The service was unbelievably horrible. The barista at the register was unwelcoming and made no effort to improve the interaction. I paid with cash and was not informed that the total would be rounded up—there was no signage or explanation beforehand. My cash was taken, and I was not given my change back because I was told the amount was “rounded up.” When I asked to switch to card so I could receive my proper change she placed the cash on the counter. Additionally, when I asked the price of a ham croissant, it was silently placed on the screen instead of being communicated, which felt dismissive. Despite this experience, I was still prompted to leave a tip 😂. I will not be coming back. The hotel lobby itself is beautiful.

Okay so this is going to be harsh, but I’ve had so many issues with this cafe, despite being a regular customer for over a year. I often run from my home to Brooklyn bridge park and wander in for a coffee afterwards or will frequently work from this coffee shop for a change of scenery. While it’s always been a bit overpriced, in the last 4-5 months, the quality of both coffee and baked goods has steeply declined and the barista staff isn’t particularly helpful either. I love bluestone coffee, which is why I used to come here so often, but lately, the lattes feel poorly made (over poured espresso leaving a sour taste + too much milk + not enough ice). The croissants are often too oily or too dry. On my last two trips, I was double charged. For the first one, I tapped my Apple Pay and was told it didn’t go through so I should try it again. I flagged that my credit card showed it HAD in fact gone through and the barista told me it wasn’t showing on her end and the pending charge would fall off in a couple days. Fine. So I tap again and lo and behold, many days later, it actually doesn’t fall off so I end up paying $20 for an iced latte (it comes out to $10 for one if you get oat milk). I try to go through the right channels to have it refunded several days later and luckily, customer service was pretty helpful about it. Fast forward to a couple more weeks and the EXACT same thing happens. I tap a physical card this time and I’m told the system “didn’t catch it” so I need to tap again. I tell the barista that I paid twice for the same coffee a few weeks backs and I’m not convinced the charge will just fall off in a few days. The barista then responds “maybe you should complain to management about it then. It happens all the time.” I paid with cash and called it a day but I’m very weirded out by this operation. They’re already a bit tourist trappy with their prices and there are plenty of very good coffee shops in the vicinity so I would recommend avoiding them entirely or just paying cash. They’re clearly trying to scam foreign travelers who have little recourse for multiple charges.

The ambiance is beautiful. The cappuccino was adequate. The bottled juice was delightful and water was cold and crisp. That's where the praise stops. The barista was short, curt and matter of fact. When I asked about water, she pointed to two bottles in ice without a price indicated. I didn't think much of it. Any reasonable price, even high in a hotel would be acceptable given the need. I ordered a cappuccino & a plain uncrusted croissant. Two bottles of water, one small bottle of juice and aforementioned items amounted to $52.07. Seriously. 5 items. $52.07. I cannot stress enough how that is absolutely bonkers insane. Nothing I ate was worth that price. Was this place chic? Yes. Was it relatively relaxing? Yes Were the food / beverages Tasty? Sure Was it worth it? Absolutely Not.

Beautiful place inside a luxury hotel but their matcha latte was so milky that i couldn't feel a proper matcha taste. Also it felt like they added some sweetener or the milk was sweat, which I did not ask for. The croissant was good though. The place is on expensive side. If you want to hang out for a while, grab a drink and sit with it in the spacious lobby, which has such a nice eco vibe.

A great place to get away from the busy city and enjoy a cup of coffee. Beautiful atmosphere. Make sure to get the Nutella banana bread- I ate it before I got a pic but it was a huge slice and probably the best banana bread I’ve ever had.

Beautiful cafe. Natural vibe. Spacious design with beautiful view. Has nice outdoor seating. Open until late. Very friendly service. Selling Bushwick tea. A little pricey but very fresh & good. Cafe is on first floor of the 1 Hotel. There is also a side entrance on the side of the building.

It's located inside the hotel. I liked the inside decoration but I didn't like that my latte was served in a tall mug. They brought over the latte to our table.

How about no stars. You are rude simply rude..👎🏽👎🏽 The owner clearly does not read the reviews if so changes would have been made.. What happened to customer satisfaction? This world is completely changing...

