NEMA San Francisco

I’ve lived here for a year and just resigned for another year. The amenities are what initially drew me to the building, but the community is what keeps me here. The staff is excellent - friendly, helpful, and always have smiles on their faces. The apartments are roomy with lots of storage, they have modern finishes, and are well maintained...granted could use better lighting, but nothing a lamp or two can’t fix. The gym is fantastic, the valet parking is both convenient and reassuring, and the package delivery is great…you never have to worry about packages being stolen! It’s also super pet friendly, my dog loves to visit the concierge for her daily treat! Nema is centrally located and super close to BART and Muni stops. All in all a great, safe place to live!

Living at the NEMA complex in San Francisco has been a great experience! Abby, the leasing agent I worked with prior to moving in and during my time here, is amazing. She helped me find the perfect unit, is very responsive whenever I have any questions, and is genuinely kind. Additionally, Simon and CiCi at the front desk/concierge are phenomenal people, always ready to assist with a smile. The garage attendants are also very attentive and helpful, making daily life more convenient. Being from a different state and relocating to Northern California for work was very unsettling, but moving to NEMA made the transition phenomenal. I love the view from my apartment, the gym is amazing, and overall, I've had a very smooth and enjoyable experience.

Living at NEMA for the last 6 months has been great! Building has everything you need (the gym could use a refresh on equipment which has gotten quite old and some more organization). Staff has always been helpful and supportive as a resident here, especially Simon. He has really made my time here very pleasant and goes above & beyond to help me out when I need some assistance.

Already lived here for a month, LOVE this place! Michael helped me with everything with leasing, he is super nice, patient, responsible and responsive! He makes my move in quite smooth:) The studio is spacious. You have everything delivered to your door (very nice for lazy people like me). Hot water without 1sec waiting. It won’t make you regret to live here: ) Highly recommend

Gym is probably the largest of apartment buildings, but in need of a minor refresh. For the price, my main qualms with this building are: - no public space open after 10pm. - high staff turnover - detoriating apartments - no local grocery store, and many nearby restaurants have shuttered. I’ve enjoyed my time at NEMA, very friendly and helpful staff as well. If you can get a great deal to stay here, would definitely recommend it. I think there are many better price:quality ratio available in the city though.

I have been living in NEMA for 5 yrs. Amenities are amazing. Nice modern design building. However, their customer service are bad. They are not stand by for residence. Especially, contract late response and front desk never open the main door.

The desk staff here is wonderful, but the apartment itself has some major cons. 1. Weevil infestation. Some apartments have a pest problem (the one I moved into on the 8th floor has a weevil infestation) and it is extremely gross finding little bugs throughout. Pest control has not fixed the issue. I found these when I moved in: 2. Very noisy overnight. The South tower is located directly over a dumpster (Recology pickups are extremely loud) -- they occur at 11 pm, 1 am and 3 am. Not a great location if you are a light sleeper. The dumpster was also recently set on fire which led to a lot of air pollution indoors if you have your window open. 3. The laundry room shared machines are extremely dirty, many are full of dog hair. I don't think they get cleaned very regularly. This apartment has many many dogs and it is hard not to get animal hair on your clothes when washing/drying in these conditions.

I love living here! Since the building is in the heart of the city, you can easily go anywhere you want. The view from the upper floors is excellent. There is a parking area with valet service. The building has a gym, pool and barbecue terrace.

Beautiful place to live in. Fantastic Staff all over the building. Every department does an amazing job, completely impressed with their professionalism and customer service. Noise all day long at the pool which carries throughout the entire property. I've sent requests for management to please enforce the no music policy and constant screaming from children but they don't. The windows are faulty and do not close properly. Have had to have them fixed 4x in a few months. They also don't have AC and so you rely on open windows for cool air but they're poorly installed and rattle with the wind so badly you have to close them. Also have experienced non stop noise from the dog walk and clanking of the gate 24 hours a day. Poorly trained dogs bark at all hours and owners don't do anything as most are just staring at their phone and don't care it's 6 am and it could wake people up. They treat the pee chute as a park for loud play and training with their dogs.There's no respect for other tenants and their right to quiet in their apartments. Both the dog walk and pool are located in the central part of both buildings on the third floor so the noise carries to all apartments and has been constant since I moved in. Selfish tenants and zero enforcement. I pay over $3k in rent and it is not worth it. Elevator is constantly broken. Had to walk down 14 flights of stairs last week because the elevator wasn't open. There are better buildings with better layouts and less expensive. I won't be renewing my lease. Note: front desk and valet are very helpful. Fun events and nice amenities, but only a few positives compared to multiple negatives. Ty

