"Bangluck might be small, but this family-run Thai market in East Hollywood is packed with everything you could want for your at-home feast. There’s an extensive selection of curry pastes, fresh produce ranging from makrut lime leaves to eggplants, and an entire aisle dedicated to cane sugar. If you’re struggling to find a certain ingredient, the staff will happily point you in the right direction." - Brant Cox

Google
A great place in the Valley to get Asian groceries. Good selection of foods.

It's my first time coming here, to buy Thai tea mix and I'm glad I did, this is my new favorite store the prices are so much lower than other places. The people are nice I had a good experience.

Google
My first time here, to get Thai tea, and boba.I love this place. My new favorite store the prices are so much better and so far everything I need I find it here. I'm so happy that I found this store.

Love this shop for all my Thai cooking needs. Friendly staff and reasonably priced items.

Google
I went for fresh herbs and I wasn't disappointed. Gets busy at lunchtime but has a decent range of Asian groceries. Enter from rear laneway, where there is a large car park that could be designed better.

I get hard chicken every time I visit the store. The chicken gets soft very fast,& taste super delicious. They have other Asian foods too. You definitely want to check this place out.

The rice paper wrap is excellent plus the taro desert. Nice people

Bought coconut milk recently, didn't look at the expiration date. It had expired 3 months ago.

Yelp
I love this Supermarket. They have everything an Asian would need. They stock very well. Best fried fish (and shrimps) to take home and eat with rice! The service is good, just have to know and manage your expectations. Make sure you get your fish on the butcher top so that you would be served next. Don't wait for service at the fish side, only do that on the meat side but remember who you are behind and be loud if it's your turn. The store is fixing some stuff on the inside, but it's clean and straight forward. I've been shopping here for years and for many more to come.

Yelp
I like going to this Market, The only concern is the business hours. I was hoping they adjust the time from 9:00 am to 7pm Or 8:30am to 6:30pm so people who shops after work can do groceries with at least few minutes to shop. The reason i gave 4 stars is the business hours

Yelp
New Bangluck Market was a Thai specialty market in the past. Under new ownership am not sure what it's become; it was barely stocked. Workers are helpful and nice, unfortunately there was hardly anything interesting or fresh enough for me to buy here. It's an older market which I don't mind, but again low on inventory. I will say the market has here and there mix Southeast Asian products and if you live in the West valley in SFV then this place is as good as it gets.

Yelp
As a Vietnamese American living in the San Fernando Valley, this market is a gem. I love cooking Vietnamese food and I'm only able to find certain ingredients (certain herbs, brown chicken, pandan, meat bones) at this market. And the prices are cheap too! I'm always able to find parking in the back. I'm the weekends there are street vendors in the parking lot, but so plenty of parking. The service at the meat section is good. They'll let me pick the exact piece I'd like and they can cut or slice the meat as well. I especially come here to get beef bones, Filet mignon, oxtail, pork belly, brown chicken, duck eggs, fish, and shrimp. The produce is fresh and I come for the herbs and Asian veggies that I can't get anywhere else in SFV. I also get fish sauce, soy sauce, and chili sauce here. Though the Galleria and Ranch 99 carry these, they charge more than Bangluck does. Though this place is small and looks old, things are clean. Tip: occasionally things do sell out at the end of the day, so I recommend going earlier in the day.

Yelp
Great Thai market in this area. They had most everything I was looking for, even things I had never heard of, like sweetened radish for Pad Thai. When I asked for help to find a few things, the cashier was very friendly and helpful. Overall the market was clean, well lit and organized and had other Asian ingredients beyond Thai. This is definitely a find.

Pam B.

Yelp
Non-descript place - need to go back in the alley as the entrance is behind by the parking lot. You need some Thai spices perhaps Thai basil? They have it, main reason why I went. However unlike other Asian markets this place has limited choices. Had to pick through tomatoes as some of them are not plump anymore. Counters are all open they don't take card less than $10 but Apple Pay works so that's good. Parking in back is available - I would probably return if I have specific dishes that need Thai spices.