Food: While I cant comment on the food itself as i did not order any, I did like my coffee and found it to be strong, flavorful, and fairly priced relative to other places I have been to recently. Service: The staff were thoughtful and professional, delivering my coffee to me at my table without any delay. Ambiance: Very well designed with floor to ceiling glass panels, lots of natural light, and strong, beautiful marble and wood tables to work on. There is a shared workspace with floor outlets available as well. The star of the show is of course its proximity to the promenade, which is probably the best view of the city you'll find in Brooklyn, maybe anywhere for that matter. My only criticism is that the chairs in the shared work space were a little uncomfortable, but I suppose its hard to find a cafe anywhere these days that doesn't require a certain degree of turnover to maintain business. Overall this place is a hidden gem that really exceeded my expectations and I would gladly recommend it to anyone looking to get work done at a cafe that happens to be a short walk away from the promenade.

Coffee shop is off lobby of hotel we were staying at for a few days. Service for walk up customers extremely slow. I saw multiple groups of people over two days just give up and leave. On today's visit both the person in front of me and myself told them to skip the cappuccino we were waiting on and just give us black coffee instead. It seems baristas also working on tickets from attached restaurant so tickets backed up. Poor organization and staffing. Friendliness of staff hit or miss, some friendly, some sullen but all harried and rushed.

The pastries were dry and bland, and the grab and go items were all poorly made. Most customers were hotel guests paying with credit (so were we), so they don't seem to care about the quality...

I decided to stop by Neighbors because it was conveniently located next to the 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge lobby. The first thing to catch my eye was the pastry section! They had croissants, chocolate croissants, almond croissants, and scones! All looked very light and fluffy. However when I got my chocolate croissant, the inside only had a few chocolate chips and were all on the bottom layer. For $5-$6 a croissant, I was expecting more chocolate. It was mostly a plain croissant and I felt Starbucks does a better job. As I waited in line, I saw they also sold bottled juices and fresh fruit. They were about $3 each for a banana, orange, etc. The Cafe Au Lait was mediocre and was $7.18 plus tax. I feel there are better options in the area given the price range.

I acknowledge that the clientele frequenting this cafe may have a certain sense of entitlement, but I must say that the service I received here was simply unacceptable. The staff appeared disinterested in assisting me even before I had the chance to interact with them. It took an exceedingly long time to receive my food, leading me to suspect that my order had been forgotten, as two different individuals inquired why I was still waiting. While I understand the challenges of the service industry, I had expected a slightly more pleasant experience at Neighbors, considering they likely offer better compensation compared to your average coffee shop. A typical coffee shop would have been a preferable choice given the subpar encounter I had at Neighbors. Walk to % Arabica

Suuuuper expensive, probably because gratuity is built into the bill... The kind of gimmicky stuff that you should actually expect from fancy hotel cafes. I hope that the patrons here are mostly (if not all) hotel guests because if not, it is definitely not worth a visit. For a hotel guest, it's convenience, luxury. But the menu is quite vanilla and nothing particularly special. Got 2 drinks and the smoked salmon platter, which totaled $39. They didn't even have any bagels left around noon, so it was subbed with 2 pieces of toast. I mean, it was all still good but way too much money. The lady who took my order was warm & friendly though, and the seating areas (both inside and out) are comfortable and chic. Chill spot for rich people.

This place is absolutely stunning, like a spa in cafe form. It's airy and light, with lovely materials and plants everywhere you turn. The staff is the sweetest, and the menu has a really nice variety to it: From smoothies to pastries to burgers to cocktails. They even have solid gluten-free options. And it's right off the lobby of the 1 Hotel in Brooklyn. A rare find.

The food is really good the coffee is nice and the ambiance is one of my favorites, in a area with excellent places to walk. My only complaint is it's not an ideal place to get and work or studying done, there are no outlets in the cafe but I do believe they are in the hotel lobby.

Yummy, yummy, yummy !!!! Their smoothies are healthy and not too sweet. Avocado toast was nice and warm and freshly made. You must try their coffee . It's so good and they carry oat milk. . Place has lots of natural light & great views of the city. Nice place to meet a date for coffee.

Ambience is nice. Coffee is terrible, which is odd because side it's reputedly Bluestone Lane. Staff is untrained. I'd go pretty much anywhere else. And it's expensive.

The food and smoothies were delicious.The ambiance was fascinating. The tables outside and inside were clean, cashier was nice and patient.

