Stopped in for a quick solo lunch and everything was amazing!! I ordered the house salad and the rigatoni vodka pasta. I'm a vodka sauce snob and they blew it out of the park! Service was great and everyone was so nice. Will definitely be back next time I'm in little Italy!

Classic, Italian restaurant. The service is good and the food gets served fairly quickly. Also, they serve you complimentary bread w olive oil. I usually go for their pasta because their pasta is super cheap and tastes soooo good. You can tell that it is freshly made. The ambiance truly feels like you stepped into a restaurant in Italy. Though the seating is a bit close knit. I find it adorable when there are birthdays, they welcome the whole restaurant to sing for the person as well. It gives such family energy in there. They even come put cheese on the pasta for you. :) I would definitely recommend this place to everyone to try.

Don't bother, look elsewhere. Dismissive servers. Pasta is drenched in sauce. Caesar salad is flavorless. Not once did the server come to check in on us or ask us what we wanted to drink besides water. I regret the recommendation from the pasta shop down the street.

We came here for lunch. Lots of lunch spots in little Italy so it was hard to choose. Inside was cute and casual. My husband got the pasta with vodka sauce and I got the pesto. The pasta was freshly made and absolutely delicious! It was piping hot and bursting with flavor. Would highly recommend those dishes. Skip the bread - it's stale. They served it with some type of fake butter spread and we had to request the olive oil and balsamic vinegar. For lunch at $15/dish, this was reasonably priced.

Went to a friend's birthday gathering at a rooftop bar and worked up an appetite. My friend and I were both in the mood for Italian so did some research. I found this place via Yelp. It was a Saturday night and the street was closed off where the restaurant was located and outdoor dining was full. A host reached out to us and got my friend and I a table inside. It was hot outside so this was nice. The place has a rustic Italian vibe to it. Somehow where I was seeded, AC was blowing directly on my arms which felt so nice and kept me cool. Started off with the fried calamari ($16.95) which was solid. For my main, I got the chicken parm with penne Al a vodka which was really good and filling. If I was in the area I would go back but probably wouldn't go out of my way. Came here for lunch and got the chicken parm lunch combo that came with spaghetti. Nothing really impressive, but decent if you're just looking for italian food. Fair for the price. The service was average and the restaurant itself did not stand out to me. Overall, it was okay.

Food was amazing. I haven't had Italian food in a while and the Chicken Parmigiana was amazing! Service was okay they just got the order and allow us to eat. The ambiance was good for most Italian restaurants in little Italy area. The Chicken Parmigiana was very tender and the pasta sauce on top of it made the tomato taste pop out more. I also love their fry calamari as well. They gave the right amount of portion and pasta was amazing! I would recommend the food here. This place is good or a date or just to even have dinner by yourself!

A decent option for cheaper sit down food on Mulberry. Food was fine, but I've definitely had better. Food was served quick and it did the job. Food size was fine, was definitely full after eating it. I know the restaurants in little Italy tend to be aimed at for tourists, and it's a good option if you're here. But if you want a really great and authentic Italian meal I would check somewhere else

Loved this restaurant in little Italy so much that we came here for dinner twice while on vacation! Food was very good and was a great value for the price point. Fun ambiance and we had great service! Wish they were closer to California!! They were very accommodating when I asked for a smaller portion for my 9 year old. Nice wine pours too!!

P of M S was a random pick for lunch today, it has a very nice rustic atmosphere inside. Service was very quick, and very friendly, the four of us shared a hot antipasto which had baked clams, a mussel, two shrimp, a small piece of eggplant rollatini, and three stuffed mushrooms. Everything was just ok, I think it would have been a little better if it came out hot which it did not. We ordered eggplant parm with a side of spaghetti, which could have been better, a mozzarella, and tomato panani, with a side order of spaghetti and pesto sauce, the pesto spaghetts was the best thing we ordered. Veal parm sandwich was standard as well as a serving of Cacio e pepe...