Yelp
Store is small but has everything like San Gabriel supermarket. I got the real rice ST rice grow and pack from Vietnam, seriously it tastes so good more than three Lady or Buddha... The meat department is good and chop meat as I in need. Thanks to All of You here. I will definitely come back to support this small own

O A.

Yelp
I'm not sure what's all the negative remarks about. Now here are some things to know... this is not Whole Foods type of place. It's a little whole in the wall place. The little ladies were so nice to me (I'm middle eastern). The prices were better than like your 99 ranch market comparatively. They had the Thai tea and other things that were Thai and Vietnamese related that you can't find other places. I personally really like this place

Kathy A.

Yelp
Great Vietnamese market! Has all the basics! Frozen fish and fresh herbs and produce! Noodles!

Taco T.

Yelp
Great market! Has lots of asian snacks and its cheaper than 99 ranch market and much closer. Lots of Vietnamese restaurant near by so you can place an order to go, shop real quick and get your food on the way out; vise versa. Everything is very neat and clean;staff are nice. Parking is free and there is a back lot. Has a good amount of fish selection. Lots of snacks, and drinks to try. Individually wrapped snacks are great to give for halloween or party favors. Great for kids and adults to try snacks for different culture. Please support this small grocery store.

Reese A.

Yelp
Hole in the wall Vietnamese market my family has gone to for years . Great customer service .

Kasandra N.

Yelp
Are you looking for Vietnamese food ?then this is the place.... This is the best market. I love that they have all kinds of unique snacks that you can't find in regular markets. I like you but my meat from here it's fresh and great price. It's a small market and therefore they have good service. One problem but maybe it's just with me ... it's clean but it's smells in there . Parking is not a problem at all they have a huge parking lot

Ralph F.

Yelp
Large choice of Asian products. Very helpful staff and willing to help with choosing which items you should try.

Harlan B.

Yelp
This is one of those places I love because there's so much nostalgia attached to it--I've been coming here since I was a kid (with my mom or grandparents). Now (over 20 years later) that I'm more capable of putting together my own dishes, it's still a place I frequent because it has most of my Asian/Filipino food needs. I honestly think not much has changed since I first came here as a child--except this place feels smaller (only because I'm bigger now). Way back when--when it was only Lucky's, Alpha Betas, Albertson's and Vons around--this was probably the only Asian market in the valley and even through the years with the rise of the 99 Ranch Markets and the Seafood City's and the Island Pacific's, I'm glad that this place has remained a staple. I come here more often than any of the other Asian markets because it is the closest one to me. Since this place is smaller, I come here only when I need my more basic or mainstream Asian foods and ingredients (that's actually kind of often): you've got your fish station that offers cleaning and frying, a butcher with all the common Asian cuts of meat, fish sauce, MSG, rice, produce, noodles galore, etc. I love this place, so as long as I'm in the valley, this will be one of my first go to spots for my Asian grocery needs--it always has been and it always will be.

Michael T.

Yelp
Been coming to this local gem for over 10 years now. Everyone at the market is so friendly and helpful when looking for a hard to find item. New Bang Luck market has the freshest meat and produce in the San Fernando Valley. Everything is always very well organized. Also they recently upgraded their freezer section with brand New Refrigerators so you can very easily see all items behind the glass doors. Definitely try their delicious foods prepared for grab and go right by the front registers.

Mey C.

Yelp
Lots of fresh ingredients from meats to vegetables. I buy all my beef bones to make pho from here and it cheaper than most Asian market around this area.

Lessa H.

Yelp
This store seems to always stay good running their business. Everything is always fresh and great finds on Asian food products. I appreciate when I walked in today, workers and even customers still have mask on. Lately, going to other stores to shop has been a bit difficult now that people do not keep mask on. I worry about covid spread and health of others. ( yes, I am fully vaccinated fyi. ) This place continues to very cautiously protect everyone. That definitely shows how much they care about customers. Another reason to keep shop here for all my asian ingredients and feel safe!

Trisha W.

