"The signature dish of this conspicuous restaurant, located in a brightly coloured yellow and green house, is the fried crab and rice porridge hot pot. Served in small bowls at the table, the crab, pigeon, beef balls and vegetables combine in a naturally sweet medley of flavours. The staff have only a smattering of English, but English menus are available with an enticing range of authentic Vietnamese dishes. Book in advance to make sure of a seat." - Michelin Inspector

2 Days in Hanoi

"A brightly coloured yellow and green house and a 2023 Bib Gourmand recipient. Known for its signature dish: fried crab and rice porridge hotpot." - Pruepat 'Maprang' Songtieng

"Hanoian Flavours, Hanoian Charm For an authentic taste of Hanoi , the best places to go are usually humble street stalls or even bia hois. This little venue in Ba Dinh District, however, is a real hit with locals who want to go upscale in their surroundings without compromising on the provenance of the food. Sample local and regional dishes such as crab hot pot and grilled dragon fish in a scuffed but convivial setting."

Fried chicken hard as stone. If it was veal or rubber I don’t know. Hard to feel the difference. Good sweet potato. Eatable mango salad. Excellent pre packaged peanuts. I hope the Michelin don recommend this place again when cooking is this inconsistent. They better send the chef for a cooking session. The good thing is that the food can just get better!

1. The food is so delicious and tasty, not too spicy or salty or sour. Everything is just enough and nice to me 2. The services are professional. The manager is nice, supportive and so handsome as well. No need to wait too long for the food. A big big plus ++++ 3. Use Vietnamese songs, old songs I guess. Sounds peaceful 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

Food was delicious! But service was average, considering this is a Michelin listed restaurant? It was super quiet with only one waiter serving us, felt service could be improved. Food portion was quite big.

Absolute disgusting. Don’t know who they paid to get Michelin Recomended. Not going to eat raw pork fat in a spring roll that you have to roll yourself. The only appealing thing on the menu was pork ribs which they didn’t have. The pineapple juice was syrup. So disappointing to say the least. Please don’t try this place !! Unfriendly and rude too.

I really enjoyed my meal here of which I was actually looking for a cafe but this alleyway caught my eye and the design and beautiful yellow of the building plus colorful pinwheels were spellbinding. The Michelin star sign was a plus so I walked in and was initially seated in a corner seat at the back of the room but I asked to change to the window seat as it felt too stifling cold further in. The 2nd floor dining area seemed busy / full with groups. I enjoyed having the first floor entirely to myself while I dined. Thought the music was too loud at first but they obliged when I asked them to turn it down a bit The dishes are meat heavy but they do have a few vegetarian dishes like sweet potato and tofu and steamed vegetables. I ordered tea which was lightly sweet, iced, and paired very well with the dishes I ordered. Overall the dishes I ordered were tasty, and loved being tucked away in a calm yet visually stimulating setting. I tend to be a slower eater preferring to take my time so ambience is very important to me to feel like I want to linger. Beautiful dishware. Love the quality. At one point a woman with mangosteens on a cart walked by and waved at me through the window. Such great timing. I LOVE mangosteen and went out to purchase a handful which I enjoyed there in the restaurant as a bit of dessert. Excellent dining experience and setting / location that would not have otherwise stood out it to me had I just seen it on Google maps. Was def serendipitous how I wandered here and the elements that drew me in when I happened to be in the area.

Very Affordable. Friendly staff especially manager. Good food reccommend the crab hotpot. Portion sizes big but manager will warn if you order too much. Can use translator if you are unsure about anything.

We were staying just around the corner and jumped at the chance to drop in. Despite not having a booking, the team kindly found us a spot – no small feat given it was a bustling Tuesday lunch with both upstairs and downstairs packed. The service was great, with the manager recommending several dishes that really delivered. We had the fried vegetables with egg and garlic, steamed-then-fried chicken with fish sauce and salt, and the deconstructed rice rolls – all full of flavour and served quickly. The place is fun and full of colour – in the food, the people, and the energy. A great spot for an authentic, lively Hanoi dining experience.

We discovered this place by chance as it was adjacent to our BnB, and it turned out to be a really good find. The portions are quite big so we could only order 2 dishes, and they were both quite amazing. The Fried Pork Ribs with Salt & Chilli was one of our top dishes in the entire trip. The pricing is slightly on the higher side compared to other restaurants that we had been to but it was worth the money. I was only a little shocked when they charged us for the wet towel as well, which is usually given free everywhere.
