Portland’s Best Gluten-Free Restaurants, Food Carts, and Bakeries | Eater Portland

"Gluten-free eaters have long loved this 100-percent gluten-free bakery for its cinnamon rolls, cheddar-chive biscuits, strawberry glazed doughnuts, and pizza dough. However, the real move here is to buy as many of its bagels as possible, fat and spotted with bubbles from a hot boil. New Cascadia is open for phone orders and online orders." - Sararosa Davies

The cinnamon rolls here are incredible and I am still thinking about them. My husband and I both had the bagel sandwich with ham and loved the bagels so much we bought some to take home. We also tried the brownie and the coffee cake - both were really good but the hero was really the cinnamon roll. Being a dedicated gluten free kitchen - it allowed me to order anything I wanted and that’s not a feeling I get often. Not to be missed - gluten free or not.

Google
Delicious and juicy and moist gluten-free bagel! I got the breakfast bagel sandwich and i really felt so grateful to find this place. It’s so rare that you find an actually good gluten-free restaurant where the food tastes like real food… but this place scratches that itch so well and makes me feel so happy. I also got the cinnamon Coffee cake and it was really fluffy and delicious. Highly recommend.

Mel

Google
Great gluten free bakery! Vegetarian pizza was incredibly good, and the sesame bagel made me feel like I was eating gluten again.

Google
Absolutely the best gluten-free breads I’ve ever had. Whether I’m in the mood for their incredible pizza or just stopping by to pick up fresh breads and desserts, this place never disappoints. As someone who’s gluten-free, it’s a joy to find somewhere that gets the taste and texture just right. Always worth the visit! ♥️

Google
As someone who is gluten-free, it’s always a delight to find an entirely GF bakery! New Cascadia Traditional exceeded my expectations. I enjoyed a flavorful matcha drink and their everything bagel with egg and ham—it was absolutely delicious. The open and welcoming atmosphere, combined with excellent customer service, made my visit even better. I can’t wait to return and try more of their amazing offerings!

Google
While in Oregon, my boyfriend and I visited three days in a row! We tried a bunch of different items on the menu, we enjoyed each item equally. The margarita pizza, maple donut, and antipasto flat bread sandwich were the highlights🤩 New Cascadia Traditional, if you read this… think about opening a spot in sunny San Diego, please😋

Jeff

Google
We went there for gluten free meals recommended by some friends. The pizza was really good, and it didn’t taste like any other gluten free ones that we had in the past. We had a chance to chat with the person working who was helpful in explaining different menu items. We went back again so my wife could get pizza one more time. Highly recommended!

Google
I will not go to Portland without going to New Cascadia. Their Holla Day bread is... *chef's kiss. It is the best GF bread I have ever had. I have never had anything from there that I didn't LOVE. The owner is exceptionally kind as well. This is a stop that is also a destination and worth going out of your way for. The pizza crust has AIR BUBBLES!

Yelp
I CRIED TEARS OF JOY! Not being able to have a "regular" donut has been killing me, so I took the drive early Saturday to finally try New Cascadia Traditional. I got the Matcha Latte, Breakfast Bagel (plain) with egg and cheese, and a maple bar. The latte was good, not too sweet, though not as hot as I like, ie burn my soul, but still refreshing and light. Not going to lie, the bagel sandwich was a bit meh. The bagel was perfection, soft and fluffy, but the filling felt it was missing something. In the end, I finished the bagel and left the rest (about half). Totally suggest getting some meat option on it and it would be much better. Now the maple bar, as I said, I have been craving donuts. I've even tried a few recipes but they always turn out a bit too dense for me. This donut though, it HIT THE SPOT! It is a bit denser than a standard cake donut but not like some of those other gluten-free options we've all ran into. Anytime I'm in the area, I will be popping into New Cascadia Traditional!

Yelp
Honestly, as someone who is newly gluten-free, it is so nice to have found somewhere that offers everything that's so delicious gluten-free! It is definitely worth a stop. They have coffee, tons of pastries and tons of breakfast options next time I am in Portland I want to try out their pizza!

