Yo. The bread is top tier. Prob better than the average bodega bread in the city. All the stuff they put on this chopped cheese is voodoo cuz I’m hooked. Soo good. I got the spicy one w yerrrr sauce and the level of spice was so right. Love me some banana peppers. Thanks NYCC!

* I think I met the owner* So I scroll into this place fresh out of the gym and I have no clue what it is. I just saw that bright Neon sign and figured I’d give it a try. First thing first the staff here are amazingly friendly. They will explain anything on the menu and even let you mix and match your sandwich. The tater tots are phenomenal, although I’m a tots fan so I could be being biased. I can see why this place is such a hit. I might need to pay them a breakfast visit. If the sandwich is that good I know breakfast is amazing. P.S. They sale breakfast all day.

There is only street parking on the residence streets. I had the chopped chicken on a roll and it was SUPER filling. I was full only halfway in. The taste is similar to chili. I had a bite of the Classic chopped cheese and its pretty much a philly cheese steak but chopped. Both super delicious

I love this place! I’m from the north east and have not been able to find a proper steak sub…until now. Thank you chopped cheese! I’m going to gain back all the weight I just lost.

Let me start off with the workers. They were a whole vibe, very chill down to earth people. So this is the first time I’ve ever tried a chop cheese and let me tell you. I got the Classic New York style and it was so damn delicious. Like if I ever get a chop cheese anywhere else, THIS one here is the one that set the bar. I will probably be chasing the feeling of my first bite, the second it all goes onto my taste buds, it was heaven. It was so damn tasty, sweet, and savory. I just can’t explain it. The pricing is great. I paid $13 for a small chop cheese and a canned drink. The chop cheese on its own will fill you up, they do also have a side of fries or tater tot’s? Not sure didn’t get those. I probably could eat a whole large one on my own or a small and a half. Y’all definitely gotta try this spot. (For those who have never had a chop cheese, the best I can describe it is, it’s like a sloppy Joe without the sloppy.)

The place seems very hidden and seems there may not be many people who may not come to this location. But that fine because the food is awesome so there is more for me. Their new york sandwich is amazing. Don't come here so that I can come here instead!

The atmosphere was super nostalgic and the staff are incredibly friendly. Definitely a Hollywood staple with some east coast vibes. 10/10 recommend. Best tater tots ever.

I ate here late on a Friday night, and the food was incredible! I got the Banger with tater tots, and everything was delicious. The tots are seasoned and come with a green chile sauce and ketchup. The sandwich was hot, cheesy, and so flavorful. I loved the crispy shallots! There are only 4 seats inside, so there might not be seating if you go at a busy time. The employees were all friendly and the overall atmosphere was bright and fun. This place is a gem!

I have been wanting to try a chopped cheese since forever. I was driving along minding my business when I noticed, not only was there a new spot, but it was open after 11 pm. . I hadn't noticed it before. I walked in and asked how long they've been here. She said they opened in May. They are located on the northwest corner of Venice and Redondo in the plaza where Pizza Hut is. Small, cute, has seating and bathrooms and is very clean. I love that they are open late and online and delivery options are available. I was greeted right away and my order cooked right away and was ready in less than 15 minutes. Loved the music playing, it definitely gave NY vibes. Best of all, the NY Chopped Cheese was everything it's described to be. The bread was grilled yet soft, I usually do not like ketchup, but I wanted to taste the sandwich as it is traditionally made so I didn't make any special requests. Surprisingly everything fused together in a delicious symphony. I loved it and can tell it will be a new craving of mine.! I can't wait to go back and bring some friends as well. I ordered the 6 inch which was more than enough. I ate half and was full!. The next day I ate the other half for brunch and still had to exercise self control that evening to keep from returning and ordering another. Chef's kiss!

Not sure I get the hype. The classic was a bit boring for me but the banger was better. The fries were not crispy. Service was nice though and I enjoyed the music while I waited for the food. Street parking only and very limited seating - more of a takeout spot.

Street Parking only. Staff is helpful and quickly prepares your order. Food comes out within 10 minutes of ordering and is piping hot. They have seating where you can quickly enjoy your sandwich. Classic New Yorker- 8/10 Not overly cheesy and is seasoned well. Needs more lettuce, tomatoes, and mayo as their flavor was not present.

Pretty tasty but I think I prefer Bodega Park's chopped cheese. It's definitely seasoned well, decent ratio of bread to meat, and the bread was soft. We just picked up, but street parking is definitely tough here. Can't say much about the service or ambience but it seems most people just do take out!