This place gets 3 stars just based on the super high prices. It was $6 for a coffee, $6 for a croissant, and $12 for a smoothie. I was planning to get a smoothie but they were out of kale. The server was still trying to sell it to me but i was like why am I still paying $12 for no substitute. I ended up getting a cappuccino which was Bluestone. I didn't like that a 20% gratuity was automatically included in the bill. The one thing that was nice was the decor.

talk about a joke... I have never been so offended in my life. I ordered a $20 chicken sandwich that was, and hand to god this is no exaggeration, 98% bread. If I could give this place 0 star I would. It's a slap in the the face... screw this place. DO. NOT. GO.

This was a cute spot to stop on a walk along the water in Brooklyn. We walked across the bridge from Manhattan and stopped here for a drink and to take a rest. The decor is super cute. The line was long, and it seemed like it took forever for everyone to place their orders. But the staff was super friendly. They even have treats for your pets! The setting was nice, my hot chocolate was okay, staff friendly.

This place is the absolute worst. The staff is always rude and everything is overpriced-- even for NY. They don't know the difference between types of coffee and pretty much give you a very milky latte no matter what you order. The smoothies are pre made and tasteless. Do NOT go here.

I take issue w sneaking a 20% gratuity charge without warning you, and still offering you to tip them further without making it clear you had paid 20% already, and then offering very very slow service with no apology. Seemed like nice enough people working there but I don't like this approach to business lacking transparent pricing Also I ordered a bagel w cream cheese and tomato and avocado. They put the avocado and tomato in a totally separate large box instead of on the bagel. This was a bit ridiculous, both because I had to construct it myself on the street, and because they sell paraphernalia about being eco friendly -- this is really eco unfriendly.

Hilariously high prices for premade smoothies, most of which they are out of. Don't bother waiting in the interminably long line here.

It was disaster experience. Staff confused an orders. They brought our toast to another lady, which touched it by her hand and turned back to waiter. After that waiter just brought it to us. When we asked her about the situation, she answered nothing and even didn't say "sorry". I suppose the cafe, being a part of High quality hotel does not provide so poor service. It's too pity to meet so bad service in so nice hotel.

Great pastries and smoothies. Love the location and aesthetic. Dog friendly and they usually have Greenies treats for furry friends

This place is adorable. Tucked into the side of the 1 Hotel lobby, you certainly can't go wrong with ambiance here - a bit industrial and a bit of nature in every corner. Walk up to the counter and prepare to be stared at. Thought maybe it was just me, but from reading some of the reviews this might be the service they're going for. There's a few things listed on the wall, a cooler a bit down, and pastry case around the corner. Hard to take it all in for a first timer and certainly nobody who's going to greet you, ask if there's anything specific you're looking for, or try to help you decide. The prices for the prepared food are absurd and on par with what you'd expect at a full sit down restaurant. As a few people walked in and I didn't have time to wait, I panicked and grabbed an overpriced yogurt and granola parfait (that was decent in taste) and a latte (that was pretty nice). If you're staying at the hotel and need somewhere to go in the AM, this is a great option. If you're a local or willing to walk a little bit, there's other spots nearby that will leave you a bit more fulfilled.

20% gratuity automatically added... $6 for a black iced coffee w/ no milk or sugar... $8 for a bagel with butter. My total was $18 for the two. Wtf?

Second time there. Friendly and clean service at One Brooklyn bridge hotel. Modern hotel that allows dogs. Cafe has many organic choices as well as coffee, juice, water etc. we ordered protein bowls that were delish. Kept us going all day walking Right down the sidewalk u can see beautiful city views and take a stroll down the path to the piers. This cafe takes only CC no cash allowed.

It's such an amazing,, sustainable and delicious place to enjoy. The friendly environment truly made my day! Definitely recommend it!

You go in almost all tables are empty; there are few with reserve sign. Host comes and ask you to move bc it is reserve table. Don't make no sense!

Reading these terrible reviews are slightly shocking but somewhat understandable. The decor: lovely. The staff: nice. The coffee: okay the bagel: decent. There was no line at all at 9am on a Monday morning. What's not okay is the inexcusable prices. I was about to get the avocado toast but I didn't want to spend $20 on toast and a latte. So I opted for a everything bagel and drip coffee, which was $8. So, it's definitely possible to not pay an exorbitant amount but it's honestly still expensive for what you get. The staff took my plate when I finished my meal- which I thought was nice and both people I interacted with were friendly. Overall, I had a good experience. Don't come in here if you don't want to spend money on mediocre coffee and food - it's that simple. Insider tip: don't wear denim, you'll look like you work there.

