"New Seasons Market is a local chain of Portland grocery stores. Workers at 11 unionized locations are going on strike in response to alleged unfair labor practices and failing to reach a new deal with management. The strike is in response to a proposal from management that allegedly included a dismal increase of 25 cents for new hires, a reduction in holiday pay, and increasing the hours necessary to receive benefits and paid time off. The market proposed a change to the contract that would get rid of company-funded health insurance in exchange for a higher wage. Despite these disputes, New Seasons Market states that it remains focused on minimizing disruption and providing expected service to customers. The New Seasons Labor Union, founded in 2022, represents over 1,000 workers and is advocating for a living wage minimum of $27.04, cost-of-living raises, increased paid time off, and more." - Rebecca Roland

Google
Store is nice for organic items and has lots of selection! Grabbed some Cremini & Lion's mane mushrooms. Stopped by the deli area and ordered a whole Artisan - Pesto Veggie pizza which is huge! It was decently priced at around $23. Pizza was great but the service was mediocre. The person who took my order must of been having a bad day and it showed as she mostly stared at me and left my pizza on the corner when it was done rather than calling out my name. She just pointed my pizza was done as I walked back up to see the progress. Didn't know the barcode was on the pizza box so I stood in checkout line about 7 mins to pay for it with the order paper and was made to restand in the line for about 5 more mins with the actual pizza box to ring it up which was frustrating because my pizza cooled off during all the sitting time. The pizza was good but I wish I could have experienced the helpfulness everyone else desecribed in other reviews since this was my first time shopping here.

Google
Very friendly! It's literally "Cheers", where everybody knows your name! It offers a sit-in dining area that is fully stocked with condiments and a microwave. It is well maintained and always clean. The bathrooms too! There are a few outlets at the bar seating to plug in and charge your device. The crushed ice machine is what keeps me a returning customer😉

Google
I shop here at least every other day, but it's getting harder as the days go to keep coming back. I very much like the fresh produce and meat selection, let alone their deli and baked items... It's up there with the best. But, I am without a doubt being profiled for some reason every time I enter the store. I am followed from the moment I begin shopping, it's becoming a serious problem. I am extremely sick and am going through vigorous treatment currently, I have lost 55 lbs over the last 3 months, And I believe my appearance is the reason I am being followed/profiled.

Google
So, this place has nice people and is clean and I guess that’s what they’re charging us for? Because I got a “chicken pesto sandwich” for 9.99. For that price I was expecting chunks of grilled chicken and, well, pesto. Instead, I got a sandwich full of sliced cold cut style chicken, cheese, and spinach. Not a DROP of pesto. I was amazed. For TEN DOLLARS this is what I got? Fake chicken, rotten-tasting spinach, and no pesto. So disappointed.

Andrew Smeby

Google
Some prices are nearly double Fred Meyers. That would be acceptable if New Seasons paid their staff accordingly, but now I'm not sure what the high prices are for.

Google
This New Seasons is well stocked, albeit pricey, and I'm glad it is in the neighborhood. To management: there is a candle or something fragrant you regularly stock by the bulk and it smells horrible. It permeates the whole corner of the store. I don't know what it is but I beg you to stop selling it.

New Seasons Market in Portland’s Slabtown area is a delightful gem for anyone seeking quality organic foods and a wide variety of wines. This market, often compared to Whole Foods for its emphasis on natural and organic products, stands out with its unique charm and local flair. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The aisles are well-stocked with many organic options, ranging from fresh produce to health-focused snacks. The emphasis on local and sustainable goods is evident, making it a go-to place for those conscious about their food choices and the environment. The wine selection at New Seasons Market is particularly noteworthy. Whether you’re a connoisseur or looking to explore new varieties, their range caters to all palates. The staff’s knowledge and eagerness to assist add to the experience, making wine selection both enjoyable and informative. Customer service is another area where New Seasons Market shines. The staff are friendly and approachable, always ready to help with a smile. This level of care and attention to customers enhances the shopping experience, making each visit pleasant and memorable. In conclusion, New Seasons Market in Portland’s Slabtown is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates quality organic products, an impressive selection of wines, and exceptional customer service. Its commitment to sustainability and community values stands out in the city’s vibrant food scene.

