I recently visited New Village Gastropub and had a great experience. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, with a clean, modern setup that made it easy to relax and enjoy the night. The food came out fresh and flavorful. The staff was attentive and friendly throughout the visit, making sure everything was taken care of. Overall, it’s a solid spot with great energy, good food, and excellent service.

Chill spot to eat, drink and be merry with friends/family. They have delicious Korean staples. We got their signature fried chicken, bossam, and steamed egg w/ cheese. Loved the light crispy coat on the chicken. Chicken itself was juicy w/ mild flavor- I would’ve loved a side of hot sauce though, it needed a spicy kick. Bossam cuts were thick and fatty. With the dipping sauce, it was👌🏼. It just so happens I’m due for bloodwork. My lipid panel is gonna be great this week lol. It was worth it! Located in a strip mall with a small parking lot right outside. Service was great, no complaints. There’s a button on the side of the table to call your server over. Utensils & napkins are also located in the drawer by that button. So much food we had leftovers to take home. Highly recommend, would def come back to try other dishes. Might be helpful to make a reservation if you’re going on Friday evening or weekend. They get busy.

Me and my family have been coming here for a long time now. We love the food,the atmosphere and the staff are always attentive and kind. We've been there so many times,they always remember us and treat us well. Food is great and now they have updated their menu with more options. Great quality,great quantity. Came here just for the food and it did not disappoint. The Korean BBQ was delicious, the meat was fresh and flavorful, and the side dishes were really good. Everything tasted well-prepared and satisfying.

One of the best korean fried chicken and seafood pancakes I've had in the Chicagoland area! Amazing and fast service, delicious food, such a lovely meal! Everything we ordered was delicious, but the seafood pancakes and the fried chicken stood out to me the most. I also enjoyed the tendon and shank bone broth - very hearty and umami-filled. Would definitely be back again next time!

A busy atmosphere with a hip and happening vibe for a Saturday evening out. Inside was definitely geared for those who like the mix of restaurant/club/eatery. If going with a large group, definitely make a reservation or call ahead. Wait staff was friendly and quick as well as attentive to refilling water jug given at your table. Utensil and napkin drawers on side of table added a unique flair. Food came quickly and was tasty and temperature hot. A lot of choices on the menu ranging from cooking at table with mini stove, to Ala carte ordering or even family style sharing. A definite vibe to try, enjoy the food, and check this place out.

An Absolute Hidden Gem in Northbrook! We had an amazing time at New Village Gastropub, what an incredible experience from start to finish! The Korean spirits were top-notch, the food was absolutely delicious, and the energy in the place was just perfect. It's clear that everyone there already knows this spot is a hidden gem. The multiple karaoke rooms made the night super fun, it's such a cool setup to enjoy great food, drinks, and then sing your heart out with friends. We honestly had a blast and will definitely be coming back frequently! Special shout-out to Dan and Joe, they were outstanding! Their service made the night even better, and we were thrilled to leave a big tip (almost 50% of the total bill!) because they truly earned it. If you haven't checked out New Village Gastropub yet, go here! This place is the best. Great vibes, amazing staff, fantastic drinks, and unbeatable food.

The dog was overrated. It came out raw. The servers were very kind. The setting was nice and everyone seemed to enjoy it. The food was amazing besides the dog. I would go back.

Great experience. The service is fast and attentive. They have a service call button too. The decor is cute and the spacing feels good. We were supposed to come with friends but the timing didn't work so it was just two of us. We ordered the 3 main things I wanted to try and didn't realize the portions were huge so I had a lot of takeout at the end. I feel like each dish could feed 2-3 people, which makes sense because it's for socializing and drinking. Market chicken - deep fried whole chicken. The server ripped the chicken into small pieces at our table. There's a side of salt and pepper if you need more flavor. The dark meat parts were juicy but the breast meat was more dry. The skin was very crispy. Bossam - lots of flavor options to layer. I do feel the ratio of the items are a bit off. Like not quite enough garlic, Napa or lettuce for each slice of pork belly. The thin sheets of radish weren't super pickled but it seems homemade. I think the menu mentioned perilla leaves but we never got any. Sea snail, squid, muchim - was my favorite. They're generous with the squid and sea snail. The muchim is seasoned vegetables and there's lots of it, making it a refreshing and healthy dish. There's also noodles. It's a bit difficult to mix together since the noodles clumped a bit but the flavor from the muchim did coat everything. Even the squid had flavor after mixing. The squid and sea snail were both tender and not hard to the chew. Would definitely come back to try more on the menu! And get the muchim again.

