Came with a small group of three and ended up eating a lot more than I expected! We had the pork belly and chicken, and all the meat was really well made! Staff was attentive and even patient when we weren't so sure what to choose. Will be coming back in the future!

Terrible service and the most condescending owner I’ve ever met! From the moment we sat down, there was zero warmth, no greeting, no water refills, nothing. When our meal arrived, they didn’t even bring the Korean small dishes that are supposed to come with it. We asked, and the owner flat-out told us, “You eat small dish after pancake,” as if we didn’t know how to eat. When we tried to ask which menu item he recommended, he sneered, “Everything is good,” in the most sarcastic tone, basically making us feel like idiots for even asking. The arrogance was unreal. The worst part? My friend, who is pregnant, got yelled at for simply using the grill tongs to pick up fully cooked meat. The owner actually stormed over and forced us to move the meat exactly where he wanted it, like we were children being scolded. It was insulting, controlling, and downright disrespectful. This was supposed to be a nice meal with friends, but instead it felt like being trapped in a nightmare run by a rude control freak. Save yourself the anger and humiliation, there are so many other Korean restaurants that will actually treat you like a guest, not like garbage.

Google
It’s a solid spot. The cuts of meat are pretty tender and plenty flavorful. The cold noodles were very good and the pancake was also very filling. I do agree with the other reviews though as the portion sizes left something to be desired. The service itself was decent although they cook it for you and at one point they were so busy they left the food cooking until it burnt. I don’t really blame them, but it’s just something to note. Overall though, it’s pretty good food and it’s a nice kbbq experience with friends.

New Jang Su is a Korean BBQ restaurant hidden away in a mini mall area in Burlington. We came here for dinner, and the staff were quite friendly and welcoming. There was a lot of people in the restaurant, so service could've been slow at times, but overall it was moving quite fast and responded as soon as possible. As for the atmosphere, one thing that was kind of odd was the presence of the kitchen within view of the seating area, which didn't really bother us but did make it sometimes smoky in the area, even with the fans. The food was good. I enjoyed the korean bbq we got. They cooked in tinfoil on top of the grill, I'm not entirely sure why but probably because of grease is my best guess. The banchan was good, and they had good lettuce to use for meat wraps, probably the best lettuce I've seen used. The prices can tend to be a bit on the expensive side, especially when compared to AYCE places. Overall, its a good place to try.

DO NOT COME HERE TO EAT, thank you. The other bad reviews were all right. To be honest, not trying to be racist or anything but from my observation they only treat their Korean customers nice. As soon as I came to the restaurant, I spoke English saying to we have three people. but for some reason the man kept saying Korean to us but obviously I don’t speak Korean and I also not Korean. I think the restaurant is run by a family. The mom compared to the others was nice. The dad was rude and he was the one serving us. He overcooked the meat and we were trying to close the fire but he got annoyed us doing that. The meat portion was tiny and it is very over expensive compared to the portion it has. We only got a small bowl of lettuce and when asked for another small portion of white radish, kimchi, and lettuce they charged each an extra $2. The son of the family (probably the cashier) gave us the check without we asked for it. We only just finished the food and started enjoy the hot tea while talking, here goes the bill check. We neither asked for it nor making any kind of comment saying we were ready to leave. When I was filling the check for the tip, the son came over saying that “if you are not leaving then I have to make you guys sit at the empty tables.” I know the place is getting busier but there is obviously other empty tables. I have never seen a restaurant like this making their customers leave. Don’t come here.

Excellent Korean BBQ restaurant! Food is really delicious, Service is 5 star, they cook the food for you and check on you from time to time, they grill meats to perfection, the sides are incredible, atmosphere is so homie and very inviting, staff are incredibly nice. Highly recommended specially to my fellow filipinos out there, you need to check this korean restaurant. Long drive was worth it.

Google
AGGRESSIVE and CONTROLLING owner! I honestly cannot believe this restaurant is still in business. The service was beyond terrible, it felt more like being scolded in school than dining out. The older man running the place was extremely AGGRESSIVE and CONTROLLING!!! At one point, I placed a pancake on the grill, and he literally ran over, yelling at me “ DONT DO THIS!!!” in such a loud and angry tone that every table stopped and stared, as if I had done something awful. It was humiliating and so unnecessary. On top of that, he insisted we eat in a certain order, yes, literally telling us how we were allowed to eat our food. What should have been a casual, fun meal turned into one of the most uncomfortable and disrespectful dining experiences I’ve ever had. We left feeling more stressed than when we walked in. If you’re looking for a place to enjoy good food and feel welcome, this is definitely not it.