The front desk staff are lovely here. Especially the tall skinny East African guy I always forget his name but great personality. He spots me from long and opens the door immediately. Always smiling . Great face to come home to. Dogs are mostly problematic here in the building owners pay no attention to them. Laundry has been a challenge, leasing office are hard to reach consistently ignores emails and are always in meetings. Weekends are very difficult because of noisy neighbors. Place is overall Overpriced.

The desk staff here is wonderful, but the apartment itself has some major cons. Not necessarily worth the expensive rent, at least in South Tower. 1. Extremely reduced airflow (only one window opens only a few inches) and no air conditioning. It's impossible to stay cool and is makes it hard to breathe overnight on stuffy days. 2. I don't think they get cleaned very regularly. This apartment has many many dogs and it is hard not to get animal hair on your clothes when washing/drying in these conditions. 5. Lots of dogs that aren't always super well-behaved. There can be a lot of barking in hallways/at nights.

Adding another review again because I'm bowled over by their hospitality and concern. This review is especially for the mail room at NEMA SF. My work authorization card got delivered here after we had moved out. Marshall, who manages the mails, emailed me to say there's a USPS package that seems to be important. As it was! I dropped in to collect it and thanked him for his service! He handed the letter to me and said, "I understand how long the government takes to deliver these cards and I didn't want to send the letter back". He deserves a raise and more for his forethought and concern!!!

I had an amazing experience at NEMA apartments during my apartment hunt in San Francisco. Its location is perfect, with many good restaurants, concert halls, and offices within walking distance. The apartment is brand new, beautifully furnished, and offers an excellent view. The amenities are outstanding, with a beautiful swimming pool and a well-equipped gym that's always clean. The valet parking and doorstep delivery service are also top-notch. Abby Bergman, the leasing agent, and Justin Bell, the leasing manager, were incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. Abby was very professional and attentive to my needs, showing me multiple apartments that were tailored to my interests. Justin was a considerate manager who made the process stress-free and enjoyable. Working with them was a fantastic experience. Overall, I am thrilled to move into this apartment next year!

Signed a lease and I'm thrown away by the customer service here. The elevators are slow and crowded. I'm having massive regrets

Great building with awesome amenities. Front desk guys are very friendly. The maintenance team is superb. Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Coordinator are extremely responsive, any repair/ fixing request have been addressed very quickly and professionally. The building overall is very clean and pleasant to live in.

After living at this residence for over a year now, I have experienced the worst experience during the leasing process. They have new leasing management that will ignore emails and calls. My leasing experience was far less than sub par. The building itself with amenities will be rated as a five star but If your looking for hassle-free experience please look elsewhere.

My best apartment hunting experience at NEMA. I was greeted by Michael. He was very helpful because I had a limited budget and I needed some rent concession incentives to make the student budget. Michael showed me exactly the units that would fit my budget. We closed the "deal" within a week. He helped with the "on boarding" move quickly so that my student could get settled into her bright and cheerful studio within 10 days. I truly feel safe by leaving my student at NEMA because of the friendly and 24/7 security system. The mail and package collection service is perfect. The public community space is wonderful and clean. Most of all, the valet staff members for dropping off furniture and heavy items were very tolerant. Thanks to Michael and NEMA. Peter C.

