New York Prime had been our favorite steak house for literally decades - beginning with the Boca Raton location, years of patronage and tens of thousands of dollars spent. Things have changed - not for the better, at the Buckhead location. The minute you walk in it is obvious the place is mismanaged beyond words. No doubt the Fire Marshal would have shut this restaurant down due to overcrowding. Christmas Eve 2025 8PM reservations, with a specific request for a table location. Arrived 10 minutes early for an 8pm, finally seated at 8:45pm. Seated in the bar, not the dining room as requested. Crowded is an understatement, loud and obnoxious is accurate. The days of standards music playing in the background has been replaced with an 80's-90's playlist of pop songs. The atmosphere has gone from an elegant fine steak house dining experience to a noisy, crowded barroom experience. I do not believe Bobby Donlan is still part of this restaurant anymore - he was a consummate operator. Mind you this is a restaurant that the average ticket is $150-$200 per person. This WAS our #1 steak house experience in Atlanta, not even a contender anymore. Marcel, Arnette's, to name a couple that are head and shoulders above New York Prime. Your hard-earned money is better spent elsewhere. Eventually all good things end. BTW, this was ordered WELL DONE, and this shows how poorly run the restaurant is, imagine having to send this back after waiting over an hour to get the food, as it was not cooked.
