New Shanghai Restaurant

This is our family’s go-to Chinese restaurant. The food is always amazing and the atmosphere is clean and friendly. Staff is incredibly friendly and I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area. Today our table had the combination chow mein and house chicken. The house chicken is a spicy and sweet classic dish I highly recommend. Overall this place is a must try if you haven’t already!

The food here is absolutely delicious, every dish was full of flavor and perfectly cooked. The portions are generous, and everything tasted so fresh. I highly recommend this place and I’ll be coming back for sure!

Very clean restaurant. Unbelievable value. My wife was looking for BBQ Egg Foo Yung. We didn't want to pay a fortune for smaller portions. She enjoyed it. I usually base my Chinese food options on whether or not the Mongolian beef looks good and tastes good. This looks good and tastes great! We will definitely return!

This place reminds me of bobs burgers were set in a chinese restraunt. Definitely family ran and the service from children is part of the charm. The crab rangoon favors sweet over savory and the food is more traditional and less americanized than most chinese in stockton.

Solid food the Mongolian Beef with white rice was great but the walnut prawns were lacking in amount and sauce. The flavor was way too light and for the price it wasn’t worth but I would need to try it again with more sauce maybe. Update: I got the walnut prawns with extra sauce and it tastes much better. I also got orange chicken with fried rice this time and the fried rice is great. Good sauce on the orange chicken too.

Might just have found a new favorite Chinese food joint. Food takeout was delish, and the service was excellent 10/10. Looking to become a regular customer.

The food was horrible; we ordered at work on Christmas; found whole chicken with head and eyes instead orange chicken. None of us could eat rest of the food. Just had throw everything away

My wife and I have been getting take out from here for a while as we liked the ease of their ordering. We decided to dine in today and neither of us regretted that choice. The food was fresh, well seasoned, well sauced, and very flavorful. Food was run as it was cooked and we could see the steam as it sat on our table. The portions are generous and worth more than every penny we spent (which isn't a ton because the prices are so reasonable!).

The best Chinese restaurant in Stockton. They have a variety of high quality dishes. The traditional chow mein contains the skinnier noodles contrary to most restaurants that uses the fatter variety. It also has more vegetables than most. I highly recommend their chicken dishes. The server is very polite and attentive. Please support this local, family owned and operated business.

Have gotten takeout twice with my parents, who use to also own a Chinese restaurant. Their standards are high. We are impressed by the quality and portion of food here. The HK noodles were perfectly crisp, without the nasty old oil taste and smell. We also had a beef dish (can't remember the English name lol) See pic, there's more beef than vegetables. I've never seen that before at any other restaurant. IMO, they could charge way more. They were respectably busy when we stopped by today, every table had ordered several dishes. There's one cook so it was a little wait, but well worth it.

Everything was delicious! Literally a Mom & Pop restaurant where the husband cooks, the wife serves, and their son also helps. I always order salt and pepper tofu when it's on the menu at a restaurant, and theirs is the best in town! Perfect combination of crispy on the outside and soft, not rubbery, on the inside. Definitely a must. My mom ordered the fillet rock cod with snow peas, and it was super flavorful. They gave sesame balls for dessert, and it was perfectly thin and crispy on the outside. Great service, clean/calm environment, delicious food. Highly recommend!!!

I absolutely love this place. The main reason is that they serve authentic, unique Chinese food! I'm a salted fish lover and they offer it here. I only know 2 other Chinese restaurants in Stockton that serves that. They serve it in their fried rice and today I had it in my clay pot. Prices are reasonable and the server was sweet as can be admits that it was busy. Very clean restaurant and I recommend!

Maybe the best Chinese restaurant in Stockton. Owner moved over from another location and it is great! Try the fish fried rice, salt and pepper tofu, or Singapore noodles. Definitely worth a try, one of our go-tos on a regular basis.

Great food!! Won ton soup was excellent. Crab ragoon was delicious. Sweet n sour pork was perfect. Waitress was always at our table to see if we needed anything. Stop by and taste their food!

Food was excellent. It came piping hot and service was great. The mushrooms in the mushroom beef dish were huge and cooked to perfection. My favorite was the fried green beans. They had a light and flaky tempora crunch. I couldn't stop myself from eating them all. Tables are clean, service is impeccable and food is great and delicious!