05/24/25 - First time @ New Village Gastro Pub @ 3566 Milwaukee Ave in Northbrook & it won't be my last time. I can here w/my wife & 3 siblings visiting from out of state. We came here near the last day of my sister from Virginia & brother from Berkley CA visit My sister Sue (11 year Yelp Elite) turned us on to this place. Really a cool vibe but a much much younger crowd than my family. Even tho us old geezers really enjoyed the vibe & the food both were outstanding. It's great when we get together as we can enjoy each others company & order food family style which gives us an opportunity to try many different dishes. The food & service were outstanding. She sister had been here before so she deferred ordering to her expertise. She did a great job w/her selection & we all enjoyed a tremendous meal. She started w/a hot pot that was very good (spicy) loaded w/all sorts of goodies meats, veggies....she ordered a whole fried chicken that was absolutely remarkable. The server brought the chicken to the table & proceeded to tear it apart w/her thermal mitts. The chicken was one of the stars of the meal w/thin chicken skin that seasoned superbly & was super crispy. That skin was to die for. The other dishes one Pork Bulgogi w/shredded scallions & tofu. The steamy egg soufflé w/cheese was excellent. There was another dish w/bacon & the long rice noodles. I thoroughly enjoyed this meal as the ambiance was really cool vibe, excellent food, great service & best of all getting to enjoy this w/my wife &

Such good Korean food! We came here on a Wednesday night and it was still pretty full, I can only imagine what a weekend rush would be like. There were 2-3 waiters, they have bells you can ring when you need something and the waiters are really quick at attending to you. We got the spam and kimchi friend rice, tteokbokki, and the stir fried squid with noodles. We didn't like the fried rice, there wasn't much flavor to it. But we loved the squid with the noodles, so spicy, flavorful and delicious! Definitely coming back for more of their food!!

Really really solid Korean food. This is probably one of my favorite Korean spots in the suburbs. The restaurant is in a strip shopping center with other stores. There's plenty of tables in the restaurant to seat a small party. We came on a Tuesday at 5:45 pm and the restaurant quickly filled up by 6:30 pm. My friends and I shared the rose tokbokki, the seafood jampong, and the fried chicken. Everything tasted superb. The chicken was perfectly seasoned with crispy skin and tender meat. The jampong came with generous portions of seafood and noodles. The soup had a Smokey flavor and was full of depth. The rose tokbokki reminded me of Indian butter chicken. Inside the dish there were glass noodles, sausages, bacon, and rice cakes. The rice is free of charge which is a nice perk, since a lot of places usually charge you $1 for it. The service was super friendly and efficient. Will definitely be back to try more of their menu items. I love that the tables come with call buttons so you can get helped very quickly.

We decided to pay a visit to the restaurant given all the amazing reviews. The restaurant is located at a strip mall across the street from H Mart in Northfield. The restaurant seemed popular among Asians. Different than your typical Korean restaurant that serves bibimbop and bulgogi dishes, this place feature Korean comfort food and has some unusual options, sea nail and octopus muchim for example. We ordered their army stew and steamed dumplings for the kid. For what it is, I would say they were both pricey. The army stew was once quite popular in Asia, which really is just cheap meats and instant noodles boiled in kimchi soup. The portion was good but the whole thing was overpriced ($27). The steam dumplings ($17) came with three different flavors which had decent taste.