Yelp
Gluten-free dairy free donut review: I stop here whenever I am in Portland to grab some donuts. They have a lot more so keep that in mind. We have been doing this for a long time because they taste like normal donuts! The o my thing is they are a hefty fee. 5 dollars for one. So skip the dozen but do stop and grab some. They have shrank a little I size. That was a little sad but I still go over to grab some because the flavor is far superior to any gluten free donut I have ever found. They did have a gluten free and vegan donut that was so delicious! They were happy to answer any questions. The parking is a bit hard to find but you can usually find some close-ish. I will be back to try some pizza soon! If you need a donut this is the place to be.

Yelp
Amazing GF restaurant and bakery in Portlands amazing GF food scene. It was so good we went for dinner the same evening when we had started the day with breakfast. The cinnamon roll was the best my wife has ever had and the pizza crust was so good at breakfast we took out a pizza that night. Had a lovely conversation with the owner, the cafe is nicely decorated and comfortable. 5 stars!

Yelp
I love their almond muffin (filled with almond paste) not too sweet though. Their orange chocolate scone is a must, lovely with coffee. Most recently I tried their biancaneve pizza because I saw how amazing they looked. After three years of being gf and living without good pizza, this hit the spot! Kind staff, lots of windows with natural light and a decent amount of seating (though it gets pretty busy).
google avatar

Carol T.

Yelp
This new location has more seating, roomier and the display counters show their GF products off well. A friend and I each had the flat bread sandwich ...a treat! Delicious My friend hasn't been here before & took home 2 small tubs of cookie dough (she really liked the chocolate chip cookies later at home.) The staff were friendly and explained the differences in products.

Yelp
loaf of Bread arrived to my house on the "best bye" date went straight to trash, waste of money told me I should have payed $40 in shipping to ensure it arrived faster

Stephanie U.

Yelp
Today I walked in and an employee just looked at me and said "Nope!" (???) After being denied service, I asked if they closed at 2, the employee said yes. It was 2:11 and I understand not serving after closing but I don't understand approaching me as if I was being denied service. (Lock the doors?) I've been costumer here since 2015 and this moment just seemed really out of pocket and mean!

Yelp
I recently went gluten, dairy, and egg free. I tried New Cascadia bread and was very pleased. Then, I got a craving for pizza and found my way here. Their website told me that they have limited pizza hours and we planned accordingly. We ordered a dairy free pepperoni. They don't allow any modification of their pies - I suspect they are made ahead of time and baked until they run out. It was a good pizza, with a thin and crispy crust. I sprinkled on red peppers and the husband added Parmesan sprinkles. We finished a 16" pie between us and are quite satisfied. Will I eat here again? Definitely. I will also definitely take their dough home for a homemade pizza night. The place is airy and bright, with lots of natural light from the windows and a cafe ambiance. This isn't a full service restaurant - bus your table and pick up your order - but the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I wish there were more dairy free but meaty options, though I don't blame them for sticking to the classics. I had a good time and am so glad I have this a go. I initially gave them 4 stars, then realized that I was comparing them with regular pizza joints where I CAN'T EAT. So, 5 stars for gluten free, dairy free, and even vegan options.

Yelp
This is my favorite place to go to for pastries and the best gluten free food. Their crust on pizza and sandwiches are unbeatable because it doesn't fall apart like you get with other gluten free hardstyle breads, oh and it's not too hard either!! You can easily forget that it is even gluten free the texture is that great. Then we get to their pastries which are just as great, I even love buying their take and bake items because you can make as any of an item as you'd like. My biggest recommendation when coming here is get a salted chocolate chip cookie and ask for them to warm it up a little bit, you will not be disappointed. The staff here is so nice and quick service even when the place is packed... Getting to that, even when it's packed there's so much seating both inside and out that I do not mind waiting! I love this place so much and I'm so grateful it is around because everything is safe to eat if you are gluten free or celiac!
google avatar

Hillary F.

Yelp
I'm celiac so for my bachelorette party we got pizzas from here. Everyone else eats gluten and couldn't tell. I will happily keep coming back here whenever I'm in Portland
google avatar

Lizelle G.