Google
Disappointing Experience – Won’t Be Returning We’ve come here total of 4 times for the good food and the kind hispanic guy who sometimes serves, but today’s service was the final straw. The man who seems to be the owner gave us one of the worst service experiences we’ve had. He was cold, dismissive, and noticeably more welcoming to Korean customers which felt discriminatory. We ordered just some appetizer and an entrée to share, and were clearly judged for it. Being treated as “less than” because of how much you order is unacceptable. We have spent a lot before with big family party and spent more than 200$. To top it off, the fried food smelled like it was cooked in old oil. I rarely write reviews, but this was disappointing enough to speak up. Good food doesn’t make up for being treated poorly. We won’t be back.

Yelp
In MA, we really do have such a limited selection when it comes to KBBQ spots but I'm so glad I discovered New Jang Su BBQ, in Burlington! I have been meaning to try them out for a while now and luckily for me, we were in the area at Burlington Mall, so we popped in here for dinner after some shopping. They are a la carte and family owned. It's definitely a little old looking inside but still, very worth going to. We ended up ordering a chap chae, spicy pork belly, and beef short rib. It was more than enough for two people! They cook the meats for you, which was nice ;) The meats were well marinated and quite tasty. A little pricey, however, KBBQ in general is pricey lol. ***must order two meats/table*** Chap chae/japchae had great flavor and I LOVED IT SO MUCH OMG. We couldn't finish it so we took it home and I finished it literally right when we got back because it was that good. The owners were very nice, especially the lady owner. She was super sweet and kept checking in on us throughout our meal. Parking: large lot with plenty of free parking spaces! Overall, I would totally come back again when craving Korean BBQ and in the area ;))

Yelp
Have been dining here for years, before the "new". The best traditional Korean BBQ around this area with the best marinated galbi. Bonchon is skim but one should request for refills with every order. All the dishes are authentic. The servers grill the food for you to ensure nothing falls thru the fire grill and meat is cooked properly. They might seem rude but there are some language barriers. There is fire to deal with so they are quick to manage this and prevent diners from danger. Ambiance is basic and limited party size can fit around any one BBQ.

Yelp
Scrolling through the other reviews of this place were truly disheartening. Sure, the place seemed to be a little rundown, but this greatly amplified the experience. New Jang Su came across as authentic and time tested. The staff were courteous, friendly, and genuinely helpful. The woman who sat us at our table helped explain the menu to me without hesitation or any signs of frustration. Truly a blessing for a first timer. The first time I can remember having authentic Korean food and my only regret is not ordering the barbecue; the smells emanating from the kitchen were delightfully aromatic in the best ways and didn't help at all to cure my hunger pangs. I opted for the Chap Chae lunch special and was pleasantly surprised when it arrived. A generous portion with a variety of side dishes, I knew before I took my first bite it would be nothing short of immaculate. The noodles were cooked to perfection, the vegetables sautéed down to the perfect balance of soft and crunchy, the pork perfectly grilled, and all tied together with a delectable blend of uniquely Korean spices and flavors. I finished my meal and half of my daughters and although I could've stopped after half of mine, the pristine delectability simply wouldn't allow it. Right under 30 bucks for two people, the complete meal for two also included a hot teapot of (maybe ginger?) tea that warmed my bones before lunch was arrived. The pricing was fair, especially for the quality and quantity received, the staff were professional and respectable, and the inner and outer appearance seemed authentic, clean, and food focused. Definitely will try again next time I'm in Burlington.

Yelp
The decor here is not like the modern, flashy Korean BBQ places that have been blowing up on social media, so it felt super nostalgic to eat here. Like others have mentioned, the ventilation isn't super great so I wouldn't wear any important clothes here. I came in a group of 4 on a weekend in the mid-afternoon. They have strict lunch and dinner hours and even though we came during their break from 2-2:30pm, they told us that we could wait at their table. I appreciated the service and did not experience any rude treatment like others have suggested, although we also dined at a time when they were less busy. We got a number of items including the doenjang jjigae ($12.99), ttokbeokki ($16.99), short rib ($36.99), chicken gui ($28.99), and bulgogi ($33.99). All of the food was pretty good and had a homey vibe, although their marinades are on the sweeter side. They grilled the meats for us. I think this is a nice spot to get a comfy, casual, family meal! The meat is not mind-blowingly impressive but very decent.

Yelp
Great spot for an easy, delicious meal. The beef short ribs and beef bulgogi were very good. Great service too. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
Authentic mom and pop shop serving kbbq and Korean dishes. The couple are very sweet and attentive. Never disappointed at the food!