I love coming back to this place! Their seafood pancake and fried chicken is just insanely amazingly delicious. I have taken my family here multiple times and this is literally my to go dinner place whenever I'm in the suburb with my partner. The price is super reasonable, the fried chicken skin is super crispy and batter isn't too thick. The seafood pancake is loaded with flavors and a ton of seafood. They do not skimp at all! I haven't had a single bad menu item from this place. I tried their spicy/regular soup, gizzards, and intestines in which they all blew my mind away. I love it when they rip the chicken in front of me because you can see the juice dripping down onto the plate.

Very authentic!!!! New Village Gastro Pub was worth the hype I've seen online. They had a huge menu so it was hard to choose what to get. My favorite (and everyone's favorite) was the fried rice. We got it without spam and it was still very good. The popcorn chicken was also a hit. It was super crunchy and came with a really good sauce. I didn't love the Traditional Tteok bok ki because it was very spicy and I didn't like that the dumplings in it came fried. We also tried the beef bulgogi & that was another favorite of the table. It's pretty small inside, so if you have a bigger group I would recommend making a reservation. Overall, I want to go back to try more things on the menu!!

Love the food, the ambiance, and the service. The soft tofu soup was great as well as the steamed egg and seafood casserole. The flavors were on point and delicious. Only thing not so good is the parking lot situation, as there are several neighboring businesses and just not a lot of parking spots. But you may get lucky.

Delicious food and amazing speedy service. Big and spacious karaoke rooms to dine and sing at. I had the truffle fries and beef brisket with bean sprouts. The fries are sooo good I came here again. 10/10 you MUST dine here if you love karaoke and Korean food. I also reccomend the Market Fried Chicken if you're coming here for the first time. Our server was Sandy and she was really helpful!!!

New Village has a lively and vibrant vibe. The lights, the sounds, murals and decor invites you in for an exciting night of food and fun with friends/family. I was really excited until we walked in and was met with a strong strange smell of cleaning product/bathroom/wet mop. It was odd because I was expecting aromas of delicious Korean food. It is such a great place to gather it's easy to overlook the unpleasant smell. We spent two hours in the Big Karaoke Room. The maximum number of people for the Big room is 16 people. We had 15 people and were quite comfortable. The staff members serving us were super helpful, attentive, and friendly catering to our large group. The karaoke equipment took a minute to figure out and navigate for a non Korean-reading/speaking non-Korean. There was a youtube option to pull up songs, but the host said since their internet was spotty, using the traditional Karaoke tablet was recommended-- but this option takes a minute to figure out how to use their catalog system of songs. Also, the tablet to select songs is not bluetooth so I had to remember to aim the tablet at the machine to make a selection like a remote control. Once we figured everything out, it was a blast singing popular songs together! *Just a side note, we had some kids with us, most songs seemed to be the originals (not edited/radio version) Considering it being a pub, it probably isn't meant for kids---however, we still felt comfortable bringing the kids and the family had a great time together! We ordered a few Korean Style Market Chickens, Steamed & Fried Dumplings, Bulgolgi, Seafood Pancakes, Bossam, sweet potato and truffle fries, and popcorn chicken. The food came out sizzling hot, fried chicken was crispy, seafood pancakes were panfried yet fluffy and full of big pieces of seafood/veggies mixed in. I would definitely come again for a group gathering!

Bustling fun atmosphere with excellent fast service & extensive menu of Korean pub food. Stopped by after a round of golf for some Somek (soju+beer) and their famous whole Korean fried chicken and army stew which hit the spot for us. Will definitely go back to try other pub dishes when in the area.

Growing up in the North shore in the 90s and always being asked "where are you from?" It brings a special joy to my heart that Korea is no longer an unknown country. From K-pop to K-beauty and most important of all K-food! Start to finish New Village Gastro pub is amazing! The decor alone is visually delightful. It really feels like you're in "old school" Korea during the days of pojang macha. Even the tables remind you! You have to check out the karaoke alley too! All of their food is great. Ddukbokgee, the whole chicken, the snail & squid muchim. My mouth is watering thinking of all the things they have there. It's a busy place so try to grab ressies if you can. I've been there several times but my first time posting a review. Service is great and just like a Korean place they have those wonderful bells that call the servers so you don't have to flag someone down like you're landing a plane. Also try their drinks! I personally liked their screw cocktail. Soju, sprite, and a screw popsicle (Korean). So refreshing. New Village is a great place to celebrate being alive!

