, the behavior of the front-of-house staff was absolutely unacceptable. One of the staff members openly made fun of my disabled daughter, which was not only unprofessional but also deeply hurtful. My daughter deserves respect and kindness, like any other customer dining in this restaurant. Instead, she was mocked in a way no parent should have to witness. This level of insensitivity and poor customer service is beyond comprehension for a business that depends on its patrons for success. I will not be returning to this establishment and cannot recommend it. However, I would like to note that the macarons were my daughter's favorite, so we decided to take them to go. I will be contacting the ADA regarding this unacceptable experience.

Jacquelyn B.

Yelp
Favorite place to spend a saturday or sunday afternoon after some grocery shopping and fresh bread from Ken's. Have never had a bad experience or bad bite. This and Bar Diane have kept my social life consistent on 21st. Now that we have Side Eye too, you can't convince to leave the neighborhood.

Yelp
Négociant offers a nice blend of casual dining with high-quality food and drink, and the servers are truly great. I enjoy the limited indoor seating, with cozy tables, chairs, and plenty of natural light. I've tried to dine here several times, each being very busy (and no tables free). Finally, I was able to come here with an excellent book. My experience aside from food and drink was mixed, mostly since the table directly beside me had very loud (and, in my opinion, inappropriate) conversations, to the point where the other table left as soon as they arrived without finishing their food. The tables are very close together, so, if folks are comfortable, expect to hear conversations. To be fair, there are minimal soft surfaces in the space, which could help add some sound-dampening comforts. My server was awesome, and allowed me to try a few wines by the glass as small tastings ahead of making my decision. The food came very quickly, and I was absolutely full. I wish I could make an interesting potato layer cake at home! They offer weekly wine events on Wednesdays. Though I am going mostly sober this year, I will try to come for this, too.

Yelp
Wonderful spot. Great selection of wines, cheese and all sorts of yum. Everyone who works there is delightful. Lunch is beautiful. One of my fav spots in town.

Yelp
I really love this place. Their beer and wine selection is top notch. It's well curated with the best stuff at different price points. Great place to hang out before a movie at Cinema 21, if you have some time to spare.

Yelp
A nice small shop that has plenty of wine, cheeses, small snacks, and also some simple food. We came here for a quick and small snack. We ordered an Italian salami sandwich and a Bresaola salad. The salad was very refreshing, and the sandwich was good. It's a good place to come and hang out for a bit.

Yelp
I've been looking for this charcuterie board all across America, and finally one that is absolute perfection. Fresh, perfectly sliced ribbons of salami and prosciutto, crisp cucumbers, pickled onions, fresh figs, Marconas, a smear of honey for soft & hard cheese, reminds you of your last trip to France baguette... sighs. A perfectly effervescent glass of Pet-Nat accompanies the board and a similarly impressive little gems salad, gently dressed in buttermilk that contrasts with dried strawberries and poppyseeds for crunch from a sprinkle of bagel seasoning. Simply magic. Tomato soup was rich but light, just right for not quite Fall. Did I mention it's a market? I wish I could take the whole thing with me.

Yelp
What a lovely and unexpected retreat. I stumbled across this place while shopping and found it to be quite charming. It strikes a nice balance between chic and casual. It's a place you could either dress up or dress down. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. I had some white wine and a beet salad for lunch (surprisingly unique and delicious). They have an unpretentious market that also feels upscale, yet casual. Anything from wine to unique treats. Also, the dude serving tables today was FINE AF, And nice. Such a winning combo. I wish Montelupo market pushed themselves more towards this model.

Yelp
Happy to say we've found a new favorite hang out spot in Portland. Super cute deli/market/wine bar with really friendly employees. We stopped by for a glass of wine and had their tin fish plate. You get to choose one of the tin fish from the market and they will plate it with bread, pickles, butter and mustard. Everything was delicious and it made for a really fun experience. Super excited to come back!

Yelp
Ordered: -Tuna Melt -3 Cheese Plate -Baguette with butter -House wine Pro: -GET THE BAGUETTE WITH BUTTER!!! The butter is divine with sea salt bits sprinkled ontop -3 Cheese Platter: We would order this again! The cheese was definitely a nice treat that paired well with our wine. Not your average cheeses you can find at the market -Tuna melt: Really good!! It comes on house rolls so it is more bread lover friendly -House wine was a great price and very good!! Con: -Extra baguette/crackers are at an extra cost -Tuna melt ratio we felt could have had more tuna vs bread (that's just our preference, though)

Yelp
Stumbled on this lovely spot looking for a bit and a beer before a film at Cinema 21. For a wine bar, the beer selection was interesting (in a neighborhood that seems to specialize in mediocre brews). The deli has a cool wall of tinned fish that you can buy takeout or they will plate for you, or you can get cheese and meats. I got a golden beet plate with blue cheese, marcona almonds, and a tasty smattering if mint. Recommended for a chill nosh.