On a hot summer night, it was great sitting in a cool place with nice ambiance. The staff was really attentive and friendly. We ordered their house white wine, and it was so refreshing. All of our pastas were really good. They asked if we wanted Parmesan cheese topped with our pasta, and they were really generous with their serving. Excellent pasta! We also loved the bread and oil combo so much that it didn't make it to our main course. However, they did bring us more bread when we asked. Amazing place! Next time we're in New York, we're definitely coming back!

Came here at 8:30pm for dinner on a weeknight. The restaurant was packed but the friendly host greeted us and assured we'd be seated in a timely manner. We waited around 10-15 min for 3 people. The interior is beautiful and cozy with strung lights. It's a bit tight so be mindful of walking and also of your belongings. The complimentary bread was nothing special but the olive oil was delicious! It was oil with garlic and herbs/spices. The bread seemed to be a regular small baguette and it soaked up the oil well. We got a Caesar salad to start. It was nicely coated in the sauce and cheeses. It was tasty, especially since I haven't had many greens this whole trip. I'm not a huge vodka sauce person but there were so many tables with rigatoni a la vodka that I felt compelled to try it. I was also in the mood for a thick, al dente pasta and this satisfied the craving! It tasted like a cross between a white and a red sauce since it was creamy but also had a tomato flavor. Some places make it a bit bitter, but this wasn't. It's probably the best vodka pasta I've had so far. The spaghetti carbonara was tasty! The meat paired well with the rich, white, saucy noodles, and there was a good amount of meat. If you're in the mood for a white, creamy sauce, I recommend sharing with someone who got a red pasta to balance out the flavors. The spaghetti marinara tasted fresh. We got a side of sausage (comes with 2 for $5) and it came in a pool of marinara sauce. It was a nice protein to the rigatoni and spaghetti dishes. We got a white sangria but our server mistakenly gave us a red one one; we said it's okay and he assured us the red one was better. This sangria was less sweet than most I've had which I liked but it also felt a bit watery. We also got a glass of Montepulciano D'Abruzzo wine which was full-bodied with red fruit flavors. It paired nicely with the food. The service was nice and the overall atmosphere was warming. We collectively sang happy birthday to the table next to us. It was a lovely way to end a full day out in New York.

Such a great experience at Paesano! Very attentive service and they had gluten free pasta so I could enjoy a pasta meal. It was decorated very cute. A fun place to stop to eat in Little Italy!

I booked a meet up for 12 ladies here and I thought because our party was so huge we'd be waiting around as they set up the table, but nope.. everything was ready upon arrival. They were patient with us, though our entire party didn't arrive until 20 mins passed our reservations time. The calamari was very good, I had shrimp parm as an entree and though it could have been a little more flavorful, the excellent customer service made up for it. It got crowded quick, so i recommend reservations. I didn't get any pics of my food.

Great food & great service in Little Italy! We enjoyed a late lunch here, a birthday toast, & charged up on our phones during it HAHA the restaurant wasn't crowded and provided a calming Italian atmosphere away from the hustle & bustle outside - service was impeccable (if you speak Italian, that's a plus!) The food was scrumptious! Would definitely go back again!