Hadn't been here since prior owner was here. I ordered my food to go. The tomato beef with crunchy noodles was very good (a little too sweet, but I enjoyed it) The beef chow fun (rice noodles) was unflavorful & had almost no beef. I would definitely come back for their tomato beef noodles

After attending a volleyball tournament at Sacramento State on a rainy Saturday afternoon, we decided to have dinner at New Shanghai upon Mom's recommendation. We ordered beef chow fun (dry), Chinese broccoli with Chinese sausage, and chicken mushroom with mixed vegetables, with a small order of steamed rice. The dishes were tasty, flavorful, and filling. The prices were very reasonable. The dining area was small and cozy, giving you the feel of a family-owned business. If you have a hankering for delicious Chinese without breaking your bank account, visit the New Shanghai. You won't regret it!

I don't typically rate 5 stars but the service was excellent, the food was delicious and the place was very clean. The owners go above and beyond to make their customers comfortable and happy. You can tell they put a lot of effort into their business and it shows in their food and customer service. This is now one of my go to spots.

I really wanted to like it but I didn't. I got the house chicken and it was a lot but extremely dry. Also got the beef chow fun and that was ok but not enough beef. The costumer service was good the lady at the front was very nice.

Had to return to this small Restaurant off of Pacific, the new Shanghai love their luncheon specials love their Service you could be sure that you will be greeted with a smile when you walk in they are so accommodating to their customers And their food is served hot and don't forget to try their mango pudding. So delicious.

Usually I take it to go but I finally had a dine in dinner. The food was so good! It was all pipping hot and delicious! It's under new ownership so it's really good. Highly recommend

Great place for Tomato Beef Chow Mein...pan fried noodles top it off. Great chef using old style of Cantonese cuisine.

Vegetable deluxe was fresh. The dim sun was hot, took too long more than 20 minutes. FujIan Yee Mee was great, if you like Cantonese style Chinese Food.

A new favorite !! We don't live in Stockton but we love to come enjoy the culture and good food. This restaurant will on our list to return to- very soon!! We ordered the orange chicken and cashew nut chicken. A tip: (that goes for most chinese restaurants) you'll have to order rice and noodles separate as everything is it's own portion The portions are huge and the food is PHENOMENAL!! So fresh and definitely very professionally put together. The chicken was tender and the veggies were crunchy. The orange chicken is unlike anything I've ever tried ! So yummy and tastes like Mandarin oranges with lemon zest, and they don't skimp on the sauce. The potstickers were very fresh and crunchy. My boyfriend is usually so picky ! But he inhaled the whole order without offering any (rude) Definitely worth trying!

New management/owners again. Poor service and food. I had to keep chasing the waitress down to get any service (we were the only people there and then one couple came in so it wasn't busy at all) We ordered hot tea and were served warm tea so it didn't steep the tea. It was just warm water. We also ordered 2 cokes and she brought us 2 room temperature cans of soda so I asked for cups of ice and they brought us 2 cups with almost no ice. I don't mind bad service if the food is good but the food isn't seasoned well/lacks flavor and took a really long time to come out. Very disappointing experience, I grew up coming to this restaurant and it's just gone downhill with every new owner.

In my opinion best Chinese food in the northern Stockton area. Great customer service. Food taste good. Always worth it. I've never been disappointed

Good customer service, food are delicious specially the shrimp fried rice, garlic ribs and salty fish. I really recommend this place. I don't have to go out of town for delicious food!

The food is super good and authentic. The restaurant is under a new ownership, and the owners are super friendly and attentive. They also have lunch plates, it comes with a bowl of soup and the amount is huge. The restaurant atmosphere is quiet, and really nice to be in. I really recommend this restaurant if you're looking for good Chinese food for a reasonable price!

June 4,2023 under new owners & cook. Our party of 4 adults there for lunch. The restaurant is very clean & bright. Service was prompt & courteous. The food was excellent & large portions. The price was very reasonable. This is a very good Chinese restaurant. The new owners are friendly & we will be regulars there for Chinese food . (We are not related to the owners).

The service was nice they told me that I can look at what they do in the kitchen and I saw I person less then10 years old and I ask him what is his name and he said Rio.I gave them a 20 dollar tip because the food was so good and in all the employees were so Nice.

We've been coming to New Shanghai for over a year. We've always enjoyed the quality of the food. The foods are tasty. We have enjoyed many of the menu items. Service is prompt and friendly. The restaurant is neat and clean.

We had the shrimp and lobster sauce, and it doesn't disappoint. The pot sticker is really good too. The service is great, the lady is very accommodating. We had a great experience.

I like the food and I like the couple that run the place. Sometimes the kids are sitting at a table doing homework or eating. Old school family run place. So if you have kids , bring them along. Give it a try.