Google
I think it is fair to call this the friendliest store in town. The staff is friendly, and even more importantly, helpful. The senior discount and the military discount are a real help. It really pays to be registered, as they have frequent discounts. And the store is spotlessly clean. Amazed to find all gender rest rooms! Yay! When the shelves are being restocked, they don't block the aisles. They have an option of uploading your payment device so that you get an email receipt rather than a paper receipt. That is nearly instantaneous. There are sale prices every week. No, it is not the cheapest store in town, but I was able to get items that were competitive with the chain stores.

Yelp
A model NSM. Some of the other stores could learn from this gem. The store is clean and well kept. The employees harbor great attitudes despite their corporate overlord's inability to negotiate their union contract. Some of the other shoppers can't wrap their heads around the one-way sign in the parking lot. So it's an absolute mess out there. Other than that it's a great store.

Danielle L.

Yelp
Eric in the Wellness department is very helpful and friendly. This is the second time I've called and spoken to him about a supplement that I am checking to see if they have in stock before I drive all the way in from Washougal. He checks and sets it aside for me with my name on it making it incredibly easy when I get there to pick it up. Thank you!

Mei K.

Yelp
Rude, snobbery management. employees just stating around chatting. Watched them kick out 3 costumers within a hour. Apples are good here.

Yelp
HOLY F... I have had some epic tragic shopping experiences lately I could write a book about. Imagine my shock when I go through my experience here. OK, I will start by saying they do have a parking lot and I was able to park right across the street - I have an ADA tag but the lot looked mstly full and the spot was open so I grabbed it since I would probably have had to park much further had I circled around. They store even looks really welcoming, clean and nice. Grabbing their motorized cart was low drama except I will say I felt like I was gonna wreck...and navigating the wine aisle...ohhhh boy those aisles are tight so hearing the glass clang trying to get around was SCARY! That is my only complaint in the store is that it is tight to drive that through. I was able to find everything thanks to the store having signage and being organized but the truly shocking thing was encountering employees throughout who wanted to help or at least say hello seeming to genuinely enjoy their jobs. It was towards closing when most store folks at places get cranky but no, helpful and kind. I needed to use the facilities and one person pointed me the way. I am used to having to do hostage negotiations to use a restroom anywhere in Portland so I saw someone mopping a floor and inquired. He said there is no code just go in... And wow - they have a wonderful set up where the toilets are unisex with their own closed door space and then an open washroom.... brilliant, clean and not being treated like a criminal when you are just doing a bodily function was amazing. Then I go to check out. Most stores I cannot remain in the motorized cart and reach to put the groceries up or pay etc but I could here! The cashier was wonderful, mindfully bagging things so that the weight was distributed though the four bags and letting me know that he was going to walk around to load the bags into the cart for me. I go to head to the parking lot and have that, "Uh oh" moment wondering is the cart going to shut off before I drive to my cart (effectively stranding me with four bags of groceries) in the parking lot or street...also getting the groceries to my car and then getting the cart all the way back. Suddenly a very sweet employee is right there and offers to assist me - I first said that my car is there and pointed across the street saying I was concerned the cart would auto off. He offered to come with and assist since he was locking the doors anyway and wanted to make it easier for me. That lovely fella loaded my groceries into my car and took the cart back. I get so used to things being all on me and stores treating me pretty terribly so it was shocking and so nice. I usually have great experiences showing at New Seasons but this was even better.

Jennifer M.

Yelp
Clean, well stocked, friendly people- a tad pricey but felt it was worth it when all the produce we bought was fresh! Best part, the dogs 'parked' sitting outside the front doors, just chilling:)

Holly L.

Yelp
Why don't you have an option for small boxes for breakfast bar-- such a waste. You're just trying to get people to take more. Give options and save material. Ridiculous large meal box for some eggs.

Kim G.