Yelp
This unassuming place is actually very good. Located in a shopping mall, it's not a fancy place but don't let that fool you. They were out of bulgogi when we went on lunar new year BUT we opted for the spicy pork belly and short rib. I was very impressed with the spicy pork belly--it was my favorite. The seasoning and veggies were spot on. Note that the meat portions are not ginormous like American BBQ. The quality is great but expect smaller portions. The banchan was plentiful and very tasty. The japchae was a good complement to the BBQ. It was hot and the portion was a great size. Their bibimbap was okay. It wasn't hot like it should've been but it was warm enough to eat (there was bulgogi here). They will bring the rice in small individual portions with the banchan so make sure to save it for bibimbap. Their consomme soup is basic so I would skip that. Three of us had lunch/dinner and we spent about $100 (pre-tax and pre-tip)

Yelp
3 stars on yelp, people complaining about "ambience" and "service", mom and pop shop (literally), and yet still so many people go? This is the place yelpers, the authentic Korean restaurant that serves excellent and traditional (as it gets in Boston) Korean fare. It comes as undesirable to the typical goer looking for a flat rate AYCE galbi and bright flashy lights with kpop in the background, but for those who should know better, this is the spot where you can get an actual plate of japchae cooked perfectly with crunchy veggies and perfect sesame aroma. Here you can find your traditional Korean beef soups that are made with care and love, as opposed to a stock frozen package that is reheated to fill you up so you don't order more meat. The BBQ is still excellent, albeit pricy, but it's the other dishes that really shine. The wife is absolutely lovely and kind, and the husband can be a little gruff- it's only further proof of a legitimate and authentic mom and pop shop that you just don't get in this area. The barley tea served is a nice nutty touch, and while the banchan isn't refilled instantly, it is largely excellent, though the cabbage kimchi can be a little standard. Don't miss out on the tender squid bokum, the soulful and rich sur lu tang (the best made version of this rich bone broth based soup in the Greater Boston area), or the beefy short rib soup/galbi tang- filled with hearty cuts of meat and immensely satisfying flavor.

Yelp
Bad service and rude staffs. Our party has a total of 5. My other 2 friends were running late. There were so many empty tables and the place didn't seem to be busy at all. This is not a buffet restaurant where they put limited time for your stay but they made us sit in the front and waited until all of us presented to be seated without any explanations. I had to tell them we knew what to order food and were ready to order for our party regardless the other 2 friends were running late because we were starving. The host sat us down with the grumpy face and rushed us to place order. The place was super hot and humid, we could not stay any longer to enjoy the food. So we decided to bring the leftovers outside to eat. The waitress aggressively told me that I could only pack food that I ordered and did not allow me to bring any side dishes home. I told her that I did not want to waste the food, she would throw it in the trash anyway. She said yes, she would rather throw it away. Well, let me tell you this: 1. The food itself is already overpriced. We only had a few dishes but ended up paid $80 each person without the tips 2. We did not ask for any extra side dishes 3. Again, this is not a "All you can eat" restaurant where you can't not bring any leftover home. 4. If you're nice enough to give free side dishes, stay kind or charge the side dishes however you want. Why forcing people to waste their food and rather throwing the food away? Unless you planned to reuse those free side dishes then it made more sense to make a big deal out of it. I left and still gave them 18% of tips even though they deserve nothing after giving the worst customer service. Thank you, but I'd never come back to this place.

Yelp
First time ever trying a Korean BBQ restaurant. Wow, I was soo impressed with the good service, experience and the amazing food. My wife and I got the short ribs and prime rib for our meal. We enjoyed all of the sides and the meat was was tender, that it melted your mouth!!! We will definitely be back...

Yelp
Never got seated. There was a queue by the door; went to the counter and was ignored by the host (young man); asked those in line if they put their name in and they said no. Soon after a man walks in and the 'host' greets him and tells him is wait time. I then asked him about our place in line and he was rude. We walked out.

Christopher C.

Yelp
Surprise experience, very good (Lunch). They set five small dishes of pickled appetizers down to start (wasn't expecting that). Superb. Ordered clear noodles with beef - Char something. Very good. It appears this is a mom and pop run place. He is not accommodating but she is wonderful. A bit expensive. I would go back.