Moved into NEMA this past weekend - I toured multiple high-rise luxury buildings, the leasing process and customer service at NEMA was undoubtedly the best - Michael took care of us at every step and was always very responsive and top of any questions we had. I could tell he really cared to find the right apartment we were looking for! NEMA holistically is one of the best apartment buildings out there - the differences being it has full amenities (rooftop, 60 ft lap pool, spin/yoga classes, etc), resident events (food eating contests, Tahoe ski trips, wine tasting), huge floor plans.. WARNING: The infrastructure internally of the NEMA buildings is falling apart. This is certainly not a luxury building any longer. The water has needed to be shut off for multiple days, which means toilet backs ( gross) tenants call it ENEMA now. The entire elevator banks stop, and people can't get to their apartments. They blame three-party vendors on tenants, so they take zero responsibility. This once-premium property is showing its age - and not in a good way. The apartments facing North - West toward Market Street at night are blinded by an the electric blue light off of the high rise across the street - no one stays in the 01 units. They trick people and don't tell them - of course it's only shown in the daytime, big warning The greedy management has put profits above maintenance and updating. The move-out is happening fast and furious. They are overcharging grossly. There are now many better options in the neighborhood- without sacrificing the views or cost. When looking for a real luxury building NEMA is all wrong! In a year everything has changed... It's very sad most of the former employees are no longer here and left. There are the excellent staff like Don, Tony, C.C. and others - it's the upper management, and leasing office.

Well don't apply here if you are "brown" and make decent amount of money, 100k and up, because the f second question you will be asked is "what do you do for a living?" The leasing person will also turn off here zoom meeting camera on her end so that way you can't see her.. I guess the fear is strong for her. Don't bother anyways the building is old out dated and over priced plus going out of business :/ They aren't paying their rent on the building but expect you to pay your rent? Well I guess the leasing agent is just worried of about all the brown boys selling their drugs I. The Tenderloin two blocks over so her fears run-over onto her clientele. I wonder if I was white and worked at Twitter across the street she would have unashamedly asked " what do I do for living 2 minutes into our phone call. She really didn't seem like she wanted to rent to me from the first 90 seconds of her leasing tour.. No worries though I just got 3 offers from buildings twice as nice as this old dilapidated structure ;)

I am writing this to show people San Francisco still lives in style. I've lived in the city since 1976 and moved into NEMA in May 2016. As the world has witness, our city now face some tragic circumstances, much of them just blocks from my apartment building which sits between the headquarters of major tech companies. So much of the city seems in trouble yet NEMA seems to buck this trend and move on in its historical style. All of us I am sure have reduced expectations from our city's institutions: I've seen many disheartening situations myself and it appears we all get told to roll with whatever may come. This weekend I had my niece stay overnight and the tub without our involvement had a totally stopped drain. She had to Uber down to her own place in Los Gatos for a shower and then Uber back to the city for a meeting with her brother in North Beach. I felt resigned and had very low expectations as today is a holiday and I thought perhaps this would receive attention from NEMA managment sometime during the upcoming week. I call down to Justine (a native son of the city) at the Concierge Desk to place a Maintenance Request while thinking how many days this would take and feeling resigned I did not press the point. Justine expedited the issue and two of the Maintenance Staff, Marlon and Santino, came up in about one hour and completed the job and left the whole tub and bathroom spotless. Needless to say I was surprised when they rang my bell and totally happy when I witnessed how quickly and well they completed this job. Marlon and Santino have helped me before in another situation here - they always are patient, kind, and professional and do the job well and efficeintly. Justine works at the Front Desk and always has the same professional attitude. This shows the San Fransisco we all have known for years; this shows the polite, social, and professional attitude that made San Fransisco 's style famous world wide way before the Golden Gate Bridge. Each of these men acted with the kindness and intelligence we knew to expect before this current crises - they acted as a team for the people who live at NEMA and in my mind as a reflection of what has in the past made this city great.

Been living in NEMA for two months now and it has been great so far! The building has nice views and great amenities and services(Shout out to Gerlynn for showing us the apartment and helping us settle in) Thanks Muhammad (who is actually very fun to hang out with outside work despite him always looking so serious in leasing office lol) for taking us current residents to a kayak trip today! We had so much fun! Thanks NEMA team for organizing this event and can't wait for the next one (there are some resident events happening every month or so)

Amazing building with impeccable Tour Agents! Spoke with Abby and she makes me want to live at Nema even before discovering all of the amenities and the beauty of the units and building. Working through my budget for a hopeful move in to either a one bed + den with a balconette or two bed with a balconette. Hoping I will be calling Nema home.