Wow. This is one of those places you have a real craving for! My husband brought me here for the first time on a Friday afternoon. Inside is a small diner vibe with limited seating. We had one person in front of us so we ordered less than 5 mins upon entering, we ordered the banger. We received our food in less than 10 mins, we could smell the food being cooked, smelled amazing! Once we received the sandwich, by the looks of it, it's big enough to share but after I finished my half I was wanting more. The bread was perfect and soft but also a good foundation because it wasn't falling apart. Everything inside this sandwich balanced each other out to perfection! This isn't something you can compare anything else to around the area, definitely one of a kind. I will be recommending this to my friends and family and will definitely be coming again!

YERRRRRRRR! I had a brief obsession with chopped cheeses back in 2017-2018 up until I went to New York and finally tried one. I was NOT disappointed every burrow I went to I tried a chopped cheese even tried a very gentrified version which wasn't all that. So once I heard of this place I knew I had to try it. Walking in the stores aesthetic and theme is very on brand, they have candy, chips and other snacks that you'd find in a bodega. The window seal is draped with home supplies and cereal. I love a restaurant/storefront that goes all in on the theme. The service was immaculate the folks working the register were attentive and excited to answer any questions I had. I ordered The Banger, which is their classic chopped cheese with Banana Peppers, Crispy Shallots and their signature YERRR SAUCE, which is a spicy pickled garlic aioli. GASSSSSSSS I tell you. I ordered the meal and opted for tater tots which might've been the best decision I made aside from the getting the Banger. The tater tots were fried perfectly, crispy golden on the outside and soft on the inside and SEASONED by GOD himself. Wow! The Banger sandwich was everything I expected it to be, it tasted exactly like the first chopped cheese I every had in Brooklyn but a more mature, the crispy shallots and banana peppers make for an elegant experience! YOU HEARD! 10/10

A chopped cheese sandwich is a close cousin to the more commonly known cheesesteak. The main difference is the type of beef used for the sandwich. I noticed New York's Chopped Cheese during a visit into Hollywood and was determined to go try it out as soon as I could. I love a great, hot sandwich and this chopped cheese was fantastic. The meat was grilled and seasoned well. The cheese and veggies were fresh and added flavors and texture to the sandwich. The condiments popped an extra layer to everything. The bread was fantastic, fresh and chewy just the way a sandwich like this needs. They have a combo meal that includes a side and a drink which I always appreciate seeing. I chose the seasoned fries. They were crispy, salty and very tasty. Everything was excellent. The owner was there in person taking orders. He was a very friendly guyI enjoyed chatting with him about the neighborhood and the changes he was seeing develop around him. He had the inside scoop on what happened to Arby's next door. The restaurant is bright and colorful, leaning into a yellow theme that inspires cheesy goodness. They had some fun decor in their store windows, including some iconic grocery staples that you rarely see. There was a selection of merch. There is no parking for their shop and there is an unfortunate valet stand literally right next to them. I parked in the defunct Arby's lot but that won't be an option for much longer. If you can find street parking, I encourage you to stop by and give New York's Chopped Cheese a visit! Their chopped cheese is very satisfying and tasty.

Came here with a couple friends after finishing an exam. When we first all walked in, we were happily greeted with the staff there. Since it was my first time there, I didn't really know what to get and the person at the cashier explained what his recommendations are and also what chips to put inside! I ended up ordering the classic New Yorks with Funyuns inside! On the side I ordered the tater tots. One thing I've got to say that this place gives you a generous portion of tater tots. It was delicious and crispy on the outside and soft in the inside! Additionally, the sandwich was a flavor bomb! It had so many components in the sandwich that complimented it well. Loved the texture from the chip to add that extra crunch to the sandwich. The staff were very friendly and had conversations between me and my friends and made the experience great! Definitely will be come back soon!

Ordered on DoorDash and picked up. I really enjoyed the chopped cheese. Mozzarella sticks were regular but not bad. I'd definitely return. Parking is a little bit difficult but the service was good and my food was ready on time. The shop is small but has some seating. My only complaint is the cost of the sauces. Charging $2.40 for sauces and $1.20 for ketchup is insane.

absolute fire Like most foodies or people with instagram and YouTube I've heard of the infamous chopped cheese that's so popular in New York. So when I found this place on Yelp ANND it was only a 14 minute drive away. I had to make the trip. We pulled up Friday night around midnight on the corner of Sunset and... I forget, but I immediately got a New York vibe as people were double parked on both the left and right side on the narrow street. This place was poppin! It's a small shop with minimal seating (pro tip! call in or order online and pick it up cause there will likely be a wait). But the dude that took our order was chill and guided me through my first chopped cheese experience without being annoyed even though they were busy. The only draw back was the wait the guy before us said he'd been waiting for over 30 minutes but pretty sure that was because of two pretty large pick up orders that wi saw when I arrived. We got there at a good time and only waited about 20 honestly not too bad. I got the picante on a roll the big size which is 17$ plus tax- and fries the sandwich it's a decent size but not filling for me but the FLAVOR is there with the perfect amount of spice. Highly recommend and next time in Hollywood I'm defining spinning back... depending on traffic