I REALLY wanted to LOVE this place. I really did. I'd had it bookmarked in Yelp for some time, and for weeks I kept checking in on their reservation page, up until yesterday, the day of my birthday, but nothing was available in my time window. I resigned to another restaurant in Little Italy, but since I was in the area, decided to walk by Paesano to at least see what's up. I realized they were taking walk-ins, and it was only about a 20 minute wait. So I took the risk and texted my friend "I THINK WE CAN GET IN, GET OVER HERE." Now, we DID get in, though our friend was running late with a slew of problems, so we decided to just get a 2-person table here and meet him for drinks at the next place, because, the table was in our grasp now, and we couldn't just give it up dammit! Now, the "foreman" (as I referred to the host who was in charge of delegating tables) was great. Though the line was out the door, the wait time on a Saturday night was not bad at all, and we considered ourselves lucky to snag a spot (I had never eaten at a Little Italy restaurant before). The restaurant decor was OH so festive and adorable. And even our 2-person table was a great size, not one of those tiny things where you're bumping elbows with the table next to you and your water glass is precariously perched on the edge because the plate takes up too much room. Very spacious tables. I also predicted the food would come out quickly, which it absolutely did. The garlic bread is one of the best I've ever had at any restaurant. It is pleasantly drenched in a garlicky butter, but still crispy, so practically every bite is moist. Also, the complimentary bread and oil they give you; the oil is a DELECTABLE mix of garlic and herb. So this place gets 6 stars off the bread portion alone. Where it goes downhill though....and enough to knock off stars...I got the lobster ravioli, and honestly, it was very basic. I don't know if they used imitation lobster or what, but I'm a seafood girly and you could barely the lobster. In fact, most of the flavor came from the sauce, and not the contents of the ravioli itself. It wasn't bad, but if you're getting lobster ravioli, you're looking to taste lobster, and I didn't get that. And then, the thing I absolutely MUST mention because I didn't see it in any other reviews here and maybe we were just unlucky...roaches. Thankfully not the waterbug-sized, because I would have embarrassed myself in front of the restaurant, but your garden-variety house roach. Crawling down the portrait directly behind my friend. I cautioned her in the calmest way possible to inch away from the wall, while I summoned a waiter to end the creature. Unfortunately, maybe 10-15 minutes later, the table next to us killed one by them. Prices are very reasonable here, service is quick and efficient, and the staff was wonderful, but the lackluster ravioli and the roach sightings definitely put a damper on the experience I was so deeply looking forward to here.

My first time in Little Italy. Selected this restaurant by random, glad I did. The restaurant was nicely decorated. It was very clean. My pizza was very tasty! The servers were polite and professional. The staff were nicely dressed and groomed. Good ambience for a relaxing lunch. I would recommend.

First time in Little Italy! My sister told me about this spot because she paid less than $20 for her meal so we decided to check it out. I tried the chicken Parmesan which had really good flavor - 8.5/10! The chicken was seasoned and had a nice crust. This was actually $24 but it was a delicious meal and the service is pretty quick. You get your meal in less than 10 minutes. The sauce for the Fettuccini Alfredo was also delicious. 8/10 for that pasta as well. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty crowded in the restaurant but we were seated quickly even without a reservation.

Really tasty place with great service! Waiters all wear white button-up shirts with black bow ties. Very much of the "Little Italy" vibe and makes you realize why the place is always crowded! I recommend it just like many others...delicious with good service. Our water glasses never run dry. Impressive! Cost effective! And delicious!

All I can say is: 1. Yum!! and 2. Make a reservation! This place is in the heart of Little Italy and is a smaller restaurant. Even with a reservation, you're guaranteed to have to wait for a table. Saturday night was packed with both indoor and outdoor seating. We were sat in the corner of the restaurant, but lots of servers made sure they were checking on us and ensured we had everything we needed. The Caesar salad is enough for about 2 people. Their chicken parm is to die for. Fresh ingredients, made from scratch, and very generous portions. Definitely come hungry! We will be back

Since 1911, in the heart of Little Italy on a busy block of Mulberry Street, this establishment is the original red sauce Italian restaurant, where some of us were first-timers and my repeat performance in 10 years for dinner yesterday. Reservations were easily made via Yelp. Upon entering Paesano, translated from Italian for fellow countrymen, my partner, visitors from out of town and I were greeted by the host, who immediately transported us to a table in an authentic Sicilian village with rustic wooden beams. The space was extremely tight, with tables very close to each other, so be expected to bump elbows with those around you when seated. The menu offers a long list of your favorite Italian specialties, including a wide variety of seafood, chicken, veal, and assorted pastas. As an appetizer, we decided to share the mozzarella in Carroza. For the main meal, we opted for Lasagna Primavera, Fettuccine Alfredo with Shrimps, Gnocchi Pesto, and Calamari Luciana made fresh daily with sautéed in butter, virgin olive, white wine, shallots, garlic, and parsley. Served over linguine. Complimentary bread with olive oil started our meal. Every dish we tasted was bursting with flavor and served in a big portion. The best Italian meals are simple, with a long tradition of using the finest and freshest ingredients. Prices were very wallet-friendly. The atmosphere was vibrant, and the staff were great, especially our server, Alberto. Everything about Paesano's hits the mark, so we can recommend this place.