We come by Niles at least once a year when we are in town but I don't remember coming across this restaurant. I was looking for Korean food with good reviews, so decided to meet here with friends. We ordered just two items, I wish I can order every item on the menu. We got the snail squid moochim. It was refreshing and delightful. I really liked the crunch from the cabbage, onions, and the addition of perilla leaves. The seasoning was slightly spicy and squid and snail proteins were a good combination to the veggies. I do think the chewy noodle ratio was small compared to the rest of the entree ingredients. The portion was huge. My hubby ordered the spicy pork with cheese. I had a bite of it and although I am not a big fan of cheese these days, it paired well with the pork. I will be coming back the next time I am in town.

Amazing Korean food! I was a bit worried the food wouldn't be as good for takeout, but everything was great. The kimchi fried rice, whole fried chicken, and squid spicy cold noodles were super delicious and I definitely recommend trying those out! If you don't really feel like eating in this restaurant's environment, takeout is just as good!

7/12/2025 - Came on a Saturday evening for dinner and got seated immediately for 2 people. The vibes were high and fun with a pub-like environment. We ordered the Army Stew, Sea Snail and Squid Muchim, and Corn Cheese and they were all great! Portions were generous and so there were a lot of leftovers. Definitely be coming back!

This place has the perfect mix of great food, amazing drinks, and friendly service. The atmosphere is warm and lively without being too loud -- perfect for any night out. Highly recommend.

Food is excellent. Probably the best dduk I've ever had. The chicken feet were too spicy tho! Taking off a star for the chicken feet and also because they told us the wait would be 10-20 minutes, but ended up being 45.

Great place for late night Korean food outside of Chicago. I could pick at the cheesy corn, the cheesy pork and teubokki all day too. The army stew is huge and feeds 4 (I think). The staff are really nice and attentive and the karaoke rooms are just on the other side. If you need to eat some good food and let out some steam, this place is perfect.

Stir-Fried Squid with Hand-Cut Noodles 8.72/10 - Despite my usual preference for calamari, this dish was a revelation. The tender squid was perfectly complemented by the crisp cabbage, garlic, onion, and a kick from the hot pepper. The hand-cut noodles soaked up the rich, spicy sauce, creating a harmonious blend of textures and flavors that left me wanting more. Truly an unexpected delight. Army Stew with Ramen Noodles 8.48/10 - This dish was a hearty, comforting bowl of deliciousness. The savory broth, though intensely spicy, paired wonderfully with the tender ramen noodles. The combination of hams, sausages, spicy kimchi, tofu, and vegetables created a rich and satisfying experience. Despite the broth's fiery heat, which tested my high spice tolerance, the flavors were balanced and deeply comforting. Beef Bulgogi 9.47/10 - A traditional masterpiece, this beef bulgogi was nothing short of exceptional. The beef was incredibly tender, and the accompanying vegetables were cooked to perfection. The flavors melded together beautifully, making each bite a delightful experience. Kimchi Fried Rice 9.67/10 - This kimchi fried rice was an absolute standout. While it was incredibly spicy, the flavors were so well balanced and it was an excellent dish. The addition of a perfectly cooked egg on top elevated the dish to new heights, adding a creamy richness that perfectly complemented the heat. The dish was a perfect blend of heat and savoriness. Can't go wrong with getting Soju as well- they had lots of options for drinks but had to go with a classic. This place not only has the best Korean food that I've had- but also offers karaoke and is open till late night! Absolutely loved every single dish I tried here! The kimchi fried rice was amazing on its own, but mixing it with the cheese corn? Everything was packed with flavor. The vibe is super chill but still feels like a gastropub--great for a casual hangout or dinner. Service was good, and the food came out pretty quick. Definitely adding this to my regular rotation!