Yelp
I should have listened to the reviews. They were right. The staff was rude and the food was expensive. I think it's a family that owns the place with the mom and dad working the tables and the son is the cashier/host. The mom was fine but the dad did not smile once and was rude to us. We wanted to order the scallion pancake and he just said "I can't make that for you right now" and left the table to tend to someone else. No explanation. We did the bbq and ordered 3 bbq entrees (in addition to other non-bbq entrees). The portions were so tiny. We got 9 bite size pieces of pork belly. Spent over $30 on bulgogi and it wasn't even enough for 1 person. When we asked for more lettuce, (we only got 1 small basket for the 6 of us) they charged us an extra $2. It's super smokey in there as their ventilation system is not good. Someone mentioned in another review that they were not seated as their party was not complete and they were waiting for friends. When we were at our table, we saw a party come in who were also waiting on a friend. The restaurant was not full and there plenty of empty tables, but they were told they couldn't sit down until their friend arrived. I was surprised! We spent over $100 and were still hungry afterwards. Will never go back there. There is better Korean bbq elsewhere!!

Kevin N.

Yelp
This place is a rip off. Whatever price you see, add another $10 to the item. When I asked why their prices were so much more than their website. They said they did not have a website. I will never order from here again!

Yelp
I've never felt this comfortable in a Korean restaurant while in America before. Many places I've visited, even in California and New York, just felt a bit too modernized, shallow, and impersonal. This place took me back to eating with family in the countryside of Daegu, with a cozy atmosphere and friendly people. The food itself was delicious, as the short ribs were so tender and juicy, while the mul naeng myun was the best I'd had since Korea. I honestly teared up a little as I was reminded of my family in Korea for a moment. The service was absolutely amazing, with the server able to speak both English and Korean, and she was constantly there to help cook the meat and check to see if we had everything we needed, as well as if we were enjoying the food, but she never once felt intrusive. This is definitely a Korean BBQ place I'll be visiting often!

Yelp
It was nice. Went here back in February, it was busy, but not too busy. Very traditional KBBQ restaurant, don't expect any frills or fanciness. Quality of meat was good. Portions were not. We ordered the samgyeopsal and the galbi, and I was disappointed to see only like 10 pieces for the price that it was. Speaking of which, the prices online are not what they are in person. Add about $7 to each for today's pricing. With that in mind, I probably will not return.

Yelp
Meh Korean food. We gave this place a few chances 10+ years ago. But the food was subpar every single time without fail & the restaurant had an overall grimy appearance & dirty feel. Our usual Hmart pitstop was not available. But we were already looking forward to Korean by the time we found out the power was out at Hmart. So, against our better judgment, we thought we would revisit this place...after all, it had been so long, surely with the decent reviews, we thought the place must have gotten better. (And with a lot of restaurants wisely using their time during COVID to give their interiors a makeover or at the very least a thorough cleaning, we headed over hopeful.) Yeah, so, no...the interior looked just as grimy and old as we remembered it from 10 & 15 years prior. The whole restaurant (aside from BBQ) had an old carpet, musty smell to it. And the same old familiar grimy looking walls. The server was very friendly & was the one positive part of our time there. She told us their bone broth was made in-house and simmered for a very long time for their Sul Long Tang and told us this soup was a solid choice. But as soon as it came out, we knew right away they must have put in some form of a cream, milk/soy milk, maybe even cornstarch (?) to give it the milky appearance of an authentic long-simmered Sul Long Tang (a sly move some restaurants make to cut down on costs); except what tipped us off was the unnatural color. 100% bone broth - no matter how long you cook it - doesn't turn that opaque. We ended up just eating a few pieces of the floating beef and left the entire soup uneaten. And if you ask for banchan (side dish) refill, any respectable Korean restaurant gives you another helping - it's just standard with this type of cuisine. Sometimes they'll ask you first if you want more. But not here...instead they're quick to inform their customers that there's a limit & you have to decide which two you want more of. Kinda of unheard of for Korean cuisine & super stingy. And a lot of our banchans/side dishes , we saw were also used in our entrees. We wanted to like this place very much...