A cozy interior filled with string lights, hefty portions of pasta, and good flavor! Service was brisk, starting us off with a big basket of bread and butter. We ordered the gnocchi pesto, chicken parmigiana, and the pasta with calamari. We were offered shredded parmigiano reggiano and tucked into piping hot plates of pasta. The calamari was so so soft and the sauce had plenty of garlic and white wine. The gnocchi was a bit too sweet for my taste but the basil flavor was apparent and the gnocchi itself was absolutely glutinous. The chicken parmigiana was solid as well, but I wish the chicken filet were a little thicker--the batter-to-meat ratio for each bite was off in my opinion.

A lively and lovely spot for pasta in Little Italy! We decided to eat here due to the reviews on Yelp plus the prices were a bit more friendly to our student budgets. The interior was cute- enjoyed the string lights and plants that hung above us and the restaurant gave a very rustic feel. Onto the food, I settled on the rigatoni vodka dish. The flavor of the sauce was amazing and creamy, with the perfect al dente pasta. Our waiter also said it was one of the more popular pasta dishes. They had unlimited bread with a delicious olive oil and herb dip to go with it. All of my friends enjoyed their respective pasta dishes as well, so you probably can't go wrong with anything you order here!

Excellent experience! We came in the middle of the afternoon so it wasn't crowded at all, and one of the things I most loved about Paesano is that we didn't feel pressured at all like some of the many places we walked by -- we were bombarded by someone pressuring us to eat before we even got to Mulberry Street. We went in late November so the restaurant was decked out in Christmas lights that set a really beautiful ambiance. Service was excellent throughout the meal, and the food was absolutely top notch and came out very quickly. My wife and I both got the Rigatoni al a Vodka (seems like everyone on Yelp photos did too!) and man oh man were we happy with our choice. All in all an excellent experience, I absolutely plan on returning if I ever find myself in the area again.

The ambiance is wonderful and feels like we were in Italy. The bread and olive oil were a delicious starter. I would probably pass on the Caesar salad as even after adding pepper, it still felt like it was missing some element that was undefined. Also, the croutons didn't feel like they were made in house. What was lacking with the salad, was made up for in the pasta and entrees. We ordered the Veal Anthony, the rigatoni vodka and our daughters shared the pasta carbonara. My oldest daughter declared the carbonara the best pasta she has had in her life. She called it chef's kiss and had a good food moment. I had the rigatoni vodka with shrimp and everyone couldn't get enough of it. The veal dish was delicious too. We will be back!

Went here for dinner and I was a bit underwhelmed. We ordered the chicken parm and gnocchi bolognese. The chicken parm was pretty good but the gnocchi bolognese was not great. Lacked a lot of flavor. The actual restaurant seemed incredibly outdated and didn't feel super clean to me. The servers were very nice and you also get free bread service. Definitely not a horrible experience, I think it could be a fun place to try for some people. I personally wouldn't go back.

The food was absolutely amazing. True Italian style cooking. Very fresh and flavorful. A must try. The setting is a cute Italian style restaurant with lights indoors. Good service. Wonderful food. Try it if you're ever in Little Italy.

During the NYC heat wave & craving pizza, Paesano's had a good looking lunch special. We got seated right under two fans and immediately said this place earns a 5 star yelp review just based on the HVAC system. My bf and I devoured the calamari. It was a great portion and not chewy at all. The pizza was simple, thin crust, and had the best cheese pulls. The rigatoni a la vodka was a bit too saucy for my preference but delicious. This was probably one of our most affordable meals in nyc at about $55-60 after tax and top

Our favorite. The staff are always impeccable, house wine is delicious, great pasta dishes and ambience and the price is right. We stop here multiple times every visit to NYC and are never disappointed. Highly recommend. Don't forget the Limoncello for dessert. YUM!!