Yelp
New Seasons has several locations in Portland, this is one of the newer ones. Like all the other stores, they have gorgeous, organic produce that looks as beautiful as it tastes. High quality meat and fish. A plethora of high end cheese. And a premade food area that offers some delicious meal choices with everything clearly marked so that people with allergies or avoidance preferences can easily see the ingredients. If you are making a charcuterie board, the crackers, nuts, dried fruit and olives are plentiful to go with a few cheese selections and cured meats. In the aisles, lots of natural products, hard to find health care and personal items (Crystal Rock Salt Deodorant), snacks and pantry items. This is not and can never be my everyday grocery store because I simply can't afford it - the reason for the 4 stars. But when I need quality seafood and meat or special produce, this is where I shop. The marinated kabobs are so tasty! I buy a few and then add my own onion, red pepper and zucchini for a satisfying meal. This is a neighborhood location so parking lot is small. Customer service is always exceptional.

Tyler H.

Yelp
Great kombucha selection and very clean. Self checkout is easy as well, which makes a quick run even better

Joey R.

Yelp
I practically visit New Seasons everyday. Love the store! It's unique because some of the products the store carries cannot be found at other local grocery stores. I love walking around the marketplace and looking for new items. I feel like a kid in a candy store hehe :). Please try their cookies! When you walk inside the store, to the right, you'll find a wide selection of cookies. In addition, you will find a wide selection of adult beverages including wines, seltzers, beers and more. The deli is amazing! I'm a deli guy so anytime I can find a large, and cool deli, I'm excited. Furthermore, you will find nice products store wide for your pallet. Come check out New Seasons Market in Slabtown! You won't be disappointed!

Imogen K.

Yelp
A bit pricier than other grocery stores in the area, but in general a good store that I'm happy to frequent all too often. Good selection, kind workers, tasty prepared foods and high quality butchers / seafood. My one complaint is that you do have to be mindful to check any produce or pastries, as they have a tendency to sell things longer than they should.

Melanie T.

Yelp
We needed to stop in quickly for healthy snacks. Dinner time was way too off. My careful choices were worth it! I had 2 small slices of skirt steak, a salmon cake with tartar sauce, and a few pieces of Korean tofu (it was cold and chewy -I didn't like it too much) the other 2 snacks were Super good! Then we walked to Queue Coffee and enjoyed them with a fabulous iced black-and-white.

Bodie P.

Yelp
Going into another store to see if their meat section has any awesome deals like my awesome friends at QFC on Barnes. Did alot of awesome hard work in this area in 2018:-)

Andrew L.

Yelp
Great New Seasons but I'm frustrated with many of the customers who drive cars dangerously. Most people I've seen exit the parking lot blow the stop sign. There is a reminder sign as well to let people know why they have to stop (adults, children, and pets on the sidewalk) but this doesn't stop folks in a rush. Very frustrated by this. I saw some almost get hit today. We need police to stake this location out. Police could make so much money ticketing all of the scofflaws. Great New Seasons though. Plenty of high quality options. It's just unfortunate that it's so dangerous to walk on the sidewalk near it.

Sharon L.

Yelp
DEPLORABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. What has happened to the "Friendliest Store in Town"?! I waited at the deli section for over 5minutes waiting for the deli person to take what would have been a very large order. She was not helping another customer; she was doing something at her counter and only said I"'ll be with you in a minute". I continued to wait. Another deli employee (deli manager) breezed in, without any greeting or acknowledgement, echoed the first one "she'll be with you in a minute". Again there were no other customers. Fed up I left. When I suggested to the second one (deli manager) that she could actually help, she reported me to the apparent store manager who was exceptionally rude and abusive stating I could not berate his staff (for asking the second one to do something to give me service?". He could have said something like "I'm sorry you were not helped" or even acknowledged being ignored by his deli staff. He gave worse than zero customer service. He continued to rant; it was almost funny - he was really losing it. I stated I would not be back and he told me to leave the store. This "manager" should be fired. And the store staff trained in basic customer service. And truly I won't be back. They have lost yet another long time customer.

Rashi T.

Yelp
Definitely not my first preference for everyday groceries but if I am around the area just walking or grabbing a coffee , I am very sure I am going in .Love their cheese section and other accompaniments to a platter - I always love a cheese platter that I can make from the stuff here -crackers , nuts ,meats ,Jams ,olives - the options are unlimited. The hot bar is also very enticing and If you want a pre packed version of the things offered on display , the section at the back has most of the stuff in small boxes . I also really like that they have so many plant and dairy alternatives and good quality too . The produce section is where the money gets out of your hand , in-spite of fresh and organic produce its just not something I can justify buying when I know I can get it for slightly cheaper somewhere else . Staff is welcoming and ensure they provide a good customer service .