I ordered three iced coffees and a matcha latte... $30. The iced coffees were the worst I have ever had. It tasted like hot coffee that was poured over ice to make it cold. I would highly NOT recommend.

Came here to get coffee and work on my laptop. Bad idea. It was so loud in here, even my airpods couldn't drown out all the noise. Plus it was just absurdly expensive for mediocre coffee. Also, they have oat milk, but no Oatly. So sad. It's cute and the food looks good and they have a nice outdoor space but if you're like me, then pass.

Not sure if Covid has completely crushed the human spirit that powers the service industry but management need to seriously re examine the morale of the staff. Despite of the poor reviews I decided to stop at this cafe this afternoon with couple of clients to pick up hot tea. We literally stood at the empty unmanned counter for 5 min waiting for any sign of human presence. After loudly shouting " helllo??" Half dozen times, we were met w silence and some apathetic stares from the front desk staff, who were fully aware of situation but nonetheless adopted see no evil hear no evil aka "I don't give f$$k" approach and stood idle by. After what felt like an eternity, one of my colleagues went all the way to the kitchen trying to get some attention. And after almost another 5 min wait, we were finally greeted by a young blonde hair staff. She offered no apologies, but plenty visual signs of annoyance. Perhaps the mere presence of customer is an offense to her.. or perhaps we, the customer and resident of this property should learn of our place in the hierarchy of this mysterious hotel... Regardless, Since I was w first time clients, I decided not to waste time complaining and simply charged $22 for the 3 cups of tea to the room and hurried off. I booked a 4 night stay at this luxury hotel and admit the experience at the cafe has tainted my view of the service of this entire property ( which has not been great either).

Came in on a Saturday morning to grab a cold brew, smoothie and baked good. The place was fairly empty when I walked in. I placed the order with the cashier and went around to the bar to wait for my stuff. The cashier seemed fairly nonchalant about making sure that I actually got my baked good and the barista ended up getting it instead. It seemed acceptable until then, but then went all downhill from there. Here are the reasons why: 1. I ordered a matcha/mango smoothie. The smoothie maker informed me that mango was not available because it was too frozen. Not her fault, but WHY. If you're going to charge $12 for a very simple smoothie, why is your fruit frozen to the point that a vitamix can't blend it into a smoothie? She offered pineapple instead - I accepted. The smoothie was bland and lacked the quality that $12 should bring. 2. I ordered a chocolate croissant. The croissant looked suspiciously dark/brown so I clarified with the cashier that it was a croissant with chocolate pieces in it vs. a croissant that had chocolate mixed with the pastry dough. She said that it was the former. The croissant was straight up the worst chocolate croissant that I have ever had. The flaky parts tasted burnt, yet the inside was unflaky, sticky and reminded me more of regular bread then of pastry dough. Whoever this place orders their croissants from should probably end that contract immediately. Again, if you're going to charge that much for a shitty pastry, you should probably reassess why you're doing that. In conclusion - the 1Hotel is beautiful and a great place to hangout, stay or have an event. I've been to the Osprey and the food was decently good though service still had its major kinks. But this experience can do nothing but harm the entire guest experience. It comes across as mismanagement, a lack of operational professionalism, and a clear disregard for a level of quality in food that matches the quality of design that the hotel offers. Don't get food here - everything that I had that morning almost ruined the rest of my day. I left angry and feeling taken advantage of.

If you enjoy long, pointless waits coupled with slowly rising blood pressure then this place is for you! Do not be fooled by the cute decor, the seemly put together staff behind the counter and the nice display of baked goods. It's all a facade. You're definitely paying for the decor in their over inflated prices, the display has items that may actually be available for sale and the staff while seemingly busy putting together orders, are, in reality, mostly ornamental. After what felt like an interminable wait, it took another 15 min to get two flaccid scoops of ice cream (is there anything worse than a stingy cup of ice cream?), a pre-packaged drink and a pre-made sandwich. Except we actually never got our sandwich because they had run out (apparently the one prominently displayed in the display case was "just for show"). They only noticed the sandwich after they charged the full amount - cue another 10 min refund process. The only way the service could have been possibly more inefficient is if they all fell spontaneously comatose. Although, to be honest, should that have happened, the guest probably would have just served themselves and had a better experience.