The food was excellent! My husband ordered fried calamari, which was delicious. They gave complimentary bread and olive oil; the bread was fresh, and the olive oil was well seasoned. The service was good, and my server was polite and very attentive. We sat outside, and it was beautiful. My husband and I ordered shrimp scampi. It was delicious, with lots of butter and garlic, and it was very flavorful. Their sangria was delicious. It wasn't too sweet, and it was just right.

I can't believe I fell for this tourist trap in Little Italy! They have a tout out front who is obnoxious. However, I was with my niece who wanted chicken fettuccine Alfredo, and the recommended spots in the neighborhood aren't traditional Italian. The interior is pretty and the food was passable, but I can't recommend this place. It was just us and the other suckers from out of town trying to find the authentic Little Italy, which mostly doesn't exist anymore.

Meatballs, vodka pasta and tiramisu are really good. Got lured by the baked ziti pasta's online posts, but regretted it later on. It's super heavy and too cheesy for my taste. I was expecting cheese on top but it was instead filled with an endless sea of cheese - so if that's your thing, go for it! Their tiramisu was one of the best one's I have had in the city!

We've been here every time we are in New York. The food is great, as is the service. The sauteed calamari in red sauce is delish! But what draws me in is the romantic atmosphere. Love it!

A cozy, charming restaurant tucked into the heart of little Italy -- my friend and I stopped by for takeout, but the ambiance of the restaurant and delicious fully has me convinced to come back to dine in-person! The staff are really nice and efficient when it comes to managing orders. The food was FIRE -- highly recommend the Gnocchi Pesto and Vodka Rigatoni, and I'm sure the Cheesy Garlic Bread would've tasted better fresh in the restaurant. I'll be back soon!

This is a very average Italian spot. There's lots of seating, the decor feels very homey, not too expensive, but the food is just ok. We made a reservation as a party of 7 and were seated right away. It wasn't too busy for a Monday night and it's easy to get a res so I recommend making a reservation just in case. I got the pasta combo with salad dinner special ($22.95) which isn't on the menu but can be seen on a sign outside the front door. It comes with a house salad and a trio of rigatoni alla vodka, fettuccini alfredo, and tortellini bolognese. I honestly loved the idea of the combo since you get to try different pastas in one plate and I felt the pricing was very fair. However, they were all just fine. The fettuccini alfredo gave me a commercial pasta sauce taste and the bolognese was very bland. I also felt the tortollini could have been cooked a little less as it felt over just a tad. The rigatoni was probably my favorite but even then it wasn't spicy at all and lacked flavor. Overall, the food wasn't great but it was still a great time and the servers were very attentive. Paesano gives you free bread and garlic oil and that was my favorite part. It's so good and they're very good about giving refills. I wouldn't steer clear of this place but definitely don't expect a high quality "homemade pasta" experience.

This is my second review of this lovely restaurant in the heart of Little Italy. We came for lunch on Friday. We chose outdoor seating. Although it rained it was covered and so the rain was not an issue for us.. There are several choices for wine, beer, and cocktails. We ordered some regular garlic bread, which was good. Although the bread they provide for free was also soft and tasty. Our table ordered the Caesar salad, veal parm, and the vodka rigatoni. My friend who had the Caesar salad with chicken said it was bland, although not bad. It The rest of us had a pasta, which was delicious. There were several dessert options. I have a cannoli which was decent but not spectacular. Overall food is delicious, reasonably priced, and generous portions. We shared a bottle of wine that was $30. Most importantly, the service was outstanding. The servers were all very attentive. We spoke to someone who may be with the owner, Walter. Very lovely gentleman and was very accommodating I highly recommend this place if you are in Little Italy. We definitely plan to return during our next visit to the area.