Claire H.

Yelp
Will be suing new seasons for the disability discrimination we received today at this location because my service dog was not wearing his vest - which he's not required to do but after being approached by the same employee twice who clearly only cared about exercising his power. I didn't think about having him in the cart for MY ease and efficiency of not having customers approach me so often which happens in every store and removed him when asked (was first asked to leave the store, to which I informed him he's an unmarked service dog. He then acted as any normal young service dog, followed all of my instructions & gave his que when my anxiety was peaking. To which the guy came over and said in his opinion my dog wasn't acting as New Season expects service dogs to ask and he's asking me to leave the store immediately - every single person that passed us showed love. No one but him showed any bother by him and as the cameras will show he did absolutely nothing wrong. Not to mention I'm an indigenous woman & he's a white man and this is Oregon so the likely hood of underlying racial motivation is extremely high.

Yelp
I had a long history stopping at this store for lunch on my way into Portland from the north. It was a welcome destination. Post pandemic, I finally had a chance to return. What a difference! Prepared food offerings were limited, and vegan options practically nil. I landed on Vietnamese tofu rolls, with peanut sauce. This was quite possibly the worst takeout item I'm ordered in my life. The skin (supposedly made from rice paper?) was like hard plastic -- inedible. The innards were ok, but hard to fish out and a mess after that. Not special. Made me wonder if anyone tries the goods before putting them out for sale. For dessert I tried a pack of apple hand pies, and this was the reverse: crust was ok, but the filling was gooey, supersweet industrial apple pie filling, or so it seemed. Overall $17 for food that we well below mediocre. I gave 2 starts because the rest of the store looks good and the staff were quite nice. But though I'll be in town on a regular basis now, not sure how excited I am to come back.

D F.

Yelp
I've had it with New Season's. The prices are outrageous, rude service by some young workers (though most are great) and new manager's don't know anything.

L. Jane F.

Yelp
Love new seasons! They always have a tasty but safe food option in their hot bar even with my plethora of food allergies. They label clearly what's in it and it's basic such as chicken with olive oil, salt, pepper but it's delish!!! The store is stocked with all the things! I find things here other stores don't carry.

Nathaneal M.

Yelp
I have worked for a new seasons before, and let me tell you, the differences between the two are astonishing. The staff is unfriendly and have no hustle. I sat at the sliced deli counter for 5 mins before I rang the bell. I didn't wanna be the person that rings the bell, but the two workers didn't even acknowledge me or my brother. Just kept slicing away. After ringing the bell, they helped but looked at me like I was an asshole. After being helped, the just tossed the bag up on the counter and didn't say anything. Being a floater at another spot, our staff never acted like that. Then I get to the express. A woman wearing a new seasons jacket was chatting up the one of two registers with someone else that worked there. The line was 4-5 people long. The times I've been there and they act like the world just revolves around them is crazy.

Carolyn F.

Yelp
4 stars for variety. Pricey market but the selection is excellent. I picked up a loaf of organic wheat levain ($4.99) My Local Honey 12oz, Chèvre and cottage cheese. A couple of odds and ends from the gift area. All came in @ $50. The honey is delicious as is the chèvre. The store was very clean, well organized, and colorful.

Adam W.

Yelp
Not very friendly with everyone, every time I go in here I see a group mentality of discrimination for those they chose not to like. Sad considering I have met several people who work here. Which would lead me to conclude they are two faced and believe it's not a problem. Good luck to you all

James S.

Yelp
I am telling you Folks. Don't sleep on the homemade lasagna. It may seem a little pricey. But, if you were to buy all of the ingredients, and the time it would take to prep and cook. It really is a fair deal. And, OMG! It is delicious! I always heat it in the oven to get the flavors going. Then into the fridge for at least 24 hours. NOW... Just warm it up and Enjoy!! Had to give it a review!!!!

Ammara T.

Yelp
Nice market but way overpriced! I just moved from Seattle and was expecting it to be pricy but not to be paying $3 for 1 avocado. They're not made of gold, so no thank you. The staff here was very friendly and helpful throughout the store. I picked up a few items on sale like the Cascadian Farm cereal, Beechers cheese, pancake mix and an almond croissant from the bakery that was extremely dry and not fresh at all. Overall, I wasnt impressed with the expereince and rather shop at Whole Foods or Trader Joes for the quality of products and better prices for the same exact brands!