I've been living here for a month now & I love it so far! My leasing agent Abby was super helpful & responsive during the application & move-in process. She got back to me quickly with any questions I had and made sure I was all set up with utilities, movers, etc. NEMA also hosts a lot of events for residents like Super Bowl parties, ski trips to Tahoe, and even weekly pastries on Mondays in the lobby. The 2 towers also have a pool, an amazing rooftop terrace, massages on site, business lounges, dry cleaning, & even car washes. It's the kind of place that if you work from home, you may never need to leave! Residents can also give away or sell things within our resident app. I also love that guests can pay to park in the NEMA garage, so they don't have to worry about parking on the streets. Overall, I'm very happy with my choice to move here :)

I've lived in NEMA since 2019: Pros: - good natural lighting (where I am, at least) - a lot of amenity options, if that's your thing. I like the gym and pool - my unit has good space. Cons: - the general neighbourhood is terrible. Good luck walking around outside, especially at night. You - it is loud inside the units. There are constant sirens on Market Street, and constant screaming from the neighbourhood. I rarely heard my neighbours until about a year ago, and now there has been constant noise from the upstairs unit. - no A/C. With the shades drawn and the windows open, it's usually at least 75F in my unit (and of course, with the windows open, the sirens and the screaming are that much louder) - constant bright light from Twitter directly into my bedroom at night. I've raised this multiple times to the leasing office since the lease states that you're not allowed to install your own shades. No one has followed up with me. - there's been a noticeable decline in the quality of the concierge staff in the last 6 months or so, unfortunately. The old team was great, the new team...not so much.

The review is for the NEMA Parking garage. Was coming to the building for a hair appointment & wanted a safe place to park because, no way would I take muni to this neighborhood! Even though the lot signs said full, when I told them I was there for an appt, they took my car no question. There must be an arrangement w/ the salon but whatever the case, I was grateful When I was ready to pick up my car, it was already in one of their front spots. Zero wait time to get it back. Valets were super friendly. $20 flat fee

I looked at many high rises in SF, and I think NEMA is one of the best ones out there. The building itself is beautiful - they have some great amenities (a gym with multiple squat racks!! so many high rises just have cardio machines) and some great rooftop areas. However, I think the best part of NEMA is the size of each apartment. Every other high rise has apartments with smaller sqft and NEMA consistently has apartments that are pretty big in size (and the windows let in so much light). Over the summer they have some pretty good deals (4-8 weeks free), so I'd definitely be on the lookout for those deals. If anyone wants a referral for NEMA, feel free to reach out - I'd be happy to split the referral.

Living at NEMA is the best decision I ever made. I love all the employees there, all of them are really nice and cool. One thing I love most and makes me feel this is the best luxury apartment is the monthly event. Last month we went to a Napa wine tour, this week we went to the city kayaking. Both Don and Mohammad are really good at hosting events, it's so much funnnn

I wish the pool was warmer! It's freezing in SF. That would turn this review into 5 stars! As far as reviews of staff, Dan Rosales is an amazing fitness director who keeps offering interesting new classes. Nema's fitness program in my opinion is the best reason to live here. Many buildings have nice apartments but not the fitness classes downstairs! Jimmy's bootcamp is freaking amazing! Kim is a stretching and muscle expert. Christina teaches an awesome series of outdoor bootcamps that is very popular. The front desk staff are the best. Kim is always friendly and smiling every morning to gree. All the others are very helpful and welcoming. I can't say enough great things about the staff - they make all the difference. Cons: if you are on the building interior, there are incredibly bright lights that go on at 5:30am and will wake you up. If you are on the building exterior, the apt will be boiling hot and unlivable. The Jessie St side of the S Tower is 80-90 degrees all the time inside the apartments and no A/C. The concrete floors look terrible and will get scratched, oily and disgusting. Don't try to have them painted! The paint will peel off and get all over your stuff. Oh and you will likely be charged at a minimum a move out cleaning fee of $250 when it's time to move. There's also an extra $100-150 a month building trash and water fee not included in rent. Finally, I've had pretty steep rent increases here (over 10 percent, several years in a row). The building utility fee has gone up 100 percent. I would strongly recommend a rent controlled building if you are thinking of staying in SF.

Isiah and Santino are the most amazing professionals. They have helped me in so many ways. Answering my questions, and attentively following-up. I would not stay here if they were no longer working in the maintenance department. They have made living here as a new resident just so much more pleasurable.