Yelp
Came here for dinner for the first time on a weekend with a group of friends. We ordered their veggie tempura, tub boki, 2 tofu jiges (1 vegan, and 1 regular), spicy pork belly bbq, and anchangesal gui (sliced beef). Total came out to around $120 for a group of 4 (not including tip). What's Hot - Menu variety. Pretty good selections- there's almost something for everyone, which I address below. It's a mom n pop restaurant and it appears the owners are Korean immigrants, which is pretty legit. They definitely seem to know their stuff. - Quality. Pretty delish! Everything was flavorful and delish. The only detractor is that their food isn't as spicy as you might think/hope it should be. To be fair, myself, hubby, and our friends have a pretty high tolerance. There's a slight spicy kick in some of the dishes that we purposely ordered, because it's spicy. Unfortunately, it didn't meet our hopes. - Portions. Pretty good size portions. You certainly get your money's worth. For example, the tofu jige was probably a half block of tofu, which is a very good portion. Their vegetable tempura is a variety of sliced veggies fried together in a big baseball size and there were 4 balls of tempura. If you're into Indian food, they're like pakoras. Certainly enough food to get you full, even though you're sharing. - Price. Pretty reasonable, given the amount and quality of food you order. Per person, it can be kind of pricey. However, given that main dishes include side dishes and rice, it's pretty reasonable. Additionally, you're almost always going in a group, which means you will probably be splitting the costs. - Location. Pretty easy to find and decent size parking lot, as well, which is helpful. - Health and safety. During this time of the pandemic, there's a sign taped to the door requesting all customers to wear face masks. All their staff were wearing face masks, as well. We did notice one of their staff with the face mask under his nose, which isn't the proper method. However, point is they're putting forth a good faith effort, which counts. What's Not - Service. Definitely lacking. Two reasons: 1) the staffer repeatedly walked away from us when we were trying to order, and 2) the staffer kept trying to dictate to us how our food should be ordered, cooked, and eaten. To be fair, any type of Asian restaurant is generally not known for its service, especially if it's run by immigrants. This isn't meant to be a slander. It's an observation of cultural differences. - Dietary restrictions. One of our friends is vegan and it was really difficult getting her vegan friendly dishes. There are a fair amount of vegetarian friendly dishes. However, when we asked, we were told they use a lot of animal-related products, like fish powder, fish sauce, etc... For example, the tofu jige is made with fish powder. We asked the staff to make it without fish powder and she shook her head vigorously and said it wouldn't taste good. She said it would just be made with water and soy sauce, which our friend agreed to. To be fair, our friend said the broth still tasted good, like a pho broth. When we asked the tub boki to be made without fish powder, she said they wouldn't or couldn't. She didn't say it, but it sounds like many of their dishes and sauces are pre-made, which makes it difficult for any modifications. Be aware that if you do have any dietary restrictions, this is not the place that will accommodate you. Final Answer With the exception of service, no complaints. Willing to come back, but maybe not a first choice.

Yelp
Warning! Avoid this restaurant. Literally came out of there robbed of 80$ and still hungry. I've never had such an experience. It felt so wrong and felt a shame for even have given it a chance. I stayed after seeing the prices hoping the food was just that tasty and to support some mom and pops place. Food: The portions are TINY. The BBQ food items ranged from around 27$-35$. Ordered a chicken dish and spare rib dish. The chicken portion was small for 1 person. The spare ribs which was even more expensive came with 2 ribs and a thin strip of pork that could have been cut in 2 and fit as 2 thin slices on a sandwich. They cut it into 6 pieces to try to convince you, you were served any real amount of food. The 2-1inch pieces of rib, no meat on them, visibly just all bone. I was not sure why he was cooking them for me, it was almost like he was trying to lie to himself that he served a rib with meat on it. Its a bone, I felt dumb I picked it up to taste it like if I visibly couldn't tell I'm holding a bone with nothing. Service: The waiter was the dad. He was very rude. His whole experience was so rude but fast forwarding to the end because it was so shocking. The food came out to 75$. I paid with card was going to leave a cash tip on the table. He took the bill, 2 minutes later came back to the table asked me why I left the tip space empty, I said I was going to leave the tip on the table. He raised his voice and said "I'll leave this here then, and you put the money in the basket" and he pointed to the basket that held some lettuce initially. I was surprised at the small amount of food for the cost and the whole experience. I felt scammed so I was just going to leave. I put what ever cash I had left in my wallet 5$ with the bill. He took it, came back and starts talking fast and offended. I couldn't understand what he was saying I asked him a 3rd time, "I'm sorry I'm confused I don't understand what you're saying" he slows down, you could tell he was angry and says "Was the food bad? Did you have a bad experience? What has gone wrong?" I said "what do you mean?" and he says "You left me a 5$ tip and you should have left me over 10$ come on, I have a family what are you thinking here", and I said "I just put what I had left in cash but if you really need more here's my card" he got offended and said "what do you want me to do with this? I can't do anything with this" by this point he was shouting at me and 3 tables were looking at him. I took my card back still replying in a low tone and told him "well that's all I have" and he left really angry. I just couldn't believe what just happened. I've never been yelled at in a restaurant or harassed so hard for money. That was the end of the meal. If needed here was the beginning. The menu had different options and I figured I'd get a water and look through the menu. He ignored me, went and got me a tea kettle and hot tea. He tried rushing me to order even though the restaurant was empty besides 2 tables at the time. I decided to try the BBQ because I mean its in their name, so I figured it was their specialty. The mom was sweet she brought out the little ingredients for the food and was smiling and very mom caring and happy. When the dad came out bringing the raw chicken and raw pork, he brought a cooking knife and tongs and started managing the grill. Normally you get to relax and enjoy your meal and YOU get to grill the small pieces of food while enjoying your dinner not hovered over by the waiter the entire time. For Korean BBQ you can at least get more side dishes as you eat. One side dish was 3 thin slices of radish but it was sweet and tasted good so I asked if I could get some more on one of the times the dad was cooking. He stared at me, muffled something and went and got some more. After that he ignored me if I said anything, he flipped the thin slice of pork, cut it with some scissors and left. He never came back for the rest of the dining experience. As a simple tactic to not have to be around the customer and not bring out more side dishes. The whole time he left the plate with the tongs and cooking knife on the table that he brought with the raw meats initially so you had this plate that had raw meat juices and blood on it just dripping from the knife and tongs on your table. Ambiance: The wall facing the front has some privacy covers, which looked like maybe a cat or something ripped them in many sections. The opposing wall had a divider for the kitchen space and a wall of old disconnected machines, clothing racks which seemed like personal items and the restaurant had a couple of wood tables. It felt like they didn't care about the restaurant or what the customers thought of it. Never have I seen a Korean BBQ managed like this, food quantity so low and costs so high you could have just gone to a very high quality restaurant. I felt shame 80$ and 30min later so hungry I had to go eat else where. 1 star all day I'm not sorry.

