"Vegetarian food with great creative dishes for sharing. Daily specials (usually served in a bowl) plus an abridged dinner menu at lunchtime." - Rachel Tan

"Nenad Mlinarevic has brought in Fabian Fuchs (previously of EquiTable) to head up the kitchen team here. The cuisine is vegetarian, some of it also vegan – the fantastic creative dishes designed for sharing are also available as a surprise menu. At lunchtime the choice is more limited, with a few dishes from the evening menu. The pleasingly informal atmosphere is reminiscent of a modern gastro pub, and the service is spot on." - Michelin Inspector

As a meat lover, I was a bit skeptical about what to expect. However, having often visited Fabian Fuchs’ former restaurant, I absolutely wanted to give it a try. And it was fantastic – every course was an experience. I could have eaten more of everything and will definitely be coming back.

Food presentation at Neue Taverne is visually impressive, but the flavors felt somewhat unbalanced. Overall, it’s a bit overpriced for what you get. Service was good, though the dining room was uncomfortably warm and quite noisy, which took away from the experience.

Came here for my birthday to try a plant based fine dining experience and did not leave disappointed! In the heart of Zurich’s old town, Neue Taverne is known for seasonal dishes that are both creative and packed with flavour! We tried their Tavolata, a suprise menu consisting of multiple small vegetarian courses to share. Upon request you can even have it vegan so bonus points for that. My favourite of the bunch probably being raw white and red radishes that could be dipped into a savoury sauce consisting of all kinds of roasted vegetables which definitely contributed to a unique experience. Furthermore, the service was attentive and friendly, without being overbearing. On the other hand, while Neue Taverne has a stylish minimalist interior, I found that wooden benches and walls were a bit too plain and uncomfortable for a Michelin-starred experience. For me and my family it lacked the elegant and luxurious feel we were expecting but that may just be personal taste. Overall though we really enjoyed it and considering this is the cheapest option for a Michelin started experience you can get on Zurich, I will definitely come back!

Very nice place on the heart of Zurich old town. The food is all vegetarian and with seasonal ingredients. Everything was very tasty, my personal favorite the caviar. The staff were friendly, gave us recommendations and explained the dishes. Is on higher range of prices but is worth going for special occasions.

What a blast at Neue Taverne tonight! This place has completely redefined vegetables for me. The dishes are gastronomic masterpieces, bursting with creativity and flavor. The service is amazing—attentive and friendly, making the experience even better. The atmosphere is casual yet very elegant and slick, striking the perfect balance. Highly recommend for anyone looking to experience innovative plant-based cuisine in Zürich. Will definitely be back!

Excellent value for money. We loved the oyster root, zucchini, truffle brioche and miso eggplant. My best vegetarian place so far in Zürich

Wonderful restaurant we went on Friday evening ans had reserved a table online for 8:30pm. Out friends also had a table in the same place for 8:30pm so we arrived together and asked if we could be seated together. Given some tables were shared this was fine with the restaurant. However they were extremely busy and one person down in staff so they sat us inside briefly and then forgot to give us a menu for 40min or even to ask us if we wanted a drink. We were frustrated and hungry but could see they were trying and were just over run. We had arrived at the worst time and more importantly they apologised at least 8 times during the evening for keeping us waiting which I felt was extremely genuine and for this reason, I’m giving them a good rating. The 4 stars on service is because on this occasion they were missing a member of staff. The food was absolutely wonderful. We used to live in London and it was refreshing to find a restaurant in Zurich which that was working hard to be creative with ingredients and flavours. Every course was great We had the suprise 6course dinner but before it came, we Were so hungry we ordered two sourdough breads, which were tasty but the set course also had this so we had another two come Out and I think the waitress should have made a note to change this for the other type of bread so we had a bit of variety. Again maybe if they were not so busy this wouldn’t have happened and they would have given us something else … so we didn’t Get 4x same bread. As we essentially paid twice for it. Other than that, the food itself we tasty well pressed and in good portion sizes. We look forward to going back