Treasa M.

Yelp
New Seasons continues to decline. Ate lunch there today - tables and floors were filthy. Disgusting to expect customers to actually enjoy any food. The staff are too busy giving customers the evil eye assuming we're all shoplifters, but they don't care enough to clean the seating area. The location needs a visit from the Oregon Health Authority.

Jack G.

Yelp
Typical great New Seasons market. Nice selection; excellent quality. This particular location is home of the famous COVID protocol enforcement cashier. If you can make it thru her lane without getting "counseled", then you likely exceed any implied CDC recommendations imaginable. Worth it for the experience.

Billy C.

Yelp
Great fresh options, healthy food, and they take care of their employees. It's a bright and happy store unlike depressing safeway.

Gozer G.

Yelp
If this store has COVID protocols I haven't noticed them. Sure they have signs up about masks and social distance, but when a customer just ignores the rules and approaches people without a mask on, there are no consequences of any kind. The store workers just kinda stand and watch. I am never going to this store again for any reason. This place is a madhouse.

Quinn A.

Yelp
A little tight in the aisles, somewhat squeezed during busy times, but overall a well lit, clean, comfortable market with all my favorites. The prepared foods to-go are where I head first. They require only a bit of dressing up at home to make them great meals. A black bean cake on a tortilla with some shredded cabbage and tapatio is breakfast for me many mornings. I love crackers dipped in hummus and then the quinoa with dried fruit. The lemon kale tabouli, spicy noodles (add some shrimp and go), and Korean tofu are other favorites. Milk alternatives? Yes. Rows and rows of coffee, every protein bar ever made (except curiously balance bars, wazup with that?), tofu tofu tofu, all the products made by Amy's Kitchen, excellent produce. And yes, plenty of meat if that's your thing. And here it is, the challenge statement: the best sourdough bread in Portland. Boom!

Becky Y.

Yelp
New Seasons seems like a good place to stop by if you need something. I do think they're a bit expensive, but I haven't been to a lot of the other markets in the general area so I can't say for sure. They have a good selection of things, and kinda gave me Whole Foods vibes. The employees were also nice and would ask if you needed help (something I'm definitely not accustomed to). Overall, the place is really clean and was a very convenient stop for me.

Jana C.

Yelp
This market is fab! As I've enjoyed witnessing this corner of NW pearl expand and grow unto its own, along comes an anchor business: New Seasons! Very easy parking, with entrances on north and south sides, abutting to the new cool Besaws, and its vertiginous selection of everything. Inventory is well stocked, especially the wine section. I appreciated the in-house bar where tastings for beer and wine occur. Cheesemonger area well done. Very easy on the eyes, the layout of the new market. Bright and inviting. Shame the prices approximate Whole Foods' so closely,

Dana W.

Yelp
I've been shopping at new seasons since it opened and the quality of the products provided has slowly went down hill. Deli use to be a worth while but the prices have killed that option. Example- $7 for a slice of cake? Next is the no-choice paper bag charge. If you don't have one then you can pay for one. If you bring your own then they will charge you for something you Don't need or want then give the money to their charity. Charities often are a good thing but since it's not a choice then this puts this in the category of stealing. Seems like it would be easier to charge those who don't bring a bag- simple. Im shopping at another store from now on.

Yelp
BEST item "secret" I lived on Maui for 15 years. Once you have gotten used to real Hawaiian pineapples, you simply cannot eat mainland grocery store pineapples ie; "Dole" from Costa Rica or the Philippines. I about did the hula in the produce department when I discovered New Seasons frequently carries fresh MAUI GOLD brand pineapples for less than you can buy them on Maui for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Roger M.