Yelp
Got a cinnamon roll and didn't check it till I got in the car. It was hard as a rock. Kind of sad because I was looking forward to it

Yelp
Finally got to try this place today. Was busy with a constant flow of people. Love that it is 100% gluten free. I got a maple bar, cheddar and chive biscuit, a loaf of bread and a margarita pizza. My friend got a pepperoni pizza. Maple bar was light and fluffy. The biscuits was delicious with some butter on it. Pizza was great. Didn't taste like gluten free crust and has a great texture. My friend who is not gluten free said that she couldn't tell it was gluten free. I haven't tried the bread yet but I'm guessing it's going to be good. Doesn't feel dense. Service was a little slow but it was really busy. Was loud at times but it was a Saturday morning. Will definitely go back again.
google avatar

Windy B.

Yelp
The place gets very busy on the weekends, so they don't make any menu substitutions or modifications. This meant I couldn't try their breakfast sandwiches; since I can't do dairy or soy, the regular and vegan options were off limits if they can't accept any changes. However, I enjoyed the other baked goods: chocolate Orange scone, blueberries muffin, and rustic loaf.
google avatar

Lisa H.

Yelp
I was amazed by the selection and the pizza was delicious. I had the veggie with caramelized onions, we didn't miss having cheese on it at all. I bought some sandwich bread and bagels to bring home to Washington and it is one of the best gluten-free breads I've ever had.

Brittany J.

Yelp
The food is delicious, the pickle pizza rocks my world. Their doughnuts and other pastries are delightful. They have cracked the code on wheat free delectables. Anyone I've interacted with was nice and helpful, and there's plenty of seating for eating in or waiting for a Togo order.

Linda G.

Yelp
I was so excited to visit a celiac-safe restaurant, but I should have followed my gut with various red flags. The day that I went, there was a sign that said they were closing early due to the pizza chef being under the weather. That should have been an indicator not to have even walked inside because I spent the rest of the night having diarrhea. A cart of dirt dishes near the register was pretty disgusting. Lastly, the person at the register had their mask on, so they were probably sick. My garlic knots were undercooked and there was no indication the veggie pizza was vegan and sauce-less. I would have preferred having some red sauce and cheese, but got way too many onions as the base of the pizza instead. I definitely wouldn't go back the next time I'm in Portland

Yelp
I always enjoy New Cascadia's bagels and Holla-Day bread! This time I enjoyed the biancaneve pizza and chocolate doughnut! So good!! I don't remember the last time I had a gluten free fried doughnut!

John H.

Yelp
We have finally found a pizza dough that is worth making and eating that is Gluten Free. No more going out and trying to find a good GF pizza. We live in Redmond, WA and have been buying bread, buns and bagels on line and have them shipped to us. We decided to try the pizza dough and were completely amazed. It puffed up and ate like a true airy pizza. I am in love with this dough and how well it cooks on our Big Green Egg. Thank you, Cascadia!!
google avatar

Rachael R.

Yelp
Their challah bread is heavenly. Love their bagels so much especially after years of not being able to have them. Pie crusts during the holidays are spectacular and their pizza is just amazing. Huge fan and will always tell everyone I know to go there to change their mind about gf bread :)
google avatar

Yelp
The best gluten free baked goods I've ever had! I used to buy their stuff when I lived here 12 years ago and they've evolved to near perfection since then! We were passing through on our way back from the San Juan Islands and had to stop for some gf goodness. I had the chive bacon biscuit (warned with butter) and had a religious experience eating it. I broke my keto plan for this and it was so worth it! I also had a chocolate orange scone that was to die for. My daughter got a box of pastries and I've never tasted better gf donuts.
google avatar

Yelp
Great gluten free bakery. Maple bar was tasy. Folks working were friendly. Egg sandwich and bagels were tasty as well. Pretty much the only gluten free bread I'll actually eat AND ENJOY is from New Cascadia.
google avatar

Yelp
I accompanied My boyfriend who has celiac because I wanted to have a light breakfast together. We ordered an everything bagel, maple bar, and cinnamon bun. The bagel was too hard and dense as if the dough didn't cook all the way, I've had better Gf bagels from Whole Foods. The maple bar tasted kind of stale and the cinnamon bun was the best item we got. The lady ringing us up was nice, she was wearing a hat. The rest of the staff were kinda awkward.... I wasn't sure if it was just me but I felt like they kept staring at us weird. My honest opinion is that there are tons of other Gf bakeries and eateries in Portland... I've tried lots of them and this one was a miss for me.
google avatar

Maria N.