Yelp
If you have an instant pot then you need to consider making pho ga in your instant pot!!! Stopped by Bangluck Market for some pho essentials: bean sprouts, Thai chili peppers (the tiny super spicy yummy ones), Thai basil, cilantro, lime, dried small vermicelli rice noodles, and fish sauce. I love their location. Plenty of parking in their shared private lot, lots of yummy pho restaurants next door, a really cool nail salon supply store. It's like a little Saigon. Highly recommend this market to anyone who's looking for fresh exotic produce. Very nice staff. They accept cash and credit cards. Bring your own shopping bags!

Emily G.

Yelp
I love this market. My go-to spot to cook most of my family's daily meals. Reading the other comments makes me laugh and think how dumb people are. We're during a pandemic. The manager is doing her best to keep HER workers safe and the market safe for everyone. But you have people here upset that they were told they need to enter through a certain aisle to keep the flow and 6 ft separate possible. And upset that someone called them out that they can't just do what they want. So entitled. I mean when you drive illegally and the cops give you a ticket, are you going to yell at the cop? No. Why? Cause you knew that weren't supposed to do it and you got in trouble. Same concept people. "the market stinks" comment . Like hello?? It's a market/butcher shop. You have fresh meat and fish there that isn't packaged like trader's Joe. What did you think meat and fish smells like flowers shop? When you're upset, you'll just pick on anything won't you. Next thing you know, you'll say how dare the produce sections smells like vegetables!

Jay M.

Yelp
Given the severe lack of Chinese/Taiwanese markets, Bangluck is really the only other option for Asian groceries (unless someone could kindly direct me to a place other than 99 Ranch or Seafood City). The majority of items I see are Vietnamese products, but you'll find Thai and Indonesian groceries too. It's clear this place hasn't updated in many years, and cleanliness isn't exactly the first thing you will notice, but the variety of produce here (when they're in stock) is usually fresh and of good quality. The frozen items are limited, but the seafood section has a decent selection to pick from. From sauces to mixes and noodles to marinades, there is a solid variety of dried items to pick from. There are pre-made snacks, desserts, and hot food items available which is nice. On the weekends, there's typically someone right outside the entrance selling fresh snacks--from papaya salad to fried banana and taro.

Elizabeth Q.

Yelp
BE CAREFUL when you buy fast foods here are old and soiled. I used to shopped here, but I have never ever come back again. Price is higher than other local markets.

Jo H.

Yelp
one of the best place you could buy for asian grocery stores beside 99 ranch market! prices are reasonable as well! during the weekends they are people selling asian snacks in the parking lot , should try! love their food!

Shelby O.

Yelp
I just have to say this store has the best quality products and what I really love about this store is that anytime I go in everything is organized and clean and they always are having customers wear their masks to protect everyone's safety because now a days I see alot of people not wearing mask and you just never know when we can go into a covid-19 surge. Overall I would give 10 stars if I could :)

Long N.

Yelp
Double thumbs up to this grocery store. It's honestly the best ones out of the valley where you will find all the international items you need to cook up good asian meals. Quality is great and very friendly people at the store. Tina is absolute best! She truly cares about great customer service and is very helpful when in need of anything.. she will literally go out of her way to do her best to help customers. Her kindness is above and beyond. Before she was there the place was a mess but now everything looks right on and cleanliness is perfection.

Conor B.

Yelp
Parking can be a hassle as the lot is kinda small for the amount of businesses it services. I tend to come here later in the night in order to avoid that. The market is small and filled to the brim with inventory, but if you're looking for that 'specialty' Asian item for your cooking, this is a great place to check out. I always seem to find what I'm looking for and the prices are fantastic. Also, don't be fooled. At first I thought this was going to be a Thai market, but it's predominantly Vietnamese. So if you're looking to make some homemade Pho or bahn mi...this could be the place for you! Help them out. It's a small locally owned shop with a very friendly and helpful staff.

Marlene F.

Yelp
I love this market from the fresh produce, to the meat and seafood department the prices are great. I especially love that you can have fish fried, meat cut as you like. Plenty of products for all your Asian cooking. The staff is great and there is plenty of parking.

Philip L.

Yelp
Why you are going to post a photograph which was more than 5 years ago. It doesn't make sense, I was there a couple of weeks ago, the place was so filthy and expensive.

Pomme A.

