I came here with three other friends for dimsum this past Monday morning. I wish we had a group of 5-6 so we could get more variety and try other dimsums. There a few dimsum cart ladies going around (and they speak in Cantonese, so it helps if someone in the group speaks).
It's hard to write a thorough review on every single thing we tried, so I'll list all of the ones we tried and highlight the ones I would order again, along with a list of options I wish I tried but didn't because we were too full.
** Items ordered **
- GOK FA CHA - Chrysanthemum tea is a classic and I'd recommend letting this brew in the pot for a bit before drinking - much more flavor when you wait!
- SIU MAI - these were good and a staple, I'd recommend
- FUNG ZAO - I really liked the black bean sauce for these, very delicious and tender, I'd HIGHLY recommend
- LO BAK GO - these were pretty good, too, and our table really enjoyed them
- HA CHEUNG - probably one of my favorites here, the crepes were thin and chewy and the texture was fantastic; shrimp was just OK
- SIN JUK GYUN - yum, really liked the crunch from the mushrooms, bamboo shoots, and others; tofu skin is a classic
- JI MA KAU - black sesame balls were chewy, delicious, and not too sweet; thoroughly enjoyed this sweeter dimsum option
- CHA SIU BAO - don't remember much about them but I'd order these if I'm craving them again
- GAM CIN TOU - steamed beef tripe is a classic but I got a little sick of them after a few; I'd only order if there's enough people who want to eat them
- PEI DAAN SAU JUK ZUK - I liked the consistency and texture. The taste was delicious, too, but lots of rice and not much substance. I ate all the preserved egg & pork and as much porridge as possible, but still left a lot to waste
- NO MAI - we got a really big sticky rice dumpling that wasn't wrapped in lotus leaf; it wasn't no mai gai?? I don't recommend this one because it was lots of rice/carbs and not much substance. Our table didn't finish :(
We definitely got a couple others, but I'm forgetting some. Here's the list of items that looked good that I wish we ordered - HAR GOW, NO MAI GAI, LAU SA BAO, DAN TAT, PAI GWAT. Overall, food was pretty good and our dim sum cravings were satisfied for a small price of under $20 after tax/tip. I'd come back to this restaurant for dimsum in the future when I'm back in Flushing!
