We came to the lobster supper on a Wednesday evening around 5:45. There didn't appear to be much of a line but we learned that the lineup to pay first, then get in a line for the lounge, then give your name at the front and move to the lounge. In totally we probably waited about 35-40 mins to be seated. We were eventually seated downstairs, which was quieter, cooler, and right beside a window that had a lovely view of the river.
For our meals, I chose a one pound lobster, and my partner the hot ham as she does not eat seafood. Once we were seated, our server, Evan, explained the process to us. We started with delicious bread and butter, and then came the mussels. As I was the only one eating them (my partner does not like seafood), I asked Evan to bring a smaller amount to the table than the large bucket I saw other tables getting. I worked my way through them - they were fresh and simply cooked (steamed, I think). The seafood chowder was also good. Evan informed us that we could have more of anything except the actual lobster - but I found it difficult to judge how much of everything I might want and still have room for my lobster and dessert. After the mussels came a small plate of salads - coleslaw, garden salad, and potato salad. All covered in paprika, FYI for those who might not like paprika.
And then it was time for the main event. My lobster came pre-cracked which certainly made it easier to eat. I requested a lobster bib and they also have paper placements with instructions that I found helpful for making sure I didn't miss any lobster meat. The lobster was small as I only chose the 1 lb but it was completely sufficient considering all the other food. I got mine served hot but there is a cold option as well. My partner had the hot ham and reported that it wasn't very good, that the scalloped potatoes served with it had no flavor as well. After my lobster came our choice of desserts - we chose chocolate cake and coconut cream pie. Both were quite delicious, and I had tea with mine as well.
Overall, for what it was, the meal was good. It's not something I would choose to do again, because meals based on volume are not something I normally choose (I don't like to eat big meals because of acid reflux). However, given that this was a "must do" Island experience, I'm glad we made the effort to try it out. I would recommend it to anyone wanting the 'lobster supper experience', as well as anyone who likes to eat unlimited food at their dinner.