Yelp
If I pass that way, I always stop by to buy some Vietnamese stuffs like vegetables, baos and desserts. There's a variety of Thai products are sold here too. Fresh meats and fish are good and the prices are reasonable.

Lissa G.

Yelp
After spending a couple weeks in Thailand, I needed to try to recreate some of those flavors in my home kitchen. Bangluck was the nearest spot where I thought I could find what I needed. Like others have said, the feeling of cleanliness is not strong here, but that reminded me of Thailand, too! They had most of the things I wanted, either frozen or fresh (well, maybe not 'fresh' per se, but, you know), and everyone there I spoke with was nice. I definitely got some looks, being the only white girl in the spot at the time (especially since I wasn't just buying Pocky and ramen; palm sugar and shrimp paste for the win! The market is kinda small, the parking lot has plenty of space in the middle of the day, though you are sharing with nearby businesses, and prices seemed super reasonable.

Bank F.

Yelp
My weekly spot for asian grocery. Tina and Nit is friendly and helpful. Great selection of groceries and produce. A place to go to if you're looking to cook an authentic asian cuisine.

Dean P.

Yelp
Weird location and the store is a bit messy BUT....They have all the stuff you can't find anywhere else. Hard to find items from Thailand, Hawaii and Vietnam. The prices were phenomenal on the items I bought. I do wish it smelled better inside the store.

Julia C.

Yelp
So I didn't personally go here but my mom did and she brought me back so many vegan goodies!!! The tamarind candy is so fresh and so good they also have really good freeze dried fruits. I got a durian cake and sticky mango rice as well. I just couldn't believe how everything was vegan and has no preservatives.

Lynda L.

Yelp
I love this place for Vietanamese items and the great selection of to go food and variety of instant noodles. And we always order the bomb Vietanamese wings for parties.

Pauline T.

Yelp
Great resource for some asian brands and vegetables that are rarely found in regular grocery stores. Whenever I feel like cooking some Thai or Vietnamese food, this is the place to go. Great place to grab some Thai basil, and asian peppers. They also sell Vietnamese coffee but I'm not sure if they've discontinued selling the canister version. I've only seen the boxed version. They also sell the brewing cups for Vietnamese coffee. Way cheaper than amazon. The location is ok. There's lots of parking but there's an awkwardly placed curb/island between the parking lot and alley. I took off one star because this place is not as organized and I would like and they don't always have the freshest veggies in stock but when they do, it's game on!

S C.

Yelp
When did this place turn into a Vietnamese market? Did the Thai owner sell it? I go in and hear all cashiers speaking Vietnamese. No Thai? Anyways, they need to really scrub this place it's stinky and floors are gross. They don't have many Thai products like they used to. The prices are also higher than normal. Not sure I'll be coming back.

Evette R.

Yelp
Was in the mood to make Pad See Ew one day but needed the right ingredients. Found this place and they had everything, including fresh noodles for the recipe. It's pretty small inside but they had all the ingredients I needed. Oh, and it's in a Main Street so parking is on the back side. Just an FYI.

Ayyoub J.

Yelp
I bought plastic container and I didn't like it cause there was a warning on it it said you have chance to expose by the comical used in the container, I tried 10 minutes Later to return but the roud girl said we don't get return or refund, I left it there and I said I'm not worried for the 3 dollars, people are so mean at the market, I would never go back there,

Anna M.

Yelp
WORST MANAGER !VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, Power trip..Yells at me infront of other customers, about walking down wrong lane lines..I can't understand what she is saying, strong accent?Tells me no cashier will check out my grocery and for me to leave the store for not listening to her ,as I just walk out.

Jenn Y.

Yelp
My review is only for the premade food ordering section. I have only called and placed orders with them and have not actually tried their already made food. When I call to place an orders it's always for Viet Chicken wings and lately also for the Banh Xeo. I've had them before at restaurants and surprisingly I think the ones from Bangluck Market tastes the best. The chicken wings are full of flavor and crispy. I love ordering them for potlucks and parties. $20 for 30 pieces. Not bad at all. The bad reviews on yelp for the already made food are pretty bad. I hope I never find a bug in my food. My gf has been ordering from here for years and nothing bad has happened yet so I hope it continues to stay that way. The market is not very nice looking. Old building with a weird parking lot but the prices are good. It is what it is.