Food: 4/5 Service: 3/5 Ambiance: 4/5 I got a reservation here for a Monday dinner at 7 PM and I was surprised to see the restaurant was very busy for a weekday night dinner. They have a lot of seating inside and outside but I would recommend getting a reservation my first that's where that the servers were very rushed and a bit curt. I wouldn't say the service was negative but "just alright". There are no explanations on the menu for the Italian chcije dishes and the server seemed turned off by the questions we were asking about them. Food wise, I would say to stick to the pastas! - spaghetti carbonara (5/5) - lobster ravioli (4/5) - chicken Marsala (5/5) - chicken focciatore (3/5) Prices are very reasonable by New York standards and indoor/outdoor ambiance is nice. If you can get a seat outdoors the street is better to sit at in good weather.

Have been meaning to check out this place and I'm glad I did. I happened to be in the neighborhood and I was worried I wouldn't be able to get a table. Arrived around 6pm and by some miracle there was only 1 two top table left for a walk in. Definitely make a reservation if you go!! Calamari was delicious, house win was only $9, and the pasta was so good. I mentioned to the waiter how I was splitting my pasta with a friend and they were nice enough to put it into 2 plates which was very sweet of them. They still had the Christmas decorations up and it really made the place look super cozy.

I wanted to try and new place in Little Italy and found this little gem, Paesano. The Chicken Francaise was incredible.

Boy, not even sure where to start. Stopped by late the other evening craving comfort food and we sure got it. The pasta was INCREDIBLE. Honestly the best I have ever had. Wine was delicious. Server did well recommending things we would like. View was very cute. Well kept on the inside and felt very cozy. The bread was so delicious. Honestly not a single complaint or criticism of our visit. We absolutely loved it and will return.

The ambiance in this place was great and the food as well. The staff was very nice and accommodating. You cannot go wrong with any of the dishes.

This place is a classic. And though you may be wondering if in little Italy and an Italian restaurant if a fake gimmick but it was simply good food with friendly service. I like the rustic feel inside and many years of history on the wall in photos. The family had fun there and there was lots of activity abounding. Food was rather inexpensive and the menu expansive. Definitely give it a shot. Keep in mind those portion size are huge!

A nice, intimate restaurant in Little Italy. We had one of the lower end wines that was actually really tasty. My boyfriend's chicken Parmesan was very good as well. He was able to substitute a different type of pasta. I had the lasagna, which was traditional, but I tend to like lasagna that is more layered. It was mostly cheese but the red sauce was to die for. Calamari was my favorite. It was light and crispy a d perfectly seasoned.

Smacked in the middle of little Italy we found this hidden gem. Just in time for our Anniversary dinner at a intimate restaurant was perfect. Very rustic and dimly lit. I felt like I stepped into a time capsule. Staff was good,They were so helpful and polite . We had a few glasses of red wine to start and end dinner. I had the fusilli and bae had the rigatoni in vodka sauce with grilled chicken. Both were good but I really enjoyed the rigatoni vodka . I didn't try for dessert I wanted to Rome the city and explore but I definitely will be visiting again.

This place was so packed and busy when we went and they still got us a seat so quickly and were so kind. The food came very quickly and it was delicious! The inside is beautiful.

Little Italy in NY is a must do experience. The decor along the streets, the energy and the lines of amazing restaurants are a sight to see! We chose Paesano's based pon reviews of yelp, and it did not disappoint. My daughter, my sister, and I had a tough time deciding what to have as they had what looked like all amazing options. IN the end my daughter got her favorite, rigatoni vodka sauce, I ordered the spaghetti carbonara, and My sister the Chicken Romana. The Rigatoni with vodka was great! The pasta was cooked al dente- just the way we love it (and think Pasta should be!). and the sauce was delicious and flavorful. The Spaghetti Carbonara was also cooked perfectly and had a generous amount of pork throughout the dish. They were not shy! The chicken romano was something different for us, was a lightly fried chicken with mozzarella and a light white wine sauce, alongside some linguini. Topped dinner off with a glass of their cabernet. So good! Our waiter was helpful and attentive. There were multiple waitstaff that assisted us and were always timely. Recommend this place if in town!