Yelp
Wow wow wow... had the chive biscuit, cinnamon muffin and tried the everything bagel with cream cheese. Absolutely delicious. The service was stellar as well. Super clean and bright store. Try the chive biscuit! GF or not, it's amazing!

Yelp
I'm not Celiac, but I do need to try & avoid gluten when I can, so it's great to have a bakery to go to where I can enjoy yummy baked goods to my heart (& tummy's) content. It's nice that they have some plant-based goodies as well, AND they offer both sweet & savory options including pizza & sandwiches. We've enjoyed their breads & bagels available at our local New Seasons grocery store in WA for a couple years now and finally got around to visiting their bakery cafe in Portland. I recommend following them on Instagram for updates on daily specials. And their daily specials apparently tend to sell out quickly, so act fast if it's something you really want. They have seating both inside & out, too, if you want to enjoy a meal or treat there. We picked up a variety of treats & all were delicious: -Ham & Cheddar Brioche Rolls -Cupcakes, Lemon cupcake w/passion fruit curd filling -Coffeecake Muffins (our favorite) -Donut bars with peanut butter & chocolate glaze I do have a couple suggestions for improvements on the operations side in things: -the display case with their prepared baked goods is directly in front of & next to the cash register, so the person ordering and the line of customers waiting mostly blocks your view. It would be nice if they rearranged so you don't have to quickly try to take it all in and decide what to order when you get to the cashier. -their website says they don't accept substitutions on their made-to-order food options, such as their sandwiches & pizzas. It would be nice if they would allow some minor substitutes such as type of cheese on a sandwich (because I can have cheddar, but I can't have provolone), or pizza (like leave off the one ingredient I'm allergic to). I forgot to ask about this in person when we visited, so perhaps something simple like this would be possible, it's just not indicated that way on their website.

Madi S.

Yelp
Very great gluten free option! I am visiting from out of town and always love to check out the local GF bakery when I travel and this one did not disappoint. The staff was friendly and I really enjoyed sitting in the cafe. The breakfast sandwich was fresh and great and had a nice sauce on it. I also took some bagels to take back home!
google avatar

Poca H.

Yelp
Food sensitivities are real challenges and requires a lot of trust to a business if you don't want to end up with pain and regret! So I super appreciate this bakery because I can endulge sometimes and have pastries back in my diet , which I love! The vegan pizza is a real option I can count on , also the staff is always super friendly!
google avatar

Charlie T.

Yelp
Came here after eating some delicious food across the street and needed something a little sweet. We tried the chocolate bar and the vegan chocolate chip cookie. But items were pretty good. The vegan chocolate chip cookie was well made and actually tasted better than the chocolate bar in my opinion.
google avatar

Joyce G.

Yelp
I went to New Cascadia twice this week, and I won't be back. First complaint: there is only one small menu to look at, and it is right at the register. So you can't see a menu in advance to decide what to order. This means the line moves VERY slowly because every person has to wait until they get to the front of the line to look over the menu and decide what to order. So lame. Why can't they hang up a menu? Or put one towards the back of the line? Or....have multiples? Second complaint: the sandwich menu actually has this written on it: "We politely decline substitutions and alterations." What?! Seeing as they are a gluten-free bakery, I would expect them to be more accommodating to other potential allergies or aversions people might have (if, for example, somebody can't eat eggs or cheese). I've never seen that at another cafe, ever. Really unfriendly. Also, the blueberry muffins we ordered were really gummy and only had a few blueberries on top (none inside). The bagel sandwich I had was good. But overall, just a really disappointing experience. Maybe better to just get a loaf of bread or pizza and avoid the "cafe" experience?
google avatar

Maria T.

Yelp
Love the gluten free bagels, they are chewy just like real bread. All their Gluten free bread is amazing. Oat muffins are delicious for a gluten free and vegan option. I drive 40 minutes and it is worth every minute.
google avatar

Brenna C.

