Everything we ordered was delicious and the portions were large. If you don’t want leftovers, I would recommend sharing entrees. Vegetable samosas, garlic naan, chicken korma, chicken tikka masala, chicken biryani, lamb vindaloo were all amazing

This place is DELICIOUS! We are vegan and it’s so nice to have lots of options for good, nourishing food. The staff is always nice. Relaxed atmosphere. We’ll be back!

Can’t suggest this place enough. I had bothered the veg dinner and noon veg dinner, on separate occasions of course since the portions are so huge, and they were both delicious. For $25, you can’t go wrong. The flavors were great and the staff was friendly. My friend also ordered the Papdi chaat, vegetable kofta, and garlic naan. They were all delicious.

Great spot! The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and the food is always great. They even gave us extra rice to take home for our leftovers. Try the chilli fried chicken momo!

Honestly one of the best meals I’ve had in a while. It’s fun to venture outside my comfort zone with food and Nepal house certainly hit the spot. If you’re looking for great service, a comfortable atmosphere, and a heartwarming dish, this place is your choice. Also very reasonable prices compared to other food chains in the area. The garlic naan was so tasty and the chicken makhani was superb. Will be back again!

Not being from the area, I have never felt so sad to walk away from a plate of food when I was full! The Goat Chili Masala was suggested by our waiter and it did not disappoint. I will talk about this meal every time I talk about our trip to Chicago. Great portion sizes, delicious Mango Lassi, and they know their spices. Amazing.

For a cozy curry in Old Town, Nepal House is hard to beat. The menu has a mix of Indian and Nepalese food. Momo, dal, tandoori, there's a range from bone-in goat curries to vegetarian food. We like the chicken and mixed veg pakoras, the dal fry, and the chicken curry.

STUNNINGLY BAD food! Not sure how this place is in business... but if they keep making food like we experienced tonight I'm sure they won't last long. I think their business depends on folks who don't know what Indian/Nepalesee food should taste like! We got Saag and Dal Makhani, Naan and pakoras. The Saag was stunningly bad - tasted like boiled frozen spinach with pieces of undercooked potatoes. The Dal (lentils) were also extremely UNDERCOOKED, lacking proper seasoning or spices with way too much cream (it was like eating cream with raw lentils in it). ABSOLUTELY TASTELESS AND UNDERCOOKED FOOD. Had to throw it straight into the bin, and I HATE food waste. The Naan and pakoras while not great, were at least edible. We did call the restaurant but got no resolution, almost like they didn't really care to understand what I was telling them. Terrible food and very disappointing customer service. I'd save your money and order from other Indian places instead.

I was eager to try Nepal House on my first visit. The staff were attentive and friendly. We ordered the chili fried chicken momos and the non-vegetarian dinner combo for two. While the momos were tasty, they were a bit too sweet for my liking. I really enjoyed the mattar paneer, but the chicken makhni was also overly sweet and seemed to have excessive food coloring. The tandoori plate was disappointing; both the chicken and mutton lacked the robust flavor typically associated with tandoori dishes. Overall, the ambiance and service were decent, but the food fell short of expectations and didn't justify the price.

This is a great addition to old town for a wide variety of nostalgic, satisfying dishes. Service is good. I really liked the paneer chow mein which was spicy and flavorful. The chicken momos were hot, fresh, soft and delicious--reminded me of Dehli! The tandoori chicken was pretty dry and lacking in flavor. It was also pretty overpriced for what you get

A great addition to the neighborhood. Casual mom-and-pop ambiance in contrast to the chic places in the area. Just good solid food. Nothing was too spicy, but it was all flavorful. The entrees took a little while to come out, so they offered us free pakoras, which were welcome and delicious. All the food tasted freshly made. The coconut curry on the fish was especially memorable. Be forewarned that the goat, while tender and flavorful, was on the bony side.

Stopped in on a Thursday afternoon for lunch. The place was absolutely empty, but did have a couple take out orders being picked up. Service was good, but could have been a little friendlier. The ambiance is set up nicely too and if it had a few more people there it would've felt nicer. We offered a salad to start. The salad itself was fresh but was served with yogurt and chutneys, no actual dressing which we thought was odd because the menu mentioned house made dressing. If it was just going to be yogurt, it should've been noted as such. The tandoori roti was nice, naan was tasty but a bit thick and doughy. The chole and kadhi chicken were both extremely delicious. Everything was prepared fresh and after we were done, we did not feel the food was very heavy as Indian restaurant food can sometimes be. Overall, would go back to try more dishes.

Was at Nepal House few months back. For the price I paid for food I wasn't expecting the quality to be so big and quality to be so good. Great service, delicious food for reasonable price for more than reasonable portions so what not to like.

I ordered online from here and loved it. All the food was good but I'll be coming back just for the dumplings. I never thought of Indian food with dumplings, but it was a hit.

Food was amazing! Authentic and a variety of options. Naan was perfectly baked and fluffy. Definitely recommend the pakoras for a snack and chicken tikka masala!

Really good spot. I've never had Nepalese food before and really enjoyed trying it. I had the chicken choila and chicken mo mos which the waiter said were two Nepalese favorites. Both were fantastic. The choila came with a cold potato salad and beaten rice. And a lemon to squeeze over the whole thing. It was great to contrast all of the different flavors, temperatures and textures. The mo mo were also great. Fantastic meal. It is a bit pricey. But what isn't nowadays? Highly recommend.

I went there with my family yesterday. We ordered a non-vegetarian combo and butter chicken it was pretty good and a huge portion. They also offer the vegetarian version as well. The food came out fast and the service was good.

This place is amazing! I loved dipping the onion bhaji in the mint/cilantro sauce and mix raita, which was also delicious on its own, and the butter chicken was SO flavorful, especially with the garlic naan. 10/10 will be back again. The service was also really nice, the employees are great! I haven't dined in yet, but I plan to soon! Check them out if you haven't yet!

Quiet little place. We went early and there was a steady stream of diners. Service was good - friendly and helpful. The samosas (pea and potato) were delicious. I had a goat dish that was good. I ordered 7/10 for spice and it could have been spicier. Hubby had saag lamb. I normally hate saag but this was really good. Also very mildly spiced. The naan was so, so good. I am a slow eater but never felt rushed and enjoyed this place a lot. One warning: servings are quite large. We were staying in a hotel nearby so couldn't take leftovers. Ate more than is advisable as a result!

Absolutely delicious food and wonderful service! We read the reviews before deciding to go and they did not disappoint. We had chicken madras, veggie korma, garlic naan and the house salad. We also enjoyed a mango lassi (of course!) and mango pudding (a first for us, but incredible!!). And we had plenty for leftovers. Can't wait to return!!

Decided to do a casual date night here and so glad we did! Food was really yummy & our server was incredibly sweet. Excited to come back & to get take out. Old Town needed a place like this!

We were just walking by but it smelled so good we stopped for dinner. Did not disappoint!! The food was freshly made and very flavorful! The chicken biryani was probably the best I've ever had!

Ordered out for dinner. My food and my partners food both were supposed to be boneless meat options, and we both would find bones in our food. The flavor was good, but I was so worried about the bones it took away from me being able to enjoy the meal.

First time posting on Yelp. I've been to this place twice for takeout, and it is so good. I ordered the Veggie Lo Mein, and it was the perfect combination of spicy, with a bit sweet. It's not the best block of Division (between Wells and LaSalle), but it's worth checking out!

just ordered carry out from this place for the first time - i could not be more pleased! absolutely delicious. i have a severe gluten sensitivity (but not celiac) and the chicken tikka masala hasn't given me any sort of reaction. cannot wait to eat here again!