Yelp
This updates my review yesterday. I emailed Country Natural Beef, Wes Davies, Marketing, and asked if the cattle received any GMO grain. His response is as follows: "The beef we supply New Seasons is fed a finishing ration that doesn't include any corn or any GMO ingredients. However, the animals may have consumed GMO feed prior to finishing. We estimate that about 25% of the cattle that are in this program have eaten GMO grain at some point in their life prior to finishing." This is a bit contrary from what the New Seasons butcher told me yesterday. NO COUNTRAYT NATURAL BEEF FOR ME AFTERALL CUZ I WANT TO BE UNEQUIVOCALLY COMPLETELY GMO FREE! Note: beware of info supplied at any store, go direct to the farmer for accuracy. This 2 star is not a cut on the overall great products and services at New Seasons, more about the info supplied not "right on" and misleading!

Yelp
New Seasons wasn't my first inclination to grab a coffee in Slabtown. But with a neighboring cafe during peak time adjacent to an outdoor market, and having seen the line wrapping around the block for a cup of joe, I thought that perhaps they would have a little coffee cart as is so en vogue these days in grocery stores. I was rapt to see that indeed they did, and that this was no normal espresso stand. This coffee counter was simply magical. An abundant array of pastries greeted us from inside the counter. Cakes (including a Mt Adams cake!! My most favorite cake in the whole world!) cookies, cannolis, carrot muffins, candies, croissants... you get the picture! And all made with the utmost quality. Sure, it's a coffee shop, but don't be afraid to get your bake on! I grabbed an iced chai to go with my two-bite, pistachio crème and dark chocolate cannolis. My chai was not overly sweet, and you could see bits of spices swirling around. This is the real deal, folks! Making chai at home from scratch is one of my hobbies, so I know a good one when I see it. My partner grabbed a glistening carrot muffin that looked so moist you could put out a matchstick with it. So anyway, I'm only going to review the coffee shop at New Seasons today. I'll save the rest for next time I find myself shopping there. But A++!!

Robert H.

Yelp
Most New Seasons stores are similar. This one looks to be in an old warehouse with clearstory windows. Seems like they could use a little more insulation. They do have a parking garage, essential in this neighborhood. This is a review of their African peanut (ground nut) soup. I have been on the quest for this soup or stew. When I was in West Africa, it was on the menu, but they were always out. The only place I've found it reliably in the world is the McMenamins Barley Mill. I'll keep looking. So I've been refining my own recipe at home. It has a lot of tomatoes, whole peanuts, ginger, coriander, cinnamon and cloves. Mine is slightly sweet with the tomatoes. The New Season's version is primarily peanut butter with sweet potato, onion and a small amount of chopped tomato. It's salty.

Polly H.

Yelp
I throughly enjoyed this supermarket. I walked in to find free coffee, wine tasting, and friendly vibe. This is my place to get random things I forgot back home. I was able to buy a water bottle (canteen) and La Nossa Familia coffee. It is spacious and clean. I would definitely recommend visiting this place. Just inviting.

Jason K.

Yelp
I like New Seasons quite a bit in general. Their produce is great, especially the fruit. But yikes--the Slabtown store's customer service can be extraordinarily hostile. I stop by about twice a week, and once every month or two, a cashier takes it upon themselves to remind me of that lovely PNW passive aggression. This doesn't happen that often, but when it does, the contempt for customers is palpable. I called to complain once, taking pains to be polite while I did it. The person I spoke to did not hide his annoyance at having to interact with an actual customer. I could practically hear his eyes rolling over the phone. He was careful to say, "I'm sorry you had a bad experience," and that would have been fine--but his tone made it clear that he was effing *delighted* by my experience. The Slabtown store seems to get significantly more Yelp customer service complaints than the other locations. I've never had an issue at any other NS location. I can only assume that the distain for customers comes not from any individual cashier but straight from the Slabtown management team--they seem to be fine with it. If they weren't, they'd have fixed the problem by now.

Brooke B.

Yelp
Love this store. They have the best selection in every department from produce to cheese I can always count on finding something high quality and delicous. It is great for groceries, for a quick coffee or for lunch. I especially love their sampling station at the front of the store. I've discovered so many great new products that way.

Kendall S.

Yelp
I love other locations but the girl at checkout was so incredibly rude to me for no reason. It made me so uncomfortable because I love other locations and am I loyal customer. She has blonde hair and short bangs, I wish I got her name. I won't be coming back to this location :(

Kristina J.

