"Sushi Factory (140 Brighton Ave, Boston, MA 02134), an all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant in Allston, has closed for renovations. A note from the Boston Inspectional Services Department taped to the restaurant’s window indicates that the renovations to the restaurant’s dining room walls and floors are being made to “meet [the] new menu.” The restaurant’s interior has been gutted, further confirming an ongoing renovation. The note also indicates that the restaurant’s ownership remains the same. Sushi Factory owner Ying Huang also owns Mala Restaurant and Hi B3ar Ice Cream Roll, which are both located across the street. According to a sign posted to its front door, Hi B3ar Ice Cream Roll is also closed for renovations. Sushi Factory opened in November 2017 in the space once occupied by Redneck’s and briefly by Kirin Teppanyaki & Wok. Its menu offered sushi, sashimi, maki rolls, a collection of special rolls, cakes, and tiramisu. Eater has reached out to Huang for comment, and will update this post as more information becomes available." - Terrence Doyle

"New Sushi, Inc. has taken over the former Mixx Frozen Yogurt shop at 66 Brighton Ave. and could open soon within the new space. New Sushi first opened nearly a year ago at 106 Cambridge St., near Government Center. The concept is the work of local restaurateur Henderson Li, who is also behind Nijiya, an all-you-can-eat sushi spot in Medford, and Hoshi-ya in Brighton, as previously reported. The restaurant embraced what were, at the time, two rapidly expanding trends in Boston: The menu features variations on both poke bowls and sushi burritos, giving diners the chance to choose from proteins such as tuna, shrimp tempura, and grilled chicken as fillings for either entree, with further customizations available in terms of toppings and sauces. New Sushi’s Facebook page offers a preview of the new Allston space, which is already filled with tables and a menu board. Update, 2/8/18, 11:45 a.m.: New Sushi, Inc. opens tomorrow, February 9, at 5 p.m." - Dana Hatic

Certainly convenient for BU Students, but it is middle of the road in terms of flavor/quality. Very attractive price point. Rolls left much to be desired though, I was pretty disappointed at the quality/presentation of their Maki. If you’re going to come here, definitely go for the hand rolls or the Poke bowls.

First time trying this place and got delivery. The portions were decent for one person. But the quality was not the greatest or freshest. Compared to other places.

Great poké bowls! I really enjoyed the option to have full creativity over the contents of the bowl. Food was fresh and tasty. I personally really enjoyed the ginger sauce.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food here. We dined in and I got the Chirashi which is sashimi over rice. The seafood was fresh and flavorful, the rice was high quality and the garnishes were refreshing. I highly recommend this dish. My friend got the salmon poke bowl which he loved. Prices are very fair for the quality. Looking forward to coming back.

Best sushi I’ve had in Boston and surrounding area. I love sushi, so the quality of my sushi is important to me. Ive been to numerous sushi places around the city, you name it I’ve been there. Nothing, and I mean nothing compares to new sushi Allston. Not to mention the prices are great aswell. Customer service is amazing, the sushi chef knows the order I always get, he even throws a free spicy miso(which is amazing) whenever I place an order. I would highly recommend this place over any other sushi restaurants, even the high end ones.

I read the reviews for this place and was really excited to try it out! Ordering online and pickup went smoothly, but as soon as I opened the lid to my poke, something was amiss. The sheer quantity of mayonnaise atop the bowl was astounding. I made the mistake of trying to mix the mayo into the rest of the bowl but all I did was make the entire dish inedible. My warning. Unless you are a lover of copious amounts of mayonnaise, DO NOT order mayo or spicy mayo as your sauce.