I'm sure you have come across the chopped cheese sandwich from New York on social media. You don't have to go to the east coast to try it, the New York Chopped Cheese has landed here in Los Angeles. Small little spot off of Sunset, parking not that great so good luck. Suggest calling your order in for pick up. You can dine in, there a few counter seats inside the place. Service was great for us. The chopped cheese comes with fries or tots and a drink. The sandwich is a burger chopped up and stuffed into a roll. It was good, believe it or not. Tried the fries and tots. Can't go wrong with either. Both are crispy and well seasoned. Great combo of the chopped cheese and tots in my opinion. If you want something different check this place out if you're in the area.

Prices are a little bit inflated compared to NYC bodegas but that's to be expected because this ain't NY and it's not a bodega. If you're a transplant from the east coast or someone who spent a lot of time on the east coast it's definitely going to fulfill your chopped cheese fix. Yerr sauce is mando. For myself I'm going classic NY on a hero roll all day. Service is straight good vibes and I love the decor. Parking is a little tricky. You're probably not supposed to but I parked at Arby's since we were in and out with the pick up order. Right off the Sunset strip in the middle of Hollywood. Not hard to find at all.

Didn't get a photo of my chopped cheese, but this place is a good after the bar spot. It set up like a real New York bodega. The chopped cheese sandwiches are reasonably priced and they were very good. I received my food in decent timing and the service was great. Definitely recommend.

Got the NY chopped cheese. Honestly, if you're craving a chopped cheese I'd recommend going elsewhere. If it's late at night and there's absolutely nothing else to eat and you're hankering for a bite then this would be slightly over the margin passable. Ordered for pick up and quoted about 15 minutes for pickup. We got there on time and sandwiches were already luke warm very much bordering cold. It didn't really have a traditional NY chopped cheese flavor profile and tasted more like a Tommy's chili cheese burger...but if I wanted that I'd just go to Tommy's? On top of this the sandwich was drenched in oil. Will stick to Bodega Park for chopped cheeses and Tommy's for chili cheeseburgers.

I swung by after work one day and I was feeling like indulging rather than hitting the gym (don't worry, I went next day at 6a lol) Street parking wasn't too bad, but I know it def gets worse on the weekends and what not! Upon entering, I was greeted with an abundant amount of warm energy! Anthony, the owner was there to greet and advise! Everyone was chill and down-to-earth, to the point where it almost made me feel like we were homies and I should hop in the back to make my own chopped cheese lol. Anywhoooo - I already had the picante in mind, but was open to other options as I continue to scan the menu. Ultimately, I went with my gut and it worked out. My order: I hate mayo and got it removed + added in the YERRR (how many R's is appropriate?) sauce! It was def a NY staple that allowed LA folks to experience a chopped cheese if they've never had one. Also helps that they offer options like Impossible 'meat' and mushroom! I think this will be placed in rotation for a lot of folks - esp those that work nearby. For my own personal taste, I'll need to add extra grilled onions and cherry peppers next time (yes, even in the picante!) All in all, great food and even greater vibes from Anthony and the team! P.S. - I also loved the bodega 'look' to fully capture the NY vibe to transport you out of LA for 10 mins lol. P.S.S. - chopped cheese is not a burger or cheesesteak - you've been warned!!!

Was finally in the area and had this place on my list of places to try. I ordered the hoagie combo. With no ketchup. First of all it was expensive. $24 for a sandwich, fries and a canned soda. I was hoping it would be worth it... It wasn't I made sure to tell the cashier no ketchup When they threw the ground beef on the grill I said "yeah no ketchup" for a second time What happened?! The cashier was assembling my sandwich and squirted a bunch of ketchup on the bread. SMH good thing I was watching and said something. Because you can tell, they definitely weren't paying attention I will say. That they were nice enough to go in the back and find a raw onion to put on my sandwich. I prefer raw over grilled But the fries were ok. They were seasoned well. As for the chopped cheese itself it was very ehhh. I think the American cheese they use has a funny taste to it. Definitely not a fan The weird cheese made the sandwich not enjoyable and the cost wasn't justified. One and done for me

