New Orleans Center for Creative Arts

The main institution for performing arts in New Orleans is the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA). It is a public high school arts conservatory that provides intensive, pre-professional training for students in a variety of arts disciplines. The Willow School: This is a public K–12 charter school in New Orleans that offers a strong academic curriculum and integrates arts education. School of Rock Metairie: This program offers music education, including ensemble performances, for aspiring musicians and has held benefit events in New Orleans.💯

Really imaginative and fun events. I attended their Last Dinner on the Titanic; everything, from the food to the musicians and singers to the characters they introduced throughout the night were delightful! The talent absolutely was talented and they thrive in the NOCCA programs. Looking forward to attending more programming!

My daughter is a senior at NOCCA. She attends both the Academic and Dance Programs. This is a great arts school for any child looking to pursue their art. Great Dance Faculty who puts a lot of time and effort into their students. They are very active and resourceful when it comes to the college decision process. The Dance Show is a Must See!

Wonderful school for talented, intellectual students in the Arts and Creative world. It offers more than just HS education; it is where trusting, accepting, supporting lifelong friends are made, including the instructors. Nice urban campus. Worth checking out!

Wish I could give more than 5 stars. I've had 3 daughters go to school here. The youngest went to the academic studio. Great arts school, Great academic school. The thing that you notice immediately, is that everyone there WANTS to be there. This includes the students, teachers, administrators, etc. This place is like no other high school I've ever seen.

The faculty and staff are 100% invested in the positive development and growth of students. My daughter loves everything about this school. NOCCA is a priceless gift to Louisiana teens and their families.

Attending N.O.C.C.A. was one of the happiest times of my life. I was incredibly lucky to get to get to go there. I hope N.O.C.C.A. remains a staple of my city for centuries to come and if you are a kid privileged enough to attend, soak in every moment and remember just how lucky you are.

Beautiful facility for creativity. Gives young and old high potential for their skills in a clean well organized learning environment. Makes New Orleans and the State proud.

In my visits here, I am in awe of the range of creativity that is held in this school. There are so many beautiful works of art on the walls, floors, ceilings and anywhere else they can mount something. Their facility is nestled in the heart of New Orleans near the French Quarter. Check them out sometime!

This review is based off of an experience that I had when I went to a play (Big Fish) at NOCCA. My little cousin was in the play so I was excited to go and see what he and his classmates have been working on all semester. I should mention that I am a theater geek myself and looooove going to see plays. Naturally, knowing that these kids are in high school and not professionals I lowered my expectations just a tad. Well, they blew my expectations out the water. These kids took this play seriously and it showed. They all had such great stage presence I forgot I was watching a bunch of teenagers. Everything from their professionalism to the stage sets/prop, to the costumes, everything was top notch. For a small ticket price you get a great show, it definitely cures my theater itch between Broadway for America tours.

I went here for the Alwin Nikolais Centennial show. The show itself was pretty awesome, there were lights, weird sounds, and some kind of dancing. The venue itself was much smaller and more intimate than I expected. It was also much more casual and laid back. A lot of these types of places are all posh and fancy and whatnot, with their cocktail dresses and monocles and suspended pants. There wasn't any pretention here, just some folks who wanted to join together to sit in a dark room and watch people writhe around on stage while bathed in multi-chromatic light arrays and industrially produced sound bytes.