Yelp
Amazing gluten free pastries, breads, and food! Love their seasonal doughnuts and their breakfast sandwiches. The pizza is amazing and I'm glad they're now extending their hours on Fridays and Saturdays!
google avatar

Quinn J.

Yelp
Celiac friendly, polite staff, ok price. Some of the items are not going to wow a non-celiac, but their pizza dough has a stretchiness to it that other places don't and most of the pastries are delicious.
google avatar

Yelp
Came here around 8am to get myself some gluten free food. I came in from out of town and was extremely excited because portland has some great gluten free food and this place has phenemenal ratings and it exceeded my expectations!!!! So i got the breakfast egg sandwich on a cinnamon raisin bagel with egg, dairy free cheese, spinach and tomatoes. This was amazing However what threw the ball out of the park were the pastries. I got the horchata donut bomb. I ate it outside and RAN back in for more! When I oredered more, I got the pumpkin spice donut bomb, the maple donut, buttermilk muffin and the peanut butter cookie. The latter items ordered, I actually flew back to Phoenix with! Still eating them one day later and are amazing. The donut bombs have filling on the insdie and a glaze on the outsdie and dont even taste like theyre gluten free (not sure what their secret is) THe maple donut is just to die for- I truly dont know how theyve mastered the texture but I will be back my next time in town. ADDITIONALLY I was reading the reviews and saw that the owner went above and beyond with a customer who didnt recieve her full order by refunding and hand delivering it to her. That is some phenomenal customer service- shows you how much pride they have in their product!! Thank you for having me guys!

Steve A.

Yelp
Flat bread anti pasta sandwich was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had, and I'm 62 so I've had a few. Also the bakery was very clean. Definitely will come back when we are back in Portland!
google avatar

Jeannie D.

Yelp
Wow!! I feel like I won the lottery! I've had "gluten-free" donuts from another place that were just the cake style with wet (never dried) frosting. THESE ARE LIKE REAL REALLY FANTASTIC DELICIOUS DONUTS! Donut bombs for the WIN!!!!!!! I am SO impressed and ridiculously excited to go back to this place for more gluten-free goodness!! Holy smokes the donuts tasted just as good the next morning!! Way to go, you guys have made my pastry dreams come true, thank you thank you!!!! Can't share a picture, I ate ALL OF THE DONUTS already :)
google avatar

Nancy C.

Yelp
We LOVE this place! One of our favorite spots in Portland. Their gluten free maple donut tastes just like a normal one and it leaves you wanting another one. We came three mornings in a row when we were in town because we had to try all of their items. My favorites from top to bottom of what we tried: breakfast sandwich on their biscuits, their maple and chocolate donuts, their donut holes/balls, and their bagel breakfast sandwiches. Their biscuits are phenomenal. I wish those we're available to take home and bake! They're so soft and full of flavor. We also bought a loaf of their challah bread to take home and it was so, so wonderful!!
google avatar

Gisele M.

Yelp
Celiac here. This place was amazing and honestly very reasonably priced for gluten free food. Those who don't eat gluten free would probably feel that it's pricey but it's honestly good. I got the day old artisan loaf, take and bake cinnamon rolls and then tried a vanilla bean donut, blueberry muffin and coffee cake muffin in store. Everything was amazing. I made the cinnamon rolls today and my muggle husband ate 3 and said they were some of the best cinnamon rolls he has ever had. Highly recommend this place.

Yelp
I have been meaning to profess my undying love for this bakery for two years and finally am ready. Hands down, my favorite bakery for bread and donuts I have ever been to. I go here almost every week, for one thing or another, and I gotta say, they never disappoint. Their maple and chocolate bars are my go to. Seriously, they are so light and delicious. Not too sweet either, which I love. Beyond that, the coffee cake is moist and flavorful, their bagels are the real deal, their breads are all delicious, and their take & bake pizza dough is easy to make at home (and tastes pretty good for cooking in our mediocre electric oven). Their pie crust has been a new favorite for quiche I make at home. Flaky, light, crispy perfection. Come here. You'll find some things you love, and some things you like - but I have yet to try something that is not good.
google avatar

Makaelyn J.

