Festive music & decor set the scene for a multicultural array of tastes from both Nepal & India.
"Like its sister location on Devon Avenue, Nepal House is a small sit-down restaurant serving Nepali and Indian dishes. The food is just as good at this location—opt for an order of not-too-doughy samosas and a plate of momos, plus a basket of pillowy-soft garlic naan to go with whatever curry strikes your fancy. Weeknights at Nepal House are fairly mellow, and it’s a respectable delivery option when you’re in dire need of some chicken tikka masala or palak paneer and can’t be bothered to put on real pants." - veda kilaru, adrian kane, john ringor
"Like its in the South Loop, Nepal House on Devon Avenue is a small sit-down restaurant serving Nepali and Indian food. We like this location a little more because the food is just as good (if not better) and it’s relatively mellow on weeknights. The menu has everything from Nepali BBQ to better-than-average North Indian staples—and you should opt for an order of not-too-doughy samosas and a plate of momos. There aren’t that many tables in the narrow dining room, but there are a few small booths that are perfect for a lone diner to settle in with a beer, a piping hot curry, and a basket of pillowy-soft garlic naan." - Veda Kilaru
"Nepal House is a small, semi-formal spot in the South Loop serving Nepali and Indian food. They do a lot of takeout business, but the space works for all sorts of dining scenarios. The menu is long, with everything from Nepali BBQ to seafood curries to a bunch of Indian vegetarian options. Their not-too-doughy samosas and spicy momo plates are the best things here, but you’ll be pleasantly surprised by a better-than-average meal of North Indian staples. Considering the lack of reliably good South Asian restaurants in the neighborhood, Nepal House is a respectable delivery option when you’re in dire need of some chicken tikka masala or saag paneer and can’t be bothered to put on real pants." - Veda Kilaru