Yelp
Came here for dinner on a weekday during a business trip as a party of 5 Koreans (I'm including this to preface that my experience was not inflicted by age, race, etc.). Long story short, don't come. Meat: We got kbbq and the meat quality was fine. If you get pork belly, they give you a different grill with butane gas. If you get galbi, you grill that on the main grill. Interesting that we couldn't grill both at the same time. The owner said we have to turn off the main grill fire before eating the pork belly, I guess to save gas?? Side dishes: DISCLAIMER - you get one set of side dishes or banchan for every 2 orders of meat. It says on the back of some of the menus that "additional side dishes and lettuce are $2 each" lol a basket of lettuce has like 6 lettuce leaves cut in half...lmao they give so little to begin with... Service: SHIT SHIT SERVICE. Writing this review honestly cuz of their service. The guy in the hall who takes order and sits people, I think is the owner? It looks like his wife runs the kitchen - she was really sweet and nice though. But this guy, he was so unprofessional, and just rude. We wanted to try different meats, so we were going to order in rounds. So we said we'd start with 2 orders of Anchangsal, and he was like "you're only gonna get one set of side dishes." So we asked if we order more meat, they give more side dishes and he was like " er, ya" so we went ahead and ordered 2 orders of galbi, too and we got two sets of banchan. We asked him for more side dishes down the road and he was like, "LISTEN WELL. It was at the back of the menu and we charge for side dishes!" (For my korean folks. he started with "잘 들으세요." like wtf????). In our defense, when we looked at the menu again to order more food later, yea one of the menus stated it in the back. The other menus (at least 3 others) didn't have it written anywhere we can see. All my bosses and I were taken back at his attitude, like yea ok we have no problem paying for more. His delivery was just plain rude and unprofessional. Not sure how this place is running with such shit service, and he's the main person dealing with customers out front. You can see in a lot of other review talking about shit service. Those that compliment the service talks about the lady owner who runs the kitchen. She comes out every now and then, but she isn't your main person to order and what not. Please save yourself the time, the money and the bad experience and avoid coming here.

Yelp
I always wanted try this place rather than going to H mart. The waitress was mean and angry..! Maybe she had a bad day. This place didn't have egg or soybeansoup. When I asked the waitress she said no. Ok not a problem.. She asked where I am from. Then she gave me whole lecture about Boston Korean restaurant doesn't serve egg or Soybean soup. I ordered Galbi for three people and a spicy octopus. It was family gathering I didn't want to ruin. When she cooked Galbi she was not pleasant end up telling her I will cook and serve myself because she had this attitude. We all thought what do we do wrong? She ruined family gathering. I couldn't finish the meal end up taking out.. Go to H mart Burlington. Much better!

Yelp
Food is well overpriced. Host was extremely rude and staff is generally disorganized. Slow to be seated but once seated definitely felt rushed. Will not return.

Yelp
Yummy! The food was good and really tasty. I loved the typos on the menu too! Note - the online menu prices are MUCH lower (about 10-20%) than what you're going to pay in the restaurant. They haven't updated it. All the food was good, service was great for having 7 people. they don't take reservations.

Yelp
Enjoyed the food, we got the prime rib and spicy pork and vegetables. The staff was friendly but they insisted on cooking the food on the grill. Other Korean BBQ places we have always cooked ourselves but here they hover over the table and lean in while you're trying to eat or have a conversation. It was very awkward. Also no liquor license which was disappointing. Won't return but might get take out.