Yelp
Well-stocked but poor (and weird) selection. Removal of half the bulk items is a big bummer. Pretty rude staff. At best you're ignored at worst... I don't expect much but basic kindness would be kinda nice. And severely overloading all my groceries into one bag when I gave you three is unnecessary. I repacked before I left so I could lift the bag. its convenient but I prefer the staff and selection at Cedar Mills.

Yelp
Long overdue review. Honestly I'm here probably 5 days out of the week and sometimes take more than 1 trip a day. They have mostly all the goods I need and things I never thought I needed. Olive bar is solid. They used to sell the bigger mushrooms at the olive bar but now they have these tiny variety kinds. Bring the bigger pickled mushrooms back!! I buy a lot of cheese here and cheese guy behind the counter can vouch for me. Plenty of options and he's extremely helpful. I don't buy produce here because it's crazy expensive, organic or not. Wish the parking situation was better but now that I live steps away, not my problem anymore. Still, would be nice for everyone else. Cons: Besides my cheese guy who is so warm and welcoming I can see what other people are saying about the employees at this location. SOOO damn rude and aggressive. Pretty sure it's because I'm this little brown girl living in their neighborhood or what but it makes me not want to go here.

Yelp
I was working in this neighborhood today and had about an hour before work started for the day. I'm an early riser and I would rather be too early to work than late. I'm just like my dad in this regard, and being late makes me feel not right in my skin. And, of course the best part is stopping for coffee and a scone when hardly anyone is in the store is the best of all. It was fun to come back and observe change. The store hasn't changed at all really. I was there for their opening day just three years ago, so it should still be in great shape and is. What has changed dramatically is all the new construction, apartments in particular, and it's pretty amazing. This area was pretty rough not 20 years ago and strictly for industrial use.Now very upscale as are the rent prices. I enjoyed my early morning solitude with my tasty treats in the company of New Seasons an old Portland friend.

Yelp
I love New Seasons. They have a great commitment to local products and healthy food. It's not over priced and almost all their stores are staffed by courteous and knowledgable people. This location is not. I hate to write this because I do love the company, but I have some of the worst experiences with grocery store staff. At this location they have a guy working the cashier who is incredibly rude and aggressive. He's very tall and has a large nose ring between both nostrils. The guy has a huge chip on his shoulder. I've seen this guy get into multiple altercations while working. He usually will try to crack a joke about someone's appearance or clothing or mumble something under his breath while they walk up! It's insane that someone hired this guy or hasn't fired him. The last time I came in he made some joke under his breath when I walked up...I asked him what he said and proceeds to just stare at me.....I am here to buy groceries! Not engage in a pissing contest with this salty bitter guy with a huge chip on his shoulder.

Yelp
Verdict: expensive, but extremely high quality. If you have the money -- or you want to invest in high quality ingredients, I would shop here. BERRIES: they've been having this sale for berries in the last 2 months where they do 6 pints for 20 dollars. That's expensive. But the berries are amazing quality. They tell you exactly what farm they come from, and the blueberries are so plentiful that they just have a big tray of them you scoop up yourself into a paper bag. BANANA CAKE: this is what they're known for. Try it once. It's good. So rich. OTHER COOL STUFF: I like the fresh baked bread for $5. Definitely worth the price. The hot bar can be hot or miss. The plants by the entrances are really nice, but also pretty expensive. They have everything else a supermarket should have, from wine to protein powder to milk to frozen foods. Don't be scared off by the high produce prices! Try them once. You'll taste the quality.

Yelp
I really like this New Seasons! It's really spacious and has a good variety of the groceries and snacks I like to buy. The hot foods as well as the deli and bakery area are great too! My only issue is that sometimes it's difficult to get parking and on really busy days I've had a hard time finding seating to eat inside. Other than that- everything's great and will continue to grocery shop & snack here every time I'm in Portland!

Yelp
Had a great experience here. Pulled right in and got a front row parking spot. I'd called ahead to order some leg of lamb & duck fat (these aren't carried by most grocery stores), and they had it waiting for me in the meat department. All the staff I encountered were really friendly, living up to their motto. I'll be back!

Yelp
That Azah's Kitchen just keeps getting better. Today I tried a lentil and garbanzo bean pasta salad, and it is excellent. They make the best hummus, too. Would like for that baba ganoush to make a come back. We saw it once about a year ago, and that was it. Let's please have a baba ganoush cameo one of these weekends.