Wow wow wow !!! I have never had a chop cheese and yet I have been to New York a few times. Honestly hands down one of the best sandwiches/ burger/sub I have ever had !! So fresh and delicious! It's like in-n-out's naughty cousin! I had the classic which was perfection ! I came down from chino hills to try this spot and it was worth every min in traffic

So here's the funny thing: I've avoided coming to Chopped Cheese because I missed the deli that used to occupy the space and am pretty loyal to Boo's Philadelphia Cheese Steaks just a few miles away. But I was at home hankering for a sandwich, something different than my Subway, Jersey Mike's, or Boo's and it came to mind as it's close by... I get the larger hero sized Chopped Chicken w everything it comes with, pay what amounts to $20+ w tax and a 20% tip, sit down and wait while the strong worker with the kind face and smile "Esperanza" gets to it. About five minutes later, I get what you see in the photos: a hunky chopped chicken looking thing resembling a Philly cheese steak-- but not. The owner portends to hail from New York and these? They are "New York Cheese Steak Sandwiches." Okay, let 'er rip... Separating the halves, it steams up and just looks right. Looks great. It's perfectly assembled and I'm getting a waft of Mexican spices oddly... when I ask what that all is, Esperanza explains its adobo and other seasonings. "Cool," I think to myself... I embark on eating it and it's a wholesome meal in a nicely soft loaf, the textures all work together and - yes - it is wholly different from my beloved Boo's Philly sandos. It's certainly very tasty. Satisfying. I'm a fan. I particularly like the harmony here of the seasoned meat and the also well chopped lettuce, how you have to chew through the spongey bread to get into the ooey-gooey goodness of the meat, etc. I leave, get in my car and I debate internally as to whether to give the place four or five stars when I open up Yelp and see someone just posted a negative one star review here 2 hours ago!! What the f#ck?! That girl kvetches her smaller sandwich - the cheaper one on the bun - was not enough food for her and proceeds to slam this nice place. It makes me mad, so I decided to clean my pictures immediately and post them up with a review right away to counteract her vindictive review: The Chopped Cheese is no one star place. The quality is there. The attention to detail was exhibited. The service - Esperanza the trooper! - was perfect. And the sandwich I inhaled? Excellent. So there you have it. I might have leaned towards a four star review had I not seen the one by Miss Uppity-Ass "Ariana C" and maybe I would have griped that I do think it's a tad pricey, or that I was stunned I could not get a cup of iced tap water to go with my meal, but I'm not petty and a jerk like that last reviewer. Overall, I liked the experience, enjoyed the unique product this gentleman from the great NYC is making and proudly putting forth, and I will return...

This place is SOOOOOOO good!! I have been watching their IG stories for so long - and now that I finally came here, I really don't know what took me so long! Their chopped cheese is AMAZING! My mouth was watering while I was eating the sandwich! The sandwich itself was BIG. And it had the perfect ratio of meet to cheese to bread. I couldn't stop doing a happy dance while eating my chopped cheese. Definitely get yourself some! Oh - And the staff - they're really nice people! 5 stars to service, ambience, and food! Will definitely be coming back often.

If you order on Uber eats they don't read the modifications. Left onions on my order when I removed them. Left mayo on my girlfriend's sandwich when she removed it. Takes less than 10 seconds to process no onions or no mayo. Absolutely lazy or they can't read. Maybe both

As a New Jersey native with plenty of family in New York I had high hopes for this place but alas it's just another LA tourist trap preying on New York culture. I ordered a chop cheese on a roll, side of chips and a Arizona ice tea from this place (via postmates) and the total came out to about $18. You can imagine my shock when the food arrived and the sandwich was about the size of my hand (extremely tiny). To call it a sandwich for anyone looking to fill themselves up would be laughable. Can't justify the sandwich costing $10 - drop that price point because it's basically stealing.

Oh my goodness!! A whole new way of yummy-ness in mouth! If you are craving a juicy and I mean juicy chopped meat sandwich or wrap this is the place!! I brought my friends here and they loved it! It's definitely for a cheat day especially the fully loaded tater tots!! Come and support small business and I promise you will walk out satisfied :)

The best thing about this place, besides the food, is the hours! They are open so early and close at 1am! Hollywood options that aren't Dennys! Walking distance to a sandwich shop, my favorite kind of meal. I've been 3 times since they opened a few months ago and the original chopped cheese with added peppers and spicy sauce is amazing! I've craved the more but I'm trying to resist going often and ruining it! My 3rd time had been for a breakfast sandwich and it was also A+. They are about to start offering Spanish coffee with condensed milk and I'm very much looking forward to it. The service is fast and everyone has always been very friendly. After searching for new food to find in LA I came upon this location. Wasn't hard to find but parking is horrible on the street. Ordered the "banger" and chopped "chicken" When first arrived was greeted by the owner, didn't seem like he wanted to be taking orders. Even tried small talk with him but he rudely was like NAH...After about 15 mins order was finally being prepared. Chef low-key burned the bread on high fire but okay....everything fresh. As far as taste....the chopped chicken lacks all types of flavor. No seasonings, no special sauce, like nothing. Highly disappointed especially after reading the reviews. The banger was absolutely great! Wish the chopped chicken tasted like this. Will I come back....maybe...also paid $45 for two sandwiches one fry and two can sodas....