Great atmosphere. Friendly Staff. Ordered the coffee date. It's delicious! Will definitely come back again. Looks like they have outdoor seatings but it's closed due to raining and cold weather.

Don't come here unless you want over priced hotel coffee. The 20% mandatory gratuity is ridiculous and border line fraudulent. Two coffees and a croissant cost $25...

The cafe and connected lobby space are really well appointed and fun to walk through, in particular the outdoor wall garden and main lobby with views of the bridge are spectacular. The staff are friendly and service was fine. But the prices are really just too much to stomache. For $14, my açai smoothie needed to be the best I'd ever had by a wide margin, and it simply wasn't. I'll probably still be back since the location is so convenient when walking through the area with visitors and guests but I doubt I'll ever get used to the prices.

Latte was okay. Ambiance great......BUT I only found out after I got the transaction notification that my chocolate chip cookie was SEVEN DOLLARS. There's no listed price, no one mentioned it at the cash register... they just let me pay it. Completely shocked. I buy high-end pastries all the time - never seen anything approaching this. I understand that gluten-free usually costs more, but (with no warning especially) this is robbery.

This cafe was really cute and delicious. My only reason for the 4 stars is the price. Very expensive. 13$ for a breakfast sandwhich with bacon. Iced coffee 4$ I believe. Good quality though!

Neighbors is located right next to the lobby of the 1 Hotel, but thankfully, their price tags are a little bit more down to earth. Their menu is projected onto the wall, which is borderline too hip for me. They have coffee, smoothies, pastries, soups and salads. I just wanted a quenching drink, and a $4 ginger beer hit the spot. If you think that's pricey, they also have Jus and booster juice shots at $11 and $5, respectively. Staff was super friendly, and they went out of their way to get me a ginger beer from the back because there wasn't one in the front.

Far and away the worst coffee shop in Brooklyn Heights and Dumbo. Be prepared to wait 25-35 minutes for a single cup of coffee. Rude service. Overpriced food. Terrible atmosphere.

This place was good when we stayed at 1Hotel during Christmas last year but we stayed again for my wife's birthday and found that this cafe has gone way downhill. Tongs dropped on the floor were returned to the counter for use, the barista made dozens of blunders while we waited 10-12 minutes for a cortado to stay, only to be served a macchiato to go at the end of our extended wait. Hopefully someone can take charge of this place before the next time we come back to 1Hotel. Having good espresso is definitely high on our priorities for coming back to stay in the hotel.

Just waited 20 minutes for 2 cups of coffee but it is a beautiful location need to fix this service

This place is beautiful and great! There are people giving it bad reviews for the prices. If that's an issue for you, then maybe don't buy a salad in one of the most expensive neighborhoods in NYC overlooking Manhattan in a brand new hotel... and maybe look at the prices before you make a purchase. ;)

This is a beautiful cafe and the staff is very nice. However, I paid $17 for a tiny (kind of bland) egg mcmuffin and regular coffee (without refills) after tax/tip. The logistics aren't the best... after sitting in the side room and being brought coffee, I was told to walk back to the front with a full mug (around running children) just to go add milk to it. And was only brought water when I was done eating. Hopefully just launch kinks!

Really cute envioronmentally friendly cafe, attached to the gorgeous 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge. Please go and try the gelato! PERIOD

Worst experience ever. Waited 30 minutes for food (two sandwiches and a salad). No one approached us. Finally flagged down a waitress. She said a 30 minute wait was typical. When I complained, she got the manager, who said it would be at least another twenty minutes. I demanded our money back. Some time later, he dropped off a slip showing a credit to a charge card, though we had paid in cash. Not sure whose card it was. We ended up walking back to the register and waiting while they sorted it out. No apologies, nothing. Absolutely inept. Place was only half full. Avoid at all costs, unless you have 50 minutes to kill waiting for a sandwich.

Underwhelming. "Cold brew" coffee tastes burnt. Wasn't worth the price. They did give us a dog bowl of water for our pup