Yelp
We came at 11:30 ish the line was out the door. It moved some what quick. There was little to nothing left but at the same time it's first come first serve. The flavor of the strawberry doughnut was great it was just a little hard/ stale but like I said first come first serve , it would've been fine if we came earlier. I wish it was bigger it was smaller than my hand. The matcha was great and the bagel was great as well. I wish it came with more cream cheese. Open seating, great vibes, the workers were nice and friendly. Bathrooms were very clean. Over all it was good. This was my first time at this location on Division. I've heard better things about the other one.

Yelp
Food that feels like coming home. If your Gf/Celiac and happen to stumble into this place you'll immediately feel like you belog here. The food isn't just good for GF, its great food despite being GF. The only knock on this place is that it's not here in Colorado. But, if you find yourself in need of refuge by way of food, this is the place.

Yelp
New Cascadia has outdone themselves! Whoa! Sooo, I eat gluten, (not often), but, my wife is gluten-free, & wow, I could not tell that New Cascadia's donuts or cookies are gluten-free! Their pizza is also very good: best dough: chewy and crunchy (but, it has that weird gluten-free taste at the end of each bite). Still, it's my wife's favorite pizza in Portland. I'm not a big fan of any their bread; it's too soft for me & has a weird aftertaste. I would also not recommend their espresso; it's very watered down. However, where they excel is in the texture & flavor of their desserts. Their donuts are phenomenal: best maple bar EVER!!! Moist, chewy, layered with Oh my God delicious wonderful flavors!!! And, the holidays offerings are awesome!!! We got a box of each type of cookie (& ate pieces of them in the car!). My personal favorites of the holiday cookies are the Sufganiyah, a Jewish jelly donut. I didn't even think I liked jelly donuts! But, again, the fluffy chewy texture with a bit of crunch on the outside: whoa! It's amazing! And, paired with the jelly (is that raspberry?) is SO good!!! Also, a big favorite: the white & dark chocolate cookie with cranberries. Chew texture. Great dark chocolate flavors -- really good chocolate! MMMM Good!!! I'd also recommend the gingerbread cookie. Flavorful and chewy and thin. So good! Their snowflake sugar cookies is beautiful and has a wonderful texture! It's a bit bland for our taste. We got the dough -- which you can get raw to bake yourself, & I think we'll be adding lemon zest & maybe some vanilla. Wish it had more of a buttery taste. But, it's okay. We also got the peppermint sandwich cookie made with, I think, the sugar cookie dough. It wasn't super minty but it was nice. Their usual vegan (gf) chocolate chip cookies are the BEST cookies: chewy, tender, & melt in your mouth good! This is a phenomenal bakery! I would highly, highly, highly recommend their donuts and cookies! Wow. Having this today has made my day. Maybe even my week. ;)
google avatar

carmen k.

Yelp
Omg! The bread and bagels are so good! They almost didn't taste or feel gluten-free. We got a bagel breakfast sandwich, a biscuit breakfast sandwich and a gluten-free vegan breakfast muffin. My only complaint is the biscuit used for the sandwich was a tad bit on the small side. We also got their pizza crust dough to make our own gluten free pizza and a loaf of their raisin bread. The pizza dough got nice and crispy in the oven. Way better than any gluten-free pizza dough we've tried to make from scratch. We'll have to go back to give some of their other goodies a try!

Yelp
Lucky I'm even giving this one star. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. Sold AND GAVE part of my order to the person in line behind me (was the last item) then made me go to the back of the line and wait 20 min to order and pay again. Food and drinks then got cold and had to stand in line instead of enjoy a treat with my family. All the manager (lady with grey curly hair) had to say was "sorry you had a bad experience". And the food and drinks seriously sucked. Trader joes gf bagels are monumentally better than the garbage they serve. Waste of time, money and energy.
google avatar

Mel L.

Yelp
I knew my trip to Portland would not be complete without a trip to New Cascadia. We got there a little later than we wanted (about 40 minutes before closing on a weekday) and they were mostly sold out which sucks for me, but is a good indication that they are a legit spot! I was able to snag some loaves of bread to take home, and I also got some cookies and a passionfruit donut. The donut was just okay, but the cookies were so good! Some of the best gf cookies I've tried. Both the peanut butter and the chocolate chip cookies are musts. Out of the loaves I purchased, I tried the raisin bread which was very good and didn't have that heaviness you can sometimes get with gluten free bread. The breads are available for online order, not sure about the cookies and pastries. Next time I visit I will be sure to get there early for the best selection. I'm still thinking about those cookies.

