Yelp
Brooklyn here / Dallas transplants. Nestled just to the north-eastern quadrant of Bishop Arts on W Davis is a sparkling hope of what a wine bar should be: Neighborhood Cellar. Think "friendlyness of Cheers" meets "Upper East Side, Manhattan wine bar" meets "Tuscan winery" but without the pretention and tourists. This has become our new home away from home. One of the most knowledgable people of wine that I've ever met, Ian, runs this place with his wife Lindsey and two business partners, Nick and Lauren. All of whom are equally friendly, if not family-like. I've never been to a wine bar this addicting, and while there is no food menu, Ian et al gladly allow order-in of any restaurant that's willing to drop you off your favorite plate. You can easily crack a really nice bottle of wine from the $18-$30 range, but always be confident you are getting a quality product. That's not to say you can't drop $250+ on a nice bottle, but it's not quite the environment where the aspiring Kardashians and Lil' Waynes are looking to be seen, although, that would be a fun sight to see. The crowd here is eclectic and from all walks of life. Easily meet somebody visiting for the weekend from Montana, a local from the neighborhood, or even the next Anthony Bourdain. My wife and I love this place. Highly recommend.