We love this place and always try to come when we are in Northbrook. Very nice pub vibe and great food! From appetizer to main dishes, nothing disappoints. They are creative and the food is a perfect mix of authentic Korean with innovative elements that you don't always get elsewhere. The stews are our favorites. Downside - I wish they had bigger tables and more attentive service. It's great for casual dining!

Finally got the chance to go here after hearing about it quite a while ago. We were in the area coming back from Milwaukee and wanted to try it. As you walk in, I noticed almost everyone here was actually Korean so I knew it had to be pretty good. I was right - we were sat in about 15 minutes and both of the items were ordered were delicious. I think we both really liked the chicken gizzard for sure. As a pro tip, I would check their waitlist on Yelp to see if you can join if you're nearby during peak dining hours because I think we would have saved a little time had we done that.

This Gastro pub is so good. Excellent service food is delicious. I had the good fortune to be accepted to a Yelp event that was held here this evening . Thank you so much to my community manager, Keisha and her assistant Celeste. This is my third time at this restaurant. It's so cute great menu fantastic service. Everything is coming out fresh and piping hot. If you like fried chicken it's delicious they bring out a whole deep-fried chicken that's delicious. It's so light and crispy. Perfect flavor so moist piping hot nice and crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. It needs no seasoning but if you'd like try the salt and pepper with a sesame oil on it it's delicious. Another favor that I had was the army stew that had Ramen hotdogs, Bacon, cabbage, and a hot spicy broth The drinks looked amazing our cm Keisha had a soju with a strawberry popsicle . I was tempted to order it, but my stomach wanted to have enough for him to stuff, my face with the delicious food that they offered. I want to thank the owners for inviting us they're very hospitable very nice when I've been here before the service was excellent as well as the food if you'd like to try some wonderful food come on in and give it a try I guess they have karaoke next-door too. It's open late opens up at 5 PM and if you're hungry late at night this is a place to go. Actually anytime after five if you're hungry coming, check it out.

First time eating at a K pub and I wasn't sure what to expect so I was glad one of our companions was there to guide us along. We arrived before 6pm on a Friday night and the strip mall parking lot was pretty crowded but the inside was only about 1/3 full. We weren't on the wait list but we were seated immediately. Very casual setting inside with Kpop videos playing on a large screen and small round tables and low stools. The server brought out warm bean sprout soup and pointed out the call button. I tried a soju cocktail with melona. There's a honeydew popsicle in your mug of soju and you mix it up. Fun and sweet. We ordered popcorn chicken, sweet soy chicken with peanut, kimchi fried rice, Bossam and rice cakes and sausages. Nothing too adventurous or spicy but all brought out right away and delicious. Very generous portions too. I will order the Korean market style chicken next time -- a whole fried chicken that they break apart into pieces in front of you. This place got crowded and loud within minutes. This was a fun intro to K pub and pocha (pojangmacha - street food). We used the call button to get the check and they brought it straightaway. They have karaoke booths here--another fun option to try at another visit. New Village Gastro Pub was listed on Yelp's Top 100 Restaurants in the US in 2024.

New Village Gastro Pub is always a hit everytime I come here! It's a great restaurant to unwind with friends especially during the weekends. The servers are attentive, friendly and helpful! My go-to order here is rosé tteokbokki. The sauce is very creamy and it pairs well with korean fried chicken.

My girlfriends and I came here on a Friday night and after like 630pm it got really busy. You can make reservations online. We ordered the sea snail muchim, bosam, and army stew. The snail muchim is was perfect combo of savory, sweet, crunchy, chewy, and spicy. Every bite keeps you wanting some more. The pork belly in the bosam were thinly sliced and the ssamjang went so well with it. We ended the meal with the army stew. It was the perfect warm soupy thing to have on a rainy and cold Friday night. The broth was creamy and spicy in all the right amount. We stayed there for a pretty long time just chit chatting, snacking, and drinking. I ended the night earlier, but my girlfriends ended up getting the smaller karaoke room. I'd def wanna come back for it and try other menu items as well!

New Village Gastro Pub is my go to for late night cravings!!! I love the neon lights atmosphere and the staff are friendly and service is fast. I've been here many times for lunch and dinner and food has always been very delicious!