I've been a resident @ NEMA for about a year and a half. I am delighted and feel fortunate to be part a great community. The Management and Admin staff are always there to assist and facilitate your needs. The Maint staff are quick to remedy and resolve any household issues as well as a commendable Cleaning staff who keep the common spaces and lobbies immaculately clean and tidy. The Concierge and Desk staff are knowledgeable, friendly and always greet a warm welcome home with a smile. They are prompt to respond to any inquiries, act with discretion and respectful of your privacy. The amenities of a pool / community room / gym / doggy run / bbq area and commanding city views whether from your apt or rooftop terrace are added perks! Additionally having valet parking is such an added bonus. The staff managed by Rae are always quick and responsive to have your car pulled out and awaiting or garaged immediately upon request. You never have to worry about finding a parking space or having your car broken into or ticketed! NEMA is ideally located in SOMA where you can easily access all the major highways and arterials or public transportation (MUNI/BART/). NEMA offers you the best of all things and I'm here to stay until something better come along but I doubt that any new apartment complex can outdo all that NEMA has to offer ... luxury living with a vibrant thriving community of residents creating a healthy and happy environment for all to enjoy.

Just crossed by NEMA, my first home when I moved to the bay area. Got reminded of my favorites of the staff Don and Tino, who were exceptionally wonderful and professional, and made living there easy for me. Leaving this review to express how appreciative of them I am.

PLUSES: --Central location in SF; easy access to public transit. --Secure building--both in terms of keeping crime out and getting mail & packages reliablly. --Very friendly, dedicated staff. MINUSES: --Insufficient heating--the lobbies and common areas except the business center are uncomfortably cold throughout the winter. --The corner where NEMA is located gets constant cold wind in the warmer months (more than other parts of SF), which makes the outdoor pool and sun deck. I understand that SF has a chilly climate in the summer, but I've lived in the city for 33+ years and never felt as cold as here. --The bathrooms of the 2 apartments I've been in have no heating. --The apartments facing the North and East are drafty and the heating doesn't work too well. --The driveway from the garage to the street is dangerous--it's too narrow and you can't see oncoming cars barreling down 10th Street when you try to turn out. --Since the pandemic, the neighborhood has died. This is not NEMA's fault, but it really detracts from the experience of living here. (I've lived here 2 years and dated someone regularly here for 7 years prior to that.) SUMMARY: My gut tells me you can do better in SF for the money that NEMA charges. I realize weather and neighborhood environment are 2 things the folks here can't control, but unfortunately these external factors and the infrastructure really detract from the experience of what could be a nice property to live in.

Michael was hands down the best leasing agent I've ever worked with! He made himself available to me during his off hours and was incredibly patient and knowledgeable. I let him know what things were most important to me in a new apartment and he recommended the perfect floor plan and unit!