Man, my whole life, I've heard about this Mythical Mystical, one bite and you're spiritual New York CHOP CHEESE!!!!!! But I've never had one. I gave up actually, like I don't plan on ever going to NY, but then I see this place on YouTube and I was like NOOOO WAAAYYYY!!!! I'm at that ASAP! So I get there at 9:30pm and the vibes are on point and I'm just amazed and went with the Banger and some totz. They service was cool and they were cooking with magical scrappers getting all that DIDDY scrambling and scrapings on there then I got that puppy! ONE BITE AND I WAS IN LOVE!!! JUST the chopped cheese that LA needs! This sandwich was so juicy and flavorful. You'll def have to try it with the yerrr sauce too! All the flavors blend together so perfectly. The staff is SO KIND too! They are willing to deliver the best chopped cheese experience you can get.

My girl Denise who's from New York, and super selective put me onto this spot. It's giving boutique hole in the wall in all the best ways. I was initially low key skeptical because she's one of those people that eats about five things. Hands down, she, and New York's Chopped Cheese did not disappoint. I went with the smaller sandwich option offered just in case it didn't hit. I immediately regretted my decision, but I made it work. The price points are solid. The flavors come together complimentary. I appreciate being able to pull up, and out with ease. (That's a perk, and a plus when living in L.A. where even a visit to the grocery store can be a production.) Being able to eat inside, or out at one of their high chairs inside facing out into Hollywood or at one of the benches posted out up front is a nice touch. The color coordination, and deco is fun. I do wish there was slightly more meat in the sammie. I felt like the ratio was slightly off, and I specifically asked for extra mayo, however it seemed more like they held out on adding as much as the allotted amount. Especially (for me) because there was more bread than meat, it was a little dry. I would have eaten it as is after realizing they hadn't run me my mayo, but imo, it needed it. I was slightly off put by the fact they they weren't busy, but got this minor detail wrong. When I say not busy, I mean the person that took my order was chillin outside in the front at the benches where I was while I ate. That sorta stuck with me. I haven't been back, but I do plan on sliding thru to try that NY special, the BEC and their classic once I get over myself.

First time ever getting a chopped cheese. Obviously in LA, but since the owner is from NYC, this feels authentic enough. My wife and I got 1 classic and 1 chicken chopped cheese with a side of YERRRR sauce. The classic was our favorite - tastes like an incredibly delicious cheese burger on a hoagie or hero roll. The chicken chopped cheese was alright, but when you add some ketchup and YERRRR sauce - man, that's a game-changer! We'll definitely order again. Enjoy!

Super excited to try this .... It was a tad dry and the bun were dry and a bit stale tasting ... our order was wrong even after going through it twice . We did walk out of there with extra tater tots ( not on purpose ) but one of the sandwiches was the wrong way . It wasn't busy ... ummm fatty mart chop cheese is better .

Came here on Thursday night and the two ladies there were incredibly kind! It was my first time having a chopped cheese sandwich and they ran me through a quick introduction of what it was. I went with the classic upon their recommendation and it was very tasty, definitely lived up to the hype. Absolutely worth every cent, it was filled with ingredients and was surprised at how heavy it weighed lol. Will definitely be back here, the service alone and kindness from staff was amazing.

This place is The Truth! Been to NY, had a chopped cheese and a BEC. New York Chopped Cheese in Hollywood is the next best thing for the West Coast Fam! We tried the BEC, the 'Classic NY' style chopped cheese and the loaded fries (chopped meat and cheese on top) super authentic feel, vibe, and flavor! Also, customer service was 10/10. Shoutout to Eric for the hospitality! go here!

We love the vibes! Came here late on a Thursday looking for some tasty food to go. The music was fun and the service was good. Placed my order at the counter for a classic on a roll. The sandwich held up well on the drive home and tasted great! Will drop by if I'm in the area again.

Oh, my goodness. That banger chopped Cheese was so good. This place has entered into my weekly lunch rotation. I love the proliferation of East Coast sandwich spots like Ggiata, etc.... I love burgers and Mendocino farms, but sometimes, I need some of that East Coast love.