I ordered their Korean style market chicken and beef brisket with mung beans sprout and steamed egg souflwe. Very tasty. Generous portion. Very good value. Look forward to trying other dishes in future.

Be transported to South Korea for dinner. This place has amazing ambience and the servers are very friendly and attentive. Price is super reasonable for the level of quality and the portion. Got the fried chicken, a whole twice fried chicken that is extra crispy on the outside and super tender on the inside. It comes pipping hot to your table whole and the servicer will break it up by hand for you. Didn't get a pre pic because I wasn't paying attention till they started breaking it down. Got the Golbaengi-muchim (Sea Snail And Squid Muchim) to go with the fried chicken. This is a sweet, tangy, and spicy cold dish that comes with noodles, shredded cabbage in sauce, and steamed squid. Just mix and enjoy. It goes perfectly with the fried chicken since the tangy flavor will cut through the greasy taste from the chicken. 10/10 would definitely recommend for a couple or group to enjoy some amazing late night eats! FYI, use the bell on the side of your table for service.

I was totally surprised that the food was pretty good, it's kind of a fusion Korean type of food, not your typical Korean dishes! We had the Sea Snail and Squid Muchim: Blanched sea snail dish, combined with cabbage, watercress, dropwort, scallions, Perilla leaves, and onions. All these fresh ingredients are harmoniously mixed with a sweet and spicy sauce, Served alongside squid and chewy noodles. This was my favorite dish, it was a little spicy but not too bad! Then we also had the Traditional Tteok Bok Ki A classic Korean street food favorite: chewy rice cakes and fish cakes simmered in a spicy and sweet sauce, served with boiled egg, seaweed wraps, and dumplings. This was a little spicy for the kids, so we decided to order a different one that's not spicy at all: Rosé Tteok Bok ki Chewy rice cakes, fishcakes, sausage, bacon, shrimp, and flat noodles, all simmered in a rich and creamy tomato sauce. Served with garlic bread. (The garlic bread was soft and chewy), great for dipping in the yummy sauce. All the dishes had lots of flavor and very tasty! You need to get there by 5 pm if you don't want to wait, otherwise expect a long wait! When we left around 8 pm on a Saturday night, there were people waiting outside!

I always have a good time at New Village. I love the set up, decor, and the ambiance of the restaurant. Here's my go to order every time I dine: Sea Snail and Squid Moochim (오뱅이) $29.99: love the noodle (jjol myun 쫄면) and squid combo. They have the sauce, squid, and noodles separate. You can mix it up to your preference. Raw Oyster Muchim (굴무침) $20.99: there's enough oyster "juice" to make it flavorful and smelly like oysters. If you're a fan of raw oysters, be sure to order it. Not sure how fresh the oysters are; it may be from one of those jarred containers. Korean Market Style Chicken (시장통닭) $19.99: brings me back to my childhood! A deep fried whole chicken and they break it up in front of you. You eat it with salt. Just 100! Other items I've tried but did not like: Rose Tteokbokki $18.99: I'm not a fan of rose tteokbokki so not sure why I ordered it. It was a fail. Stir fried tripe and leather intestines $23.99: meat was very soggy. I would've preferred it drier for better texture. Still one of my favorite Korean bars so it's a go for me! It gets packed at night so be sure to join Yelp waitlist ahead of time!

One of best late night food spots out there in Chicago land. The service is great. The very hospitable, respectful, and friendly. The ambience is also cool.

Wowwww super impressed with this place near rosemont. Came after concert at Allstate arena and it was packed!! One of the only places open past midnight and the food was phenomenal. Shared whole fried chicken, rose tteokboki and truffle fried. Everything was amazing and the tteokboki was the best I've had. Super creamy, perfect level of spice, and rice cake cooked perfectly chewy. The waiter also took apart the whole chicken for us as well. I would definitely come again and try more of their great authentic menu. The army stew sounded so good. Everything is great to share as well.

This place is amazing. Everything we ordered was top tier! The chicken, kimchi fried rice, bulgogi.. literally everything. And the service was fast! Definitely recommend.