(This is updated after living here a lot longer but I still feel exactly the same, I moved out because I moved to another city) I love love loved living here! I have lived here 3 years I can honestly say this place is fantastic. (yes it sounds a bit over the top, and yes I am really honest; I do not get anything for writing this review) The facilities are wonderful, valet parking, a pool, community areas (with fire place, TVs and pool table), roof terras, bbq terras, it is all very very nice. But what makes this place truly great is the staff. Hence I will give a shout out to them first: Everyone is super nice and extremely helpful. The concierges are always greeting you, and they are always there if you need something and available 24/7. The leasing office staff are also extremely nice, they might not always be there (as the office is only open during office hours) but they will get back with you asap if you have questions. The cleaning staff is really nice too and they work really hard to keep the place super clean (so many people and dogs in the building but you wouldn't say it by how spotless it is kept). The valet people are also super nice and helpful and do their best to get you car quickly, and make sure your car (and motorcycle; as I have one as well) is kept under good care, they can even wash it for you and put air in your tires if needed. I didn't talk much to the mail people but when I did they are definitely very nice, and I loved having people receive my packages and notifying me or even deliver to my unit if I want when I have a delivery, I do know they work hard to get everything through in time. As for technical staff: I had to put in a couple work orders (my dryer, and the light in the hallway) and it was taken care of really quickly. You can even do all this over the app they have. So though I didn't talk to them, I was very pleased with their work. Last but definitely not least: I used the gym regularly, and attended many classes every week; and the trainers are a blast and very skilled, I loved their classes. The classes are complimentary and the gym is of high grade; enough machines and all very new and well kept. During the pandemic they even made sure they had plenty zoom gym classes so people could still keep moving. (I noticed a few one star reviews from people that complain about one issue but love the rest of the place. A bit weird to use Yelp as a message board as everyone at Nema is super approachable I have noticed. And again: no I am not told to write this for Nema, check out my profile, I honestly loved living here.) I definitely want to point out a few other great things about this building: it is super quiet. I lived on the street side, but when you close your sliding door (balcony) it is quiet. They did a great job sound proofing! I also hardly heard my neighbors. Besides from every now and then maybe a door that closes in the hallway, I didn't hear anything. And believe me: I am picky when it comes to noise. Regularly Nema organizes events for the residents that are either free to attend, or at a really good price point. In the 3 years I have been living here (except for pandemic time) I have plenty seen roll by: movie nights (with drinks and a popcorn machine), art walks in the city, happy hours at a trendy local bar, wine tastings in wine country (with shuttle), a live jazz band with drinks and bites, ski trips, brewery tours etc and especially their yearly holiday parties were EPIC (not sure if they have brought them back yet since we are still in a pandemic). All the events I have attended were a lot of fun! It is a great way to get to know fellow residents. As for the neighborhood: a couple blocks away it is pretty bad at night. But except for the one straggler here and there the streets right around Nema are not too bad. As you can see I am a woman, I owned two small dogs when living there and I took them out even after 10pm or around 11pm. I also went out regularly and take public transportation, even late at night (if I had to go through the bad part at night, I did take Lyft instead) and I have never felt unsafe. I noticed one lady complaining in her review about her dog relief notices and blaming it on not being able to get it out due to the bad neighborhood: ignore her. The streets right around the building are fine, especially when you stay in sight of the concierge. Nema also cleans the streets around the building so I am not sure why she talks about crap and needles(?). They clean and hose down the streets every day. On top of that they have a great doggy run on one of the roof tops now, so you don't have to go on the streets anymore.

The first day we moved in, the latch of the ONLY window in our living room broke. This means, when we open the window, it doesn't stay open. In addition to the crazy winds of SF, the window is constantly banging against the wall - which is super scary as it sounds like it may break. However, since there's no AC in Nema, to avoid dying during the heat wave or just getting air in general, we are forced to open the only window in the living room. We've put in plenty of work orders for the window to be fixed. A month has gone by and it still hasn't been fixed. We are forced to live with this constant banging and window just swinging and closing. It's insanely annoying.

The valet parking staff at NEMA are incredible. They are friendly, efficient, and really welcoming. They made me feel at home every time I drove back to the apartment. Raymond was especially helpful. Thanks!

As someone who has lived in three units in NeMa (833, 2011, 3009) since the building opened in October of 2013, this is a hard review to write. NeMa has, quite literally, been my home for nearly a decade. The fact that I've been here that long should tell you how happy I've been. But I'm out of places to turn and want to share my quite frankly terrible experience with our leasing office on my renewal. Two months or so ago I was offered an aggressively hostile renewal - going from my current 4500ish a month to an absurd 5400, an increase of $900 a month or 20%. This is well above market rate, and well above any one bedrooms in the building. Ultimately that number was lowered with concession or I was given the option of transferring to an identical unit one floor down (30 to 29) for $4200, with an added five week concession taking it to $3700ish. That is a genuinely great deal and less than I've paid in the building since the year I moved in, and I would like to say that was the end of this story. I assumed they wanted me out of my unit for a refresh or something. The problem is as soon as that deal was offered my unit was offered for rent at the identical rate. And I was told in no uncertain terms that there was no way I could stay in my current unit at that rate, or anything close to it. I've offered to wave concessions, to do basically anything I can, because moving is a pain, even if it's just down a floor. The answer has been no, every time. I'm a real estate developer. I build apartment buildings. While I don't manage our leasing process, plenty of my team is deeply involved. We would *never* do anything like this to a resident. No one in the industry would, and I've polled enough people at ULI to say that with confidence. This has been a good building to live in. Nema has been my home for almost a decade. I wish it still felt like it was.