Yelp
I literally just finished writing my review of Bar Diane, the sister restaurant, and had to follow up by popping over here to give my unsolicited opinion of this deli-market amalgam. Negociant is not just the offshoot of Bar Diane; it's a graceful extension into the neighborhood that keeps the show going during daylight hours. The highlights: Are you picking up a bottle of wine, or perhaps a few cans of tinned fish? Welcome. Are you in the mood for a light meal, oysters, or a late day wine sieste? You're still in the right place. Like its counterpart bar, Negociant offers up a streamlined menu of snacks, cheese boards, and sandwiches. You can also pick out a tin of fish from the market that they will serve to you with house milk rolls and pickles. Tinned fish is one of the greatest joys in life (at least in mine), so having this many options to take home or consume on site makes my heart skip. Staff also give the impression that they really enjoy working here. The improveables: Wow, for once I'm having a hard time thinking of anything to critique, so let me make a stretch by saying that I wish that they offered more oyster varieties to take home. That's really it. If you really wanted to, you could make some gripe about prices on market items, but this is a quality place with quality things. As I always say, you.get.what.you.pay.for. I just really love this place so much. It's like a Gen Z Elephants deli (I promise that this is a good thing). Come by on a Wednesday afternoon, when oysters are $2 each, and tuck yourself away by the window so you can live out your best day-off life.
google avatar

Yasaman E.

Yelp
Absolute cutest addition to the area - they have amazing specials such as Wednesday wine tasting night and daily happy hour for oysters!!! They have a great selection of tinned fish, cheeses and appetizers We also had delicious macaroons and pecan pie!
google avatar

Vili V.

Yelp
LOVE LOVE LOVE this charming little place! There need to be more places like this in Portland. You can stop in to pick up tinned fish, cheese, wine and charcuterie, and also have lunch inside or on the patio and watch the passerbys while you sip a fresh cremant and eat deviled eggs. All of the food is super fresh and tasty. The sit-in service is a little confusing, but once you're seated, they take excellent care of you. I always try to make it here when I'm in the neighborhood.
google avatar

Hailee S.

Yelp
My Fiancé and I come in here frequently, and up until now it has been a warm and welcoming place to grab a bite and a glass of wine. That's until this most recent visit. While standing by the cheese/oyster case watching them make an order, we overheard what I assume is their chef(shorter gentleman wearing a hat with a pseudo mustache) making derogatory and offensive remarks about their employees, and the use of their pronouns laughing it off with another employee. Respecting your coworkers isn't difficult, nor is being a decent human being. How you're running a business with someone like this running your kitchens is mind boggling. Food and experience with your servers has been a pleasure for sure, but I will never be back after hearing that.
google avatar

Erin O.

Yelp
What a dream of a place! The food is deceptively 'simple'. For instance, the Basque Cheesecake is the most extraordinary texture - said the waitress "mouth pillow" and she was correct! Actually, every thing here is correct. Come with your most elevated expectations and you will NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!! A gem, hopeful and brilliant and incredibly satisfying. I always leave grateful and happy that sometimes things are SO VERY RIGHT.
google avatar

Carlla N.

Yelp
We stopped by on our way to a movie across the street at 21 Cinema. Did not feel very welcoming at all. We ordered the Turkey & Gruyere, and vegetarian sandwich and the mixed salad. The food was excellent, so I am giving a 3 star only because of that, but personality of staff gets a 1 star. It felt like our hostess did not want us here.
google avatar

Grace M.

Yelp
The Jersey Cole sandwich at Négociant is everything. The first time I had it, I spent the next week dreaming about it and went back again and again! Négociant smokes their own turkey for this sandwich and it might be the best deli turkey I've ever had. I hope they start selling the turkey to go! Enough about the sandwich, Négociant is the perfect addition to the NW neighborhood! With a small but curated dine in menu (burrata, salads, soups, sandwiches) and a unique array of grab and go deli items, plus a wine selection that will blow you away, this place can do no wrong! They set up a few (dog friendly) outdoor tables when the weather is nice. All the staff I've met there have been a joy! I look forward to my continued trips to Négociant!

Laura M.

Yelp
We ordered party platters from Negociant for an event in our home. They were DELICIOUS and the presentation incredible. Edible works of art. The staff was very easy to work with and their platters made our event feel very special. We also added macaroons at the last minute for sweets -- folks raved about how superior the macaroons were, too.
google avatar

Steven M.

Yelp
Finally a great deli and wine shop in NW Portland! This place serves delicious food from a team that truly cares about the food and quality of service. My favorite is the 'Jersey Cole - Pillowy soft bread, sweet and tangy jalapeño jam, and thinly sliced quality meat easily make this one of Portlands best turkey sandwiches.