Yelp
First visit on Sunday and really enjoyed it. Fellow Celiac friends recommended we try this gluten-free bakery and the staff were pleasant and swift. Highlights were the fried maple bar doughnut and the mushroom savory roll. Not as into the bagels but not bad for gluten-free. Would love to visit again and try more goodies next time!

Makiah J.

Yelp
One of the only celiac safe gf bakeries in Portland. Been coming here for years. Everything this bakery makes daily is the best! I come almost daily for donuts. The vegan donuts are my favorite because they are a different texture than the ones with eggs. Pizza dough is incredible. Only thing I've noticed is with the daily made donuts sometimes they don't put enough cream in the middle. So a little inconsistent. But the staff is extremely kind and gave me new ones! Try the Boston Cream donuts on the weekend

Yelp
Delicious food. Excellent service. Nice ambiance. The plant based peaches and sweet cream donut is absolutely delicious.

Yelp
Beware of the Bad Muffin A woman employed by New Cascadia Traditional has ended our love affair with the business -- as she apparently also has with other patrons too. We won't go back, and can't recommend the business due to this employee's utter lack of empathy or desire to resolve a simple serving error. Before writing this review, I figured I'd read what other's are saying -- Then I saw a "near identical" post to what I am about to write from someone else told to go to the end of the line by the same employee (See post by Chloe J. 8/13/22). I don't know the circumstances that situation, but clearly there's a pattern. How can the owners of New Cascadia knowingly employ such a Bad Muffin to represent their business? [ We do not know the owners, but only of them and their fine work to create gluten free options. ] Our experience on Saturday -- We were delighted to stop at New Cascadia Saturday morning and got into line. At the front of the line, the woman with red hair was delightful, warm and helpful. We discussed the interesting mushroom muffin at length and ordered it along with our bagels. After ~15 minutes, our order came up. When I approached the counter I noticed the muffin we were excited to try was missing. ** The woman grey/darkish hair ** who put our food out examined the receipt and informed me it wasn't on the order -- and that was it, no inquiry if we still wanted it, no caring whatsoever. I asked if we could please get the muffin and I'd be happy to pay for it. She simply told me to get into line again. There were several people in line and seemed very insensitive to be asked to go to the end of the line. [ I do not recall hearing or observing *any* offer / indicator she would start warming a muffin for us as I would have felt quite positively if such an offer was extended. ] I walked away as our food would get cold while I stood in line again. As we ate our bagels, I felt deeply disappointed and unvalued as a customer with the experience. I decided to go up again hoping that there might just be a simple miscommunication in resolving the missing mushroom muffin. I motioned for another employee to listen in as I explained how much we were looking forward to trying it and would be happy to pay for it, but it was impractical with our schedule to wait in line all over again. She was completely unreceptive. I said we were deeply saddened by the experience -- she said, "I'm sorry you feel that way." and walked away. To us, the better answer would have been to give the proverbial apology for the error (regardless of whomever's fault), and allow me to pay immediately after the current customer at the register next to me. This way we could enjoy the warm bagels already served rather than standing in line all over again as they got cold. We don't feel we can go back and it leaves an empty spot in our hearts. We spend money with good warm kind people and vote with our dollars. Clearly this rare experience got to me deeply enough to write a first negative review ever. [ Note: This review has been edited to remove any potentially unfair feelings expressed as we hope for the business to thrive. It's hard enough to do business w/o Bad Muffin employees or poor reviews. Clearly there was a breakdown that morning that resulted in lost business and muffins. ]

Yelp
I can't speak to the quality of the food but our experience there led us to leave without buying anything. My husband has extensive food allergies and they were good about answering questions. However they were completely rigid about altering any prepared food. Our only request was to leave the cheese off a sandwich or pizza. They flat out refused. We weren't asking for it to be replaced with anything, just to leave it off. I get being unwilling to make extensive changes or modifications, but leaving cheese off a sandwich is not a big ask. You lost a customer today.