Lived here for 4 years, and only left because my wife and I ended up purchasing a home outside the city. The amenities are absolutely superb, and I took full advantage of everything: rooftop views, the amazing gym, office area downstairs to print things, outdoor grill area, outdoor/indoor lounge areas. And then you have free events throughout the year like Super Bowl and Halloween parties. And these aren't just throwaway events, they're LEGIT parties. But the cherry on top is how friendly and helpful all the staff is. From the valets to the packaging team to the concierges, everyone was amazing to work with, and we truly miss those daily interactions more than anything. If you're planning to move into the city, you should at the very least schedule a tour at NEMA. I still remember not having any real expectations 4 years ago when I came for the tour, but the place sold itself pretty quickly. Worst case scenario, you can get an amazing picture of the SF skyline :)

I've been living in this apartment for over 2 years. Great floor plan, even better management team. They also organize events and activities for residents. Shout out to Mohammed for organizing our latest kayak experience with the large group.

I lived in NEMA SF for the past year and it is an amazing apartment building! I don't typically write reviews about my housing but I felt like this place deserved the positive feedback. The front desk is very friendly and was always accommodating whenever I had a question or request. The elevators are very quick and the public areas of the building were always very clean and well maintained. I had a few standard maintenances issues during my stay, but NEMA would get back to me typically within the day and have it fixed immediately. I lived in a studio facing 10th street which is a noisy intersection, but the windows have excellent sound proofing. The unit was small which I knew when I chose it but the space was laid out very efficiently so it didn't feel cramped. There is a valet car service that is a monthly fee if you have a vehicle. It doesn't cost significantly more than waitlisted garage parking in nearby apartment complexes and you can have your car ready for you when you leave and just drop it off by the door when you return. Ray who runs the operation is so nice and did a great job keeping things running smoothly. Having lived in several apartment complexes in the past, NEMA definitely stands out as a company that has prioritized client experience and seems to take pride in running a high quality business. Finally, after moving to another state I just received notice of my security deposit and it was returned in full. Although I had not incurred any damage to the unit, it is almost unheard of in the Bay Area to get a full security deposit return without some sort of back and forth with the leasing office. I have absolutely no complaints about my stay in this building and would recommend NEMA to anyone looking to rent in this area!

Moved in a couple months ago and we have no regrets! Our leasing agent Mohammad gave us the grand tour and was super accommodating. The amenities are awesome here, so make sure you take advantage of it all. If you're looking for a new place to move to, hit up Mohammad. He'll give you his all!

I love it @ NEMA. My experience has been fantastic. The building is really nice & clean, my room is spacious & quiet, and the amenities are awesome. The building location has been super convenient for me as well. It's very central and there is easy access to freeways! The NEMA staff is also very friendly and accommodating. Thank you concierge, valet, management, leasing, and maintenance! Special thanks to my leasing agent, Abby Bergman, for making sure my stay at NEMA was the best choice! I actually did a virtual tour with Abby. I asked so many questions, and I was amazed on her quick response time. Everything presented to me virtually was 100% accurate. Thank you for your professionalism and friendly personality. I'm glad that I chose NEMA!

Literally the worst place i have been. Customer service is literally bs. They treat their customers based on how they dressed and based on how they look. Not a single personal speaks English. Really bad experience. Do not recommend to anyone.

We toured over a dozen properties in SF. We saw all the newest complexes, the best high rises, throughout all parts of the city. We can safely conclude that NEMA was the very best overall apartment that we saw. Across all factors- price, space, quality of the unit, amenities, location...NEMA came out on top. The view from the unit we toured was the very best of any high rise in the area, and the unit itself was beyond spacious (by far the biggest of any of the luxury high rises in SF). The amenities also go beyond what you'd expect from even a luxury apartment (they offer multiple free workout and yoga classes per week...). And if you're a dog owner like us, you'll be happy to know their dog run is large and somehow doesn't smell like every other dog run we've been to (my guess is they clean very often). The immediate surroundings are also clean and safe enough to walk your dog around. Not to mention NEMA's straight across from the Market (countless coffee and food options there along with a little grocery store that has all your basic needs). Lastly, we absolutely have to give a shout out to our leasing agent, Gerlynn! Gerlynn was A DREAM to work with. She explained everything very thoroughly and never once did we feel pressured to make a decision. We took some time deliberating after we toured, but she remained super responsive throughout the process, both before AND after we signed a lease. Like we said earlier, we saw a LOT of apartments in SF and worked with plenty of leasing agents. Gerlynn was the best of the best. So TLDR: Super happy with NEMA :)

Absolutely incredible at building rapport, coordinating discussions, and managing the virtual tour and follow-ups. Huge shoutout to Abby B on the leasing team for being top notch at her job. I was blown away by how comprehensive my virtual tour of the building was. Loved it, but unfortunately had to move elsewhere for personal reasons.