Yelp
This is one of our favorite Korean BBQ places in the area. The decor reminds me of a traditional kbbq scene out of a Korean drama! The food is overall delicious, and the service has been great! If you have a chance to try korean bbq in the Burlington area, New Jang Su will not disappoint (also there's tons of parking!)

Yelp
If you want authentic Korean BBQ, this is the right place. I have talked to multiple Koreans (born and raised in different parts of Korea) and this is their first choice. Their bugogi for bbq is very different from all the other Korean places. It's big flat pieces of meat, unlike at other restaurants it's those tiny cuts. I would also highly recommend their bibimbap and yook gae jang (shredded spicy beef soup). Both are excellent choices for cold rainy/snowy days. During busy hours or days, sometimes service could be slow or no one would be available to grill for you. Price wise it's about the same as usual bbq places.

Yelp
Kalbi was very good. Four of us gorged on BBQ and it came out to about $300 total which seems reasonable considering we ordered 6 main dishes and 2 apps.

Yelp
Three of our party got the barbecue and the other three ordered from the menu. They had the barbecue order/came out first while they brought out the other meals later. All of the meals came with rice and tea. There was ample amounts of toppings for whoever ordered the barbecue to make lettuce wraps with their meats. The food tasted authentic! In addition the staff was very attentive

Yelp
It was a good celebration dinner, but while I was packing up the "extras" to go, a man came over, put his hand between me and my dishes , and said "don't take these". His attitude made me feel like I was being accused of stealing something. I asked "why not " (cause I paid for the meal), he made up an lame excuse saying " Why not? If you take them outside, in 5 to 10 minutes, they'll go bad". What? Your food can't last 10 min outside? Was it bad already when you served it to us? We didn't feel welcomed as guests and felt like we were under surveillance by this man. It was humiliating and infuriating. All remaining stars are for our waitress who came over numerous times and cooked our barbecue to perfection for us. We thanked her, and tipped as she deserved. Will not go back. That man can find someone else to give his attitude.

Yelp
I'm not sure why this place doesn't have a better rating because I had a great experience! Came as a party of seven on a Saturday night before it got busy and was seated right away. Our waitress was very friendly and helped us navigate the menu. We ended up ordering a regular Pajun and Seafood Pajun, Chap Chae, Bulgogi, Spicy Pork Belly, Squid, and two servings of Short Rib. As per usual, we started off with side dishes to share, including lettuce and sauce to go with the meat. The meat came out one by one, with our servers helping us cook and cut it. It was definitely more than enough food for all of us. Overall there's nothing bad to say about my experience. For those taking off stars because of the restaurant's appearance, please get your priorities straight. If you want a truly authentic Korean meal, don't get mad when it's not "aesthetic" enough for your Instagram feed :)

Yelp
On the way back from Boston and in typical fashion, we winged it and picked this Korean BBQ joint. Never considered that there are other Korean restaurants outside H-mart in Burlington. They are limiting capacity and looks like the largest table can hold 6, but it's first come, first serve. Ironically, my group of 3 got the table for 6, while the group of 7 got split about two tables that hold 4. The menu states that there's a minimum requirement of 2 orders for BBQ table and each item is a serving for 1 person. I personally thought the portions were rather small even though we all ordered 1 each, while my youngest cousin thought it was big. It's been awhile since I saw so many sides, but for bbq, we ordered the short ribs, pork loin and bulgogi. The short ribs I ordered reminded me of the beef sticks my family eats at house parties. Other than that, everything here pretty much tastes the same anywhere. Just wished we knew ahead of time that we should have ordered more earlier, we got comp. oranges and the check as soon as our meat was slowly disappearing into our bellies. I did appreciate the waitress cooking on the grill for us and talking to us, too.

Yelp
Don't come here. Food was expensive. Servers had such an attitude especially the owner guy.

Yelp
This place has been my family's favorite restaurant for a long time. The food is tasty, and the owners are very personable. We've been to this location for more than 10 years, so we know the owners personally and appreciate their service. Other Korean restaurants I've been to have some music and huge crowd surrounding the tables, but this one feels more traditional with many families coming to eat. Slightly different but if you like the calm atmosphere and pleasant and flavorful meal, this is the place!

Yelp
Average food, extremely rude service from the male owner. As soon as we finished the meal, the waitress asked "can you leave, we have customers waiting". Oh Gosh.

Yelp
Terrible service. The gentlman there who might be the owener, was very rude. Food were OK but encountering his rudeness turned us off.