Yelp
Stopped in to this new spot by the folks at Bar Diane and it's amazing. The from the staff to the food it's going to be a 21st ave staple. Their breakfast options are easy and ideal for a brunch and their bottle selection is unmatched. It's a must visit.
google avatar

Leslie C.

Yelp
The cutest place ever! I came in and got a glass of red and a charcuterie board all to myself. The staff are extremely nice and helpful as well. Will definitely be coming back very soon!

Yelp
Love, love, love!! Just walking in the door makes me smile. It's so cute and charming, and the staff was helpful and pleasant. There is a wonderful selection of wine, cheese, desserts, and gourmet goodies to take home with you, as well as a delicious menu of items for dine-in. This place is perfect!

stacey k.

Yelp
My friend and I went for the Wed bubbles tasting at 6.30. Immediately greeted by a charming guy at the door. It was pretty busy so we were seated back in the corner at a small counter space. That was my mistake. We were served 3 pours and educated by a brilliant and passionate wine guy. The menu is great with lots of small plates to accompany your wines. We ordered olives, pickles, great tinned fish, a kale salad with some amazing dressing and the 3 cheese plate which comes with almonds and honey and other fun additions. But after our food was served is where the service really fell off and thats why only 4 stars. Finally after we finished all of our food and drinks we flagged someone down for another glass of wine. We will go back for their Wed wine tastings but we will sit at a real table next time. I am sure that will improve the experience. These guys know their stuff, the cases and food choices are great. Definitely worth a visit.

Alexis G.

Yelp
EXCELLENT EVERYTHING. Really nice service, quality food, the pistachio cookie is to die for.
google avatar

Betsy R.

Yelp
The staff here is absolutely phenomenal!! Such lovely people who truly believe in what they are selling to the customer. You can tell that they want every individual ti enjoy their experience. The yellow outdoor umbrellas drew me in and I'm so glad they had that affect on me. Beautiful selection of a large array of wine and cheese! I loved my time here.

C W.

Yelp
My friend and I were looking for a lunch spot on a Tuesday. We just walked by Negociant and decided to give it a go. From the moment we walked in, Clarity, the server/host was a welcoming, professional, and knowledgeable. She gave a small tasting of an orange wine and a rose. We loved the orange wine she recommended. We had a bottle, a baguette, a board of cheese and meat, the salmon dip, the Niçoise salad and macrons. Everything was delicious. It was such a wonderful lunch experience. We are excited to come back for other events. Thank you Clarity for the hospitality and depth of knowledge on Italian wines.

Bill M.

Yelp
I really want to like this place, the people are nice, the space is lovely, the wine and liqour choices are wonderful, however the food is just not quite there. Lots of good intentions, but for the prices, somehow it just doesn't follow through. I keep hoping, and will no doubt stop by again in the future.

Rachel F.

Yelp
I stumbled upon this place while in NW and decided to sit down for their half price oysters. The wine, oysters, and other items we ordered were very good. The staff was great. Overall it was an enjoyable experience.

J M.

Yelp
stopped in to see if they had gluten free desserts and was pleasantly surprised to find that they had several! we tried the cheesecake, chocolate chip cookie and macarons. all were deeeeelicious and none had that funky gluten-free aftertaste. also really liked the ambiance and terrific, friendly service. will definitely be going back for a sandwich/ snacks in the future!

Sam A.

Yelp
If I could rate this less than one star, I would absolutely do so without hesitation. This restaurant is SO unwelcoming and full of hatred. I feel extremely targeted and because of them, my food experience was tarnished beyond recovery. I will NEVER, come back to a place that has a sticker that says "Human Sellers" like wtf does that mean? Like in the basement "Godfather" or the the show "You" vibes. No thanks. Would rather choke on my dogs....

Fatima S.

Yelp
Very cozy and cute spot! I ordered the tuna melt on a baguette and it was sooo good! Paired with a glass of wine, you def can't go wrong. The staff is also very friendly! Highly recommend for lunch or drinks with friends. Will be back soon!

Daniel C.

Yelp
Stopped here for a quick bite with no expectations as a hungry out of towner and blown away by the quality of the food and ingredients. Service was excellent and everything so fresh. Would definitely come back

Lucy R.

Yelp
Staff is super friendly and food is delicious! I loved the pickle plate and the oysters.

Oliver F.

Yelp
This place is so great that it's prompting me to write my first ever review. The service was the best I've ever had in PDX and I've lived here for 15 years. The food was on point as well. I had a salad that was perfectly prepared. I will definitely be coming back and would give it 10 stars if I could. So great to come to a place where the staff truly cares about the food they make and the service they provide. Very refreshing.

B G.

Yelp
Just loved this place. We stopped by twice during a recent stay in Portland. We had a chicken sandwich on delicious baguette, ham sandwich, along with great pastries. Great quality of ingredients and a lovely staff. I miss it already.