Abby and the team at NEMA made finding a new place to call home such a great experience. I was looking for apartments in January when SF was pretty much locked down due to COVID and I'm so happy I found NEMA. Abby was great every step of the way - so friendly and readily available to help out with questions and tours (both virtual and self-guided in person) without ever making me feel pressured into making a decision. Since moving in, I've loved living in my new apartment. The space is large, and the in-unit amenities are great. It's also super quiet - my apartment faces 10th St and I've never been woken up or put out by noise from the street. I've also never heard any noise from neighbouring apartments. Because my apartment faces 10th St, it has also stayed very nice and cool during some of the hotter days we've had. The amenities at NEMA are great too. My favourite is the outdoor terrace on the 24th floor that gives amazing views over the Mission, SoMa and Downtown. I'm looking forward to taking advantage of the Gym now it's open without the need to make a reservation. The rest of the NEMA team like the team that work in the mail room are also amazing - they are so quick at processing packages and delivering them right to your door! I love my experience at NEMA so far and look forward to more time here.

We are going on our 1.5 years living at nema next month. We have loved our experience here until the last month or so. I'm writing this review because I'm not only frustrated but extremely disappointed and there's no other outlet to express it where we'd receive help. We've submitted several work orders, emailed the property manager, talked to three concierge people, and even stopped by the front desk to try to talk to the property manager who said she'd call me back today but didn't happen. The amenities are great aka valet parking, urban terrace, business center but this is the 3rd time we've submitted a work order to fix our in unit washer and dryer where it's leaked all over our apartment destroying several pairs of my suede shoes and our carpet that stinks now. We got a new w/d after they realized it can't be fixed but it's happened again when we've cleaned our entire apartment for my moms visit and now there's crap everywhere because of where all the water has leaked! There's also a few other things that I don't want to mention until we've fully moved out but I'm really disappointed about what's happened in the last month and hopefully our nema experience will revert back to being normal when someone who actually cares will read this.

My 5 star review is mainly based on my experience with Aiden Tran. Moving is usually an extremely stressful time for me, however Aiden has been a sigh of relief through this process. He is probably one of the selling points of why I moved here instead of neighboring buildings. He has such an uplifting personality! He has been great at responding to my emails from day 1 of my interest in the NEMA. In fact, he took the time to provide me daily courtesy calls on the status of my application. I expressed my concerns and he worked hard and tried to accommodate my needs. I had a very nice gift from Aiden upon move in as well! Today, I just came back from my orientation tour and he completely brightened up my mood after an exhausting few days of moving in. He gave me such a detailed tour with such a positive attitude! I was delighted to learn that there are so many more perks than listed on the website. The NEMA treats you like you are a guest at a luxury hotel. I was worried of having to walk out and get stuff, but concierge literally brings anything you order straight to your door like room service. Also, on the NEMA resident's app, you can request valet have your car ready in a select amount of time while you are making breakfast! The only complaints I have so far are the cleanliness of my unit while moving in and stuff being worn down. The floors were a bit sticky and not the freshest. There were some stains and the insides of cabinets and fridge that were not wiped out or cleaned. I took care of it with a box of Clorox wipes. I expressed my concern with Aiden and he took care of it immediately and scheduled the building's cleaners to come the next morning. The maintenance crew is very nice and worked hard to satisfy my wants. They tried to get the areas of concern clean but some areas just simply need to be replaced. For instance, my toilet has stains in it that did not come out even after maintenance scrubbing it for half an hour. The toilet and bathtub are both a bit small and worn down. They should be replaced for a true "luxury feel" to the unit. Also, some parts of the walls and floors have scratches, push pin holes, and dirt in creases. The lights are a hospital white color. If these things were fixed, the NEMA would be near perfect. Despite these things, everything else is good. This is only my 4th day here, and I will update this review in a few months. So far, the price is high but seems to be worth it because of the luxury treatment at the NEMA versus other buildings who do not do as much for their residents. I just want to emphasize once again, Aiden is an amazing leasing agent and deserves an applause for his great work!