Yelp
First of all, this is the first Korean bbq I had which will cook pork belly in tinfoil. I am shocked. I asked the owner if I can cook the pork belly on the grill sheet directly and she said no... I just don't get it. The food is definitely over price. The short rib is $28 for just one bite and the meat is not very fresh. You can taste it even after it is heavily marinated. The service is horrible. The lady keeps coming and flipping our meat every 1min (when it is definitely not ready) and she keeps saying what is good to eat and asking us to take them. Very hands on. If that works for you, you are welcome to try that. I feel pushed and unable to enjoy my meal. I think they are rushing us cuz now they only have half of the tables open and they want us to leave so they can host other new guests.

Yelp
This place is authentic. Don't be driven away from the aesthetic of the place. Walked in and immediately heard Korean being spoken from the kitchen and knew I was in for a good time. I got the KBBQ here and had the short ribs, bulgolgi, and spicy pork belly. While their KBBQ menu is limited, each dish I had was absolutely delicious. Service here was extremely good, I was consistently checked on throughout my meal by a little old Korean lady who also prepped all the meats for my party table side. Prices here are in line with the other KBBQ options in the area (which tend to run on the pricier side compared to KBBQ options in other states).

Yelp
I was really craving for some Korean BBQ and I was informed that this was one of the better places to try (Boston is a no go evidently). The restaurant itself is nothing fancy (quite dated to be honest) though the grills and vent hoods they have look to be quite new and did a phenomenal job at ensuring we didn't come out covered in grease (although my clothes did smell like bbq for a few hours...). One thing to note about Korean BBQ (and this place is definitely no exception) is the price. At the very MINIMUM you need to have 2 orders of BBQ in order to use the grill and since the cheapest BBQ option they offer is $20.99... well that's ~$42 to have any chance of having any BBQ... so this place is definitely not the place to be for cheap eats. We opted for 2 orders of short rib and one order of spicy pork for the BBQ as well as a bean curd soup dish. The soup wasn't too bad with lots of flavor but it was a tad salty for me (and I was here for the BBQ...not the soup so.....). The short rib was tasty and came with a basket of lettuce to wrap the meat once it's cooked (this is the proper way to eat the short rib). You can eat it with just rice but if you want a more authentic experience then some assembly is required! The waitress will come and cut and position the beef for you once in a while so don't be alarmed if she comes and starts manipulating your food! The spicy pork (Jeyook Yangnyum Gui) is also quite flavorful and has a nice spice to it so if you like something with some heat then give this a try. Overall I had no complaints with the food. I only wish it was cheaper but alas, there's not enough competition to drive the prices down. I would rate this as a 3.5 but since I can't a 3 will have to do. For a cheaper experience you can buy the meat at the H - Mart and have your own homemade Korean BBQ experience!

Yelp
Very bad customer service. They didn't even want to seat us but since we were all there we decided to stay but they seated our group all apart despite they could of sat us together They had bad attitude Overall very bad experience

Yelp
The short rip was good, but the service was horrible. The waiter made it uncomfortable. He made it clear that he does not want your business. The waiter was in his mid-50 or potentially the owner. Probably should stay home (if you felt that you are too good to serve) or need customer service training. No alcohol serving. Bring you the check before the food was finished. Literally boot out, we were there like 30 mins max once the food arrived. The message was clear from that dude. We don't want your business. I did not think we did anything wrong or being difficult in anyway. We spent more than $100 for 2 people. So we were not cheap about our dinning. The juster from that man was rude and cocky. The place was not the most clean and why this place passed the "board of health" requirements again??? The most unpleasant dining experience.

Yelp
Don't judge a book by its cover. Though it may seem small and quaint, I'd say this is by far the best korean bbq place in Boston. I've been to other places and I always feel like the restaurants will either lack in quality or service or both. New Jang Su had such good quality meat, the beef and pork were tender and well marinated to be sweet and enjoyable. The various side dishes were equally yummy and this is one of the few places where they also provide lettuce to wrap the meat in as well. The service was outstanding, unlike other places they help cook the meat for you to ensure it is properly cooked. Turns out my parents came her often before I was even born and the establishment is still living up to our high expectations. Definitely a stop you have to make if you're foodies like my family. If you appreciate authentic Korean food and culture, this is definitely a place to be.

Yelp
It was super delicious. The lady who served all the tables are super busy but she kept smiling ... I would probably die if I had her job. I read the previous reviews and found people are not entirely fair to her. Anyways the BBQ and the soup were all great. Will definitely go back!

Yelp
Delicious meats, really nice waiters, and authentic. Little hole in the wall place that's you wouldn't guess is delicious food. If you're in the area try it out and support a local business!