Dean R.

Yelp
i will never shop on this filthy supermarket again. the lady manager in front is so rude and intimadating to customers... self entitlement sort of.. also some of the milk theyre selling is already expired so read the label carefully.. and not to mention the whole shop really stinks.

Annie T.

Yelp
I've been going to this market for years. Definitely your one stop shop for all your essentials for great Asian Cooking. The have a great meat & seafood section. Love that they can cut bones & slice or ground your selected meats as requested. They can even prep & fry a whole fish so you don't have to do it. Makes cooking a lot faster. The fruit & veggies are fresh. Great selection of dry & canned goods too. But most importantly the staff & manager are friendly & they adhere to social distancing. Staff wears gloves and there is plexiglass at the register for extra protection. The manager does a great job enforcing customers to wearing their mask while shopping which is a good thing. Easiest way to keep everyone safe & that's why Bangluck will alway be my go to Asian Market!

Tom G.

Yelp
Well - they didn't have what I was looking for - so I decided to drive on into Thai town where I did find the stuff I wanted. Although Bangluck is a lot closer for me it failed to deliver this time. So I can't really rate it higher then "A-OK". Otherwise - it seems a basic sized market with enough basic Thai and Asian ethnic supplies to get by. Otherwise - parking is bit difficult and I've just seen many other markets which are better.

RiQue G.

Yelp
Thank you Ms. Manager and all the employees here @ Bangluck... Been a customer here since 1992.. Thank you for helping me for my 2 25 lbs. of rice during this pandemic... Ill be back for more shopping!

Kathy H.

Yelp
I didn't quite appreciate having a Thai market so close to my boyfriend's house until after visiting Thailand. On my most recent trip to Bangkok, my boyfriend's aunt made the most delicious home made dish with the main ingredient being sataw. Sataw aka stinky bean can be found growing in the southern part of Thailand. Sataw is definitely not for everyone as its scent and taste is way stronger than that of garlic. Though it has an intense flavor, I fell in love and craved it more than anything when I was back in the states. Thinking I can only have it in Thailand seriously bummed me out but my boyfriend's mom said Bangluck sells it in the frozen aisle. She surprised me and made it for me recently and although I was skeptical that it was previously frozen, it tasted exactly how it did in Thailand. Any time I'm craving sataw now I can just buy it here. I'm so glad this market exists! If I'm able to get a bunch of Asian products at a decent price, I'm definitely a happy camper.

Grace K.

Yelp
I love the friendly staff at this market! I appreciate how clean the store is and all the COVID precautions they are taking. I shop there often and love the variety of products! I just read a review stating that the manager was rude and they "couldn't understand her accent" I know the manager and she speaks perfect English! I'm wondering if this customer wasn't wearing a mask and that's the reason she was asked to leave. I have never seen any employee act or speak rudely to a customer! That review is really rude and not true at all.

Christine C.

Yelp
My go too market especially for pork because it's always fresh. And the staff are always nice and helpful. Tina is always there to say hello.

Hendrick H.

Yelp
The current manager - the daughter of the people who started the market - is AWFUL. I cannot imagine that her parents built this business by treating customers with such disrespect and open hostility. I am sorry to say good bye to the Bang Luck after having been a customer for 15 years, but I won't allow anyone to treat me the way she does. I have taken my business to the 99 Ranch (Sepulveda and Van Owen) or Hua Viet market (Sherman Way and Independence).

Larry A.

Yelp
Delicious snake in a jar dessert. Variety of snake to choose from for large family dinner order. First time I tried their snake soup. Very Tasty.

Andy V.

Yelp
Our go to Asian market in the valley. Nice variety of Asian cooking necessities and good appropriate Covid precautions for everyone's safety and health.

Jen L.

Yelp
Parking could be tough. There are a lot of businesses in the plaza. They have a deli/ hot food counter inside with some great chicken. Lots of Asian spices and goods for awesome home cooking. My go to spot of Asian snacks like hello panda
